We unexpectedly needed a hotel to stand in for us on our trip to Ireland. This was a pleasant surprise. Staff were very helpful. The food was definitely plentiful and tasty. And the location was ideal. Bedroom was small and a bit dated. Other than that we would Definitely consider returning.

Stayed one night. Hotel double room smallish, as you’d expect from a historic, city centre building, but clean, well considered and practical. The coffee maker is a nice touch. Only downside was that the heater/aircon unit made weird noises. The soundproofing seemed to be really doing its job though, considering that we were on top of a busy pub with a band playing, we really couldn’t hear much from outside the room. The pub itself is a sight to behold. Amazing back bar, stained glass, split levels, expansive collection of whiskies, decent range of beers, a cocktail bar upstairs, live music most (if not every) night… we didn’t eat, but the offerings looked good. We’d definitely stay here again.

We loved everything about our stay here. We arrived from Dublin by train, and the location couldn't have been better for this. Great location overall, nice room (apparently we had one of the quieter ones). Our stay was during the week, so the noise was not even noticeable. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful.

The hotel is city center, right by the tourist activity and only a 15 minute walk to some of the more local areas. Rooms were clean & spacious. Staff was extremely courteous, even calling after our stay to ensure we didn’t leave anything in the room. Only downside is the bar downstairs. They do play music until 2am, which we could hear in our room followed by the staff cleaning up after that. Our room was a few floors directly above the bar, so maybe a different location in the hotel would be better.

We stayed here in October 2025 which happened to coincide the the Galway Comedy Festival.||Our room was lovely, clean and incredibly spacious. We booked a twin room with a queen bed and a twin bed. It was the largest room I've stayed in in Europe and split between two people, very affordable.||The location of the hotel could not be more central. Located a less than 5min walk from Galway train/coach station and from all the famous shops and pubs, the hotel is situated on the edge of Eyre Square||Now yes this hotel is directly above and next to The Skeff pub, a popular spot for live music until 1am but our room faced the square and we didn't hear anything unless we had the windows opens and even then it was just the folks talking and laughing outside the pub.||The staff were lovely and helpful. We did not want to be distubed in the morning by housekeeping so we hung the little door handle sign and awoke to a bag of new clean towels, complimentary water bottles and toilet paper should we have needed it. It was a lovely thing for the staff to do and something I've never experienced in a hotel.||Id absolutely recommend staying here

I never write reviews but I am blown away by the service at this hotel. From the time we walked through the door everyone was so friendly and helpful. I left my passport in the safe 🫣 the manager called me (Niall) And was SO helpful, even offering to try and have it sent overnight to Dublin. I was extremely stressed out over this and he was so kind. Not to mention the location is top notch and the hotel itself is gorgeous!

Great place to stay in central Galway. Nice room, great breakfast and lovely pub/restaurant downstairs with live music most nights. Our room was very quiet (217) with no noise from the pub. Only negative is there is no parking and you have to navigate the multi story car park at the mall around the corner. Special rate of 10 Euros per night.

This is an unusually pleasant and well appointed hotel. The staff are amazing- especially the front desk management. The breakfast staff were so helpful and pleasant and the food was great. The room was spacious and so comfortable.||We were very pleased- many thanks-

Yelp
We spent two nights here in early August 2024. We had an interior room near the back of the building. It was during horse week so a gentleman called me a week prior to us arriving there and asked if we would prefer a quieter room because it likely would be a lively weekend. I really appreciate the phone call. It was top-notch. Great service at the front desk. We had breakfast one of the mornings. The Irish, of course. Served on the second floor of the Skeff. It was awesome. It has six bars inside. Well staffed. Good beer and drinks. The room was a bit small, but it met our needs as we did not spend much time in the room. Parking is about a block away at the nearby shopping center in the parking garage, at a discounted grade. Would definitely stay here again. Close to all the walkable spots. Right across from the town Square.

Yelp
Just the absolute best. Niall is amazing and made our trip so much better. He knew everything and continued to help us out on several occasions. It would have been great, but Niall made it amazing. Thank you Niall

Yelp
Right down town with nice rooms and good Wifi. They offered for us to look at a few rooms which was a pleasant surprise and we found one overlooking the square. This however meant we were over the 2 story bar, and while the music played kinda late I was able to sleep through it easily with ear plugs despite being a light sleeper.

Yelp
I stayed here on a weekend. Noise was not an issue, at all. The room is simple, clean and tidy, but nothing very special. The breakfast, which is included, is definitely worthwhile. The area where the breakfast is served is very historic; you get more of a feel for the age of the hotel here than in your room. The hotel has a fantastic location.

Yelp
this establishment overcharged us for beverages regardless of how we clearly explained that the very nonchalant rude server didn't understand the order. the manager was equally rude and offered no help to resolve the situation. poor service, mediocre food. we won't be back :) #america #fuckyeah

Yelp
Stayed here last night €145.00 for room .. Totally outdated , this hotel should not be given the name "hotel" or any stars .. It's a glorified hostel , the breakfast room is actually the nightclub attached to it , filthy dirty , breakfast wasn't fit to give to animals ... Total and utter disgrace and not value for money at even a tenner a night . Noisy and full of drunks from the nightclub next door .AVOID

Yelp
Truly a great hotel and pub! I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Galway.

Yelp
i stayed here with a group of friends back in April. The skeffington arms hotel and skeff bar is centrally located in Eyre square. The rooms have been newly refurbished and are very comfortable. We had dinner on the first night in the Skeff Bar. It was fantastic quality and very good value for money. The service was quick and extremely friendly. They had a cocktail menu of 365 cocktails one for every day of the day. I would not be a cocktail person. But some of the people in my group said they tasted really good. We got complimentary access into the Karma Club. We had great crack in here. We had a very enjoyable weekend here in the Skeff. We did not have to worry about getting taxi's at night. It was only a three minute walk from the railway station. I would highly recommend this to anyone planning a trip to Galway
