Warm welcome and great receptionist, Laura checked us in. There is temporary parking right outside, making it handy to bring your bags in, and then the use of a parking garage for £10/night (paid for at the hotel) around the corner. Our first room was dark and had a wall for a view. Laura changed us to a room overlooking the grassy square at the front. She moved our bags and our complementary bottle of Prosecco (it was my wife’s 60th), while we parked the car. ||The decor in the rooms is pretty terrible though. A 90’s throwback with the walls painted in squares of awful shades of blue, green and yellow, and our room was finished off with a quote from an Oasis song stuck to the ceiling. Felt like a hostel. But the bed was soooo comfy and the shower hot and powerful. The breakfast is extra and good value for money. Continental and hot options for £15 per person and served in the Skeff Bar and Kitchen which is adjacent, and has real character with heavy wood carvings and banisters. ||The location was perfect for the Latin Quarter and surrounding sights of Galway. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, all in all good value for our short break, just update those rooms!
