The Room could use a little updating but the location is incredible and the staff were all very friendly. Nice breakfast too. The bed wasn’t the most comfortable but otherwise I can’t complain. I found it pretty quiet but it is over a very busy pub that plays live music every night so keep that in mind if noise is a concern for you. However, they do have measures in place to keep the noise away from the rooms and we didn’t hear anything in our room.

Location absolutely amazing. Great breakfast and fun bar. I'm 217 i could not hear a single sound from the bar so I recommend staying on the wnd floor if you are a light sleeper. I forgot my passport and the front desk manager was so amazing- and helpful in me getting it back. Couldn't have asked for more for my stay in galway. It was my favorite of our trip throughout the country.

Warm welcome and great receptionist, Laura checked us in. There is temporary parking right outside, making it handy to bring your bags in, and then the use of a parking garage for £10/night (paid for at the hotel) around the corner. Our first room was dark and had a wall for a view. Laura changed us to a room overlooking the grassy square at the front. She moved our bags and our complementary bottle of Prosecco (it was my wife’s 60th), while we parked the car. ||The decor in the rooms is pretty terrible though. A 90’s throwback with the walls painted in squares of awful shades of blue, green and yellow, and our room was finished off with a quote from an Oasis song stuck to the ceiling. Felt like a hostel. But the bed was soooo comfy and the shower hot and powerful. The breakfast is extra and good value for money. Continental and hot options for £15 per person and served in the Skeff Bar and Kitchen which is adjacent, and has real character with heavy wood carvings and banisters. ||The location was perfect for the Latin Quarter and surrounding sights of Galway. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, all in all good value for our short break, just update those rooms!

I never write reviews but I am blown away by the service at this hotel. From the time we walked through the door everyone was so friendly and helpful. I left my passport in the safe 🫣 the manager called me (Niall) And was SO helpful, even offering to try and have it sent overnight to Dublin. I was extremely stressed out over this and he was so kind. Not to mention the location is top notch and the hotel itself is gorgeous!

What a cute little boutique bar! The staff was amazing! So attentive. Answered every question. No frustrations from them. In the US, I believe that someone would not show how annoyed they are. Nile and the French woman is who we dealt with and we adored them. If I ever comeback to Galway, this is where I would stay again. It’s close to everything and there is a really cute park near by! I can’t say enough great things

Enjoyed our stay at the Skeffington, everyone was very friendly and accommodating especially the reception staff who were always ready to help to provide directions or recommendations. We were well aware that noise might be an issue and while we did hear some noise and vibration from the pub well into the wee hours, neither were a big issue for us. Loved the location, the breakfast was wonderful, enjoyed our meal and drinks in the pub. Would definitely recommend and would absolutely stay here again.

Lovely front desk staff, who were so helpful. Loved the beds...so comfy with great sheets. The room was quiet. Amused by the Bon Jovi saying on the ceiling and the Lady GaGa- Sting lyrics on the glass pane by the elevator. Ideal location for enjoying Eyre Sq. and the Shop st. activities.

Lovely hotel located next to Eyre Square, making it a short walk to Latin Quarters (where most of the attractions are). We had the apartment, which was located behind the hotel and up 2 flights of stairs, but was spacious and had amenities(washer/dryer, fridge, fans for each room). Also had a beautiful view overlooking Eyre Square with cushioned window seats. And finally, the staff were very helpful. We had a small mishap and they were very helpful in sorting it out.

Yelp
We spent two nights here in early August 2024. We had an interior room near the back of the building. It was during horse week so a gentleman called me a week prior to us arriving there and asked if we would prefer a quieter room because it likely would be a lively weekend. I really appreciate the phone call. It was top-notch. Great service at the front desk. We had breakfast one of the mornings. The Irish, of course. Served on the second floor of the Skeff. It was awesome. It has six bars inside. Well staffed. Good beer and drinks. The room was a bit small, but it met our needs as we did not spend much time in the room. Parking is about a block away at the nearby shopping center in the parking garage, at a discounted grade. Would definitely stay here again. Close to all the walkable spots. Right across from the town Square.

Yelp
Just the absolute best. Niall is amazing and made our trip so much better. He knew everything and continued to help us out on several occasions. It would have been great, but Niall made it amazing. Thank you Niall

Yelp
Right down town with nice rooms and good Wifi. They offered for us to look at a few rooms which was a pleasant surprise and we found one overlooking the square. This however meant we were over the 2 story bar, and while the music played kinda late I was able to sleep through it easily with ear plugs despite being a light sleeper.

Yelp
I stayed here on a weekend. Noise was not an issue, at all. The room is simple, clean and tidy, but nothing very special. The breakfast, which is included, is definitely worthwhile. The area where the breakfast is served is very historic; you get more of a feel for the age of the hotel here than in your room. The hotel has a fantastic location.

Yelp
this establishment overcharged us for beverages regardless of how we clearly explained that the very nonchalant rude server didn't understand the order. the manager was equally rude and offered no help to resolve the situation. poor service, mediocre food. we won't be back :) #america #fuckyeah

Yelp
Stayed here last night €145.00 for room .. Totally outdated , this hotel should not be given the name "hotel" or any stars .. It's a glorified hostel , the breakfast room is actually the nightclub attached to it , filthy dirty , breakfast wasn't fit to give to animals ... Total and utter disgrace and not value for money at even a tenner a night . Noisy and full of drunks from the nightclub next door .AVOID

Yelp
i stayed here with a group of friends back in April. The skeffington arms hotel and skeff bar is centrally located in Eyre square. The rooms have been newly refurbished and are very comfortable. We had dinner on the first night in the Skeff Bar. It was fantastic quality and very good value for money. The service was quick and extremely friendly. They had a cocktail menu of 365 cocktails one for every day of the day. I would not be a cocktail person. But some of the people in my group said they tasted really good. We got complimentary access into the Karma Club. We had great crack in here. We had a very enjoyable weekend here in the Skeff. We did not have to worry about getting taxi's at night. It was only a three minute walk from the railway station. I would highly recommend this to anyone planning a trip to Galway
