Skiing Doo Bar

Came for a drink. Excellent choice of beers (around 8 keg taps and 1 cask beer). Open Mic night was excellent. Lots of local talent on show! Beers were excellent! Great atmosphere and very welcoming! Dog friendly too!

We came here on New Year's Day and had the most fantastic evening. The bar has such a great vibe, matched by great staff. We got chatting with Andy who was really fun and friendly. Drinks were reasonably priced and the bar had darts and table games! We'll be back x

Our sort of place. Casual dining. Staff were excellent and accommodating. Busy place with bar downstairs. Good portions of delicious tasting food. Opted for Steak pie and veggie burger. Only issue that could be improved was the sticky tables. Good range of reasonable priced beers on menu.

Meal was on the pricey side but portions & service were worth it. Nice, friendly welcome & service from both bar & restaurant staff. Will definitely visit again when in the area

A friend recommended we come here for steaks as he had a great experience recently. We had a rump and a sirloin, both washed down with a wheat beer and a local beer. We were not disappointed. Food was excellent, seasonal veg was delicious. Steaks brilliant. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Would highly recommend. Menu caters for all but can only comment on the steaks we had. Cute little place, nice selection of meals. Great portion sizes too. We hadn't booked, but were the last table of walk ins allowed, so they were fully booked on a Monday night. Staff were pleasant and food came out quickly and piping hot.

Atmosphere, staff, regulars, ales, shots. Wednesday is jam night and a fine night it is. Bit of a tricky one to find if the upstairs is closed but don't let that put you off. It's a rare place and all the better for it.

Had to share this 27 year ago we traveled every day round trip for a week on holiday 60 mile . What for ? Skiiing doo fresh tomato soup for my autistic son . The guys in the end gave me the recipe 😂 It’s lovely to see still a fantastic bolt hole for tourists and locals alike .

This place feels like a throw back to the 1970's with wood clad walls and roof and ski paraphernalia everywhere. Very rustic and laid back. Not fine dinning by any means but the food was tasty enough and big portions. It gets busy so booking is recommended. They were able to accommodate my vegetarian requests which is great. Would benefit from new glasses as they were crazed from the glass wash.

I have now been here three times, that I can count, and each time it just gets better and better! I am addicted to their nachos, which is on the starter menu, but do not be fooled, this is no starter, unless you plan to share. And I don't share. This will do you quite comfortably as a main, and the staff are quite happy to let you order it as a main course. It's £5.95 for the nachos with the chilli beef, which is very good, considering some places are higher priced for the nachos themselves, and then add an additional charge for the meat. The service in here is service with a smile, and the staff are always friendly. They don't hover either, which is a bugbear of mine, and it's normally just a general check in halfway through the meal to see if everything is ok. This is typical pub grub, but the cosy atmosphere, the quirky decoration and the friendly staff make this stand out from the crowd.

We came in an a weekend evening without bookingbit of a mistake as it was pretty busy! There's a bar downstairs so we had no problem getting somewhere to sit and a beer (or 2) before we were seated. On the drinks side, they have the normal draft options and a good selection of bottled beer and cider, including from the local caledonian brewery. The food is pretty good. The speciality is the wide range of burgers. There are a few other options (mainly pasta) but if you dont like beef then you're going to be a bit limited! The atmosphere is good, the staff is friendly so get along and enjoy :-)
