Loved the republic day evening sessions at Mo's The nibbles and appetizers were great, the kombucha was divine (although they ran out of it mid show) Above all the ambience and the performance by Pelican Shuffle was definitely memorable. Visit Mo's for a private concert food and drink experience.

The most glamorous yet vintage vibe of jazzy kolkata comes out alive in this unique place. No doubt one of the very special pubs where you can hang around for hours and make new friends right then and there. Coming to the drinks, the two boys behind the bar are the absolute best. They will customize your drinks too. The only con for now is the limitation of variety regarding food. But plenty of small bites. Overall, not just recommended for a single visit, but an adda hun with great vibes, drinks and music!

Intimate venue for live music. Venue is up a few flights of stairs. Multi-course “bistro meals” are simple but filling. Drinks available, but no cocktail menu

Spent an evening here with my wife, my sister and my friend who is also a blues guitarist. Lovely atmosphere and choice of artists. Real quality! I understand that the entry fee keeps away the "chapris" and maintains the crowd quality. However I would really love it if Kolkata has some free and secretive jazz/blues spots like Chiang Mai in North Thailand, as tourism is sure to be boosted in the coming years, and Skinny Mo's can be one of them!

Very cool space. Old meets new architecture. Groovy boutique on 1st floor. I got a beautiful tour of the place, as there was no music the night I went there. I recognize a musician on the website and they are Kolkata royalty.

I had the pleasure of visiting Skinny Mo''s on the 18th of October. I went solo to attend Paddy Y Los Gatos, and quickly realized it was the best decision I had made in a while. The ambience and crowd at Skinny Mo's perfectly complimented the excellent performance by Paddy Y Los Gatos. I had the pleasure of interacting with a social/open crowd including the owner and bartender who were extremely cordial. I did not have a chance to taste the food unfortunately, cause I was busy dancing/drinking/socializing/having fun. The evening I spent at Skinny Mo's will be an evening I'll forever cherish. I look forward to visiting again.

Kolkata’s love for jazz music goes back almost a century. The city has also been hosting an annual jazz festival since 2002 that’s witnessed artists from India and abroad perform. And now, we have more reason to rejoice as the city has finally got a dedicated jazz club that pays tribute to our long-standing love affair with the genre. Skinny Mo’s Jazz Club is located in an old, now restored, Art Deco building on Manohar Pukur Road. Designed by owner and jazz enthusiast Munir Mohanty, Skinny Mo's is done up with brick walls, a velvet bar and short chairs. There’s also a stage in front for performances as well as a huge skylight in the ceiling that lets in natural light during the day. Head to the indoor balcony for a clear view of the stage. The club is just a concert venue for now because their alcohol license still hasn’t come through. Until that doesn’t happen, Skinny Mo’s will have concerts every fortnight. So, expect kickass artists and bands like Bodhisattwa Trio, Amyt Dutta and Maarten Visser to name a few. Kendraka, a city-based jazz band, already performed on the opening night. They also want to provide a platform to local artistes to showcase their music while bringing in talents from outside the city (Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru) and eventually abroad (South-East Asia) to perform at Skinny Mo’s. Like the name suggests, the club will play only jazz music but they plan to host Jamsteady nights (featuring hip-hop, electronic, rock, pop, blues or any genre except jazz) every Wednesday once the license comes through. The space is open for musicians to come and express themselves, says Nishit Arora, the curator of the space.

New kid on the block. I went there on google recommendation about local happenings. It turns out that they had a nice jazz band from Delhi performing at the venue. There was cover charge of ₹400 that I paid and took last remaining seat available. The food was delicious but portions were awfully small. There was no liquor service. The manager explained that they are still in process of getting liquor license. Overall good experience.
