Skiwelt – our summary after five days of skiing:
+ The resort is really large
+ The slopes are varied, so there is something for everyone (we particularly liked 7 – slope/flat/slope/flat, etc many times.) and the neighbouring 3
+ More remote areas such as Going are without crowds even during rush hours
+ Amazing views from the peaks, especially Hohe Salve and the viewing terrace at ski lift 6 (Zinsberg). The last one is a hidden pearl!
+ Great opening hours for enthusiastic skiers: some lifts run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Orientation is difficult and the marking of the slopes could be significantly better: you arrive by lift at the top, from where the ski map shows a number of slopes. Finding your number is quite difficult and sometimes it is not even there because the first section leads together with another one. The reality should correspond exactly to the plan and vice versa! The improvement would cost only a fraction of the cost of the entire resort...
- The grooming of the slopes was among the worst we have experienced in Austria. Elsewhere - in Zell am See, Sölden, Silvretta Montafon, Saalbach, etc. - the snow is usually perfectly groomed in the morning, but here we repeatedly hit bumps and potholes. It does not matter after 11 o clock, but in the morning it is a pain.
