Not sure how you could not give this place five stars in every category. What a treasure here in the woods. Walked here from the marina, about 20 mins each way. Not a bad walk at all. Came for a to go cinnamon roll, stayed for lunch with a great view, still grabbed a cinnamon roll to go. Double win for us! Great service, delicious food and fun merchandise.

Not sure what the hype is on this place. 2 sandwich options for lunch. The ham one was decent but lacking fillings and the sourdough crust was so tough it hurt to bite through. The iced tea was brewed tea (not specified) and was bitter and lacking depth. The London fog was just steeped loose leaf tea, self serve fillings and no steamed milk. The cinnamon buns were so dry we didn’t finish them. All in all a very expensive $80+ lunch. No washrooms so use the outhouse on your way down. Next time I think we’ll try out the pub instead.

A friend of mine told me that I have to give this place a chance as they have one of the biggest cinnamon buns she ever had. We gave it a try and I will add to her quote that not only the cinnamon bun was huge, it was divine. The turkey sandwich was beyond amazing. Fresh, delicious, crispy bread. The hot chocolate was so delicious too. And, can we have something cooler than sitting in the balcony of a cafe in the middle of a forest in a rainy day and enjoying your food? I don’t think so! And the staff we super friendly. The service was so fast that you get your food as soon as you find your seat. Loved it!

Super cute cafe nestled in the woods along the beginning of the skookumchuck trail. Great iced mochas, cookies and cinnamon buns. They have recycling. Really fun vibe. Loved the atmosphere and the cinnamon bun earns up to its reputation. So soft and delicious. Highly recommend this place. Open in summers Wednesday - Sunday. Check their website for details.

Such a cute little cafe/bakery in the forest. It is built like a quaint little cabin and has a lovely deck overlooking the forest and neighboring stream. It was a great stop while we were in the area for the princess Louisa inlet tour (which I also highly recommend). It is a lovely place to stop if you are hiking the skookumchuk rapids trail because it is on route to the trailhead 😌

I found this place because we needed breakfast and a packed lunch for an all-day boat tour with Sunshine Coast Tours in Egmont. I was prepared for an unhealthy breakfast of raspberry slice, but to my delight, they offer made-to-order breakfast sandwiches, and eggs on toast! We had a relaxed breakfast, eating outside in the tree house. The lady on duty pours excellent espresso shots. She also makes good microfoam with Pacific Foods Barista Oat Milk – but we found out one time while she was on break that not everyone there is skillful like her in making a good coffee drink. For the boat tour, we ordered a ham and a vegetable sandwich. I really enjoyed the ham sandwich, the ham was thickly sliced, tender and not very salty. The ham is locally roasted. We enjoyed the house made sour dough bread – it was quite substantial and makes very good toasts as well. The vegetable sandwich is not as good because the vegetables were cut too small and they keep falling off the sandwich. We came back two more times while hanging around Egmont. Their banana bread was very good. I meant to try a cinnamon bun, but because I'm trying to avoid sugar, and cinnamon is high in histamine, so, I never did get to taste it. This is a delightful little place, and it makes Egmont more exciting as a holiday spot.

I had a ginger lime spritzer which was light and refreshing. My companion had coffee with a slice of banana loaf, which was moist and tasty. We ate on the outdoor porch, halfway into the forest. Gorgeous view and a perfect place to snack before or after the hike to see the Skookumchuck narrows.

Yelp
Very idyllic bakery and location. A beautiful wood cabin tucked in the woods, with deck space, a clearing with picnic tables, and benches for eating. My father in law who knows a lot about wood was admiring that the cabin is made of cedar, the highest quality wood, and it was unfinished, as it is the most naturally weatherproof wood (though not perfect). There's a stream below where kids can play. Great way to end our hike. * Veggie sandwich - 4.5 stars. Bread very fresh and spongy with a thick crust. Veggies were super fresh and the hummus was a nice touch. * Ham sandwich - 3 stars. Same great bread, very minimalist, thick pieces of ham and cheese. * Cinnamon Roll - 4 stars. Very soft and fresh. * Balsamic Peach Spritzer - 4 stars, at first I thought it was a little bland and just like soda water, but as I got near the bottom, it was more sweet. Make sure to mix it!

Yelp
This place was God awful. It starts with a very picturesque walk down a beautiful green road for less than five minutes and you arrive at a beautiful cabin that is the cafe. There is seating all around the deck and then out back there are picnic tables and logs amongst the trails. And that's where the magic of it all stops. There are wasps everywhere. In the pastry cabinet, where people are sitting, dead in the windowsills, it's swarming with them and they are not deterred by a light swat away. They're as hungry as you are arriving. I got a golden latte and there was so much dry cinnamon or nutmeg on top my mouth dried out like the Saharan desert! It tasted awful but you know who loved it? The wasps. I ordered two of them with my wife adjacent to me and only one came out. So I kindly approached the staff about the missing beverage and they were forcefully adamant that I only ordered one. Why would I only order one beverage for two grown adults? How hard is it to say "oops we made a mistake/misunderstood?" So they made me go back to the register and pay for another drink which is just poor customer service and ultimately just a dumb decision when I didn't make the mistake in the first place. It's a self service place and I regret leaving a tip at all.

Yelp
Great coffee and the raspberry slices are wonderful! Great place to stop after a hike!

Yelp
Every restaurant and bakery, if they charge normal prices, should provide a toilet. I have nothing against porta-potties, but they should take responsibility for the porta-potty that they offered. It was full. There was no toilet paper and no hand sanitizer, it was disgusting. Anthony Bourdain judged every place he went to by the toilet, so this place was no good.

Yelp
Nice spot in the forest with good coffee and great breakfast sandwich. We will eat here again.

Yelp
A lovely little cafe hidden in Skookumchuck Parks. You can only walk up to the cafe as there is no car access. A nice little treat on the way back if you decide to walk the 45 minute trail to the narrows to see the tide change (be sure to check online when they are before you go). I love the quietness and quaintness of the cafe and would highly recommend when doing the trail!

Yelp
This can be a difficult place to find. You can't drive to it...you must park on the public road and walk briefly through a lush privately owned rainforest to arrive. It's a lovely building, designed to blend into the environment. It's modern, warm and inviting and staffed by a couple of lovely ladies who provide good service with a broad smile. Most importantly, their coffee is sensational. I ordered a blueberry muffin. It was huge and very nice. My wife ordered seafood chowder. It was also delicious, but was more bouillabaisse than chowder in that it was a little thin. The bread they served was wonderful. There are tables inside, but we chose to sit on the balcony overlooking the brook and gardens. It was quite magical. If you get the chance pop in here...it's a rare find.

Yelp
So cute and the best reward after hiking in to view the Skookumchuck Narrows! Make sure to check their hours before going, they were closed Mondays and Tuesdays when I went this summer.
