Lovely hotel remodelled from a school built in the 1950s. Great quality of materials, beautifully preserved building with a character. A lot of light.|Room was clean and comfy, shower was stocked and hairdryer was available.|Well-functioning WIFI, decent breakfast (incl. omelette, which is rare for countryside hotels in Iceland). Overall - good experience.||A few negatives:|1. We seemingly got the last available room, which was the closest one to the kitchen/common hall, which translated into a lot of noise in the evening.|2. Toiletries were not adequate (it was a single dispenser and we didn't quite trust the contents of it).

Good room. Breakfast could be better and no facilities like jacuzzi or sauna.

Best salmon steak ever. They said they use only fresh ingredients, I guess that’s why it was so delicious. Friendly staff and clean facilities. Breakfast was yummy too.

This hotel is located in an ideal location for birders. I spent 5 days there in the summer of 2023. I used this as my hub to bird the Northeast of Iceland. Rooms and service were good and the location was outstanding. Unfortunately, some Icelanders rented out all the inner rooms for two nights. They were loud and fairly obnoxious. I was walking to my room to the desk and some lady comes out and says "this is private". I said, that's nice and kept going. The hotel, if they gave me the heads up, I would not have stayed. I'm not going to smear the hotel in this review as that wouldn't be too fair. However, if the owners read this, I want you to know I was not very happy listening to Icelandic karaoke until 3 in morning.

Lovely staff, great location off the beaten track. Try restaurant Veggur 8 minutes away for great burgers. Rooms are warm, bed comfy, breakfast is the usual basic continental, bathrooms compact. Bring your own shampoo etc as these are not supplied. It's these little things that lower the rating for me. (WiFi available)

Friendly team, comfortable and clean rooms, and abundant breakfast. I only stayed one night and it was not enough. There are too many things to see in the North of Iceland, maybe you need to stay at least two nights in this hotel.
