The PERFECT weekend in two yurts at Sky Ridge! Family group of seven adults all enjoyed the peaceful location, the views from the deck, lovely grounds all in spring bloom, the rooms, furnishings, linens, kitchens, Solo fire stoves, easy access to all the hiking, fishing, and sightseeing we wanted to do. Owner Melissa was courteous and helpful at every turn. One night we experienced a huge thunderstorm for a couple of hours—if the yurts were not weather-tight, we would have known! But no leaks or problems from wind at all. We did get a real show from the lightning. Check in and departure were effortless. We are already talking about when we can return to Sky Ridge. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

We love this place. This is our 3rd visit. We come here to kayak Fontana Lake and spend time in Bryson City. This is glamping at its finest. Our last two times we stayed during a full moon. The first time it was a new moon and you could see the Milky Way. They have WiFi but At&T service is strong. Did not need it. Experiencing a rain shower in a yurt is awesome. They have very powerful hvac units so you sleep comfortably. We like the fire pit at Nanthalia.

Lovely stay at Tuckaseegee yurt!! The first night we fell asleep to the sound of rain hitting the top. It was soothing and relaxing. Very clean and had all the essentials we needed. The bed and linens were very nice. There isn't alot of seating inside but we had a stadium chair from home that we used while watching TV. Overall, highly recommend!!

My family of 6 stayed at Rosa's Original Yurt. This is by far the best stay we have had so far. Everything about this stay was wonderful. The amenities, location, views were all perfect! We had a beautiful view of the horses & Emu as well. Rosa & William have been so thoughtful to share their travel experiences through the albums they have available in the yurt. We also learned to use the Brick oven (our first time) and it was a great learning experience. This original yurt is in a perfect location with a handful of trails to visit nearby. Rosa was sweet to stop by and check on us and she's very accommodating. I can keep going on about our stay because it was just perfect. We will definitely be coming back here more often. Thank you for letting us have a memorable stay here.

Thank you Sky Ridge Yurts! What a great option for something different—as nice as a 4-5 star hotel stay but with such an intimate, outdoors vibe! We would have used our private fire pit if not for the statewide burn ban in effect, but the included gas grill on our private deck did the job just fine for cooking. We look forward to returning with friends, and maybe even bringing our children next time. :)

My wife and I have stayed here 3 times over 3 years, and it’s always been a wonderful experience! It’s great for privacy without feeling stranded, and if you’ve never tried a yurt before, we can’t recommend it enough! Sky Ridge Yurts makes “glamping” easy. We are particularly fond of the fire pits, though it’s hard to pick a “favorite amenity” in a place like this. Try it out for yourself!

We stayed in the Junaluska yurt. This place is absolutely perfect in every way. Every detail was thought of. High end furniture, luxury linens, it feels like you’re inside a 5 star resort. Extremely comfortable climate controlled interior. Incredible views. Really nice fire pit on the deck and Weber gas grill. Fully stocked kitchen for cooking. Will 100% stay here again!

Sky Ridge Yurts absolutely saved the day for our family! After an unexpected issue with our original rental elsewhere, they were able to provide us with a cabin on incredibly short notice—and it was perfect. The cabin was spotless, beautifully maintained, and exactly what we needed to turn our trip around. The location was ideal, with breathtaking views and a serene atmosphere that made our stay unforgettable. Our daughter loved every moment, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Thank you, Sky Ridge Yurts, for your exceptional service and for giving us a place to create wonderful memories. Without you, our trip wouldn’t have been nearly as fun or enjoyable. We can’t wait to come back!

Yelp
We have visited here 4 different trips and have absolutely enjoyed every trip. We practically consider this our private get-away. For each trip, we have spent three full days and we have yet to eat out at a restaurant since I love to cook and the kitchen is pretty well appointed at Stecoah Cabin. It was bittersweet to see Sky Ridge Yurts being ranked #1 glamping spot in the entire US by USA Today survey. Well deserved, but I hope we still have our sweet hide-away and it doesn't get too hard to reserve or expensive by demand.

Yelp
I almost don't want to review this place and keep it a secret bc they are so amazing! I love it here!! It is glamping at its best. We usually staying in one of the smaller yurts and it is perfect for a couple. Super nice yurts with full bathroom...Hot water, showers, and toilets. Cute little coffee station with local ground beans. Little fridge for perishables. Cutlery, cups, and dished that you might need. Grill and campfire with seating in the back. If you need a break for the outdoors, they have a TV and dish access for all the channels. They are close to Bryson City so you can go out for dinners or lunch. Close to the NOC for some exploring. Lots of local hiking trails close by. I love this spot!!

Yelp
I was looking for a cozy, intimate, low key place to stay for my birthday. Sky Ridge was just what I was looking for! It was easy to find, and had everything we needed for our quick stay. I loved all the thought and care that went into making these yurts, from the comfortable and cozy bed linens, to the cute little loofah in the bathroom. You don't need to bring much but your self, some food, and maybe a 1,000 piece puzzle, like we did. We highly suggest visiting Cardinal Coffee, down the hill for some very tasteful coffee combinations. I plan on making this a yearly trip and have already convinced our friends to come up for a weekend!

Yelp
Well, I really want to write an awful review so no one ever wants to go there so that it will always be available when I go there.... but, that wouldn't be fair. I stayed in a newly built stickbuilt unit called the "Wayah" house, not one of the yurts. It was very nice, and the perception of privacy strong, despite the other house overlooking this one. Wood was provided for the outdoor firepit (but word to the wise, bring your own kindling if you want a fire!). The two king suites were tastefully decorated, and each had their own bathroom with tile shower, and a door to a covered patio which had phenomenal views to the southeast and southwest of the Smokies. The kitchen had everything we needed (but most of food brought we pre-prepared), nice granite countertops, big sink, dishwasher, big fridge, service for 8, although only inside seating at the island for 3. There was a half bath and washer/dryer unit. An adequate living area with a tv. There was a gas grill outside. Best part for my hubby and I, was being able to have our 2 dogs accompany us (worth the $50 fee)! Only Major con: Poor water pressure. Everyone else in my party complained of super slow internet, and spotty cell service. Also, my sis stayed in one of the yurts, so I got to see one. It was one of the bigger ones, and, other than the thin outside walls-- which allow more sound to be transmitted than you might think-- the inside was really nice, and well appointed, although not as nice as the brand new unit I stayed in!!

Yelp
Could not ask for a more beautiful, clean, or comfortable home-away-from home! While Sky Ridge is technically a "glamping" experience, the yurts could not be more luxurious... far from roughing it! Even better? The customer service is second to none. We were truly treated better while guests at Sky Ridge than I can say for any other lodging experience nationwide. Truly outstanding!

Yelp
My family and I spent the weekend at Shy Ridge Yurts and had an amazing time. It was so beautiful and comfortable. We stayed in Fontana and it was just so comfortable for the four of us. The views were just breath taking. We did get lost getting there but the owner, Melissa stayed on the phone with us for twenty minutes, at 10:00 at night to make sure we got there. We had a great weekend and would most definitely return.

Yelp
Sky Ridge Yurts is a treasure! We stumbled upon it a few years ago looking for a vacation rental in the Bryson City area. Been back a dozen or so times since and it never disappoints. The yurts themselves are spectacular - we've stayed in 4 of the 5 - and are quite a bit more nice and modern than most cabins I've ever stayed in. This does not include their cabin, which will become our new preferred destination... It is immaculate, extremely comfortable, and the views out the wall-to-wall windows offer breathtaking, year-round mountain views. Amenities in all of the properties are very similar... A/C, grills, wifi, all of the cable channels, comfy beds, and nice, modern bathrooms. One yurt and the cabin offer very nice full sized kitchens, which is nice if you don't feel like eating out or grilling every meal. The property has enough room for kids to explore, at least two fire pits, and they allow pets! Final word on the properties, they do a fantastic job of maintenance, upkeep, and cleaning. Everything is always in great condition and spotless. As great as the property is, I think the location is one of my favorite parts. You're 5-minutes from the beautiful Nantahala Rive and Outdoor Center, 5-minutes from world class mountain biking, and 15 minutes from the Deep Creek section of Great Smoky Mountains National Park, easily one of the most accessible and beautiful areas of the park. If that's not good enough, trout fishing, a couple of lakes, spectacular hikes, and tons of great recreation or relaxation opportunities are within a 10-30 minute drive. In town, you have to check out The Filling Station, Cork & Bean, and the Nantahala Brewing company for great food/deserts/drinks. The pizza at the NOC's River's End restaurant is not to be missed! I 110% recommend Sky Ridge Yurts (and cabin). It has become an integral part of my families vacation, recreation, and relaxation plans! It allows me to go up for a few days and reset, without having to worry about a thing
