This was a birthday present to me! What a magical place. I was in awe of the views from both sides of my amazing modern room. Too pretty to be real, it would seem. There is a shared patio space out back for each bldg…. (Only about six rooms each so plenty of space) with gorgeous views, ample, comfy seating and a big fire pit. My daughter and I did yoga on the roof this morning with the red rocks all around us….. then had a tasty breakfast outside by the fire pit while gazing up at the earthy orange mountains. William at the front desk took excellent care of me! I felt truly pampered. This place has my sincere stamp of approval. I can’t imagine it won’t capture a piece of your heart as well!

We had a fantastic stay at Sky Rock Sedona. The hotel has an amazing location with incredible red rock views, especially from the outdoor areas. The property is clean, modern, and very well maintained, with a relaxed Sedona vibe that makes it easy to unwind. The rooms were comfortable and spotless, the beds were great, and the staff was friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We really enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and the convenience of being close to hiking, restaurants, and everything Sedona has to offer. Sky Rock was the perfect place to relax after long days exploring the area. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Sedona.

My husband Luis, our service dog Arezzo, and I just stayed at Sky Rock Sedona and had an exceptional experience. I traveled weekly for over a decade, and this was — without exaggeration — one of the most attentive and genuinely welcoming hotel stays I’ve had. William Mitchell made all the difference. From the moment we arrived, he took incredible care of us — smooth check-in, thoughtful recommendations, restaurant reservations, and making sure we felt truly looked after throughout our stay. His attention to detail and proactive hospitality were outstanding, and it was all delivered with real warmth and kindness. Sky Rock itself is beautiful, calm, and perfectly situated, but it’s people like William who elevate a stay from “nice” to memorable. We left feeling cared for, relaxed, and already looking forward to returning. Highly recommend — especially if you appreciate hospitality done right.

Google
We stayed here for a week over the Xmas break, and so we got to know this place very well. In so many ways it deserves a full 5 star rating, but some things from our stay just weren’t right. First of all the good points: • The service was excellent, everyone we met was very helpful and polite. • The location is also excellent. Close to lots of restaurants and a short walk from Whole Foods Market. • The restaurant has amazing views – truly this is the main reason to stay here (see photo). • The food was extremely good, although very pricey. • The room was clean, comfortable and well furnished, with charging points right next to the bed – even a high voltage USB-C outlet, which is rare (see photo). The bathroom was a little small, but not a problem. • Yoga classes every day included - although we didn’t partake. • Several electric car chargers (Tesla and non-Tesla) available at all times. The things that bugged me: • They charge over $30 a day for parking. Given the amount they charge for the room this is a rip off. (There are actually plenty of free parking spaces available just across the road.) • We paid extra for a room with a mountain view. This was not worth it. The windows in the rooms are so small you can’t see anything from them, and even outside the room the view was blocked by trees (see photo). • We accidentally left some clothing behind in the room when we checked out. We reported it the same day (by phone and using their web site). Despite three phone calls chasing this up I still do not have them. When I call they refuse to let me speak to housekeeping, and were not willing to follow up themselves. This whole arrangement is a joke. We enjoyed our stay, and had a good time. But next time I plan to stay in the Hampton Inn a few blocks away.

Google
Amazing 5 days at this hotel . The room was spacious and comfortable. We got upgraded to a room with a fireplace on the second night. Views were spectacular from both rooms. Shared patio was beautiful. Rooms were clean. Staff was able to provide extra water , coffee and towels quickly. Two restaurants and Whole Foods are walking distance. All the major hikes were close by. Due to the Titanium status we had free breakfast everyday. Highly recommend.

Google
I paid for six nights at this hotel and specifically requested a room with a direct view of the red rocks. Despite this clear request, I was not given the room I paid for, which felt like a misrepresentation of what was promised. I tried to resolve the issue immediately with the manager on duty, Austin, who told me to return on the 29th and assured me the room would be changed. When I came back on that date, Austin was not at work, and the rest of the staff had no record or knowledge of what he had promised. There was no follow-up, no note, and no solution—showing a serious lack of professionalism and coordination. I am a business owner managing multiple companies and employees, and based on my professional experience, I am confident that Austin does not demonstrate the skills required for a managerial role. His handling of the situation showed poor communication, lack of accountability, and weak leadership. The only reason we stayed was because the woman working that shift was extremely kind and genuinely tried her best to help us, which I truly appreciated. She showed far more professionalism than management. On a positive note, the food was excellent, the bar staff were very friendly, and the cocktails were outstanding. Unfortunately, the management failure overshadowed what could have been a great stay.

Google
Updated hotel with an incredible view. Nice bar with nightly music and morning yoga. Good service. The only downside is the hotel is a bit old so it lacks some of the amenities you would expect at this price point. Not a bad choice though.

Dan P.

Google
As others have said, the rooms are adequate, the property offers stunning views, and the employees are very friendly. A small matter about the room: The TV - this is the first time in a year of several hotel stays where after turning on the TV and pressing guide on the controller the channel listing came up properly. The bar/restaurant area is a nice amenity (and convenient) along with the yoga, star gazing, warm fire lounge outside, fine pool and spa, etc. The manager on duty was attentive and professional. The front desk representative was very helpful and made a point of speaking with us each time we went to the restaurant or bar. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I had concerns about this establishment after reading reviews, there were some about mistreatment of colored people, the cleanliness, the service and so much more. Spending my 40th birthday of course I wanted a great experience so I walked in with my walls up. I watched a man go up to the front desk to complain to Molly about something that I couldn't hear clearly and Molly handled it very professionally. The man started asking to have multiple things waived/free and it become clear to me of what was going on. Upon arrival (Monday - Wednesday summer time) the parking spaces were huge, the street was wide and the white lines are visible/maintained its color. Easy parking, not free parking about $36. The Front desk is beautiful, the wall is covered in Amethyst crystals. We checked in with Molly. I have to say, best customer service! Molly is extremely professional, knowledgeable, helped us with nearby attractions, recommended birthday places to checked out and provided a map. Molly went above and beyond! JJ (Jennifer) works behind the bar. The drinks are amazing, my husband is not a fan of Margaritas but ended up drinking the prickly pear margarita as it is delicious! JJ had 1-2 others to help with busting tables and delivering items. It seems as if she/JJ was the only person mixing drinks and she did a wonderful job with the timing and tasty drinks. Although Jennifer was busy, she took her time to converse with each table and really put a smile on our face and a few laughs. I am a furbabe mom, it's not easy or affordable finding place that are furbabe friendly. The staffs all made our pup feel at home, lots of petting and even squatting down to level with my shih tzu. I'm amazed at how friendly and kind ALL the staffs were (JJ / Molly / Jared / Holly / Hector / Yvonne (Evon) / so much more I need to update the post with names). They made my whole family including Stella (shih tzu furbabe) feel very welcome and loved! The fees for dogs are not bad at all, $75. Potty areas are mostly rocks, Arizona doesn't have much grass anyways but the property is large enough to walk around with your four legged baby. Some of the reviews that were concerning mentioned mistreatment of colored people. That's a concern I had walking into the hotel, and embarrassing enough...it shouldn't have been a concern. The customer service at this hotel deserves additional stars, friendly staff and for the professionalism. My husband and I are of color and he has visible tattoos covering his arm and body. One may look at him and mistreat. Judging a book by its cover. This man served his country, he is the most well mannered and polite person I know and yet we were treated with smiles/ laughs / jokes/ conversations / and beyond. We had the executive sunrise suite, the room is spacious and very clean. The decor is not overwhelming, the bathroom is nice, there's a refrigerator included and microwave is complimentary but you will have to call front desk/dial 0 to request. There are a few other complimentary items on this list. There is a front door and back door both have an extra security lock for your peace of mind. My favorite is the bed/headboard. Each side of the headboard has a USB plug, USBC plug and a light switch. EXTREMELY CONVENIENT! The view is unreal, beautiful all around. Some of the reviews I had were deducting stars from the hotel due to wear and tear. Wear and tear is normal and not an issue or concern that I dive deep into. There is so much more to this place that I did not have time for. Complimentary activities, the physic shop and amenities to utilize. I will definitely book another weekend stay! There is much more to explore and experience. SHOUT OUT TO THE STAFF for all your hard-work, and for all the love that comes with the Sky Rock Sedona Hotel.

Yelp
Mixed feelings about this hotel. Rooms are newly updated, quiet, clean. We were on the top floor with gorgeous views, however you're sharing the deck with all the other guests. The view looks onto the beautiful mountains, but also onto a church with very bright lights and the highway. The traffic noise kills the beautiful and relaxing vibe. The location is very central. It's easy to get to everything from here. This hotel is not a resort though. The pool is tiny and could stand a remodel. If you're just spending your days out hiking, you should be fine. It feels overpriced to me, but everything in Sedona is expensive.

Yelp
Lack of staffing: Only one computer out of two working over two days which leads me to believe they don't have proper IT or back up systems. Also our room was not ready at 4pm and we could not check in early. I can honor the 4 PM check in time thing but once we still could not check in at 4pm and had to wait more time, that really ruined to our time to get to an early dinner. So due to their lack of staffing, that caused problem with our evening plans. Also- it leads me to believe that they are understaffed for housekeeping, especially since the next day when I tried to check out, I overheard the staff at the front desk, not being able to check people in for the same type of reason. In addition, their thermostat was really strange and even though we said it to 70° it was probably about 85 in the room and it was not very consistent for when it went on and when it went off, and I found myself sweating in the middle of night and feeling really uncomfortable, and then it was really hard for me to get back to sleep . If you have a lot of luggage don't accept a room on the first floor (100 rooms) because you have to go up and down two separate flights of skinny steps. Also, the rooms are pretty tight in space there isn't a whole lot of wiggle room between bed and desk. The bathrooms are OK nothing that luxurious. The one thing that was a big plus was that they had no carpets so that did give a feeling of being clean. We did have a room that had a good view once you came out of the room. They also did honor my gold elite stays 2pm check out time but we did leave at 1pm so that they could clean the room and have available for next guest. The younger woman that checked me in seemed friendly however there was an older woman that was also at the front desk who was less friendly or welcoming. I saw her offer some stones to people behind me, but for some reason didn't ask me anything about the stones. Weird-and rude!

Yelp
This Tribute Portfolio by Marriott hotel in Sedona, Arizona offers an artistic atmosphere with gorgeous views of the mountains. The location is very central to town and hiking. The hotel is built on a hill and not too easy to get to the lower level rooms with luggage. Our room was spacious and nice. They should have more than two bath towels in the room. They charged $36 a night for parking with a small lot and sometimes you have to park on the street. They should just charge more in the daily rate. We had the breakfast buffet $22 one morning. It was fine. They had a musician performing on the outdoor patio. They also have musicians performing in the evenings as well. We didn't partake in the morning yoga class. It was nice to have the complimentary water and the souvenir stones at the front desk.
google avatar

Tj A.

Yelp
This was an amazing hotel and what an incredible beautiful scenery. Not only was everything so accommodating but also the atmosphere is awesome. The buffet in the morning opens at 7 not a minute earlier is 22 and something dollars. I tipped them on the card I put down as well. I wish they would provide microwaves due to the fact they don't have a free breakfast or much at the counter at check in. If you want views and are not going to be in your hotel then this would be the best bet. If you want accommodations then this isn't. The gym is about a mile walk and they give you a pass. There are fire places everywhere you can ask to start if it's to-windy they will not. Makes sense. This was my first time in Sedona and I'd love to come back. Thank you.

Yelp
I loved this hotel! Not only are the views stunning but the service was incredible too. The complimentary shuttle around town was a highlight and made it easy for us to enjoy a few drinks at the hotel bar before taking the shuttle into town for dinner and a few more drinks and not having to worry about getting to/from the hotel. We used the shuttle several times and would come back for the shuttle alone. We spent a couple hours laying by the pool but found it to be on the smaller side. It was peaceful until some kids joined us and it has made us desire adult only pool destinations in the future. We appreciated that the mandatory resort fee also included a food and beverage credit for the same amount. Makes the fee a lot easier to stomach when you get something tangible back for it. I'll definitely be keeping this spot in mind for future trips to Sedona.

Yelp
Cockroaches! I just got back from a 2 night stay at the property. While the views are beautiful, this place is unsanitary. I called the front desk to report that we woke to 3 cockroaches in the room. She apologized and said she would send someone right away and have management contact me. Nobody ever came or called. We went for a hike, came back and all the bugs (both living and dead) were still there. I called, emailed and did the app chat with nobody ever getting back to me. It's disgusting they think this is OK. Also, our room was right next to the restaurant and bar - so gross!
google avatar

Dexter Z.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place ... first off the views are top notch. That really is the highlight although I don't know if they are true for all rooms.... The real problem here is with the staff, not all of them are poor, but I was not impressed by the front desk associate I dealt with.....Just overly rude and not helpful with an attitude, i ended up having to delay check in and again not a huge deal but just unnecessary and just put a bad vibe on the trip. I would say definitely worth checking out to decide for yourself .

Yelp
Lovely boutique hotel with fabulous views. You cannot beat the location. We stayed two nights, enjoying great service and spending time both nights at the bar after we returned from the day's activities. We had a light dinner there one evening ( hummus and a salad) and it was great, though pricy for what you get.

Yelp
The management here is absolutely horrible. They knowingly overbooked and moved my view room to a non view room. Not sure why they bumped me, I made my reservation a month and a half ago. She said all the hotels do this and it's no big deal. She thought she can buy me with free parking and breakfast for one day... I literally paid $650 more to stay at that hotel (which has less accommodations than most other hotels), in THAT ROOM, just for that view outside my room. As Sinefield said "See, you know how to take the reservation, you just don't know how to HOLD the reservation. And that's really the important part of the reservation, the HOLD" https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=4T2GmGSNvaM She compared it to someone asking you to give up your seat on a plane. Excuse me, I prepaid my entire stay and nobody bothered to ask me if they can give my room to someone else. Ridiculous. No Miss, it's more like paying for business class and getting bumped to coach and being compensated with peanuts. SMH

Yelp
Amazing hotel and staff! Took my wife here for her 40th birthday. The views are breathtaking and it is a pet friendly place!

Eva C.

Yelp
Very poor experience with this hotel's lost and found process. After I submitted a lost item report through ILeftMyStuff.com and followed up by phone, a staff member told me the item had been found and would be returned. That was the last thing I ever heard. No tracking, no email, no response -- despite repeated follow-ups. Even Marriott's customer service only redirected me back to the same website. Zero accountability between the hotel and the third-party platform. Still no resolution. Deeply disappointing.

Adrianna S.

Yelp
The view from this hotel is the best! We have stayed at a bunch of places in Sedona but this view is our favorite. They recently remodeled the hotel and did a nice job. You can still tell it is an older hotel. The AC was so loud at times it drowned out my husband's snoring (maybe that's a good thing!) They have lots of outdoor space with lots of seating. It never feels crowded. They also have live music during breakfast and at night. It is so nice and relaxing. Lots of activities like meditation, yoga and stargazing. They do have free bottled water, water filling stations and bags of ice in the lobby, which is nice. Somethings we didn't care for- it was very hard to get help. It waited about 5 minutes before someone came to the front desk to check us in. We also waited about 10 minutes to order food at the bar (there is no table service- you have to walk up and order everything from the bar). Another big issue we had- we paid extra for a red rocks view and were not given one. Our room had a view of a parking lot and a big tree. The other side of the hotel had amazing red rock views- which is what we were expecting when we saw then pictures and paid extra. It's extra upsetting because we are Titanium Bonvoy members but definitely weren't treated like we were. So while we love the view from the Ref Rocks side of the hotel- I don't know that we would book here again knowing that you aren't guaranteed that view, even when you pay extra for it.

Yelp
When we decided to weekend in Sedona we knew we were looking for some unique accommodations. That is exactly what we found here at Sky Rock Inn. From the checkin process to checkout we felt the serenity and vibrant energy of the gorgeous settings. Our room was comfortable, spacious and clean. The service staff was first rate . We personally had dealings with Chris a manager and Gino in the Lounge. Our experience was first rate! The food was delicious and the beverage selection was first rate. There was an assortment of live music during brunch and dinner hours. We will definitely book this location for our next visits!
google avatar

Lisa B.

Yelp
We requested a view room- first night no room loud parking lot room they made a mistake upgraded to a partial view with a dark bathroom- we paid for a view room keep in mind for 2 nights . We got 200 off but not worth it. Also 45 min lock out of the first room . Don't stay here

Mike H.

Yelp
No room service, no free coffee (unless you like Keurig), no dinner service. No King size beds. Just getting by on the views. Wouldn't recommend.

Yelp
This property was recently turned over to a Marriott property so I think some of the bad reviews may have been before or during the transition. We had nothing but a great experience. All the staff was very friendly. There was various live music in the lobby almost every day, they have a deck in the lobby that is perfect to grab and drink and sit on during sunset, and it is nearby all the good spots. Holly the shuttle driver is the best, she'll pick you up and take you back from anywhere within a 3 mile radius which covers all the shops and restaurants. She is so friendly and If you give her a time in advance or a 10 minute heads up she strives to enhance your trip. All the rooms are very spacious and clean. They have hardwood throughout which feels so much more sanitary than your standard hotel carpet. There are also fire pits throughout the property to enjoy.

Yelp
This review is strictly for their bar in the lobby. We were visiting the Sedona area for a friend's wedding and were joining their welcome hour at the Sky Rock Inn. They have a beautiful patio with gorgeous views of the red rocks and these large glass doors than can open up the lobby to the patio or be closed. The two stars are for the beautiful atmosphere and space. The lack of stars is from the service and overall experience we had at their bar and with their bartender. The bar itself is extremely tiny, maybe 8 seats total. It was a larger crowd due to the occasion, but didn't seem unmanageable. What was really odd is there would be up to four people behind the bar at any given time and only one would be taking orders and making drinks. Their beverage menu sports cocktails, wine and beer and of course some other spirits. They had some unique cocktails and I opted for the Northern lights a botanical gin forward cocktail. To start, their prices are astronomical - all cocktails are about $20 and though I have paid a similar price and would for a craft cocktail and experience, these were anything but. The bartender looked us over numerous times and it took about 15 minutes to get our initial order. My husband got a single run of the mill bourbon on the rocks, one craft beer and my cocktail. What really frustrated me was the gin in my cocktail was much more botanical and a gin k really enjoy, it was part of the reason I ordered the cocktail. When he made it, he poured a completely different, lower shelf and not even mildly close gin substitute without saying anything. I inquired about it and he told me he was out of that gin, but instead of making an appropriate substitution or asking me which I would prefer, he just hoped I wouldn't noticed. That really bothered me. He did offer to make me another one with a different gin, but at that point I didn't want the drink to be wasted. He told me he charged me for a cheaper cocktail, but the total came out to about 53 dollars before tip. He did not include an itemized, so I'm not really sure where the disconnect and cost came from. Overall the cocktail was below average, not was I initially wanted. The service was disingenuous and the prices were overpriced. I would not return and there are so many wonderful options on the area that offer a beautiful view, with drinks and food to match.

Yelp
I am writing to formally express my disappointment regarding my recent stay an interaction with the manager, Rita . As a new Marriott Bonvoy member and someone with experience in the hospitality industry, I understand the importance of professionalism, customer service, and ensuring guests feel valued. Unfortunately, my experience at this location was far from the standard I have come to expect from Marriott properties. Upon check-in, I was disappointed that I did not receive the room I had expected. While the manager, Rita, did explain that the hotel was at capacity and that specific room types must be booked in advance for a guarantee, her overall demeanor was dismissive and unprofessional. I have stayed at multiple Marriott locations and have often received accommodations, particularly for special occasions. When I inquired about this for my mother's birthday, I was abruptly told that they do not offer such things, despite having received similar gestures from other Marriott properties--including this exact location on my first visit when there was no special occasion. Throughout our interaction, Rita frequently cut me off, spoke over me, and showed clear frustration, including sighing loudly as I walked away. While I cannot say for certain, I could not help but feel as though I was being treated differently as a person of color. Regardless, I expected a level of professionalism and customer care that simply was not provided. The experience only worsened when I entered my room, which was clearly not cleaned properly. There was dried blood on the bathroom door, hair on the floor, food residue on the counter, and stains near the trash that also appeared to be blood. This is not only unacceptable but also a health hazard. When I called the front desk to report this, It was again met with dismissiveness and was told that all rooms are checked before guests arrive--implying that my concerns were invalid. Wasn't till I demanded a house cleaner till I was sent one. When I went back to the front desk to speak with Rita again, she reiterated that the hotel was at capacity and offered me a refund only if I left the establishment to find another hotel, which was not a reasonable solution given that I had just driven two hours and it was already 9 PM. She did not offer to help me find another hotel, nor did she offer a refund as an accommodation for the unacceptable condition of my room. It is standard in the hospitality industry to provide some form of compensation, whether that be a refund for one night, Bonvoy points, or another goodwill gesture, particularly in a situation as serious as this. Instead, I was given only a waived parking fee. I find it extremely disappointing that I was met with such lack of care from the manager while the housekeeping staff, who saw the condition of my room firsthand, was far more apologetic and understanding And mentioned that this was not their standard. I will give Holly a compliment. She was very empathetic, kind, and professional, and Cleaned the stains off the door, wall and table. Marriott has always been a trusted brand for me, but this experience has made me question whether my loyalty is valued. I would appreciate a response regarding how this matter will be addressed. Given the circumstances, I expect Marriott to uphold its commitment to customer service and guest satisfaction. I do have pictures and videos however, Holly came in and took a lot more pictures and videos For reference. Also Rita Made it seem like we weren't supposed to have more than one car per room, even though We mentioned that we needed to pay for two cars she made it seem like it was No additional parking spots available. Gave us a really hard time about it As well. It made it seem like she was accommodating us for letting us pay for two cars, even though we went out and they were plenty of parking spots available on the lots. Not sure why we were singled out and given such poor service, but this is unacceptable. its now day two we expected a cleaning maintenance to arrive. No one, has Arrived A few pics are below. There were plenty more

Yelp
Booked a king room with a view. They gave us two queens in the back corner. Our room had no fridge even though I called ahead to ensure it was because I needed it for medications. When I called to complain, they told me it was an issue on the booking end and they had nothing. Somehow they found one other king room that they said had a view but it absolutely had no view. So I paid extra for nothing - no compensation for this offered at all. Very disappointed and won't stay here again.

Yelp
Overpriced and poorly managed. Internet cuts in and out. You can hear the TV in the room next door. The food is mediocre. This place sucks. One of my biggest regrets

Yelp
I wish I checked yelp reviews before booking! Believe the reviews! This place is seriously overrated and misrepresented. The rooms are basic and in need of updates. For the price you pay the cosmetic imperfections should be addressed between guests. There was water damage on the ceiling and the sprinkler cover was missing in the bathroom. The tub could use a refresh a

Yelp
My grandma, grandpa, mom, and I stayed here a couple of nights ago and it was unforgettable! Our room was clean and comfortable, the staff were very kind, and the hot tub/pool was nice and clean! You do have to pay for parking and breakfast, but we got the parking and breakfast package and it was worth it! The view from our room was absolutely breathtaking. The morning yoga was actually beneficial to my mom, so I would give it a try (it's also complementary.)Lastly, the breakfast was delicious!

Yelp
Sky rock is a beautiful hotel with some of the best views in Sedona. It is a Marriott property (so you get points for staying when booking with Marriott) all remodeled recently. The property has a bar with drinks and appetizers as well as breakfast for an additional cost. There is usually a yoga or meditation session in the morning and there is an additional charge of a resort fee which covers wifi parking etc. they should have included that in the base price but they didn't. The beds are comfortable there is a fridge in the room all very clean and nice with the remodel. Highly recommend building 1 or 2 with red rock View. Occasionally there will be live music. Great hotel for couples. Friends. Families. Single travelers.

Yelp
Pros: Great views from almost every room, very nice employees all around, close to city center. Dog friendly. Complimentary shuttle available to take you wherever you want to go. Cons: Rooms are hit or miss, we got a dud the first night and asked to switch the following day, totally different experience second night. Rooms are on the smaller side. AC in rooms is LOUD. Restrooms small. Pool amenities were not available due to construction. Tranquility room offers complimentary yoga, but no one cleans the room so it was kinda gross. Check in was a bit odd as the concierge desk was under renovation and they are checking everyone in through a guest room. They charge $25/day for parking. Food at the hotel is terrible and overpriced. I would stay here again for convenience reasons or short stay, now knowing what room to request, but if you're looking for a vacation like elevated experience l, I'd say there are much better options.

Yelp
We stayed there Aug 7th for one night. The front desk Molly didn't want to upgrade our room when they have rooms available for Marriott elite member. Also they charged us for the room when we booked thru 3rd party website and paid our room in full. This is certainly the worst hotel among all of the hotels we stayed with Marriott.

Yelp
I don't even know where to start with this place. Stayed here for 2 nights in Sedona. Upon check in, they were having trouble with my reservation even though it was booked over a month ago and I had the confirmation number. Anyway, once they finally got their reservation issues all squared away, they told me they only had 2 queen beds rather than the king I booked. Whatever, I'll take it. She claimed it was a better room anyway with a better view. Sure enough the view was beautiful, but I still would have liked my king sized bed. There are no elevators in this hotel, so we had to lug all of our stuff down 2 flights of stairs which had been freshly power washed and were quite slippery. Then since everything was wet, we proceeded to track dirt and water all throughout the room. They power washed like that both days we were there, and both days we were quite annoyed by tracking mud into our rooms. I had a little bit of work to get done while there, so I got my laptop out and logged into the wifi. It was incredibly slow. It was getting hard not to lose my patience waiting for things to load. If you were lucky enough to snag a spot, which we were the second night, you can sit out on their deck with the fire pit going and a glass of wine in hand. The only positive I have to say about this place. Lastly, I'd like to mention that if there's any wind, get ready to feel like there's a nascar race going on outside your door. The wind was howling through the bottom of the door all night long. I now see why in their welcome paper that they offer ear plugs. It was crazy how loud it was, however I feel like they could have added some weather stripping to the bottom of the door to decrease that annoyance. Sadly, I would not recommend this place nor will I be coming back. Luckily, Sedona has lots of other options for me to try next time.

Yelp
Rooms were very nice. Had a fireplace - the wife was questioning the gas smell. Very nice location and wonderful people here. With one exception of a sophomore bartender, who for another guest who had a cracked glass poured the existing contents twice! into another glass. Hospitality oops # one. They need to hire a new bartender. He was clearly unimpressed with his job and dispassionate to say the least. Sorry sky rock - clean it up and we will come back but until then ....

Yelp
Sedona is one of the most amazing, beautiful places in the world. There are so many places to stay, and I have been lucky enough to stay at some of the most "prestigious" hotels. I travel a lot, so I am a Globalist with Hyatt, NOTE: avoid the Hyatt in Sedona, they don't recognize your status and only if you are a member of the time share will you be treated like a loyal customer. The next place we started staying at was the Wilde Resort. I Loved it! Great grounds, and really friendly folks working there. The rooms are comfy and the internet was fast and helped me get my work done so I could enjoy the beautiful scenery in Sedona! While I was staying at Wilde, friend wanted to meet us at Sky Rock for happy hour, and I said, "How did I not know about this Gem"! The view from the hotel is absolutely amazing! So our next visit (this one I'm currently on) we booked the Sky Rock! I've been staying at Marriott more than Hyatt this year so I'm currently Silver, but by the end of the year I should be gold, and close to platinum. Sorry for the long set up, but I think it will explain how a 5 rating turned into a 1. This place honestly should be a 5. They have the most amazing view of those incredible red rocks! But, the hotel is old, not maintained and if you have any mobility issues you are in trouble if they don't have a room on the top floor of the hotel. When we arrived, and they knew we were traveling with a service dog because of my disability, I was told my room was down several stairs, but the ramp off the road could work, if we parked our car on the street in a do not park area to unload. Thank God my wife looked at the check in person and said "NO"! It would have been so hard for me to leave the room to get back to the car, unless my wife, pulled it up to the road entrance... so not ADA. This really should be mentioned on the Marriott site, but isn't. So that's just the first issue... we have a whole subscription here. Night 1, I wasn't able to log onto the internet. I went to the front office after an hour of trying. I was told, "that's weird, it works for me". I gave the front desk person my iPad and she couldn't log me in. I said the same thing is happening with my Iphone. So it wasn't the device. I was told, "It could be the weather". So I just shined it and we watched network tv. That evening, our room was like a wind tunnel. The front door and the back door (we are on the top floor) have no weather stripping. The heater keeps kicking on, making the room around 90 degrees, then it shuts off and the room turns into 50... rinse and repeat. The temp outside was in the 30's, so I get it, but CRAP we were sweating and freezing all night. Our goal for this trip was to relax, watch Netflix on our firestick and sleep in. We looked for do not disturb cards to put on the doors, but they didn't have them. At 9:30am we got a knock on the door, we said we are good and don't need housekeeping... went back to sleep, and 15 minutes later got a phone call asking if we want housekeeping. Ok I'm awake now... so much for sleeping in. I asked about the do not disturb signs and was told "they all blew away on the last wind storm". So they are ordering magnetic ones that haven't arrived. UGH! I get it, but Really?! Ok day two, let's shake this off... we started streaming our shows and then the internet started cutting every 20 minutes. We tried to roll with it and it was frustrating.. At 10pm we got phone call from the front desk saying our TV was too loud. I apologized and asked about the internet issue, and was told the same thing I heard last night which made me think, ok It's not going to get better. I turned down the TV and realized it was only on 15, that isn't loud! I turned it down to 10 and realized the walls are so thin here that you can't watch TV without annoying your neighbor. So we turned on closed captioning and had to read our shows. We still have 3 more nights here. I will update this, but if you have a choice... and yes we all have a choice, I would highly recommend "The Wilde" as the best place to stay in Sedona.

Yelp
One of the most beautiful vistas in Sedona. The view from the lounge and the balcony surrounding the rooms facing the eastern mountains is fantastic. The rest of the hotel is a bit of a let down by comparison but this may improve as it is undergoing a change with new Mariott ownership. Staff is friendly and helpful. Wifi is outdated and not secure. The gym has a Peloton bike in disrepair, a good treadmill and some dumbbells but is only open from 7am to 10 pm. Same with the outdoor pool. You will pay $29 a day for various things you don't want or use like shuttle service or a free crystal but you get that back in the form of a bar credit which you may use. The rooms are clean and well-maintained with décor that is very outdated - but that's not why you chose this hotel.

Yelp
We enjoyed our stay. Room was pleasant, amazing view from the shared patio in front of the rooms. We enjoyed the moon rising ceremony and the cocktail with a view. The pool and hot tub were big enough, it would have been nice to sit by the pool and have a view but it's still a very relaxing area.

Yelp
This hotel has a very nice staff, clean and comfortable rooms, an absolutely amazing view of the red rocks on all sides, and is located right next to grocery stores and restaurants. I think this hotel is the best value for your dollar.

A pretty cool place ! I would go back in a heart beat!! The scenery is unreal! People are pretty chill..

Yelp
When you first walk in to the lobby, you will be blown away by view as well as well appointed interior design. However that is where the beauty of sky rock ends. The rooms are not worth the money. For 1 night it was approximately 500 dollars and for an extra 40 we could have been at a 4 star hotel somewhere else in beautiful Sedona. The lights in the rooms were those terrible energy saving bright white light bulbs. Thr rooms had a window that over looked the walkway that everyone has to walk by to get to their room, so there is no privacy. We're supposed to leave the window shades open to take in the views that we paid for, not closed because at any minute another guest could walk by the window and see right in. The bathroom was rough. The shower looked like it was still from the 80s when they probably built the hotel. The staff was great! I will give them that. But for what you're paying for, I'd say pass on this one.

Yelp
Such a cute hotel! Everywhere you look it's beautiful. The bar staff was great especially the morning server! All the rooms back up to connected patios with warmers and firepits which made a great spot to gather with our group who had multiple rooms. I would definitely recommend walking the short trail right outside the entrance, especially at sunset! Great stay!

Yelp
Overall: 3.5 stars I guess that rounds to a 4. However, we did encounter some problems prior to arrival and trying to add a night. There was some confusion and miscommunication between the front desk lady when I tried to add a night but everything worked out because we would've had to pay around $650 for a first floor (non-view) room. Of course rates were also higher due to our Thanksgiving stay. Make sure to ask what level your room is and don't assume your room will have a view like in so many of the hotels'/customers' photographs. Atmosphere/Location: 4-5 stars. I loved stepping right outside the room and seeing the red rocks/the mountains. I also enjoyed seeing the clear skies with so many stars at night (though the winds were gnarly at the end of November and temps were 45 degrees at night and daytime temps in the high 50's/low 60's). First time in Sedona, first time staying at this hotel, and first time staying at a hotel for 2 nights that cost $650 (after $29 per night resort fee and tax)! Early check-in was not allowed. The rooms were a darker blue but I kind of liked the Native American decorations/vibe. Yes like other reviewers said, there is no microwave and that is a little inconvenient. There was a little safe inside the bathroom though that our previous hotels didn't have. Outside lights were dim so watch your steps or use your cell phone to light your path. A CVS is located across the street from the hotel and it was easy to get around town to go hiking as well as to the National park and other restaurants. Price: 2 stars. Pricey! We have stayed at some nice hotels in Vegas, newer, much bigger, with nice views for much less. Nonetheless, we did get some complimentary coffee, warm rooms with nice, hot water to shower in, and pictures with amazing views for wonderful memories!

Yelp
We booked a 2-night stay at Sky Rock Hotel in Sedona for our anniversary. Upon arrival, the front desk staff (Austin) was indifferent and made us wait a long time to check in. After finally starting the process, he disappeared to the back, only to return and inform us that the room we reserved was out of service. Worse yet, he told us the hotel was fully booked, leaving us with no place to stay. Strangely, another couple who arrived after us was given a room. Austin promised a refund and said he'd book us at a Courtyard by Marriott nearby. We received no written or email confirmation of this sudden change. When we arrived at the Marriott, it turned out the reservation was only for one night, not the two nights we originally booked. Austin failed to inform us of this crucial detail. After multiple calls to the Sky Rock Hotel and Priceline, no one has taken responsibility or provided a refund. I've contacted both Marriott corporate and our credit card company to dispute the charge. The poor customer service, complete lack of communication, and refusal to resolve the issue have been beyond frustrating. This experience ruined our anniversary and is nothing short of corporate theft.

Yelp
What a gross misrepresentation by the hotel! Don't stay here!! My wife and I paid a lot of money for a red rock view hotel room, just like the photo on the hotel website. Instead, the hotel put us in a room around the corner. We had a blank wall facing the red rock formations and the "view" from our room's window was a wall and some fencing. See photos attached. When I politely complained to the front desk, the rude employee told me that the hotel considers that a red rock view room. (Review for Sky Rock Sedona, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel)

Yelp
The Sky Rock Inn of Sedona was picture perfect. You cannot beat the view from the lobby. I appreciated the events they held in the dining area each night I was there and they even had live music at breakfast on Sunday. I did have an issue with our ac/heating unit on our first night. It rained overnight and the rain ricocheted through the unit into our room. We barely slept. I explained the situation to the front desk in the morning and requested to change rooms. They made it happen without any pushback. They even credited us back for our parking fee which we truly appreciated. Amazing service. Shoutout to the woman working the lobby bar Sunday morning. She was a character in the best way possible. I would definitely go back!

Yelp
Thieves! Stephen Yang should do a better job at hiring honest employees. 2 months later and I still haven't received my refund! I booked through American Forces Travel (Priceline) for my wife and I's anniversary. Upon arrival Austin tells us the room we booked was out of service after going to the back of the hotel, yet a couple that came after us got a room. We didn't receive a courtesy call or anything prior to our arrival. Austin stated he'd submit a refund, my mistake was not obtaining an email or hard copy confirmation. I've been trying to get my money back from Priceline but they can't process the refund since no one at Sky Rock wants to provide proof we didn't stay there. I've tried calling the hotel and emailing Austin but my number and my wives is on file so it just keeps ringing, Absolute garbage!! Stay at the Arabella instead, don't support these thieves.

Yelp
Stayed 3 nights and had a lovely time. Rooms look remodeled. Pay the extra for red rock view room. The communal patio is really nice and enough seating to accommodate all groups. We noticed two staff members in particular who were stand outs in customer service. Braedon and Yvonne were welcoming, kind, and friendly. Be sure to get the breakfast buffet package, definitely worth it!

Yelp
Had an amazing time! Spent 3 nights and enjoyed all the amenities. Free shuttle up to 3 miles, jacuzzi, tranquility room... Best feature of all is the view from the balcony. Yes, it's a community balcony however, there is plenty of space and several separate seating areas. I would absolutely stay here again!!!

Yelp
Hotel location was convenient, close to uptown! Amazing property with updated finishings, beautiful decor in rooms, and great views as well. The bed was not comfortable and sank in the middle. Don't expect a good night's sleep. Also sadly the staff member that helped us to check-in was rude and seemed biased to us. This staff member unfortunately did not have a name badge, but he was a middle aged white male. Although I had paid for an upgraded room with a view he assigned us to a corner room with no view. I was staying 3 nights at this hotel for my anniversary and purposely paid more to have a nicer upgraded view room. Also when explaining where the room was he did not highlight it on the map and instead proceeded to give us confusing directions and ultimately pointed us in the wrong direction (which we found out when we went to find our room). He got the building numbers wrong and gave us completely wrong directions as if it was his first day working there. I find this extremely rude and the opposite of what hotel hospitality should be like. I know other staff helping customers check-in had highlighted exactly where the room was on the map because the property can be confusing for first timers. I am very disappointed in this staff member's customer service and will recommend everyone I know to find different accommodations in Sedona because they deserve to be treated with respect and not discriminated. I hope he gets some DEIA training and starts to treat EVERYONE with the same customer service and respectfulness all PAYING hotel customers DESERVE.

Yelp
I enjoyed my time at Sky Rock but there are some pros & cons. For reference, I stayed in a high floor king room. Pros: Aged but mostly renovated, some areas still show the age. But you can't beat the view- 2 different views of Sedona's infamous red rocks. You can bring your pet! I brought my dog and he was kind of a jerk- he would growl or bark at new people and other dogs but then lick all the people. For a pet friendly resort, they have way too many small cacti in areas that dogs may want to use to go to the bathroom - be careful! Needs more pet stations- I only saw one Staff was friendly, patient with my dog, and helpful Bartender was nice and able to multi task. Food was better than expected Free shuttle! This is key because parking can be a pain in Sedona Great location by the airport Cons: Shower was disgusting. It was stained and rusty, and bits of something (I don't know what) started floating up from under the mat as I showered. It was so disgusting I only took one shower in my 3 days there. I told them when I checked out and they said they weren't done renovating. They probably should have started with that. The bathroom was TINY. I was by myself and good thing because I don't know how anyone else could have fit in there with me. I had to turn my legs to the side when going to the bathroom if the door was open because there wasn't enough space. A/C would kick off in middle of night so it would get stifling hot- a ceiling fan would help this but not sure if they can retroactively install. Very dry, couldn't drink enough water. And I'm from Arizona so I'm used to how dry it is, but it just drained me. I would recommend to a friend and I would stay there again, but NOT until fully renovated. Let me know when that is!

Yelp
We stayed here when we visited the Grand Canyon South Rim from the Bay Area and debated between staying in Sedona vs Flagstaff. Location wise this hotel is an excellent choice. The gorgeous view of the Red Rocks is the reason anyone would stay here. We chose a midfloor room with a view of the Red Rocks. So why only three stars. Checkin. We were given rooms which was showed on the map to be a distance away from the lobby. It was suggested we drive and park in front of the room. We had already unloaded our bags to check in and ended up driving around the property only to realize that the parking in front of our room was less than 100 ft from our original spot. So we loaded and unloaded our bag for something we could have walked to. We were not asked where we parked to save us the trouble. When we tried to use the keys at the room, they didn't work. I came back to the lobby where the first question sounded like I didn't use the keys correctly. The keys were reprogrammed and then worked. So two lobby trips, two parking trips and two times unloading the bags. Amenities: we were asked if we wanted free breakfast or points. I chose breakfast though being an elite member I mostly get breakfast included for free in most Marriott hotels. There is also a $29 amenities fee which you can use for restaurant credit. Restaurant : the most positive experience in this hotel is the attitude of the restaurant staff. The bartender is super friendly , the serving staff is very polite and helpful. We had dinner here on the second night and liked the experience. The rates on the menu - nothing to like about. It's expensive than some of the nicer restaurants in San Francisco which have great views. Eg $18 for a cocktail. Checkout: This was the time to learn a lot of new things. Turns out free breakfast was a welcome breakfast and was free only on the first morning. So we got charged for breakfast on the second day. The bill had an error and I was charged three days of destination fee when I stayed only for 2 nights. When I pointed this out, the first reaction again was that I didn't understand the calculations and I specifically pointed out the 3 times destination fee was charged, it was reversed. But I am mostly mad about the lack of clarity on breakfast when I could have eaten outside for half the price. Only coffee is complimentary which again is the case in most Marriott hotels. Rooms. Great view but the view is not visible from the bed since the bathroom covers half the wall. I have attached a picture. The bathroom itself is very small. This is a true story - the safe is right next to the toilet seat and is more accessible than the toilet paper. Not to get graphic but one has to get off the seat to pull off the toilet paper All in all not a great Marriott experience.

Yelp
We LOVED our stay at the Sky Rock Inn in Sedona! Our room was comfortable, spacious and very clean! Shout out to the staff for their excellent hospitality and service- Keele, Jared, Austin B, Austin, T, Cheryl, and Satina! Our week at Sky Rock Inn was so great we booked a block of rooms for our daughter's wedding this November!

Samra M.

Yelp
If you can get a chance to stay here, you should! What a beautiful experience! The front desk staff is so kind, Sabiha and Guadalupe (Lupita) make you feel right at home. I was lucky enough to catch live music in the lobby and what a treat. Wish I could give them more than 5 stars.

Katherine Ahnna M.

Yelp
Wow, for the price of the hotel room, we expected a wonderful experience, we were there in December 2023 for several nights @ $399 per night. The room was dirty, and the ceiling looked like it has some kind of mold growing on it, the carpet was dirty as well - we asked to have someone come in and clean the ceiling, and the bathroom as well The hotel man was wearing dirty/greasy jeans with a dirty polo shirt - not a very good representation of the hotel to say the least The view of the Sedona rocks was amazing, but otherwise it was pretty trashy, the pool was out of service, we will not be returning there ever

Yelp
We've stayed at sky rock twice. Once in 2022, once in May 2024. I'll focus on my experience in 2024 as it was more recent. 1. views are great. 2. Why is an abstract painting of Donald trump in every room. Not getting into politics here but I'm not interested in looking at him. 3. Trash can receptacles and recycling cubes are miniature sized, and it's actively annoying. One water bottle will fill the tiny recycling cube and the trash cube can't even fit one grocery plastic bag worth of trash. It's annoying, as I said. 4. No gym on site. No hot complimentary breakfast. We got permission from a nearby hotel to use their facilities as sky rock's are severely lacking. 5. Rude front desk that need lessons in hospitality and what it is about. Won't get into it, but we spent quite awhile straightening out our rooms due to their idiocy, and the attitude didn't help. One woman in particular was pretty awful, but I can't remember her name. Long black hair and big eyelashes. She just needs a crash course in hospitality. 6. No microwave, no ironing board. I brought my own hair dryer but don't see that they offer that either 7. Extra $$ to park 8. Coffee machine (unintuitive version of Keurig) sucks. Weak, bad coffee and the machine, at least ours, doesn't work consistently and fills the cup all sorts of weird amounts. 8. no complaints about housekeeping services 10. Overall the room and staff is 2-3 stars. The view and patio and level of privacy is 5 stars. Averages out to about 3.5/4star experience.
