Booked a private double room with a queen size bed. Decent size room very cleaned with a sink inside the room, which is absolutely appreciated for an hostel. Bathrooms were cleaned right next the room. Kitchen had plenty of amenities and breakfast was offered with a small extra charge. Overall one of the best hostels I have been in England so far. Very friendly staff.

My partner and I had a double room for a night. For what we paid, it was good. The room was warm and comfortable, but the mattress was very firm (like a cot bed). We had a shared bathroom and showers, with a toilet and one or more showers on each floor, which meant no waiting to use either.

Best hostel in area. Not too much traffic coming through, rooms were good and actually had usb ports to charge devices. Had a good size kitchen to cook or whatever. Reception was very nice and helpful. I’d stay here again! Also parking is free and has room for about 6 cars .

Considering the price, this accommodation offers good value. The room had a pleasant view, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The bathroom was clean, and the private parking was a convenient feature. I would recommend this place for families as well.

**Terrible Experience - Misleading Booking and Unhelpful Staff** I booked a 4-bed dorm at this hostel, but upon arrival, I was placed in an 8-bed dorm instead. I had already made my choice and paid accordingly, yet I was stuck with no options. When I requested to be moved to the 4-bed dorm that I had booked, I was told it wasn’t possible. I then asked for a refund, but again, I was told that was not an option either. I was basically forced to accept the situation without any recourse. The staff didn’t even acknowledge the problem of selling a service they couldn’t provide. To make things worse, the lock on the room didn’t work, so anyone could walk in and steal belongings. In 3 weeks of traveling around Scotland, I have never encountered anything like this. Avoid this place if you want a reliable and safe experience.

The rooms was Ok, cofy and warmer. And the staff super friendly and Welcoming.! I really recommended! Oh and the area is super quiet.

Best place I’ve stayed regarding hospitality, didn’t have room in their rooms due to being fully booked but allowed us to put a tent up on their land & use their facilities such as showers, toilets, kitchen. Nice staff and good volunteers in the place helping. Thanks guys appreciate it a lot

I love this hostel. It's friendly and comfortable and everyone is very hospitable. It is just a place to rest your head, so don't expect sky tv in all the rooms, and be prepared for bunk beds. But that's what you expect from a hostel. And you know what? It's absolutely fine! The sheets are clean, the rooms are clean, and there are quirky little touches that make you go 'awwww.' Better yet -they have a house cat! Laxziest and most unfriendly cat ever, but awesome nonetheless. The lounge is my favourite bit to be honest. I stayed here about 10 years ago and the lounge was what I remembered the most, and remains virtually unchanged. It has a fireplace that in the chilly evenings is cozy and warm, and everyone in the hostel congregates to this room. You end up chatting to people from all over the world, sharing a whisky or a beer. I will make mention of the toilets and showers. Clean. But few in number. We stayed at the front part where there were two rooms, with six beds each, and one toilet and one shower. Luckily they were separate doors altogether, but made it tricky for shower timings. Furthermore after a particularily booze filled Christmas eve in the pub, trying to find a toilet from the lounge took me up three flights of stairs where I couldn't work out the lightswitch. That's not entirely the fault of the hostel, but more my inebriation. It was interesting to say the least ;) Overall, Kyleakin is not a big village by any stretch of the imagination. But they have three hostels, and a hotel. When I was there at Christmas, just the one pub, although supposedly more will open up. It's a good base for travelling around skye, and it's well priced. In the evenings you can go to the pub, or play boardgames in the hostel. Even...take a cheeky swim in Kyle Akin, as some were want to do on a chilly boxing day morning. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here, all three times I stayed.
