6 luxurious hotels in snowy destinations to book for the future - SilverKris

"A high-end, ski-in/ski-out resort in a famed Japanese ski village composed of 105 apartments and suites that embrace the omotenashi philosophy; interiors are minimalist yet plush, with expansive windows that flood rooms with light. Upscale options include the Annupuri West four-bedroom penthouse (237 m²) with an outdoor firepit and floor-to-ceiling slope views, and many accommodations can be prepped with champagne or wine on arrival. The on-site onsen sources water from nearby thermal streams for mineral-rich soaks, and some penthouses feature private outdoor onsens; winter packages offer flexible booking and discounted rates." - Rachel Eva Lim

By far our best stay ever in Niseko! The staff were exceptionally helpful and proactive, which can be rare in Niseko, especially during peak holiday periods. The guest login portal and concierge services were extremely useful, clearly showing all of our booked transfers, ski lessons, and rentals. Booking the private onsens via the in-room tablets was effortless and especially appreciated during busy times, where the public ones are quiet full. The complimentary laundry and dryers made it easy to wash ski gear. Breakfast was excellent, and dinners were even better. The provided pajamas / samue swere high quality, so much so that we purchased sets to bring home. A very short walk to two separate gondolas offered great flexibility and ski choices each morning. Heated floors both in the room and in the bathroom. Shuttle service into town. All of the small extras made our trip really easy. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. We have already made a follow-up booking for a return stay. A+++

By far the best location and best apartment hotel in Niseko. Beautifully appointed rooms with an outlook over the ski field, easy to use in room appliances, the bar and restaurant serves amazing food and drinks, the staff are knowledgeable which shows they have been staff trained, the breakfast on offer was broad with western and Asian options that were of a high quality. The location means you can easily access, family base, ace gondola and king gondola. If you’re having lessons it helps to be close to these. If you know how to ski your in the right spot to go in your own direction up the mountain. Would recommend Skye Niseko and would stay here again.

I’m not usually one to write reviews, but our stay at Skye Niseko was so exceptional it genuinely deserves recognition. From the moment we checked in to the moment we departed, the level of service was among the very best I’ve experienced anywhere in the world — and I say that as someone who managed five-star hotels in a former life. What stood out most was the consistency. Every single staff member, across every department, delivered warm, confident, intuitive service — especially remarkable given it was opening week of the season. That doesn’t happen by accident. There is clearly something very special happening behind the scenes. Breakfast staff, bar team, onsen crew, rentals… even the legends clearing snow from our car multiple times a day — every interaction was thoughtful, professional and genuinely caring. We did have a small issue around cancelling a driver service, and even that was handled with calm professionalism and real empathy. Problems are inevitable; how they’re handled is what defines excellence — and Skye absolutely nailed it. A huge credit to the GM and the entire team. Outstanding work. I hope you all have a brilliant winter season — and manage to steal plenty of days on the mountain yourselves. Warm regards, Sean, Gavin & Yasmin

It was just a great few days. Lovely location close to the Ace Gondola. Breakfast was brilliant, rooms are toasty warm and the staff were plentiful, kind and helpful at all times. Having the ski valet made life very easy and the shuttle bus was handy too. Thankyou Nico for your assistance with our noisy neighbours. Finally, to the fellow Aussies going barefoot in the restaurant, you're a disgrace. Do better!

Just returned from a 7 night stay at Skye Niseko. This was my favourite hotel stay ever. The facilities were faultless, staff in all areas were very attentive and a fantastic location. My friend and I stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment and it was impeccable; so well equipped with everything and very clean. They have thought of everything. Snowboard hire and valet was remarkable, private onsens, great breakfast with great service. I can’t wait to return. It was a six star holiday. Thanks from Gavin and Sean.

I am extremely disappointed with my stay at this hotel. For a room that costs nearly 40,000 yen per night, the service quality was shockingly poor. The hotel doesn’t even provide two complimentary bottles of water. I called the night before to request two bottles and was told they wouldn’t deliver them, but that housekeeping would replace them the next day. The next day came, and nothing was provided, they simply forgot. The hotel follows a system of “simple cleaning” one day and “full cleaning” the next, which I understand is meant to be environmentally friendly. However, their own guidelines clearly state that towels will be replaced during eco-cleaning. After housekeeping, the towels were not replaced at all. The staff were also highly unprofessional. When an insect entered my room, I called for help. The staff member tried to catch it, failed, and then lied to me by saying it was gone. As soon as they left, I checked and found the insect still there. The location is also mediocre. You need to take a shuttle to reach the ski resort, and the room view is completely blocked by a partition wall placed only about five meters from the window, so there is nothing to see. The only positive aspect of the room was that the kitchen was well equipped. For the price I paid, this level of service is completely unacceptable. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Our rooms at Skye Niseko were as beautiful as the pictures. The location was terrific - It was ski in/out. Breakfast was amazing, you were seated quickly and the food could not been more varied and was delicious. Everyone was knowledgeable, and helpful.

There is private onsen available for free, you can book it multiple times during your stay (one at each time). Drawback is that you have to pay for reserved parking within the property, or else you can go to the nearby welcome centre public parking which is free (overnight parking allowed only for summer, not winter). Staff are friendly and professional, the standard of English here is much better than the average hotel. I like the 2-bedroom apartment as it’s spacious, clean and each bedroom has its own attached bathroom while we can all come out to the roomy living room and kitchen. Panoramic windows offer views of Mount Yotei. The in-room washing machine cum dryer is great too.
