Skyewalker Hostel

The warmest of welcomes in a cosy warm & welcoming very unhostel-like old school conversion. Everywhere is immaculate. Beds most comfy. Kitchen genuinely far better kitted out than home. The location served perfect for exploring the whole island if you have transport - but also many lovely walks from your doorstep. The value added touches here are what makes it so special tho - the decor, the art, the toilet door quizzes ... the stunning outdoor dome (midgie&weatherproof haven which lights up with solar lights at dusk) is a convivial social hub and bliss for enjoying night skies). There is a generosity of spirit and trust that guests will act considerately rather than rules and instructions everywhere. If you are exceptionally lucky, as we were, you may even get treated to wonderful live music while you are there. Book at least 2 more nights than you were planning to.

My partner and I spent three wonderful night at Skyewalker on our trip to Scotland. Truth be told, 80% of the reason for booking was the name - the rest the location 😄 Turned out to be truly amazing. As soon as we got in, Tim welcomed us with ALL the information we could ever need and then some to make the most of our journey. We also had a lovely chat with the owner, whose name we unfortunately didn't grab. Everyone there and the guests were great company. The place is a great base to start your adventures, only 40ish min drive to Portree and a wee bit more to places like Quiraing and the like! And only a short bit away from the most delicious oysters ever in Carbost ❤️ though don't even think of trying to come without a car. If we ever make it back to Skye, this place is high up on our return-to list - thanks for the great time, enjoy your time off soon!

Tim and Georgia were a wealth of information for our travels and Scottish history. Kitchen roomy, clean, organized, well equipped. Bathrooms/showers cleanest ever. Comfy rooms with more than enough space. Spacious, comfortable sitting room and dining areas. Eclectic decor. Neighborhood wonderful, quiet, although a wee bit of a challenge to drive to on the single lane roads. Worth it!

Really can't complain, as good as a hostel could possibly get! Lovely atmosphere, everyone perfectly friendly, excellent facilities such as the kitchen and the ablutions. Beds and bedding were really comfy, would absolutely stay again. A freezer and washing machine would've been nice, other than that, 9.5/10. Would recommend!

I have enjoyed staying in hostels for fifty years! This is one of the best in my opinion. My husband and I stayed in a garden hut. It was great, very private. Used the kitchen and other areas in the common space. Everything clean, tidy and top notch.

Absolutely amazing stay - we took a 2-bunk bed room and have 0 complaints. The place is crystal clean, the kitchen is fully equipped, and the hosts are absolutely wonderful; they will take their time and show you around/give you recommendations for your travels around Skye. We cannot thank Brian and Lisa enough for their kindness and generosity, this is definitely the place for me from now on whenever I'm in Skye!

My friends and I only stayed for a night at the Skyewalker hostel, but it was a warm welcome after a full day of traveling through the Isle of Skye. Of course what drew us to the hostel in the first place was the play on Star Wars, but we were pleasantly pleased to discover that the hostel was so well kept and cozy. The bathrooms felt clean and we appreciated that the showers were also cleaned and guests were encouraged to mop up after their showers. The staff member that gave us the tour was very hospitable and kind. Overall it was a very enjoyable experience and would definitely recommend that anyone staying in Skye give Skyewalker Hostel a stay!

This was one of the top Hostels I have ever stayed at. Absolutely beautiful and clean facilities. The staff was the best part however. They were so warm, friendly and helpful. There was an Island wide power outage and they made the effort to drive out and buy food and snacks for everyone. We would love to go back!
