My wife and I stayed here on our drive through Shenandoah. The office and restaurant are in one place and you drive to the room that we had. It was in the Raven’s Nest building. The room was good, there were some dead bugs. It is a fine place to stay. The views are great and staff friendly. It was recommended to get in line at 5:00 for dinner, as they don’t take reservations. We got seated by the window and another beautiful vista. My wife had campfire trout that was a little fishy but good. My pork shank and grits were very good, if a little under seasoned. Skip the bread basket, chewy and un appetizing. Service is fast and casual. We are very happy that we stayed here.

Great halfway point on Skyline Drive Really nice views and exceptional customer service Research you room thoroughly because there are a variety of rooms at various locations ranging from sparse and rustic to those with more amenities and better views. We stayed just one night this November and had dinner. room was nice for a one night stay . Dinner was subpar and lacking presentation and flavor, overpriced for the quality. most likely because they were closing in one week. Everyone who works there is super nice, friendly and very helpful.

A nice place in the great outdoors. The staff are so friendly, a big shout out to Jeff who drives the shuttle. Do not judge the rooms by the dark brown exterior. My room had a lovely balcony and a very comfortable bed. Good lighting and a great shower. The restaurant has a little different type of menu, but there were healthier options. A very cute gift shop as well. Two gorgeous sunsets.

We had a really fun stay at Skyline Shenandoah! The views were beautiful, and the experience felt relaxing and unique at the same time. The place was clean, well-maintained, and perfect for getting away from the city and enjoying nature. Everything was thoughtfully set up, making the stay comfortable and easy. Definitely a memorable experience, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and peaceful getaway. we also found a local artist to showcase her artwork. This is her oil paintings. If anyone is interested, please reach out me, to support local artist.

We spent three nights in a two-room "premium" suite at Skyland and really enjoyed it. The room was extremely clean and quiet, and within walking distance of the restaurant and retail/gift shop. The bathroom was very modern. We had daily housekeeping to remove trash and replenish towels, but they did not make/change the beds. We thought the beds were a little hard and the sofa cushions way too soft (past their useful life). There were two TVs with many channels and the microwave and mini-frig were appreciated. Heating/cooling were quiet and worked great. We really enjoyed the wood and fire starter logs for the fireplace, although it briefly set off the smoke alarm. The website says wi-fi is only available in the reception area, but we had service in our room. There were many outlets in the room to charge your devices. Food in the Mountain Taproom at Skyland was great, but at Big Meadows New Market Taproom, only marginal. Overall, we thought Skyland had nicer rooms and restaurants than Big Meadows. Staff were friendly and helpful everywhere we went. Skyland is very close to many popular hikes (including those at Big Meadows), with some originating from this location. Unfortunately, the view(s) to the west in this area of the park are indecipherable from one Skyline Drive outlook/trail observation point to another. All beautiful, however, at this time of year.

We have visited Skyland literally for decades and returned again this fall. The Skyline drive and the surrounding area is absolutely gorgeous, especially in the fall when the leaves are turning. The lodge is comfortable though rustic. Unfortunately, we were in the lodge on the ground floor so our view was interrupted by the shrub growth. The top floor would have been much better. They have wifi, although it is mostly unusable. That being said, the slow wifi forces you to turn off your electronics and enjoy the scenery. Will we go again? Absolutely.

We got caught at Skyland by accident, attempting to leave Skyline Drive on our first visit late at night, and now return every year. The rustic, accommodating resort is a hiker's paradise, offering adjacent trail heads, stables, a satisfying restaurant and pub with long hours, and large picture windows throughout overlooking Shenendoah Valley for killer panoramic views. Our private room in the lodge was charming, spacious and clean, and the bed comfortable, although the balcony facing entrance door was very drafty. Our premium room had a TV set, medium fridge and good water pressure but no in room phone or internet service. We sat down this year to watch the November sunset over the Blue Risge Mountains from the comfort of a rustic room and a bottle of wwine. After sunset we went to the lodge restaurant for some warm stew and berry pie, and then went to sit before the cozy fire in the lounge and play table games while the stars glowed brightly above before retiring to a warm and cozy room.

My husband and I just got back from a two night stay at Skyland. I have been wanting to stay there for years. In general, our stay was very nice. We reserved a "Premium" room and were assigned a room in Raven's Nest. There are a total of eight buildings that have premium rooms. The room was clean, but definitely rustic. We were given a room on the first floor and I regret that I didn't ask if we would have a balcony. Our room opened up to a patio, which did not feel private. Also, the view would have been better from the second floor. If you are hoping for a nice view from your room, make sure you ask to be placed on the second floor. You might have to carry your suitcases up a flight of stairs, but that would have been worth it for me. We loved waking up, eating breakfast, and then heading directly to one of the many trails available near the lodge. During our stay we had three meals in the Pollock Dining Room (2 breakfast, 1 dinner) and one dinner in the Taproom. Dinner last night (Saturday) in the Taproom was chaotic. They were definitely short staffed for the amount of people who wanted to eat there. The staff was great, but simply could not handle the crowd. The whole meal felt very stressful and we couldn't wait to leave. I was surprised that we never saw any type of manager attempting to help the servers or bartender. Our dinner on Friday and breakfast on Saturday morning were wonderful. Food was good and the view spectacular. Attached is the view we had a dinner on Friday night. If we go again, I would brings some backup food to our room so we wouldn't be forced to eat in the dining rooms. Also, plan to eat early before the rush arrive (prior to 6:30pm). Lastly, if you have a choice, opt to eat in the Pollack Dining Room even if you have to wait. Otherwise, enjoy your time in the beautiful mountains.
