My family traveled to Iceland to see Jokulsarlon, and this was one of the few affordable accommodations in the area. My family stayed two nights in two rooms which both had amazing views. The guesthouse is cute, cozy, quiet, clean, comfortable, and welcoming. We brought a bunch of groceries and prepared simple meals. There was juice, milk, tea, coffee, and happy marriage cake available for free in the kitchen. We stayed at three hostels in Iceland, and this was our favorite. I suggest booking early before it sells out.

The location is excellent, as it is close to the glaciers and attractions like Diamond Beach. The space is clean, and there is staff available to assist with check-in. The kitchen is well-equipped, and they even prepared a cake for us, which was a nice touch. There are enough bathrooms for the number of rooms, ensuring a comfortable stay.

Long email sent in advance to explain quiet hours, kitchen usage, down to details of what equipment there are to use, etc, but there was no mention of the no-shoe rule until we checked in. We needed to walk around high traffic and dirty areas including toilets and bathrooms barefoot or in socks. The no-shoe rule is an awesome idea to keep the place clean. I just had no clue why they had to keep it a secret up until people checked in. I would have packed slippers in the luggage.

The most special thing about this place is its location to all the attractions. It's nice after a day of adventuring around to just be able to drive 10 minutes from diamond Beach and glacier Lagoon and settle into your bed for a quick nap. The host was fantastic although it is a self check in process (not complicated) but it is a no frills experience. the beds were comfortable which is the most important thing. the bathrooms are communal and have no frills. the kitchen had all the things you need to cook a meal so I would make sure to bring food as they don't have many options in the area and therefore the pricing is kinda high. This guest house did have food options available for sale mostly pasta no refrigerated items. Bolognese park for someone who didn't realize the food situation of a $50 chicken at the restaurant down the street.

It is a cozy, rustic hostel in the small village of Hali, just minutes from the famous Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon. Offering budget-friendly accommodations with a homey touch, this hostel is perfect for adventurers seeking proximity to some of Iceland’s most iconic natural wonders while enjoying a warm and welcoming atmosphere. It has great tours to the Ice Caves! Must go.

Such a lovely host! Very helpful and a great kitchen. Everything was very clean and all the cooling utensils you need! In an ideal location for Jorkulson glacier activities and to see the northern lights! Would 100% recommend for family/ friends to stay !

Cozy hostel with lots of amenities: coffee, tea, skyr and milk included as well as a homemade desert. Well isolated, we didn't hear noise from our room.

Wonderful 2 night stay in this lovely hostel that feels like a home away from home! The hosts made us feel so welcome and are very knowledgeable about the local area and Iceland in general. The kitchen has all you need to prepare your meals. |Extra bonus was the delicious Marriage cake that magically appears every evening. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable!
