Ordered a small black coffee. Was made fast. Too fast. Wasn’t weak, but could tell I was drinking bean water. Didn’t like that the logo was covered on the cup. A blunder. Lively atmosphere and had a secret section. Overall nice experience.

Such a cool spot with great artwork and a creative seating layout. The atmosphere is fun and the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive.

The coffee was great. Space was clean. And my time would have been great had it not been for the two baristas working up front. It seemed like they hated being there, and were unwilling to help even when I just asked for a lid. Please teach your staff better customer service, or at the very least the ability to smile.

Had a lovely visit at this cafe. Gorgeous art, delightful staff, clean bathrooms, yummy treats. 10/10 highly recommend!

This is a super cute cafe!! I come here often and would recommend it for the good treats (very yummy white cheddar and chive scones), a solid cup of coffee, ample seating, and large windows. One thing I am a bit sad about is that most of the outlets are so loose to the extent that it’s almost impossible to charge your laptop/phone without the plug falling out of the outlet completely. However, that aside- this is a beautiful cafe, just hope they’ll fix the outlet issue soon.

Chill coffee shop in the annex! There’s lots of seating and the art on the walls is so cool!! I enjoyed the iced americano.

The art and vibes here are so lovely. I discovered new artists and really enjoy how they are showcased. The staff is nice too. The only thing that was just so so was the coffee. It was ok. A bit bitter and not the best. That being said I’d go back to do some work and chill, because the atmosphere is nice.

I dropped in for a Chai tea latte and a medium brewed coffee ☕️. Wow 🤩 and wow was the Chai tea latte delicious… 🤤… it is craveable !!! The service is super fantastic. I sampled their baked goodies and it did not disappoint 😀. It is another wonderful local business in the Annex neighbourhood. The vibe is eclectic and vibrant. Please 🙏 drop in for some wonderful drinks and food and then let us all know what your thoughts 💭 are. Happy Eats everyone 😀

Yelp
This is a nice little coffee shop that serves a variety of drinks and pastries. The inside is relatively spacious and quite clean. I tried the hojicha iced latte which was quite nice. The flavors were mild and it was not too bitter.

Yelp
Always come here for their selection of muffins! Love their pumpkin crumble, their blueberry crumble, and their raspberry crumble. If you're like me and a muffin lover, through and through, this is one place you may have already visited. As they tend to be usually sold out of muffins mid day. They have a rather spacious dining room. An upper area with lots of natural light and features art on the walls from a local artist. Their downstairs dining room is also very spacious and light too. The energy balls they sell are rather tasty as well and can be swapped easily as a meal replacement. Love that there is a good, a safe distance between their washrooms and where people eat because washrooms in any establishment can be a scary place. It is important to keep that as far away from where people eat as possible. And the location of the washrooms at the Slanted door is very ideal and private. This is a very popular spot as there are always people sitting in, having meetings, hanging out with friends, working, etc. Last summer they were selling coffee lemonade, which was mentioned as a trend at the time. I was intrigued by the concept of lemon and coffee together so I tried it out. Yet I can't say I would try it again. It really wasn't for me. A nice place to change the ambiance of the day- to-day. And watch the goings on of bloor street.

Yelp
Delightful coffee with an incredible atmosphere. I frequent this place because I love looking at all the art while I work. It is really such an incredible place with super friendly staff, I would highly recommend!

Yelp
Exactly what I needed on a cold rainy day: a medium latte with almond milk. Slanted Door incorporates local artists' work with the chill, fun, and social environment of a coffee shop. With large beautiful art work displayed on all walls, I was wondering about their coffee. And it definitely does not upset! The medium cup (in house) was way larger than I expected and most coffee shops sell lattes for this price ~$5 in a rather small cup. Super smooth latte, great service, large space, and delicious coffee! Plus the succulents are so cute and that's an added bonus!

Yelp
Great discovery. This is a really nice place to casually chill with friends or do work. There is a bottom level with a mini art gallery and seating space as well. This is a new cafe that has been opened for about three months. The service was excellent and very accomodating. The size of drinks are well worth the price and they were yummy too! Definitely coming back if I'm in the area and recommending others to visit.

Yelp
Beautiful and modern coffee shop with pastries. Art gallery downstairs and many art pieces upstairs as well. Quiet and clean. Great space to meet up or get some work done. Had the turmeric latte, cortado and mct coffee. All were delicious. Served in china mugs for less waste.

Yelp
I'm from the neighbourhood and was happy to see a new independent coffee shop opened up. I regularly like to try new coffee shops vs. getting coffee from Starbucks, Tim's etc. I gave this place two chances - the first, a scorching hot summer day I was craving an iced coffee so I decided to try Slanted Door. Now, I should point out all their coffee comes from a machine and not the usual barista equipment I'm used to. My iced coffee was hot coffee poured over a couple ice cubes, and by the time I got outside the whole thing melted and became a lukewarm watered down coffee. I know on hot days iced coffee doesn't stay iced as long, but it usually lasts much longer than a few minutes. I recently returned here, to give it a second chance. I got an iced latte to stay. Again, whatever machines their espresso/coffee comes out of melted the ice, and despite the fact that it was served in a glass this time instead of plastic, the ice still melted in seconds again becoming a watery lulewarm drink. I tried to give them a second chance but I was disappointed once more. However, I have not tried their hot coffee which I'm sure would be a more pleasant experience, so I don't want to completely write them off. They have a lovely atmosphere and an art gallery downstairs which displays art from local artists. So I would recommend this place as a quiet place to do work and view art, but I would discourage anyone from ordering iced coffee and just stick to hot beverages here

Yelp
Very spacious and sunny, with cool Art all around, and a small gallery in the basement. The music they play is your standard pop music, and the coffee is meh at best.

Yelp
This is my favourite coffee shop in toronto. Great for writing and meeting up with people. Great coffee too

Yelp
Great food and drinks but black people be warned the white folks who go there will be looking you up and down discretely or in a conspicuous way when they have to leave their computer to go to the counter or washroom.

Yelp
Nice "HOT" coffee, yummy treats, excellent service and environment. Wish we have more of these cafe in uptown

Yelp
What a great find! Was walking though the Annex when I saw Slanted Door. I popped in for a coffee and was pleasantly surprised. The coffee they use has great flavour and you can actually taste a difference from the typical other vendors. The decor and art make the space very nice to sit and just enjoy your coffee. Went back again the next day and got a chai latte. Probably the best chai latte I've found in Toronto! They make their syrup in-house and it has such a good and bold flavour. It's also not too sweet which is great. Found my new go-to cafe!

Yelp
This place adds to the fabric of Toronto's art culture and food scene. Great place with good vibes.

Yas I.

Yelp
The place is spacious but bleak and empty in a way. You tip the "baristas" because that's the first thing that comes up on the machine, but in the end they'll just shout your order across the counter anyway. Didn't enjoy my experience much.

Kelly G.

Yelp
Great ambience, love that they are supporting local artists. Nice spot to hang out or do work. I do not recommend their coffee. Baked goods look tasty but I didn't try any of them.

Sirk R.

Yelp
I've tried the beef sandwich, butter croissant and cheese and chive scone. All to die for. So glad I can visit this place on the regular. Their coffee is pretty good too. I love that they have benches outside there place as well where you can sit outside sometimes.

Vic L.

Yelp
The staff is friendly and the propeller coffee they serve is so good! Beautiful artwork as well.
