Slate is a classy, intimate restaurant with a wonderful atmosphere, complete with gas lanterns. I’ve been there 10+ times. They have fantastic cocktails and a small rotating menu of good food and wood fired pizza. Their food tends to be elevated and usually very flavorful. They’re on the verge of 5-star in my book but you shouldn’t be disappointed here and I will definitely return. I would recommend reservations.

Magical Dining Experience was great! Atmosphere: Fine dining look, I loved the design and how open the restaurant is. Volume was moderate. Service: This place accepts reservations so I highly recommend doing so. The hostess and the waitress were very nice, provided everything we needed including questions. Food: We ordered the three-course meal from magical dining and it was great, however I do wish they provided a few more options and upgrades on the menu. For appetizer, the hush puppies is a must, you won’t regret it! For entrees, I had a strip loin which was delicious along with some veggies. Would be nice to have more but I was definitely satisfying with the whole courses. My wife has the slate chicken that was also delicious as well. Something I highly recommend is the truffle fries, they are to die for! Verdict: I would definitely come back to try other entrees. The vibe was great, order some wine and it’ll be a delightful time! I believe the food could be better on the portion side but other than that, loved it!

Love Slate so much! The whole staff has always made me feel at home. The excellent menu from chef Kevan, especially the recent tasting menu, has blown me away. The lovely execution of dishes by chef Ashley is always a treat! If drinks are your thing, they’ve got that covered too. My favorites are the spice so nice and a cosmopolitan. Can’t recommend this place enough 😁 Update October 6 2021: There was this one pizza, spicy chicken prosciutto, that got me hooked. Since then I’ve found the mushroom with shrimp to be excellent and will be my go-to!

Came here for magical dining month. We got a an appetizer, main plate and a dessert. This is my first time at slate so I’m not sure what the serving portions are on regular times but the magical dinning month servings were okish. The bread pudding servings were ridiculously small. Which is sad because we love trying bread puddings. The chocolate cheesecake serving was better. So my review is 8/10 on the hush puppies (they needed more sauce) 8/10 on the prime rib (medium steak was nice and red but a bit dry) Not a fan of chocolate but the chocolate cheesecake was really good. My wife’s bread pudding was also really good (but small serving) They seemed a bit busy but the service was excellent! food took a while to come out.. but we got two bottles of bubbles so that keeps us entertained. I say 4 stars. We might come back and try regular portions

Took my fiance here for his birthday. Absolutely fantastic!!! Service phenomenal!! Food phenomenal!! Mushroom popovers were amazing! I had the lamb it was the best lamb I have ever eaten. The dessert was a peanut butter and cherry sponge cake thing it sounds/tastes better than I am describing. Will come back!! (Not sure if allergy friendly I took a Benadryl to have the popovers. They are a scratch kitchen though)

Slate is the best kept secret in Orlando. The food is really good and the price is just right. I had the roasted romaine lettuce salad along with grilled shrimp. The fried breakfast potatoes are to die for. I also tried their infused ginger vodka drink that has pineapple in lime in it. It was very tasty. The food was so good. I had to take the smoked brisket scrambled eggs to go. Destiny was an excellent waitress. The chef actually prepares his food with a smile on his face. His Sue Chef and Side Chef was a delight to see in action. Slate is a great family atmosphere. You can see the staff love what they do . Great customer service. Nice family atmosphere. When you come to Orlando, if you miss this place, you have missed the best part of Orlando. The Slate staff(Family) is very diverse along with their customers.

Impeccable service. Meatballs were not so much to my liking. The steak was good, cooked right and the sauce was great with the potatoes. The Apple desert thongs were good but the sauce again made it great. My only issue is this. The price to portion was lacklustre (less to be desired). For just above 80 u can get water 2 meals and a minor desert. Tip not included. The ambience is nice, scenery, lighting, service and all. Just be prepared to be hungry later on. Hint* request more sauce with these 2 items. Is recommend this as a nice first date place. Not too casual and not too over the top. Also this place is somewhat hard to find. It's on the corner of Trader Joe's store.

Please repeat after me… food coma, and well worth it. My nine-year-old, a major foodie, also ranted and raved about his experience today along with his two buddies. The restaurant is kid friendly with fantastic food and mock-tail choices. We visited Slate today for brunch and had a complete sampling of some of their top brunch items. There were 10 of us, and everyone enjoyed each entree served. The service that we received from our waitress named “Carlson” and the attention given to us by the general manager “Kin” was outstanding. We were a bit lazy today and didn’t want to think much, so we opted to have them surprise us with a family-style serving of their best recommendations. Please see pictures of the following items. We started with a round of shots called Southern Hospitality, followed by bottomless mimosas, which were $20 per person for an hour. The shots (also served as a specialty drink) were refreshing and tasty, with a beautiful strawberry and lemongrass finale. The kids enjoyed a blueberry-lemonade Mocktail also very tasty and refreshing. While enjoying our drinks, plates of food started flying from the kitchen, where we began with the Pancetta & Pepper Jack hush puppies and seasonal pancakes. The hush puppies were the best I’ve ever had. They were crispy on the outside and deliciously gooey on the inside. We also had the Brioche French toast, Shrimp and Grits, Chicken Fingers, Croque Madame Croissant, and Brisket Benedict. All prepared deliciously and garnished handsomely. The only thing we wished during this experience was the ability to add on another stomach to continue eating. Lol! A special thanks to Carlson and KIn for taking such good care of our group. We will be back.
