We loved the breakfast brunch! A variety of cuisines listed and options for sweet and savory. I loved the savory scone- my favorite part of the meal! We shared the scone because it had a lot of oil and it was filling. I really liked the marketfish rice bowl as well, it had flavorful sauce and it was healthy. I added the updated menu in the photos.

Google
Very good food! We loved the prawn - it’s served cold but so delicious. The focaccia is amazing. My duck was a little chewy, but very tasty. Everything tastes so fresh and you can tell they love cooking.

Google
Hidden gem for sure! So cute inside, and the brunch menu had a splendid assortment of dishes. I ordered the Okonomiyaki Benedict 🤤 WOOOW! Also tried the Utah scone (savory) with smoked cheddar rillettes #yum

Google
It was a little try hard for me. There’s nothing particularly special about the atmosphere or space. We got a few dishes and they were fine, but no wow factor. I would come here again if someone else wanted to come, but probably not of my own accord. When the server says the crust of the cheesecake is tough… probably not a place that’s worth the $$.

Google
Portlander visiting SLC Eatery by way of local recommendation! I'm a major foodie and I was looking for a brunch spot during my visit. This place did not disappoint! Except the seating layout options could be optimized. In my reservation, I specifically requested to NOT be sat by the kitchen, and yet... The hostess takes us to a table adjacent to the kitchen. Had My reservation been for even an hour later in the day where the restaurant was completely full, I wouldn't have been able to switch tables. Thus, likely putting a sour taste in my experience there. (I just don't like to sit near kitchens, they are loud, it's not an unreasonable or uncommon request). More cozy chairs would be an idea! The menu was fire. No complaints there.

Google
wow, just wow! this restaurant is fantastic! they come around with a dim sum cart full of hot and cold options to pick from and that is such a fun concept to try new small plates! the shrimp were phenomenal i will say! as for entrees the mafaldine was absolutely delicious i wanted to lick the plate clean. the bison as well was wonderful and tender. oh and the service was so great! it was a great night having dinner here! 10/10 am recommending to anyone looking for somewhere new to try modern american classic dishes with a unique twist!

Google
Amazing ambiance. This restaurant was a full on experience. Dim sum carts provide the opportunity to view the appetizers prior to purchasing them. I had the calamari fried rice, NY strip, Apple cheesecake puff pastry and washed it all down with a Hot Toddy. The calamari fried rice was jam packed with flavor and the crunchy rice was a nice touch. The NY strip was cooked to perfection and was so tender. The smoked potatoes and broccolini were also delicious. The dessert was heavenly and the hot toddy was refreshing and perfect for the colder weather. Overall SLC Eatery gets 5 stars for me. It was clean, staff was friendly and helpful, and it’s a great place to bring your friends or significant others. It’s on the pricier side and I splurged a bit after tipping I spent $100 total. For the price it was well worth it!

Google
This was a fun spot that’s worth trying. Didn’t notice the two parking spots out front so we had to park down the street a little. The Utah scone was the highlight of the visit. The desserts off the cart were tasty, but the two chocolate/ricotta donuts weren’t anything special. One of the dessert was vegan and you would never know it! We were impressed with it but I’d like for it to have had a stronger pistachio flavor. The smoked cheddar drop biscuits were good, but I realized that I didn’t notice any cheese as the name implies. There was also a pretty strong fennel flavor, so if that’s something you don’t like I’d choose something different.

Yelp
Came here for brunch. I ordered the mushroom omelette with their homemade potatoes on the side. So good!!! The omelette was piled with mushrooms and the potatoes had the perfect texture. The service was great because they come around with a cart to please you with the deserts and they are always on top of replenishing your drinks. Mood is a little bit crazy because there is so much action going on and the restaurant is always packed with people. Highly recommended when you are craving brunch!

Yelp
It was our best dinner at SLC - hands down. We will be back again when visiting. Great , clean, delicious, well priced, and unpretentious. Staff was great and even received recommendations for other spots to visit. Unfortunately, there was not a better spot after dining here. Great job SLC Eatery!

Yelp
I've been wanting to go here for a long time, and finally did to celebrate my birthday. The place is unassuming outside but just lovely inside! Our server was lovely, prompt, but not overly so. The food, amazing!! We started with a frog bench farms salad that had a green goddess Caesar dressing. Perfect. Then a chickpea artichoke tapenade with labneh and roasted red peppers (I think). It was supposed to come with focaccia but they had to sub sourdough. This dish was really delicious, I wish we had another piece of bread for it! They had a pasta special my son got; agnolotti filled with shrimp and ricotta with a butter chorizo and corn sauce. He loved it. I got the coriander noodles with lamb sauce which were one of the best things I've eaten! Our server said it has been on the menu for two seasons now it's so popular. We finished with a miso stone fruit cake. Very good, dense and tart and not overly sweet. My one complaint about SL eatery is the website is not updated, it shows the winter menu, so I was not able to look it up ahead of time.

Yelp
A modern take on classic brunch. The food was delivered very quickly and our waiter was kind and welcoming. If you're looking for a classy brunch spot, SLC Eatery is the place to go. I also appreciate how they didn't cut our alcoholic asses off after two bottles of champagne.

Yelp
The Turnip "Scallops" are bad. Colossal disappointment for our extravagant dinner out. Dish consists of uninspired half cup of lentils and bitter yet still bland grilled tubers better suited to the trough. Nonetheless, everyone else in my party couldn't be more pleased with their entrees. May not look like much on the outside but is very nicely decorated and cozy inside. Upscale without being snobby about it.

Yelp
The outside doesn't look like much - Don't be fooled. Inside is awesome. Food was awesome!!!!! Service great!!!!! Meatballs yummy!!!! Burger yummy yummy yummy! Super great place!!!! 6 star place! Easy street parking - must try place!

Yelp
Ambiance: cute and cozy - great place to take friends or a date. Servers were super friendly. Came here for my boyfriend's birthday and they printed "happy birthday" on the menus which was cute. Food: Tuna tartare (evening special) [5/5]: loved this! The yuzu dipping sauce was really yummy (kind of smokey), and loved the flavor of the shiso leaves that the tuna was wrapped in. Intermountain mushroom fried rice [5/5]: my favorite dish of the evening. Didn't taste at all expected but it was sooooo goood. It was crunchy fried rice (think elevated rice krispee cereal) with hot honey. Loved how the umami complimented the sweetness. My boyfriend said they did a bait and switch on him because he was expected actual fried rice haha but it was super yummy nonetheless. Lobster dumpling [4/5]: was yummy, the dumpling itself was kind of salty but mellowed out if you eat it with the broth. LOTS of huge chunks of lobster which i appreciate. Aged bison [4/5]: it's steak, it's good. Juicy and tender. Loved the potatoes on here however, super crispy with a fluffy inside. Scone [5/5]: WOW. I love bread but I LOVEEE this scone. It's super buttery, flakey, and fluffy. The spread it comes with is cheesy, smokey, and buttery as well. Everything seasoning wasn't over powering. 10/10 recommend. Tres leches [4/5]: it was yummy but not as well executed. I love tres leches cake, this tasted more like caramel bread pudding. The caramel was really over powering and I couldn't taste the coconut.

Yelp
I've eaten here twice. I'd give the first experience 5 stars (a year ago) so I was thrilled to take my parents here for their 50th wedding anniversary. I'm sad to report that based on today's experience, it seems the place has lost their spark. Even the employees seemed to just be tolerating their existence. I don't know what's caused this change but I don't think we'd go again. To be clear: this 3-star review is not saying that lower-echelon restaurants are better. I'm saying that for their category of dining, they've missed the mark. They're far better than most dining in SLC, to be clear, so I applaud them for that. However, when I want this class of dining, given that many other great places have popped up, I'll go elsewhere in the future. The ambiance is cute but they sat us right in the sun. After intolerably being blinded for 20 minutes, we asked if there were window coverings and they said there weren't so we asked to move. They were gracious to move us to another table. We let them know for future reference that the reason for our request was due to the sun right in our eyes. It didn't seem they cared about our feedback and sure enough, they sat a table of 7 in the exact same spot moments later. Not surprisingly, that table asked to move within 5 minutes. And there were SOOO many other free tables. Why continue seating people at the same spot that others have complained about?! On a positive note: if you find yourself sitting in the restaurant and wondering what to order: get the calamari and the lamb noodle dish (both pictured). They're outstanding and even the server agreed-- they're most interesting items on the menu. We also ordered the hamburger -- it was decent but you'll find a better burger at Lucky 13. The pickle they served on the side was shriveled, mushy, and lacking flavor. The texture was the worst part. They'd have been better off leaving that off the plate. The dining industry is tough, I get it. But until this place improves the experience and takes more pride in everything they put in front of their customers, I can't say I'd recommend the overall experience.

Yelp
We loved our recent dining experience here. Such an elegant and cool vibe. Our waitress was wonderful. We started with tuna, Utah scone and the mushrooms. The tuna tataki was sweet and delicious and melts in your mouth. The Utah scone was okay, it's crispy, which was nice, but slightly hollow in the middle, I was wanting a soft doughy inside. The mushrooms were our favorite!! Oh my gosh! The flavor of the walnut pesto, combined with the soy glazed, was so delicious!! Our mains were the fish and the bison steak. Both were excellent and perfectly cooked. We finished with the tiramisu. It was fine, but honestly would not recommend. It's barely sweet, and tasted nothing like tiramisu. It's a very light dessert which was nice. We will definitely be back to try other menu items.

Yelp
It's been a while since I have traveled for business but that is about to change. So I am every excited to do this review on a terrific and taste bud loving frenzy we had at SLC last night . First - this restaurants setting , ambiance is small and quaint . The styling and lighting made for a nice setting. We were greeted Kimmy our waitress who was nothing short of outstanding. Her genuine nice smile and enthusiasm to serve us was refreshing and to top it off knowledge of the menu and recommendations were spot on. For Starters - our appetizers the mushrooms and calamari shocked us. The calamari was tender , fresh and had a nice combination flavors. The mushroom app blew us away the flavors , texture and crunch was amazing . This should never be removed as an option it is divine. As for our meals one guest has the burger which was very nicely done with a great visual presentation . My Duck also was presented so perfectly, cooked to perfection and the sauces to add a nice combination of flavors to compliment the duck were perfectly done . But the grand prize went to Kimmy for recommending the Pork Loin to my business partner . He changed his selection purely on her enthusiasm for this dish and it was all that and more . So in conclusion SLC is a must dine at place if you visit or live on Salt Lake . Well done Chef we will be back Until next time ...

Yelp
This place is lovely! I passed right by it the first time I was driving to park - it's a blue building with very simple 'SLC Eatery' sign. There's a lot of different options for their brunch menu. They have this little cart that comes around and you can pick off there also. They had shrimp, oysters, and associated pastries. This is just equivalent to appetizers. My kimchi bowl was delicious and was the perfect amount of food. I was able to finish the whole thing over the time we were there. My friend got the specialist chicken sandwich with the country potato's which was so hearty and delicious. She took half of her sandwich home. The atmosphere here is so cute! Lots of natural light and greenery. There was also a lot of wood decor which I loved! They close at 2:30 and reopen at 5. Parking is easy, there's street parking (2 hour limit) right outside the restaurant.

Yelp
Next door to my hotel. The guy there recommended it and the place is very cheerful, clean. The food so far is great!

Yelp
I was really excited to try this place. There's not a ton of restaurants that have such unique, Asian inspired dishes out there and when I saw they had okonomiyaki benedict, I had to try it. The good: The okonomiyaki benedict was quite tasty and I enjoyed it. I also liked the coffee. The crunchy home fries were exactly as great as everyone says. The burger was very good and cooked to a perfect medium. The frustrating: coffee was never refilled while I was eating. Our waiter did offer me a to go option which was nice. When we said it was our first time there, our waiter explained that a girl with a cart would come around and offer dim sum, pastries, shrimp and oysters. My SO ordered a glass of white wine specifically to pair with some oysters but the cart never came. She did walk by our table three times to serve others but completely ignored us. While the food was indeed very good, the portions are quite small and this place is very expensive. It should also be noted that my eggs for the Benedict were fully set up and for Benedict, I expect runny. If there was an option, I was not asked how I want them and I just figured that runny was the Benedict standard but alas, this was not to be. The expensive: $65.00 for brunch for two. 1 burger and fries, 1 very small okonomiyaki Benedict and 1 coffee and 1 glass of white wine. If I'm going to go to an expensive place, I expect to be wowed and I just wasn't. I still think that this place is doing some amazing things with the food and I still really want to love it so we'll probably try it one more time and hope that next time is better.

Yelp
Wait time here is no joke if you didn't make a reservation. And when I say make a reservation, I mean you'll need to make it in advance! Not the day of or the day before...you'll need to have a brunch plan and make it like a week. Well that's what it always feel like. I did finally get a chance to eat here. Waited an hour, but my friends and I went right as they open, so no one was ahead of us. The food here is amazing. A lot of them was very Asian inspired food, but i thought it was yummy. Their eggs Benedict was yummy. The dessert basket was good, but presentation could have been better. The cream was sprayed on very roughly and every where. If I have a chance, I would come back again....but with how the wait time and everything is...I doubt it would be anytime soon

Yelp
Brunch-tastic Sunday morning at SLC eatery. Restaurant has a light airy feel with white walls and exposed brick and a lot of natural light. Semi open kitchen which always makes you feel better about cleanliness. Savory Utah scone, amazing fresh baked scone pocket, slice in half and lather it up with the cheddar rillette spread. Outside of the scone has an everything seasoning but it's all fresh made garlic onions etc. great bite and start to the meal. Bread was warm and soft but still had a nice outer crust. We also got the burger and the French toast. Burger was good not great. They have a homemade burger sauce that they serve with the fresh cut fries as well and it's a bit too acidic for my taste, did not love it on the burger. Tres leches French toast was also good not great. If you asked me to name the fish blind I would have said French toast with bananas and a Carmel sauce, did not really remind me of tres leches. Overall filling meal, and definitely a cool brunch spot. Worth checking out! SLC eatery: 8/10 Food: 7.5/10 Service: 10/10 Ambiance 8/10

Yelp
The ambiance of SLC Eatery is industrial and inviting. Our waitress Olivia was very kind and welcoming! We made a reservation and came on a Wednesday evening. The restaurant was pretty empty but that might be because we came in early around 5pm. The dimsum cart concept is fun Our favorites were the calamari fried rice, eatery burger and the cavatelli. The burger was probably the best we have ever tried!! The desserts were also stand outs. Each dessert on the menu was so unique and delicious. The food: - kimchi beef bulgogi meatballs 6/10, probably wouldn't get again but not bad! - fried tempura mushroom 9/10 such a crispy and light starter - calamari fried rice 10/10 unique fried rice texture and great calamari - eatery burger 10/10 BEST burger ever!!!! - ricotta cavatelli 10/10 the pasta had the perfect texture and the buffalo mozzarella was delicious - albacore tataki 7/10 sweet pineapple flavor - seared scallop 7/10 enjoyed the hominy corn and tender scallops - apple cheesecake 10/10 - date cake tiramisu 10/10

Yelp
Stopped in today. Pastry plate- cookie, banana muffin, and pull apart - these were all just ok. None were hot or fresh. But room temp. They tasted ok. But the cookie was the hardest chocolate chip cookie I've ever had. Utah Scone - this was just weird. Not a traditional Scone, and not your typical fried bread. It was think and heavy and bready. The jam it came with strange, like I think it was a raisin jam, but weird. Torts dip with bacon - an egg sandwich, with some kind pureed salsa for dipping. I didn't like the dip, but the sandwich was OK. It came with house potatoes, that were basically greasy square tater tots. Price- $69 for two people. I don't think we'll be back.

Yelp
The spring menu was also fantastic! I was glad to go back for a fresh take on a local menu!

Yelp
I might have underestimated SLC's food scene, because SLC Eatery tastes like it would be from any top food scene in America. The ambiance is modern and fresh, and the service is top notch. We ordered the calamari, bison, and prawns/scallop dish. The calamari tasted extremely fresh, the bison was cooked to perfection, and the scallops' flavors were amazing. The portions are extremely generous as well. SLC Eatery is top notch dining, and I would recommend eating here any day of the week.

Yelp
We got in late, and were staying near by so wanted a quick meal. It definitely has a yuppy vibe to it, with a culinary twist on all things, including a hamburger. The hamburger was decent, and I'm sure anything off the menu would be just as good. I don't think it was worth the price, but that could be said for a lot of restaurants these days.

Aliyah L.

Yelp
It was fine but I couldn't really eat any thing there. The only thing I can get was the French toast and potatoes. Their service was really good though.
google avatar

Hayley G.

Yelp
I tried so much food here. The bites come in single size portions. I tried the scone, shrimp, oyster, and also a calamari starter. Let me just say that all of this was so very good! My crab pasta however, was amazing!! The drinks were perfect as well. It did take some time with the service, but they were very nice. Great environment and cute place!

Tim D.

Yelp
Wow, this place is incredible! It's the second time we've eaten here and EVERYTHING was outstanding. We split the "greens" I ordered the bison and husband had the special- morel lasagna. The service was also incredible! I'm sorry, I wish I could remember her name. It was my birthday dinner and she made it super special. They are going to get sick of us!
google avatar

Kim F.

Yelp
Service was friendly. Food was hit and miss, especially given the price. More than half of our crochettes were FROZEN in the middle. The pasta special was ok. The short ribs were fine but could have benefited from salt, and most disappointedly, the duck wasn't properly seared so the fat was gross and had to be spat out. The desserts were ok. Probably won't return because the experience was so random (and too expensive to be random $$$)

Yelp
TL;DR: SLC Eatery was a disappointment; the service wasn't good. Too bad, the food was interesting. We booked for 8:15 PM Sunday. We arrived at 8:10 PM and were promptly seated. We all went to the bathroom to wash our hands and therefore did not have the time to check out the menu. We were informed that the kitchen was closing at 9 PM. We did our best to make our choice as soon as possible and passed our order. The waitress came 2 or 3 times after that as she had forgotten a part of the order and ordered two items when we ordered one. Not a big deal. Part of the order was drinks. We got out appetizers but no drinks. Fine. We got served our starters, but no drinks. Mid-starter my friend got his wine served, but not my cocktail. I personally like my cocktail before a meal, prefer wine when eating, but ok, I decided to wait. The rest of the table had finished their starters, I was waiting to receive the cocktail to start eating mine. I asked the waitress to make sure the cocktail order had passed; she said that the drink was most likely ready and she was getting it. No news... At this point, it was a good 20minutes, still nothing. Got served our main dishes, the waitress (another employee) switched my untouched starter to place the main dish. I switched it back, and she got surprised. I explained I was waiting for my drink, she just acknowledged... After some time, I got annoyed and started eating as I had a two dishes in front of me, getting cold. Finally the cocktail came. No excuse were offered. While all of this happened, we could feel the "kitchen closing at 9 PM, we need to rush to close as soon as possible" vibe. Waitresses were running everywhere and were agitated. Which could be why half of our order had to be confirmed and it took 30minutes to do a cocktail? As I was eating my meal and was having a conversation with my spouse, the waitress came, interrupted me and asked if I wanted a box. I had a fork in my hand... I saw her going to another table, dropping the check. The customer asked for desert, it seems she got it. She wanted us out. Few minutes later the check was brought to us. We did not ask for desert as we understood they wanted us out asap. I understand that businesses have to close on time, no problem. But plan your reservation cut-off time so that a regular experience can be provided to customers. Especially for a restaurant of this standing, we are not at Burger King are we? I was annoyed by this drink situation. The rest of the table wasn't happy with the rush aspect. We left disappointed. Other than this the restaurant has a nice atmosphere. My friend had a glass of wine that was quite interesting. The food was good, not excellent but everything was well prepared. We paid $200 for 3 people. The restaurant has a potential as the menu is creative, but our experience was unpleasant.

Yelp
It's always a good time! Dishes are very unique and I love that I get to try items or flavor combinations I haven't experienced anywhere before. Also since they change their menu time to time it's always fun to visit during different seasons or indulge in your favorites while they serve them. Service has always been top notch and the pace of the meals is excellent as well. This one is a lovely gem to SLC. Also, if you love oysters their yuzu mignonette is delicious that I couldn't resist but drink some of it after my oysters were finished. They were fresh from WA/BC bays and shucked perfectly. I cant even say I have a favorite dish here because they've all been excellently flavored, carefully curated, uniquely fused with Asian inspirations and perfectly cooked and presented. So it's always a spot to check out in my book.

Yelp
Group of four went for Saturday brunch, and it wasn't great, but it wasn't bad either. The indoor decor is beautiful and the staff are very friendly and wore masks. We ordered the sweet Utah scones, and they were more like a loaf of bread than scones. Very dense and not a lot of flavor, even when we added the butter and jam. We also ordered a half dozen oysters- sadly we never got them. The tres leches French toast wasn't too sweet, but was a bit burnt. Two people got the Benedict and one egg was perfect and the other was over cooked. Still a flavorful dish and the potatoes and the hollandaise sauce are what make that dish. The kimchi rice bowl had a refreshing taste, and the bulgogi beef was very tender. Our server was very nice, but forgot our oysters, and none of our checks were right. I definitely think there are other brunch options that I would go to before going back to SLC Eatery. Still worth a try though!

Yelp
Came here cause female foodie dubbed their burger one of the best in slc. And it was a good one. We got the calamari fried rice to start, and I didn't expect it to be as lime forward. It did list the lime in the ingredients, I just didn't think expect it to be as forward as it was. It was good - but I don't think I'd get it again. The Utah scones with the smoked cheddar spread on the side was amazing. I loved the addition of the sesame seeds - they really did add to the whole bite. The burger was yummy - juicy, good ratios of condiments. The fries were amazing (though they weren't the same fries female foodie showed - hers were almost like mini hassleback potatoes). I would have never ever spotted this place unless I saw the IG post. It's pretty well hidden. But loved the ambiance inside and the exposed brick on the walls.

Yelp
My husband and I were not sure about this place considering the menu has all these foods we are not familiar with but I am so happy we went. I am vegetarian and he is not and it was perfect for us both. They come by with a cart with starters and explain them all to you and they were all so delicious!! Service was quick and good. The only thing is they offer still or sparkling water at the beginning. Unless you want to pay $7 for sparking water, go with tap! Lol. Otherwise 5/5. Edit: We went back for brunch and it was good! I would have preferred regular pancakes and eggs but my husband got the tres leche French toast and said it was delicious. I got the Breakfast Torta dip and it was alright. Two pieces of bread with some cheese and an egg. Noting special. Prefer it for dinner. Also props to Ari! Working hard and a kind friendly server.

Yelp
Ate here for dinner last Friday night. My wife and I both had a special. A spicy tomato pasta dish with prawns. It was very good. I was surprised my wife liked it because I like food with a little heat and my wife does not. This dish has some heat. Our waitress was excellent. The beer and margarita I had were both good. My wife had a glass of wine. Good experience all around.

Yelp
Came in for a dinner with friends. The menu looked exciting so we were really pumped to try it. A few things were good but a few things seemed off. Food: we had the calamari, the tartare (the best dish of the meal), the burger and the chicken. The food was good but super overpriced. I had gone in wanting to get the lentil soup but it's literally a shooter of soup, not even a cup. I get that they want to be fancy-adjacent but the high prices for the small portions is a bit wonky. Service: service was excellent but the cart service threw us off a bit. It was very reminiscent of the 90s when they'd come by with a dessert cart. The food on the card looked super small and not all that appetizing. My guess from being moved around the restaurant all night. It was confusing as to when you could order the cart food vs when you couldn't Space: it's a bit ecclectic which is super fun and seemed clean. Our servers were all really quite lovely.

Yelp
It was good. Not amazing, but good. Service was fast & friendly and the food was tasty. Also loved the open ambiance and modern industrial feel to the room. We tried a dessert sampler that they bring around on the cart. It was okay. The desserts were a little dry and not super flavorful, I would pass on them if I come back here. I had the Japanese eggs Benedict, they over cooked my eggs and the pancake tasted a little burnt on the bottom, but I loved the hollandaise sauce and crispy potato cakes on the side. I tried some of my friends beef bulgogi bowl and it was fantastic, I would get that next time over what I got. I would like to come back & give it another shot! While I wasn't wowed by the food here, I don't think it was bad either.

Yelp
Cutest little brunch spot with unique flavors and an amazing atmosphere! Lots of options including a dim sum cart but gets busy quick. So make a reservation or come early!

Yelp
When I walked into brunch, I noticed every table was filled and for good reason. The staff was friendly which complimented the open, charming, and cool without trying to hard space. The food was really good, but my favorite part was the impeccable playlist of 80s pop divas which worked so well to create an atmosphere that I didn't want to leave. I appreciated how many options they have on their menu and that my coffee cup was never empty. I ordered the omelette which let me try a new ingredient combination because I was Intrigued by the ingredients and was excited to try burrata in an omelette, especially paired with mushrooms, and pesto which certainly lived up to the expectation. It was slightly saltier than I usually prefer, but this may just be a personal preference. In spite of this, I still really enjoyed it and would both order it again and recommend it! I also loved their take on potatoes which was a crispy hash brown/breakfast potato fusion. It was unlike any potato I've ever had and it's always really fun to try a new take on old things. Looking forward to going back again!

Yelp
SLC Eatery is the place to go for a fun and flavorful multicourse meal in a relatively casual setting. At SLC Eatery, you can eat food from "the cart" in addition to your main meal, and I think it's this aspect of servers bringing the cart to your table and you and your party deciding on the fly what to get that helps make the setting more casual and the dinner more fun. Cart items have descriptions on the menu, but you really don't know what anything looks like until your server brings the cart to your table. You pick cart items for your appetizer and dessert, and, overall, I quite liked this experience. As for the food, it's great. It's definitely an international menu and any given dish typically gets inspiration from several cultures. I ordered the red chile-date bbq half chicken, which also came with roti (it's not authentic and much more like a thin flatbread but still good), a variety of vegetables, and a tzatziki-like sauce. It was plated in a dim sum basket. The diversity of the food and the unconventional plating, like the cart aspect, was fun. I liked my dish as it was very filling and the chicken was very tender. Plus, there were so many different components that every bite could have a different flavor profile! For dessert, I got the honey almond cake from the cart, and it was a delicious and light way to end the night. I believe it came with lemon sorbet, strawberries, meringue bits, and some type of icing (maybe buttercream). The sorbet and strawberries added some nice acidity and tang to the sweetness of the cake and icing, and the meringue bits added a light crunch. I really liked this dessert. Overall, the food here was great and the experience was awesome, unique, and dynamic. I'd say to check this place out with a friend or two so that you can share cart items and fawn over the beautiful plating!

Yelp
Delish! Food and atmosphere and a great vibe and delight. The food was scrumptious! Great place for a date night or dinner with friends. The server was on top of everything and the meal tasted incredible. What more can one want/ need from a business? Feeling happy!

Yelp
Stopped here trying to find a place for Sunday brunch before a flight on the way out of SLC. The house potatoes were really good! Crispy and soft on the inside. The hash brown has cabbage in it, which I actually enjoyed. My portion was a good size but I don't think others were. This place is also going for a hipster vibe. Odd to serve coffee from a mini wine carafe...... Nothing bad, just gentrification I suppose. And mildly decent attempt to Asian fusion.

Yelp
The food was about average nothing spectacular. Service not good. I could be wrong there but to me seemed like they employ a bunch of school kids. It's definitely not a professional run service staff, seems like they don't listen well and we had a few things that came out wrong. Overall way overpriced for the food and experience you get!

Yelp
Found this spot on accident while we were waiting for another restaurant. Got right in for breakfast on a Saturday morning - which I think may be rare, so get reservations in advance. Menu was unique and so fun. We took advantage of the little dim sum-like cart they brought around. The pastries were so good they literally made me cry. There is nothing on earth quite like that banana mousse bread. Biscuits and gravy were almost equally as good. My husband got the chorizo dip sandwich, which he rated a 3.5/5. Highly recommend and will go back.

Yelp
pretty decent brunch spot that my friends took me to while visiting them. i got an omelette and thought it tasted like any other typical omelette. i also tried the kimchi bowl, but thought it was overpriced for what i was eating. it was a really tiny portion and not enough protein in the dish, but i did think it was really flavorful. i'm not a drinker, but they do offer mimosas and other alcoholic drinks. their tater tots were amazing though and i would definitely come back just for their tots! i thought the customer service could have been better. it was really hard to flag staff when we needed something especially since we were seated in a visible area where staff were at. i also had to remind them a few times of what i requested and they'd forget about it.

Yelp
We've come to SLC eatery several times for weekend brunch. We've never been disappointed. The Eatery mushroom burrata Omelette and Market fish rice bowl were both delicious. The service is always great. The coffee is very good as well. All in all a really nice place to start a relaxing weekend day.

Yelp
Nestled on Main Street, SLC Eatery is a fantastic spot for any foodie to explore some exciting flavors in a modern relaxed, yet upscale atmosphere. We came around 1:00 in the afternoon to enjoy brunch. Having finished a morning at the natural history museum, we had our two kids with us this time around. After receiving a high chair, we quickly found out this restaurant is not kid friendly. There were no kid cups, so my toddler had to use a coffee cup with a lid and an organic straw, which did not go over great. I felt like my other toddler was going to break every beautiful plate and glass. Lesson learned. Come here for date night or with your friends! Definitely leave your kids at home for this one. We ordered the huevos rancheros and the omelet with pesto and eatery potatoes. What a fantastic combination of flavors! The huevos rancheros were a hit out of the park for us. The salsa roja was wonderful and the eggs cooked perfectly. The omelet with burrata and pine nut pesto was garlicky, soft, and delicious. The pesto is what really makes that fish. The potatoes are kind of like square tater tot's, and are super crunchy on the outside. We thought they were delicious! After our meal we ordered a Utah peach turnover with dulce de leche. We thought it could have used more dulce de leche sauce, but the pastry was delicious and the filling well seasoned. When we were almost finished, our waitress delighted us with another turnover for the four of us to share on the house. What a treat! The only thing that left a damper on the meal was that we were still a little hungry after finishing our food. We had our kids, but they ate almost nothing. The food here is definitely smaller portions and not meant for sharing. Keep that in mind, and order accordingly for your hunger! I'd love to come back for a date night to experience their dinner menu in the future.

Yelp
A friend and I came for brunch. We had a reservation and we didn't wait. They have a server with a tray with appetizers and we got the sweets. They were all really delicious. Not too sweet. We had mimosas which are always good, and the main dish was delicious! I got huevos rancheros with chorizo, the chorizo was really good and it had a bit of spice. Overall it was a great experience and I definitely will be returning.

Yelp
We came around 1 pm on a Sunday, and there was about a 20 min wait. I was checking the yelp wait list while we were en route, and it said there was zero wait, so we weren't too happy about that. However, the service was good, and our food came out quickly. I highly recommend the benedict and the french toast (not pictured), depending on whether you're feeling sweet or savory. Drinks were pretty standard, nothing to rave about. The place is bright with lots of natural lighting and outdoor patio seating available. I would definitely return for brunch again.

Yelp
Food: 2 star: flavors don't work together. Drinks: 1 star: trying too hard, too many ingredients. Prices: 1 star: expensive for location and quality. Decor: 1 star: cheap and unfinished. Cleanliness: 2 stars: bathroom was dirty. SLC Eatery is trying to be an upscale restaurant. They clearly have a chef. But nothing about this place actually works.

Yelp
I love this place. It's such a hidden gem. From dinner to brunch to take home Thanksgiving meals, we always enjoy what they make for us!
