We've stayed at Sleeping Lady a handful of times and every time we leave feeling so rejuvenated and impressed. The rooms are incredibly clean & comfortable, the staff are all excellent, the food is great, and the location, amenities are so enjoyable. We recently had our wedding at Sleeping Lady and could not have had a better time. Jena and Kevin in particular were outstanding throughout the planning process. Everything went smoothly throughout the weekend and all the guests had a fabulous time! We had one minor hiccup during the Welcome Party and the staff & management were quick to address it. They were on top of every detail, super ethical in how they run their business, and made the entire planning process and weekend enjoyable and the best weekend of our lives. Highly recommend for weekend getaway, friend/family retreat, or even a wedding!

Let me start by saying the venue is beautiful, but that's where it ends. The wedding reception was held in the Kingfisher restaurant which only serves buffet style. We were seated at the last table closest to the buffet. After watching people go through the buffet line for 1 hour 20 minutes, we look over and notice they are no longer refilling the buffet line. When our table is finally released to eat, the food was all gone. There were 15 people at our table and another 7 or 8 people that had not shown up for the wedding so this is at least 10% of the people at the wedding. I tried to phone the manager Chuck to discuss but he would not return my phone calls.

This resort holds a very special place in my heart. My partner and I had our wedding here recently, and it was more perfect than we could have imagined. The staff was wonderful, venue was beautiful, lodging is gorgeous and comfortable, and it was fun for our guests to be close to town. The other times we've stayed have been just as perfect, too. Highly recommend for any stay, even just one night.

We've always camped around this area and decided to splurge on a loft room at Sleeping Lady--what a beautiful place! I loved being in the forest, going to the breakfast buffet and Grotto bar (nicest bartenders ever!), and my kids LOVED the pool. Also easy access into Leavenworth for dinner and shopping. A peaceful, fun experience for the family. Would recommend.

This resort is definitely a gem. My family and I had a great time here celebrating my daughter's 17 birthday, everything was so nice and beautiful. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I fall in love with this place definitely coming back next year.

This is truly one of the most beautiful places you can stay in Washington state. We go here every year for a work conference and it is something we all look forward to so much. The people are just wonderful, the rooms are beautiful, with comfortable beds and modern touches. There's so much to walk around and see and they have really amazing artwork tucked all around the property. They have a nice pool ,hot tub, bar, and the restaurant area /view cannot be beat. Don't even hesitate if you're thinking of going here, book it now!

We reserved the two-bedroom Stellar Jay cabin for two couples and two Labrador retrievers to celebrate a 46th Anniversary. The large, enclosed patio was perfect for relaxing outside with our dogs. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub, trail walks along the Icicle River, and delicious dining in the charming Bavarian-themed Leavenworth.

I want to love this resort but my second visit is very disappointing . I was not told that the restaurant was closed for remodeling when I booked or even whenever I checked in . There are pizzas in the bar but no vegan options (as I hadn’t been told wouldn’t Ben available) so I ate whatever snacks I had for dinner in my room. I hoped i could get a smoothie at the bar but they don’t even have a blender. Check-in was on a hot day with no help offered for moving my luggage across the campus to my quad. The parking lot is at a distance of several blocks from most of the rooms, so ignore feels like the cars are vulnerable to break ins. Hand carts are available but my quad is up 2-3 steps , and that requires unloading the cart and carrying heavy suitcases up the steps in the heat- a Difficult task as I am 70+. A hotel maintenance worker saw me struggling and walked on by. Staff did not mention when I booked, or when I checked in , that Saturdays are concert nights. I called the desk and was told the resort doesn’t know when the music will end. I was told 8:30 - 9. It is now 10 p.m. and I have no hope of sleeping. There is no shady place to sit near the river access so bring a towel and lean against some rocks as I did. The rooms are beautiful. The staff couldn’t be better trained and more polite . I expected to enjoy the outdoors here but even a drink on the bar’s patio isn’t peaceful as music is playing i side and out. I think this is a great location for groups and younger people. Lesson learned!

Yelp
I would recommend this place twice if I could. It is more glamping resort than hotel but it is a fantastic place to stay. Easy to get to (about seven easy minutes to downtown Leavenworth), great parking, beautiful grounds, nice and extremely clean cabins, very friendly service. More on the grounds: extremely quiet, dark and peaceful. The sound of the frogs and the fountain outside of our room was magic! Only complaint: the hot tub wasn't very hot. Will definitely return and consider this place as an additional great reason to visit the area.

Yelp
What is enjoyed: A beautiful setting at the base of the mountains in a forest setting. The sheets are soft The shower pressure was outstanding. The soaps have a pleasant smell. Proximity to Leavenworth is about 7-10 minutes. A nice retreat from the crowds. What was lacking: Restaurant options, signage and directions on-site to parking lots and buildings. Space to put our things in the cabin with a loft. Housekeeping was not conducted while we were away. Paved walkways to move luggage from the car to the room. Adequate lounge furniture and shade/ umbrellas at the very small pool. What was disappointing: Bugs. Lots of mosquitos and fleas in the room. I saw this especially when using my lit kindle and bugs kept landing on the screen. The walls are incredibly thin. Not a quiet place to stay. Plumbing from neighboring units was very loud. Flooding: our toilet overflowed (no fault of our own) and left two inches of standing water everywhere. The resort provided a different room that fit our needs better. We appreciate this! The sink is in the sleeping area which caused a lot of disruption for those resting. The light switch for the toilet and shower are outside the door which means illuminating the sleeping area to use the toilet at night. Bright light switches (housekeeping temperature contol) at eye-level that could not be covered and light up the room- making sleep difficult. No bedside table, limited outlets or places to charge devices. The steps up to the loft are incredibly steep. The refrigerator was loud and needed to be unplugged to sleep. Many outlets and the ceiling fan did not work. There was no bathroom fan in either of our rooms. No television No places to sit other than the bed Woke up to 75 degrees in my room and broken air conditioning

Yelp
Don't hold your business meeting here. First the positives: it's a beautiful property, lovely rooms, comfortable beds. The staff who serve the guests are friendly. The meeting planning capacity, however, is sorely lacking. The AV support was nonexistent. No one was there to help and when we asked for help, the catering staff did her best.(?!?) The microphones didn't work: intermittently would stop. Small example: The lavaliere microphone was missing its clip and I had to use a hair pin to clip it to my jacket. I told them about this the first day but they must have forgotten because it wasn't fixed the second day we were there. Also on the second day, food service was an hour late because catering had not received the updated banquet event order that had been submitted two weeks prior. We didn't have coffee for a 7:30 am meeting until 8:15. (!!) When the person who'd arranged our event from our end tried calling her Sleeping Lady event planning contact, he didn't answer. Our retreat was Saturday and Sunday so maybe they don't work on weekends? Oh, and the lighting and signage around the resort is abysmal. I had to stop the housekeeper in the golf cart to give me directions. (Every intersection should have way-finding signs: how hard is that?) Anyway, if you're thinking about it, I'd save yourself the frustration and hold your meeting at Suncadia Resort instead. They have business meetings, board retreats, and event planning down to a science, in my experience. (I'm a professional facilitator and not associated with either property, fyi.)

Yelp
i absolutely love the concept of the sleeping lady. it was my momma's birthday celebration for a couple of nights--a place i had heard so much about and finally made it to. the room was adequate though there were a few things (a window that did not close all the way & another that had a faulty screen) which i let the front desk know about upon check out. also, the refrigerator.....worked great but so bright i had to place a towel over it to reduce the light emitting from it! the biggest and unfortunate disappointment was the buffet breakfast. employees=great, welcoming. the buffet was possibly one of the most disappointing i've experienced. the price tag for the fare offered was unfathomable. my suggestion would be to have an off the menu order ONLY if that is what you are offering as a daily buffet. the eggs were tasteless and rubbery, the potatoes, saturated in oil, also no real flavour. there is a good food source missing on this property. i had heard so much about the restaurant that used to have service at sleeping lady and that absolutely needs to be brought back in some form. the buildings are gorgeous--don't waste the space! would i return? maybe but certainly not for the food.

Yelp
OMG, what an amazing honeymoon me & my husband had at the Sleeping Lady Resort! Can't say enough about EVERYTHING - the scenery, huge heavenly organic garden, woods, trails, creeks, brooks, hot tub surrounded by mother nature, delectable food at O'Grady's, and a to-die-for spacious comfortable room with all amenities, including a wonderful equally huge bathroom with a towel warmer, sumptuous bathtub for relaxation, EO shampoo/conditioner/bath gel, bathrobes, etc - such a simply wonderful experience. Heart . An unforgettable honeymoon I'm never going to forget. And am already planning on our anniversary being there next year. Btw, it's also ideal for bringing your beloved dog(s) as well, and especially for bike riding, as we had a lovely ride into town while encountering friendly deer that came right up to us sniffing our hands!

Yelp
This is a review for Kingfisher restaurant only. Ate there with friends. The food was reasonably priced for the quality. The salmon was great. Service was very good. Some minor nits ... The menu with the "served family style" is a bit confusing. The french onion soup was good but had too much pepper. The bathrooms are a short walk outside.

Yelp
This was our first time at the Sleeping Lady. The accommodations were nice and fit our needs. The grandkids loved playing in the snow right outside our door and enjoyed warming up in the outdoor hot tub. We have no complaints about our accommodations. We would stay here again. The most disappointing part of our stay was eating...or not eating at the Kingfisher Restaurant located on the property. We arrived late our first night and this was the closest option for dinner. We should have just eaten our trail mix in the room. The 3 adults ordered the Salmon and the 3 kids got a grilled cheese sandwich (which they enjoyed). After about 25 minutes our waitress...who was amazing...came out and told us they were training a new cook and she noticed the salmon was burnt and sent it back before we saw it. About 25 minutes later, she brought us our meals. 2 of the 3 pieces of salmon were burnt and the baked potatoes were cold. We asked for another try. After another 20 minutes we were brought 2 more pieces of salmon. One was cooked fine, the other was now undercooked in spots. We were too tired to complain again. Our waitress offered us 2 desserts to make up for it. The grandkids enjoyed the chocolate cake and pumpkin pie. We barely ate any of our dinner. We spent over $200 on a meal that was a complete disaster. I hope they are able to get their cook trained.

Yelp
Rooms are simple, quiet and clean. They have refrigerators, and a hot pot; there is a microwave in reception. The Kingfisher restaurant was open only for Thanksgiving, but O'Grady's was open the whole time. I recommend calling if you are planning to depend on the on-premises facilities. Hot tub was open, but the pool was closed (not surprisingly in November.

Yelp
I have heard raves about Sleeping Lady for years and finally got to check it out. Sounds like a lot has changed post-COVID and due to ownership changes. My experience was a mixed bag! First of all, the grounds are gorgeous and our room was large, clean and cozy (with a little window day bed, perfect for napping!). There are two adorable cats who hang in the lobby! But that is sort of where the pros end. Like first of all, you are telling me that I am paying over $700 for three nights and I have to bring my luggage to my room in a wheelbarrow? And I have to request housekeeping? And the pool is broken? Okay! Many buildings are closed/in various states of construction and the place has an abandoned vibe. Some staff was very aloof/standoffish, but no one was rude. To call this a resort is misleading when there are so few amenities. Dining is a major issue. I understand that the Kingfisher restaurant was amazing but it has closed down. The only options left are the Grotto (small, cramped, and when I was there the only staff member working seemed in an absolute panic, the bar and nearby tables were filthy and I never even got to order because he was on the phone with his manager, saying that he felt he should shut down for the night because of some systemic glitch that meant no one was getting their orders. A woman outside advised me to leave as she had been waiting for over an hour) and O'Grady's (limited menu, nice space and very pleasant service but we waited over 30 minutes for our food and I was given a beef burger instead of a Beyond Burger, leading to me eating meat for the first time in 30 years, so that was upsetting). I would still stay here again for the setting alone (which really is spectacular) but if you are looking for a luxurious experience, this is definitely not it.

Yelp
Great place to stay! Couldn't be happier. The room was cute and clean. Yes you need to use a barrel type thing to wheel your luggage to the room, but it was easy and with the snow it made it more easy to manage. Loved the grounds. The beds were comfortable and there are even towel warmers in the room which was delightful for us Phx folks. We did eat at the King Fisher restaurant on the property and don't recommend it. Only 4 options for main entree and it was pricey. Also our meal took forever and we weren't sure if it was due to the server forgetting to put it in or something with the kitchen staff. Definitely go into Leavenworth to eat.

Yelp
We visited last year and I was disappointed. Much construction/renovation was going on and they were lacking dining options. They did have a makeshift restaurant, but when we went in asking to see a menu we were curtly told they weren't open and were busy. We simply wanted to see what they offered and know when they were open. We got NO help. Office staff was rather reserved and removed. They had a very corporate feel about them. There was no warmth. The rooms were comfortable and well appointed. Overall we were disappointed.

Kate M.

Yelp
My family really enjoyed staying here . The rooms were cozy, spacious & the beds very comfortable. The property is beautiful & my kids had a lot of fun running around playing in the snow . We saw deer and squirrels outside our room . There's a laundry facility on site , cute library & games . I recommend staying here !! Our fav resort in Leavenworth . They don't have any TVs in their room which is totally fine :) Their breakfast was a little eh ... we didn't end up eating there when we saw the price and what they offered ... I think it should either be included or have a better selection for the price .. I also wish they had a microwave in the rooms .. would be helpful .. It's dog friendly so we enjoyed seeing everyone with their dogs since ours were home .. and the cats on site were adorable ! We loved the resort and will be back !!!!!!!!!!!

Yelp
My first time at Sleeping Lady. I understand that there is new management but... At $20 per plate for the breakfast buffet this is what you get at Sleeping Lady before 10am. Cold and dried out scrambled eggs and empty food trays (unless you like $20 cereal). It took 25+ min to get a round of pancakes and French toast out, 35 min for greasy bacon and sausage. They never did serve fresh eggs while we were there. And no sense of urgency while several families waited for something to eat. I recommend they not offer a buffet if they cannot figure out how to plan for one. Very disappointing.

Morgan B.

Yelp
Just went here for the weekend for my close friends' wedding. Upon arrival, I was told that they lost the reservation that I made months ago (along with three other couples who were attending the wedding). This resulted in my husband and I having to book a last minute (and more expensive) motel room in town and take several expensive taxi rides to and from for all of the wedding events. Not to mention, there was also a man who claimed to work there wandering the property at night (with no shoes on) harassing myself and several other of the wedding guests. At one point, my husband and I were told to "get up off our asses" to tell the other wedding guests that we were "all going to jail" due to our late night festivities (at 10 pm.. in the booked wedding party area). If the hotel wants future success, they need to fully reevaluate their reception team/booking process and add proper security on their grounds at night.

Yelp
When Harriet sold this business, the place has just flat out DIED. I've been coming here multiple times a year, for YEARS. Since the new ownership? They've run it into the ground. The main restaurant used to be the heart of the place. Now? It's never open. The "satellite restaurants"? Are AWFUL. I REFUSE to eat their food. Too much to recap. I keep coming here out of loyalty. I know Covid wasn't kind and I want to support. HOWEVER, I feel the new ownership is running the whole place into the ground. I doubt this lovely, visionary place will be here in a few years. My guess? Some conglomerate will buy it shortly....and just ruin it. So get here while you can. Sorry Harriett. You built a wonderful experience. So sad.

Pamela B.

Yelp
Exellent service & atmosphere. Food okay. The Tuna was very good, the other seafood okay. Beautiful setting and rooms are wonderful.

Yelp
Would've given it 4-5 stars but their restaurants and bars operates at weird hours. We had to drive out of the resort to get food many times

Nancy M.

Yelp
Nice, clean rooms, beautiful area. Love that it is away from touristy town. Check in could've been better with correct directions to room. If elderly or have mobility issues, ask for a room close to parking lot.

Yelp
I have been coming to SLL since the early 90s and have many wonderful memories of the clean, cozy rooms, gorgeous hiking trails, outdoor hot tub, ponderosa pine and larch-filled grounds, gorgeous art installations, wonderful staff, and incredible food at the Kingfisher Restaurant. I am happy to report that almost everything on this list is as enjoyable and fabulous as it has always been. I am not so happy to report that the food situation has taken an unfortunate turn for the worse. In the pre-COVID times, meals at the Kingfisher were delicious, plentiful, and included in your room fee; the Grotto Bar had a cozy fire and large-ish menu, and O'Grady's pantry was an excellent option for breakfast and lunch. None of this is the case any longer, although I will focus only on the Kingfisher, as the changes here are the most disappointing to me. First, the positive. The ambience is incredible - it's a beautiful dining hall with gorgeous views and a wonderful atmosphere. Some of the food is still spectacular - my friend had a salad with tuna that was mouth-watering; my daughter's salad was also delicious; and the bread pudding was fantastic. But the quality is hit or miss - the potatoes and stuffing were dry; the pumpkin pie looked and tasted like it came from Costco and cost $12 for a tiny slice; and the scallops I had were undercooked and borderline inedible. In addition, they've chosen to have an "a la carte" menu, which translates to an outrageous sum of money if you want more than one item on your plate. Every single item has a high price tag and nothing comes with a side. We spent almost $300 for 4 people - one of whom is a child who ate almost nothing. We ordered no alcohol. It is a terrible option for families, there is no kid menu, which translates to grumpy children (and parents). If the rooms were equipped with kitchenettes and in-room meal prep were an option, the food issue would not be such a big deal. But as it is, SLL is out of reach financially for "regular" folks and appears to be catering to the über wealthy who think nothing of dropping $300 to feed 4 people dinner. My recommendations: 1. Ditch the à la carte pricing; 2. Create a kid-friendly menu, 3. Have more consistency across food items in terms of quality. I really want to return to this incredible and unique place; it is a rare gem on planet Earth! But until changes are made, it is no longer affordable for my family.

Yelp
We recently ate at the Sleeping Lady Mountain Resort and had a less than favorable experience. Upon arrival the place looked great, outside seating has great ambiance and nice views of the mountains, however, that is where the pleasantries ended. We selected a table that needed to be bussed (no other tables were available), a wait staff approached and observed that the table needed to be bussed and asked, "are you sure you want to sit here?". We said yes and that no other tables were available, they proceeded to tell us if we sat there that it would take a while for anyone to get to us because they had to buss the table (there were maybe 3 glasses and 2 sets of silverware on the table). We said okay, as we were already committed to the restaurant. After the server took our order, two entrees were brought out about 5 minutes later they came back to tell us that the third entree would be late and that was, "their bad". After about another 10 mins we finally received the third entree and the burger was extremely undercooked (pictured). We will not be coming back due to our experience.

Yelp
I was very disappointed with our stay, unfortunately. I had heard so many great things about the place and was eager to book a couple nights. I'm not sure if Covid took its toll on this place or it's always been a smoke and mirrors operation but it's certainly not what it used to be. The grounds and landscaping are lovely, don't get me wrong. It is a beautiful layout but that's the smoke and mirrors in my opinion. Very limited food options so please be aware of that before coming because we had expected to have all our meals on the campus but after our first evening - absolutely not. The Kingfisher restaurant is no longer in operation. We were informed it's permanently closed. The only food option was O'Gradys- food options there are minimal and their hours are varied. The pool and hot tub were closed, which was a surprise. There's also a mercantile store attached to O'Gradys but it was closed. The rooms are nice but it is very minimalistic. We had to ask for housekeeping to come to our room after checking in, we noticed we had no body wash in the shower. The staff were not friendly when checking in and checking out. Anytime I had a question it was almost like I was inconveniencing them. There were issues with billing, that's a whole other story on its own. Super unfortunate and definitely won't be returning nor recommending this as an overnight.

Yelp
I have stayed there before new ownership and it was wonderful but I stayed a night this week and the facility seems to be poorly cared for. Our room was not clean and the grounds were in disrepair. The restaurant is no longer open and the bar is only open from Wednesday to Saturday. Won't be going back, sadly

Ann P.

Yelp
Amazing scenery + Tired lodgings = overpriced stay. The scenery was what won our hearts and led us to book a stay here. If we'd seen what we were paying for, we wouldn't have bothered. We weren't shown a room due to 'constraints' but were assured they were worth the steep price. They are not. The room we were in smelled of mildew and garbage, thanks to the overflowing public trash receptacles out our front door. The interior lightbulbs were of all different hours -- fluorescent , golden , bright white. No dimmer switches. A total assault to the eyes! The mini fridge sounded as loud as a Dodge diesel-- we had to unplug it just to rest. We were woken up by what I thought was a fire alarm-- turns out it was the cleaning ladies on their golf carts, backing in and out of various places. SO OBNOXIOUS. No breakfast & no housekeeping. Nothing luxe about this place other than the price and the surroundings which you can just enjoy w/o staying overnight. This place is sad, shabby and not worth the cost. Stay at the Enzian Inn instead. Same price, better amenities, amazing breakfast included, and drive to Sleeping Lady for a day trip and afternoon walk.

Yelp
Only thing nice are the cabins. Place has gone down the drains over the last 5 years. Not like when the founder was still around.

Yelp
We started visiting in 2017, and I'm remiss in not posting a review earlier. But I'm here to fix that! Nothing but love for this place! The location? Idyllic. Nestled in the shadow of Stevens Pass, Wedge Mountain and the Cascades, it is surrounded by forests and water. Icicle Creek flows at the back of the resort, and the Wenatchee is just down the road. The atmosphere? Serene. Walking paths abound through the resort. We saw a dozen or so deer, were serenaded by coyotes in the night, and woke to birds chirping at our window. We live on Bainbridge Island, so we're used to nature, but this places takes it up a few notches. The staff? Gracious. Seriously, these are some of the nicest people I've ever met and hospitality. They're accommodating, and we are rarely waiting more than a few minutes for an issue to be resolved, if there even is one (think: extra pillows or another bag for the ice bucket). THE FOOD? Phenomenal. The Kingfisher is one of the best restaurants we've eaten at in Washington State. Unfortunately, due to COVID, there has been difficulty in keeping staff up as well as maintaining distance required, so the restaurant has been shuttered. But staff assures me that this is only temporary, and they're hoping to be open for the holidays. This is THE best value for your dollar in a gorgeous setting. It is our go-to, mini vacay destination. We've been at least 7 times since we first found it in December of 2017. We cannot get enough of the Sleeping Lady!

Yelp
What a beautiful and amazing place!!! I am floored at how lovely the set up, customer service, and overall experience was. I brought my dog, and there was a bed, bowls, and a huge treat waiting for us when we got there. The front desk attendants, Tristan and Travis, were SO helpful at all hours of the day - even at 11pm when we were looking for board games. The trees on the property are gorgeous, and it's a quick 5 minute drive to the city of Leavenworth. It is well worth staying a little further away! I will definitely be staying here again next time I'm in town. Cheers, Sleeping Lady!

Yelp
What a pleasure to be able to stay at the Sleeping Lady Mt. Resort. If only we were able to enjoy being here a little longer, Sleeping Lady was a great addition to our Holiday weekend getaway. Nestled in the mountains, we woke up to fresh snowfall and was able to walk around and admire the property- it's huge!!. The pool was unfortunately closed, but I believe there was a restaurant and bar, as well as a little store. This resort is located not too far from town, so it's nice if you need something, they may have it there. Check in was super easy and they were very nice and welcoming. Checkout was also easy as you just call the front desk and let them know where the keys are - what a breeze. There are cabins kind of everywhere, some clump together, and others more private- it's fun looking at the map layout. We booked the Alcove Room, and Our cabin was super cute, wood architect, really warm and homey. The price is a little higher, but it's actually around the same as other hotels in the area. Must stay!

Yelp
I would not recommend this venue for your wedding or other private event. We had a dinner function here and the food, for the most part, was terrible. The steaks were very salty and dry. The paella was not recognizable as such. It was very pricey and we were required to meet a food and bar minimum which we did not. Beware, they will add additional charges for everything. Other than bussing, there were no other staff in attendance except for the bartender. Everything else was self- service. The grounds were not well maintained with a lot of weeds and overgrowth. I understand there has been an ownership change which may explain the higher costs, lesser service and inflexible policies. None of this was experienced with the prior ownership. Perhaps much of this is due to "covid" related circumstances, but that seems to be the overused excuse.

Yelp
This is a great place for relaxing, without small kids. This was our first stay. Not too far out of town. There's a few areas outside to sit in the evening, even just outside of your room. Rooms are comfortable, lots of space. Don't go on Mon or Tues, the Grotto Bar wasn't open. There's a place to eat, but limited selection. The hot tub was too hot and parents were letting there kids under 8 play in it. The pool is a good size, but was too cold for us. Everyone at the front desk were very helpful and friendly. At this time of year there were wild fires. We had planned on staying 2 nights, but found it just too smokey for us. The first night the smoke index was 280!! They allowed us to check out early. They were very understanding, gracious, and accommodating about the smoke, and are needs.

Yelp
Cozy cabin with small loft which my daughter absolutely loved. The restaurant was a bit of a letdown for me, even though my wife loved it. The menu was difficult to understand, they have a set course with a few options, but it's not clear exactly what's an option and what's a side. The food was nothing to die for and it was quite expensive. The IPA beer was outstanding. All in all it was a nice and relaxing stay.

Yelp
Good Afternoon, I am writing this note to say thank you to your very special staff.  Last Monday, June 19th, my son proposed to his girlfriend at your resort.  As we planned and prepared for this moment, we visited your resort a couple of times to choose the "perfect spot".  Each staff person we encountered was welcoming, full of smiles and just as special as your resort itself (probably the reason it is a place many people share fond memories). On the day of the proposal (June 19th), we had large boxes and buckets of memorabilia, flowers, etc. to stage the proposal site.  It was a little bit of a walk from the parking lot to the site.  In the parking lot I was greeted by your very thoughtful chef (Steven?) who offered to carry the heavy load for me.  I was so appreciative of his help and unsolicited kindness.  He even took the time to learn more about our family as he carried my heavy load to its final destination.  As well, he invited us into the catering building to hide, if that would help us with our plan.  So nice!! Just when I thought the day couldn't get any better, we met Joel.  Our Proposal Setup Crew was hiding on the deck of your Catering Restaurant, trying not to be seen or noticed (or to bother anybody else @ Sleeping Lady Resort).  Joel came out to ask what we were up to  (understandably, we thought he might be coming out to ask us to leave).  Instead, he joined us in the proposal celebration and wanted to know about what was happening.  He took interest in our family and shared our excitement.   After a few minutes, he went back into the restaurant and returned with a white table cloth, champagne and champagne glasses so we could have our own silent celebration while we were in hiding.  I can't tell you how much that meant to us.  In addition, when the newly engaged couple came back to find us, both men took the time to meet the newly engaged couple. As we reminisce about this day, The Sleeping Lady Mountain Resort will be a big part of what made this day so special.  We are forever thankful for the kindness and thoughtfulness of your people.   Kindness really does matter and I pray that you will be treated with the same kindness. Forever your fans, Tani Iverson & Family

Yelp
We had the pleasure of staying here during a conference this past summer. It's been a repeat spot for years because of how family friendly it is and our experience confirmed it. It's located a few miles outside of Leavenworth- we know because we walked to town from there! It can be a little tricky to find so when google says your close, really watch for the turn. The check in area is the first cabin you come to and they're relatively helpful. They were often a bit short staffed and at times found it fine to help guests with somewhat esoteric requests while families needed to check in. Minor detail, but big deal when you've got a tired 2 year old - if it were us being asked to wait while mom and kids checked in, we'd totally understand. Post check in, we were directed to the cabins. Everything is laid out in areas with eight or 12 townhome type cabins. They're very nice and very rustic feeling. Really gives you the "cabin" type feel as most have a bed, a small couch/bed area next to the window and potentially a lot. Word to all, the loft is legit and very high up! We supervised the little dudes anytime they even looked at it as it was about 15 feet up. We ended up in the loft - actually my best half slept there, while the youngins and I had a sleepover downstairs. Figured it was better to have a crummy night sleep than one trying to scale the loft in the middle of the night! There are a number of trails that go throughout the entire campground. They connect all the different lodging areas, the restaurant, the pool, the mess hall and make for a lovely bike ride. We had some great rides and great walks while there. As the little men do love animals, we were excited to see deer, squirrels and rabbits a plenty! The pool and hot tubs were nice and the mess hall had pool (billiards), ping pong and some stuffed animals. A solid spot to kill some time! The restaurant was good, mostly buffet style stuff, but good quality. There's also a bar area with some good drink for when someone else is watching the kiddos! All in all, a very nice place to get away and relax with the family. One we'll probably check out again conference or not!

Yelp
This was our first time here and we enjoyed our stay. We got the Loft room which feels like you're sleeping in a log tree house. It is a little snug inside since its 325 sq feet but it was enough space for my husband and I and our little baby. This room has a full size bed+ twin bed downstairs and another full size bed upstairs in the loft area. If you have smaller kids like toddlers definately be careful with the ladder going up because its very steep and they can easily climb it and fall off. They also had a wonderful selection of Numi organic teas + coffee in the room plus real mugs. There was also a fridge in the room which was nice to store leftover food, but the downside was there is no microwave. We arrived closer to 4:30pm and it was already getting dark and there wasn't enough lighting on the property at all to find our cabin on the pathways. It was also quite slick and slippery in some areas from ice/snow especially with no lit paths. I would definately recomend they add some lighting or Xmas lights on the pathways especially for night time safety. Also the parking lot is quite far from the cabin area we were in and having to haul luggage with a baby was a bit challenging. They do provide a wagon that you can put your luggage on to carry your stuff which was helpful. Check-in process with seamless and the staff was friendly. We booked our stay through booking.com since it was about $65 cheaper then the resort site. Overall, we had a good time staying in nature and the main Leavensworth town was only a short 5min drive away with plenty of restaurants and shops to explore. They also offer spa services and have a restaturant onsite if you're not looking to venture off. Sadly the pool area was closed off for renovation but they did have an organic garden area to walk around. Also we were able to see a family of about 7 deers which was cool! And sincd you're in nature and right by the mountains there is a chance to see bears as well and front desk handed out a sheet with things to do and not to do in case you encounter one.

Yelp
Loved the place, gives you the feeling of cabins, room is clean ( despite some ants), location is great close to Leavenworth village, the food was good, staff were friendly and it was almost empty. I wish if the outdoor pool was open, it would have been great experience, we were able to work around the resort which was nice and were able to see 5 deer near the pool :)

Yelp
This is my fourth time coming and j would say it has gone downhill since my first visit. The food is hit or miss, usually pretty good but isn't consistent enough. The grounds are lovely, and the rooms are comfy. This last stay however it seemed that nobody really cared too much about keeping the rooms nice, or that things were in order. The conditioner bottle in the shower did not work, so my hair was a mess. The staff at the front desk were not overly helpful, the woman who rented my snow shoes didn't know anything about snowshoeing or the trail.... I enjoy coming on this yearly winter trip, and I enjoyed staying at the Sleeping Lady- but for the price they need to not be so comfortable with their business.

Yelp
Sleeping Lady is named after the profile of the mountain because it looks like a woman lying down. This place is full of unique art pieces and you can even do an art walk. This resort has it all. It is so well spread out here too. Why wouldn't they be spread out if their property is nested on 67 acres? There are different clusters to stay in. There is a laundry room, play barn, fitness room, pool, hot tube, volleyball and horseshoe area, library, and restaurant. Dining at the Kingfisher is a delight because it is an all you can eat buffet with so many amazing choices to choose from. You have to make sure you leave enough room for the variety of the dessert they offer here. We stayed in Fountain Cluster. It was a two story wooden cabin. As we walked out our door we saw the Tsutakawa Fountain of Dreams.

Yelp
This review is only for the Grotto (there doesn't appear to be a separate listing on Yelp). TLDR: great ambience, go there for drinks only. We were driving through from California and a friend of mine whose mom lived here for a few years highly recommended eating here. I haven't wanted to give a bad ranking to a restaurant during covid for obvious reasons, but our experience went beyond acceptable. The only reason for the 2 star is that the awesome bartender averaged out the negative rating for the rest of our experience. The bartender / drinks = 5 star Ambience = 5 star Food = we asked the waitress how long of a wait for food (because we were one of the last tables to be seated) and she seemed to indicate no problem. So we ordered an appetizer and said we'd wait until it arrived to order our main. It literally took one hour before the appetizer arrived. We cancelled the pizza because we didn't want to wait another hour. The bartender was extremely capable and even warned us about the delay - I feel like the waitress could have been much more educated about the delays. Even despite this, we heard the waitress offer another table a free round of drinks because they had to wait so long for their order. Having to wait one hour for an appie and we didn't even get an apology for the delay (let alone an offer for a free beer or glass of wine) was significantly disappointing. Ambience / drinks = yes!

Yelp
So sad. What was once a luxurious, relaxing resort, is now a dump. The grounds are unkempt, the new pool is tacky, the organic buffet is gone, and the restaurants are worse than a cheap diner. The rooms look like the old Sleeping Lady, but even the amenities are more akin to what you'd find at a Holiday Inn. This used to be our family's special retreat. But, with the change of management or whatever has happened, we won't be back.

Yelp
We had a wonderful chefs menu dinner at Kingfisher last night...and our server, Hans, was amazing!!! Big props to flexing your model to make things special during COVID-19...we will definitely return for another meal soon!

Yelp
Stayed here one night with 3 friends. Stopped at the front desk on our way back from having dinner to request additional robes to enjoy the hot tub only to arrive at our room in less than 5 minutes to find the door slightly open and a hotel staff member rushing out of our room. As soon as we were with eyesight of the door we all seemed to notice that it was open longer than necessary. My friend noticed right away that her wallet was peeking out of the top of her purse when she consistently places it at the bottom, underneath the rest of her belongings as a precaution. She opened her wallet to find her credit card and drivers license missing. A call was immediately placed to the front desk to initiate a complaint who advised my friend to "look harder" and that she "likely misplaced it." Another call was then placed to law enforcement to file a report. Shortly after calling the police there was a knock on our door from an employee inquiring about whether a call was recently placed to the police, which led us to believe that they utilize some type of police scanner. This employee indicated that they would like to speak with their staff before we "jump to conclusions." It was at least an hour before we received any follow up from the housekeeping manager, who was unable to offer any type of compromise. Was unable to enjoy the rest of our stay due to our feeling of unease in leaving our belongings in our locked room. Will not be returning.

Yelp
Unbelievable food, service and surroundings. The price may seem high but the food was delicious and healthy. Good selections for vegan and gluten free diets. Rooms were very comfortable and clean. Soft towels and linens. European style towel warmers in the bathroom. I could go on and on. We had a delightful stay.

Yelp
Big ripoff and few if any amenities! the hot tub was in a gated area that was hard to locate and the gate didn't even work! There was caution tape everywhere and we had to cross that. Customer service was terrible! there was a yoga class but it was full! restaurant was over priced and forget it if you have kids! Everything was full and overcrowded. Our kids had the best time scouting around the mountain in the back area of the "resort." Our bunk cabin was sparse but clean but certainly not worth the $300/night before taxes. This is not really a resort nor is it a nice place for a family to stay

Yelp
Thought it was a bit expensive when I booked it around Christmas time, but seems like a great place. So we went and had a blast. The dinner, breakfast, and spa was included in the package that costs $554/night for 4 people. Dinner costs around 45/person and breakfast 21/person. Both dinner and breakfast were good, and all the servers provided good service. So, it turns out, it was quite worth it for the price that they offered. Amenities were great too. I love the little quiet library and the play barn. Didn't have much time to enjoy the hot pool/spa,but we definitely would next time!! Location is perfect, as it is located just minutes away from German town Leavenworth, but not too crowded and as expensive compared to the ones in town. Rooms are great, overall, we are satisfied staying here!! Recommended!

Yelp
Overall, a great stay! Worth the extra money. This resort is made up of bundles of individual cabins and mostly everything inside is an easy 5ish minute walk away. Staff were very helpful and friendly! My favorite parts about my stay was the pool, the barn house, and of course the buffet meals that came included in our package. Lots of amenities including 24-hour game rentals&popcorn with flavored salts at the office, pool/ping pong/jenga/puppets with a stage for the kids in the barn house, pool and hot tub, art walk, and amazing views of the famous Sleepy Lady mountain. You feel disconnected from the hussle and bussle of Leavenworth but your still a short drive away. There's a few dining options on site and a bar that's open until midnight. A few areas of improvement were the temperature regulations in the cabins themselves-it was rather warm when we checked in at 3 despite blasting the AC, no fan in the bathrooms, and the top bunk was humid and uncomfortable when I went to sleep around 10pm in late July. I had to open the upstairs window but there's no screen so bugs could get in-but I would have sweated all night had there not been a window. Also no TV in our cabin which we found out after we booked-so ready carefully! Plan ahead for this place- they sell out quickly for a reason! Kingfisher restaurant: The food was exceptional! Fine dining buffet, need I say more? Delicious salad/soup options, and our entrees included swordfish with a yummy butter sauce, strip steak (super tender), garlic mashed potatoes, and they always have gluten free/vegan options which is our case was cauliflower steaks and roasted chick peas-very tasty! Non-alc drinks included so I got a Shirley Temple:) dessert options impressed me very much- about 10 smaller dish options and my family split 1 of each. Our favorites were the cream brûlée and the caramel bread pudding! Also got a decaf coffee with my dessert. Something else that really impressed me was the attention to allergies. We mentioned when we checked in that a member of our party had a severe nut allergy, and when she went to get her food, they had prepared a whole salad without the roasted pine nuts just for her! We were in and out in in about 75 minutes without rushing. Service was quick and attentive and our water glasses were never empty! Definitely would recommend coming here but bring an empty stomach!

Yelp
This hidden jewel is 10 mins from the main Leavenworth downtown. Once you are here, you feel like you are camping. Surrounded by trees and birds with great food. Something different than just beer and pretzels all the time. We will definitely go back.

Yelp
Going to Leavenworth? If so, the Sleeping Lady Resort is the only accommodation I would suggest, it is absolutely amazing. From picturesque views of the mountains, to cozy cabins equipped with all the essentials, mouthwatering meals and plenty of private areas to enjoy the perfect vacation with friends (great for a bachelorette party!), family (so super convenient for the little ones) or perfect a romantic getaway. A quick 5 minute drive from the hustle and bustle of downtown Leavenworth and nestled just far enough away to have complete quiet and hardly any light pollution to enjoy stargazing. One of my favorite things about this resort is the staff. They will move mountains to ensure you have an enjoyable stay. They think of the little details with popcorn available in the main lobby next to a wall full of board games, to property checks to ensure everything looks great and is perfect throughout your trip, such friendly staff at the restaurant and everyone is always smiling! I would too if I worked for such an amazing resort! Not to mention Guest Services is open 24/7 so you can pop on by should you have any requests during your stay! Let's start with the rooms and cabins. They have a range of rooms from smaller 1 bedroom with an alcove to larger rooms with bunks to accommodate larger families. They have private cabins and they even accommodate pets and provided doggie beds, treats, bowls and a leash! If your looking for a romantic getaway, I would suggest checking out their Eyrie cabin that boasts a whirlpool bath and king sized bed. Ours was a romantic getaway so we had a Queen bed along with an alcove to nestle up in with a book and cup of coffee. They are thoughtful when it comes to their footprint and sustainability, ensuring to note helpful details around the room about the lights, energy and water use. I loved the hand-hewn log beds and the down comforters, what a relaxing sleep, we both passed right out and slept like a log! They have tons of facilities on the property to accommodate all types of groups. From a full library stocked with books and cozy couches, to a large gym room equipped with several machines and tons of free weights. They have a huge games room with a ping pong table, Foosball, pool table and theater stage. They have a chapel, a Grotto Bar with some amazing cocktails, a full spa called the Aspen Leaf spa that accommodates massages, body wraps, facials, ohhhh so relaxing. They also have a sauna, outdoor and indoor showers, O'Grady's Pantry & Mercantile, gift shop, the list goes on and on! This location is absolutely perfect to host a wedding as well, so serene and quiet, your guests would love it! Don't forget to bring your bathing suits as their pool is massive! We loved the hot tub with the stones, it was the perfect temperature, and they even have adults only hours! We went for a late night dip and were the only ones in the hot tub, super romantic and great for stargazing! The temperature was perfect too and the robes were super convenient to walk in back to our cabin! With your package you can choose to include your meals which we did which is called the Great Escape, and the only way to go! We had a lovely gourmet dinner and a lovely hearty breakfast buffet at the Kingfisher Restaurant & Wine Bar. Chef Christian Mikkelsen and his team did such an amazing job. We sat outside for both to enjoy the beautiful views. The dinner was unbelievable. Not what you would expect from a resort. They served a rosemary slow roasted prime rib, sooooo good with the bordelaise and horseradish, served with porcini, the most amazing melt in your mouth Yukon gold potatoes. We also tried the Dijon and parmesan crusted Columbia river sturgeon with chilli and fennel roasted broccolini, rainbow carrots and a garden squash. We also tried the mushroom risotto with chanterelles and mascarpone. Delicious. There were a ton of desserts as well, from chocolate cake, carrot cake, berry and rhubarb crumble (amazing), fresh fruit, tarts, cookies and even gluten free cookies! For breakfast there was a massive buffet and huge range of items to try. They had 2 types of scrambled eggs, pancakes, bacon, 2 types of sausages, breakfast potatoes and yams, a cereal station, porridge station with berry compote, nuts and seeds. A lovely smoked salmon and toppings area to make lox, yogurt, different types of breads and bagels and a ton of extras. They had about 5 types of syrups, tons of peanut and nut butters, a range of jams to try. All the milk alternatives and juices you could imagine, like hemp, oat and almond milk, passion fruit juice. I could go on and on!

Yelp
Rooms: The room was large, clean and up to date. The mini split worked great. The bathroom had a towel warmer that was wonderful! Plenty of extra towels were provided. The room had lots of natural light and was very peaceful and quiet. There was shampoo, conditioner and body wash provided as well. Hot water worked just fine. The room even had coffee, tea, and plenty of cups provided. The mattress was pretty uncomfortable and worn down but was totally fine for a couple night. Pool & Activity Barn: The pool was closed for the winter but the hot tub was wonderful! Clean, hot and perfect! There is very little light near the hot tub so bring a phone or flashlight if you're planning on going past dark. The play barn had a tennis table, foosball table, and a pool table with plenty of board games. It would be great for families or groups. Food: When you think "resort" you think there plenty of food options. It is possible to eat only from there but i most definitely don't recommend it. Bar was closed same with the restaurant when they were said to be open. There were plenty of snacks to buy though. Spa: Didn't end up going to spa because it's was extremely overpriced Location: PERFECT(.) It's about 7 minutes from downtown Leavenworth. But there's no noise or light pollution. It feels so secluded even when you're so close to town! Awesome way to be in nature but close to town.

Yelp
Great hotel. We had a wonderful stay even during covid (mid- Jan) We enjoyed breakfast (O'Grady's) and dinner (Grotto Bar) outside at "fire tables". Rooms are a bit on the sparse side but very clean. Comfy bed and super soft sheets and duvet cover. We had amazing water pressure in the shower and loved the towel warmer. The staff was pleasant and friendly. We will be returning post covid.
