Slice of Humboldt Pie

This was my third time here and having tried several of the pot pies and dessert pies I can confidently say this place has some of the best food in town my personal favorite is the lemon raspberry pie as the flavors blend wonderfully and the raspberry seeds add that extra bit you didn't know you needed

Best was the guava cider,(wish it had more of a guava taste). Everything else was ok. Nice family atmosphere.

Wow...a great find as we motorcycled through the area. We enjoyed a great mid-morning snack with hot tea. The menu was very impressive. Staff members were helpful. We'll be back the next time we're passin' thru!

This place was actually super cool! I like the small vibe along with the outside area. We did go in an hour before they closed so they were really low on everything, but it’s not their fault. I ended up getting the buttermilk pie and it was super yummy!! Definitely want to go again when they have more in stock :)

Very appealing selection of pies, cute and cozy space inside. We only got sweet pie slices to go but sampled the pie cookies while waiting for our to-go order. Everything was delicious and packaged well for our drive out of town.

First time trying chicken pot pie. Was the most amazing flavors. Wish I orders a bigger pie

This is not to be missed. We ordered the pulled pork and green chili, veggie pot pie and coconut cream pie. All three were really delicious! Highly recommend.

The pie is excellent. The slices need to be bigger. The slices are only really only a taster size not full slices.

We had some hand pies and shared a slice of banana cream. All were terrific. Cute space.

Was craving something sweet and found this pie place! I don't remember the last time I had pie so this was a nice little treat for me. The inside has ample seating. They will bring the order for you at your table after you pay at the counter. What I got: Chocolate silk pie: 5/5 the chocolate was really nice and smooth, the whip cream on top wasn't too sweet so it complemented the chocolate well. The crust was nice a crunchy! My favorite pie for sure Lemon raspberry pie: 3/5 not my personal favorite as it was too sour/sweet for me. The flavors were overpowering but if you like these flavors I'm sure you would enjoy it! Nice place to stop by for a sweet craving in Humboldt :)

I have been here several times and don't know why I've never left a review. I love this little place the coffee, the ambience, the delicious desserts. What a treat! For Thanksgiving we ordered the turkey mashed potato and stuffing pot pie. Take it home put it in the oven with a tasty and delicious Thanksgiving meal And so easy to do. Everything is fresh and homemade and taste delicious. I highly recommend you give it a try.

When looking for a late night dessert, this place popped up & we were not disappointed. Whether we wanted a slice or a whole pie, there were a good many options; including gluten free pie if that suits your needs. My husband & I may have taken home four slices, but only 2 were consumed at one sitting as one slice was more than enough for each of us - both of which were delicious!! I wish we had a place like this where I lived. The man who helped us was very nice & the pie shop was conveniently next to a cider place within the same room. The restaurant was definitely busy & full of people, but they had plenty of pie. I can't wait to come back here the next time I'm in town!!!

Last time I was in the neighborhood we found this restaurant. Everything was delicious. So of course had to come here again. New location and new menu. Would the food still be delicious? This time we ordered the vegan pot pie, chicken pot pie, pork and green chili hand pie, Chilean potato, beef and potato, and chicken tinga. Yes. Yes the food was delicious. Will continue to highly recommend.

I will start by saying I'm heartbroken that we don't have this place back home in Los Angeles. We stayed in Arcata for a couple of days and HAD to try this place. We were so impressed with the empanadas (hand pies), the apple pie with ice cream and chicken pot pie (I tried the seasonal chicken alfredo pot pie). Everything was so delicious! If we're ever in the area again, we will definitely be back!

Driving past Humboldt and was craving some pie. Honestly. Found this place and tried their coconut pie (spoiler alert: it's amazing) Workers are really sweet and were constantly cleaning our table up and making sure we were comfortable. Lots of cool vintage styled art on the walls, I really liked this place.

Slice of Humboldt Pie is amazing! They use many local ingredients and work with special local companies. They have incredible savory hand pies to suit all tastes (meaty, veggie, cheesy), temping sweet slices (fruity, Dick Taylor's chocolatey, coconutty) and lovely salads in small and large sizes. They have a huge selection of hard ciders in sweet & dry varieties, with helpful taste descriptions. They also have kombucha (classic or alcoholic) and a few local wines and beers on tap. You can get a flight of 4 of almost anything which is really fun. Everyone working here is super kind and helpful, and there is beautiful outdoor & comfy indoor seating. Even the bathrooms are great: one is pie themed and the other is cider themed. This is an incredible local gem not to be missed!

Fast service, but even if it was the banana cream pie was delicious and so was the silk chocolate. I should have bought 2 of each. Definitely would recommend.

This place is great! Good food and a great cider bar next door. The patio is a great place to sit out on a sunny day, and it is right near downtown arcata with a bunch of cute shops to visit. They have good vegetarian options and I was always able to try something new. I used to go here a lot when I lived up in Humboldt and it is definitely worth a visit if you're in town.

Well, wow, just wow...not sure why I hadn't been here until today, but glad I finally made it. This place is SO good. Personnel were friendly and helpful. I had a steak and mushroom hand pie that was delectable. I expected it would be good, but it was exceptionally tasty. I also ordered a small green salad with green onion vinaigrette that was so unusual and just fantastic. The mixed greens were very fresh and the salad had sliced red onion, grated carrot, cucumber slices and grape tomatoes. Lastly, I had a slice of peanut butter chocolate pie and even though I found it delightful, I could not finish it. I'll be back to try that pulled pork/green chili hand pie!

My niece previously attended Humboldt State, so were familiar with Slice, and decided to check it out when we rolled through town. The Apple Cream slice I selected was seriously one of the best pies I've ever eaten.

Pie was great. Well made crust and ingredients!! Service is good as well!! Ambiance is cafe style where you order at a counter. Good cup of coffee too!!

Trendy, very busy. Service was excellent. Traveling through and it was pouring rain but so worth the stop. Lemon raspberry pie was excellent! It reminded of a bougie coffee shop in SF. Neighborhood feels to it!

The chicken pot pie omg! So good! We also go the raspberry lemon and the chocolate silk which were also great. It's the crust that did it for me. Wish we had one near us.

Stopped by for some pie during a trip to Arcata and had a great time! We were able to sit outside which was a plus because we were avoiding indoor dining at the end of December to avoid COVID exposure. They had a lot of covered outdoor seating to keep us warm and dry. We decided to share the veggie pot pie and the spinach and ricotta hand pie, both of which were flaky, flavorful, and delicious. We were surprised that they gave them to us warm immediately, because the display case is also a warmer so they didn't even need to heat them up for us. We also got some cider from The Local, which shares the space with them! We took our dessert slice to go, and even though I'm not a huge cream pie fan, I really needed to try the eggnog pie. It was absolutely amazing, not too sweet, a soft but still firm enough consistency, and tasted exactly like some quality eggnog. I would absolutely come back here for any sweet & savory pie!

Sooo good. I had to go back for seconds AND bought a 3rd round to take home to SF. Favorite would be the late night and Chile Verde.

This place might very well have the best pie I've ever had! Though to be fair I got the dessert pies and I'm not a picky eater. The peanut butter pie was like pie and ice cream all in one and I absolutely loved it! The service for both the pies and the drinks are quick and you'll be eating pie and having some cider in no time. I really like the seating options outside, it's perfect for hanging out regardless of your groups size.

Delicious Pie! Definitely would come here again. Personal chicken pot pie: The crust was warm, buttery and flaky. The filling was creamy and delicious. Great ratio of filling to crust. 100% would order this again every time. Chocolate Silk: I liked it but the taste was not what I expected. The chocolate mousse was incredibly rich and sort of tasted like eating a stick of chocolate butter or chocolate fudge (not that that's a bad thing). The whipped cream was very rich too. I wonder if the milk that they are using (local, Humboldt county milk?) is extra rich. The crust was a bit pale. Blueberry & Peach Crumble: Tasty, not too sweet, which was my biggest concern with this flavor. That being said it also didn't "woah" me. The crumble could have been a bit ... crumblier, the texture was underwhelming. Next time, I'd like to try their hand pies, particularly steak & mushroom and ham & swiss. Also, I hope they bring back Strawberry Rhubarb, Pecan, Pumpkin, Derby, Mocha Cream

I was disappointed in the pie I tried. I got the Apple Sour Cream and the crust was mostly uncooked. The description says crisp apples but they apples tasted raw like they hadn't been cooked at all.

Just give me all the hand pies. I can't pick a favorite and when I try I just want them all. Service is always friendly! Always clean and good vibes.

Delicious savory and sweet pies in a trendy college town. The savory pies are the standouts for me, mostly because that's a harder thing to find in real life. Sweet pies are everywhere, and these are very good (if a bit pricy). It's counter service, and the pie shop shares space with a couple other spots (notably a bar). But it's really good, enjoyable, and worth a stop.

Best quiche I have ever eaten and I grew up with homemade. Took home a blueberry pie and it was literally perfect! Great coffee and service was excellent. We will come here every time we are near Arcata!

You need to make it a point to stop here. Everything is mind blowing. Please do yourself the flavor favor and take the detour to slice of Humboldt. Beautiful wood architecture and beautiful people make for a perfect home a way from home but with pie.

Bacon quiche was delicious. Curry hand pie is amazing. Service is prompt and the facility is spotless.

Delicious pies, had great veggie curry and green chile pulled pork my husband had meat and potato and birria pie, only 4 dollars. My husband is noe in lone to get more to go ....so delicious. Trying dessert now.

We were super excited to go to a PIE specialty place... Unfortunately, it just wasn't good. Firstly, the crusts were not cooked correctly, they were pale and tough. Two of the five pieces we bought, the crusts could not be cut. Think, hard, pale, and tasteless. The Chocolate Silk Pie was dense, over sweet and the whipped topping tasted like it had some sort of stabilizer added which made it taste awful.

Oh help me that was good! I had the lemon raspberry pie and my husband had blueberry peach crumble. We tried each others' pies and were both happy with our own choice. The lemon in my pie we perfectly tart. If you love pie this is a definite stop!

Selection for all pallets. We tried four pies(folded over pockets). A chicken pot pie and a slice of raspberry lemon. I waddled out while licking my fingers. Hit the spot. First time here. They have cider as well...

This is a must visit! My boyfriend and I came here numerous times on our weekend trip to the coast. I am gluten free and they had lots of delicious hand pies and dessert pies that were GF and even some dairy free options! My boyfriend is not gluten free and tried nearly all of their hand pies with only good things to say about each one. He always tries my GF foods and we were both extremely impressed with the flaky yet buttery texture of the gluten free crusts. The service was awesome every time. We came middle of the day and another time right before closing. They had put away some of the gluten free pies at that point but did not seem bothered when they had to cut me a slice from one that was put away. We had our dog, but unfortunately it is not dog friendly even though there is a super cute patio outside. We took the pies to go but didn't even make it out of the parking lot before devouring everything. We did come back later at night to enjoy The Local Cider Bar that shares a storefront. Great atmosphere and great bartender/owner. Highly recommend having some hand pies with a local cider if you are in the area!

Love the new venue! The pies are delicious, and the servers were quick and friendly.

We had the butter tart, apple pie, and ice cream. Service was friendly and fast. The pies were tasty. We lucked out and finished eating just as it started getting busy in the mid afternoon. I expect it's loud in the evening. Would be curious to try the savory pies another time.

Great little place to grab a quick lunch and dessert. Pork and green chile, very good, love the sweet potato black bean and sloppy Joe hand pies. Bringing the chicken pot pie home!!

Absolutely delicious, exactly what we needed in the middle of our road trip. The service was super friendly too.

Cute pie restaurant! Plenty of street parking. There were seatings both indoors and outdoors. The doors were open so it was very cold even if you're staying inside. Ordering was easy. They have pies displayed and you tell them what you want and wait to pick it up from the other counter. They also have a variety of ciders too. We got the chocolate silk and lemon raspberry slices. They were good but not to the point where I'd go out of my way to eat pie in the cold 50 degree weather.

Stopped here on my way home to Sonoma. I don't know if food in Arcata is just really awful or I had bad luck on my trip but this place was so nasty. I ordered the empanada, there was hardly any filling and the pastry crust was actually CHEWY. I was going to order a slice of their pie for desert, but after the empanada filled with disappointment that tasted like bland sadness I decided to cut my losses and get back on the road. Worst crust ever! How a place that identifies itself as a "Pie specialty" restaurant messes up pastry so epically is beyond me, but they managed! Service was just ok, the person who waited on me seemed unhappy, like working there is miserable or something. I asked if my leashed dog could sit with me out on the patio? Not pet friendly, even on the patio. My dog had to stay in the car which obviously wasn't her call. I felt bad for them, so I tipped more generously than the service warrented. Everyone's had a bad job before...

Such good food! Counter service was great and friendly, and the selection was amazing.

Best pies best pies best meat pies and dessert pies. We visited this place twice on our trip. A brew tender in Fort Bragg told us we needed to go there and she was right! We tried every meat and veggie pie that they had. We also had chocolate silk pie and egg nog pie made with rum! Yum! You gotta stop here! Pie, pie, pie! I shoved a bunch of this pie in my mouth! Yum! This place was a great discovery! The chicken pot pies that my husband and daughter got were so good! I had the salad and pulled pork with chili pie. It was delicious! I can't wait to go back! I definitely recommend trying this place!

This was a delightful lunch. I went with two friends and was able to snag a corner booth inside to have a break from the wind outside. We tried the: Pulled Pork and Green Chile, Veggie Pesto, Chicken Pot Pie, Chicken Tinna, Sweet Potatoe and Black Beans, and the Steak and Pesto my favorite was the Chicken Tinna and the Sweet Potatoe & Black Beans. I loved the option of the outdoor patio as well as having a few indoor seats. We sadly couldn't eat any more food, so we didn't try the dessert pies. I loved that our group decided to get a bunch of different ones, so we were able to try a lot of options.

When we were in town visiting many of the locals recommended this place for the empanadas. We went here for lunch one day. Great outside seating. My favorite empanadas were the sloppy joe and the Ruben. Perfect amount of filling and when needed they come with the perfect pairing sauce for the flavors. Ofcourse we also had to get pie. We got the chocolate silk which was nothing like anything I have had before. I'm glad they sell by the slice because I probably would've eaten a whole pie

First of all the pies are delicious! Best chicken pot pie I've ever had! Also had the pulled pork hand pie which was equally scrumptious. We sat on the beautiful patio and had excellent service. They also serve local beer/wine and if I was the drinking type it would be wonderful place to sit and have a drink. The food was definitely enough for me to enjoy however! Prices are more than reasonable for the quality and ambiance this place delivers.

Had a slice of a lemmon raspberry pie. This has to be one of the best pies i ever ate. It was a perfect ballance of sweet and sour. The crust was perfect.

Amazing to have a GF option for pies! The crusts overall are just ok and the prices are a bit high imho. But when I need a gluten free pie. These folks come through. Not awesome or amazing GF crust but at least it's easy to shop for it rather than make one. The counter folks were really nice. That said. I asked what the ingredients were in a pie as I can't have cilantro. Instead of finding out. The counter person looked at the menu and said. "It had herbs". Oh. Yeah. Ok. Right. Cuz I hadn't just read that. Needless to say. I didn't risk it. Nice enough person but um... I would go again. I'd be selective about what I bought though. Too expensive for risking some things.

Patrick and Kela helped us out. Got chicken pot pie and strawberry rhubarb, and sloppy Joe and corn& cheese. The Squirt and Coke just didn't do justice. Service was outstanding. My CPP was the best I've ever had. It's clean, sorry, fun... With the over 1 hour drive.
