Google
Gluten free pizza was okay. They charge to 1,000 Yen extra for gluten free. Makes me feel like they think it’s a premium when in reality it’s an allergy that you cannot help… pepperoni was a bit weird. The vegan pepperoni looked better than the regular… not very satisfied

Google
Amazing place. English friendly staff & patrons with fantastic pizza, drinks and vibes. You can even get poutine and caesars. A must visit for any Canadian looking for a taste of home while in Japan.

Google
Pretty bad atmosphere, for gf pizza you would have to pay at least 3500 yen, and they make you order a drink in addition. Thats way over what i can pay for a pizza, which comes to about 4000 yen for medium sized pizza.. my girlfriend ordered vegan brunch option which was nice and was ok value for money, when we came to pay our 2950 bill we were told no credit card allowed under 3000.. cant recommend. Having 1000 yen addition for gf pizza + mandatory drink per person is much…

I saw some negative review about the staff attitude etc. And ... It was what it should have be to me (in a good way) I was hungry and craving for Pizza and Poutine 🤩 They have Vegetarian option and they even make calzone. The staff talked to me in English and were friendly. I took my order and they delivered, I didn't need any smile or long talk so it was perfect for me. Come eat, drink and go. I made a friend inside eating next to me and I left satisfied. I will go again specially for the Poutine.

Google
Absolutely some of the best pizza I've ever had. Made fresh to order and absolutely delicious. My son is celiac and this place had so many options for him. Even waffle fries (which were very, very good). My mocktail was also great and my hubby ended up having two Martinis, they were so good. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options too (makes their own sausages and cheese, including the vegan cheese). The prices were higher than other places but you definitely get what you pay for and it was well worth it!

Google
Looooooved this place. Vibes were great, the owners were so kind! English menu was available too. SO MANY VEGAN OPTIONS!!! Their vegan jalapeño bacon poutine is to die for. Everything is made by Slices, including their vegan cheese. Definitely a must if you’re plant based!

Google
Lovely pizza, staff are wonderful. Bilingual menus, very vegan friendly. Also sell vegan cheeses and organic fruits! Plus they have mocktails for those that don’t drink alcohol. Didn’t get to try the poutine but saw others order it and it looked great! Price-wise it is a little on the higher side but worth every yen.

Google
I go here whenever I feel like some good ole American style pizza. Its just perfect! The only time I was slightly disappointed was when I ordered just a slice. It's been a while, but at the time, they prepared a slice and baked it fresh. It was still good but this provides a very different edge experience. In NY, they usually reheat a slice prepared from the whole pie, and this is my personal preference.

Yelp
Let's start with the food: the Pizza was sooo good, I had the meat lovers and it reminded me of New York pizza but better! Second: the atmosphere was great, and great music and good local beer. I would so come back!look no further!

Yelp
What a gem! So amazing to find this place near our hotel. Finding vegan food was very difficult and Japan and it was so nice to find a place that can do vegan pizza. Staff was great too!

Yelp
After a week in Osaka I was craving something other than rice and fish. This pizza spot was down the street from my Airbnb and after another long tattoo session I was in need of carbs. I picked up a large pizza and ate the whole thing. Thin styled pizza and very tasty. I'll definitely be back on my next trip which is soon!

Anisia G.

Yelp
We were in Osaka checking out vegan restaurants and ran into this gem! So happy we got to try it, the owner is super sweet and the pizza was seriously so good!!

Yelp
Found this place through Shuhei's event via Meetup. One slice of pizza is 500yen and it's a good size too BUT somehow I find the taste bland. I can easily finish a whole box of Pizza on my own but somehow I had a hard time finishing the two slices that I had. Maybe I was just being picky and had great expectation of the place. I might go back if I'm in the area.

Yelp
Literally the BEST pizza in all of Japan!!!! A quaint spot in the Dotonbori area. Owner is so polite and accommodating. Pizza, cold beer and Canadian poutine, what more do you need. Highest recommendation from this connoisseur of NYC pizza!!!!

Yelp
I loved the atmosphere and how friendly the staff were. I tried the spaghetti and my two friends ordered the calzone and spicy shrimp with pesto pasta. I enjoyed the spicy shrimp with pesto a lot. I'm not too big of a pizza fan in general, but they have more than just pizza. My friends loved their food choices, too. The bread was soooo good! The calzone was delicious. I also ordered the drunken bubble tea (blueberry). They have different flavors and the alcohol that goes in depends on the flavor. The staff even gave us tips on where to go in Osaka. Thank you so much!

Yelp
Didn't get to try. Operation hour was not as per stated. Was late 2 hour opening. Or there is an information.

Yelp
Best western style pizza in Osaka. A friendly an welcoming atmosphere for even new customers. There are often special dishes as well as special events. Recently, Slices celebrated Canada Day with a variety of dishes such as a maple glazed bacon burger! For fantastic food that reminds you of Canada and the states check out Slices!

Nobu G.

Yelp
My favorite Canadian pizza restaurant! Hand made food , warm friendly service and hip relaxed atmosphere. I like their sweet deserts best!

Yelp
Full-disclosure: I'm a pizza connoisseur. That being said, Slices is not a bad restaurant. It has really fantastic desserts and a variety of milkshakes and bubble teas. And milkshakes are HARD to come by in Japan. On to the Pizza, and this may not win me friends with the foreign community, but Slices is simply not good. I've been to Slices many, many times because it's a convenient, easy place to meet up with friends, equidistant from Namba and Shinsaibashi stations. So, this is not an isolated case, it's just their recipe. To me (and anyone that knows pizza), there's two key points: dough and sauce. Anyone can throw cheese and toppings on a pie, and have a tasty treat. Only a pro can make a pizza that makes you grunt and "oooooohhhhhhhhh" with every bite. Slices....is not the later. Slices dough is not that bad, but their sauce, to this American is not acceptable. There is no spice, no tang, no kick. It's like someone just poured plain tomato paste/sauce all over the dough. This results in a pizza whose only flavor is the toppings. And for 5 bucks a slice.....It's all regret for me. To be fair, everything else I've had at Slices has been A-Ok. But.....I gotta be harsh, because the name of the place is "Slices", and with that being the case, you gotta come with your A-game on your restaurant's namesake. Sorry. Quaint place, people are generally friendly, but I wouldn't say over the top, like other reviewers. Maybe it's the Canadian side coming out. I kid, I kid, my Canadian friends! Try Slices out, but know that you can get a better "Slice" at Costco.

Yelp
Delicious thin crust style pizza in a small Canadian bar in Dotonbori. The pizza crust is perfectly crispy and the cheese is fresh and flavorful. It is served very, very hot - right out of the oven. Best pizza I have had in Japan. Being Canadian, they are (of course) fluent in English. Beauty, eh? Cash only.

Yelp
Fairly Western food place, which while I love Japanese food it was nice to have something else mixed in there. Big regular menu, good vegan mentioned options. A little pricey in that each item will ran about 6-800 yen and I had 3 but not that crazy given that it's in downtown Osaka so a bit more expensive is to be expected. The food was pretty good, I had nachos, vegan poutine, and vegan BBQ chicken pizza. Not mind blowing but definitely pretty good, if you're looking for a break from straight Japanese cuisine this is a good option. They do allow smoking inside which is a negative for me but it wasn't very busy when I was there. I'd recommend sitting near the front where there's more ventilation if the smoke would bother you.

Yelp
Wandering the Dontonburi area I saw a Canadian flag and had to inspect further. When I saw poutine on the menu, I knew I was going in. The selection was admirable- pizza poutine, nachos poutine, chicken peppercorn poutine, BBQ poutine, jalapeño & bacon poutine, and original poutine. I've had enough bad poutines to be wary of trying anything too far outside the box at a new spot so kept my order fairly safe and went for the jalapeño & bacon poutine (¥600). Staff were more than friendly, and the poutine was delicious. They used mozzarella instead of cheese curds, a common substitute for countries outside of The True North Strong and Free, but for those expats who go through months of poutine drought, Slices offers some great replicas. For those craving a Caesar, Slices can also help you out there as well.

Yelp
Was in Osaka for a few days, hit this bar twice! The people behind and around the bar are warm and real. Ask for a sanshin session and the honey white cheese pizza. Bottom line: A dive bar in the heart of it all with a feeling of the tv show, Cheers.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I just randomly discovered the place while walking in Dotomburi. The canadian flag is what got us in, the menu, staff and nice ambiance kept us in the place for a few hours !! Staff was very nice and we had a very good time there. Being from Quebec, we had to try the poutine and really, it was well worth it. We both agreed this poutine could fit on any restaurant at home, by far the best poutine I've had outside of Canada!! Overall this place was a nice discovery, we would for sure be regular customers if we'd be living in Osaka !!

Yelp
The pizza in Japan can leave MUCH to be desired. SLICES to the rescue. By the slice, whole pizzas, wraps, salads, shakes and drinks....they get it right. Lunchtime or dinner...they get it right. Bottom line...you want delicious, REAL pizza in Osaka...SLICES is the spot.

Pez C.

Yelp
While they warned us pizza would be a while, we waited over an hour for an uncooked pizza. When we asked the manager she offered us a 50% discount and to reheat it, which was appreciated, but by this point we'd lost our appetite. The shakes and sundaes were ok though.

Yelp
Best pizza in Kansai by far. Combined with a solid line up of top shelf craft beers makes Slices a clear winner for a night out in Osaka city. Not to mention the killer dessert menu. Easy to find and the staff just rock.

Midgett P.

Yelp
Easily my favorite pizza in Osaka and Kansai at large. Friendly staff, fantastic food and drink menu, can't ask for more than that. A must-experience for a night out in Osaka!

Yelp
Great lunch special with pizza, salad and a few small appetizers for ¥900. Usually has people smoking in there but most of the staff is friendly and very nice. They have one lady working in there who uses bad language (in English) when something as simple as a bad song comes on the radio. Which made it quite unpleasant to have to listen to her talk while eating lunch there. I recommend this place as long as that lady is not working there, she's unprofessional.
