"Step Back in Time at Sloan's Claiming to be Glasgow's oldest bar, Sloan's traces its history back to the end of the 18th Century. There's certainly a sense of history at the watering hole with its round bar and faded facade. Thankfully the drinks selection has moved with the times and there's a good selection of ales and beers on tap."

First time in Sloan’s and I knew within half an hour just by drinking at the bar that I fricking love it here! The entertainment with the Irish songs was top notch, beers are great as well - I love how their Scottish lager is brewed locally to German purity laws, so you know it’ll be good! So were the Scottish IPAs and Guinness I came up here for the monthly macaroni themed buffet event. April’s theme was Greek. I won’t pretend the food was the most mind blowing stuff I’ve ever tried, I believe they’re better at being a pub than a restaurant but the food was good and the atmosphere just topped it off. The staff did a great job. It was good enough I took some of the “mystery mac” (which was Greek style mousaka) in a takeaway box. I would 100% come back here on a monthly pilgrimage, and I come all the way from Oxfordshire for the privilege! Yes it really is that good! The historic decor just adds to the charm of what Sloan’s claim is the oldest pub in Glasgow. I’d love to try the other items on the menu as well Please, just go here. Don’t question it, just do it. You’ll be in for a good time one way or another. I wish I didn’t live so far away, I know I’d be a more frequent visitor if I was based near Scotland

Good vegan options and they got us seated last minute on Mother’s day! Was a bit pricey overall but maybe typical for Glasgow, there was a service charge added on that we weren’t informed of either despite it feeling like quite an informal pub grub type meal. There was only 3 of us as well so not a big group or anything by any means.

I've been to Sloans a few times now, and one thing is clear—you have to try the mac & cheese. It’s iconic for a reason. I’ve had it with several different add-ons, but my favourite combination so far is bacon and sunblush tomatoes—seriously delicious. It can be tricky to get a table inside, and with Glasgow weather being what it is, I definitely recommend booking in advance to avoid sitting outside. Inside is cosy, atmospheric, and perfect for enjoying the comfort food Sloans does so well. On our last visit, my partner had one of the burgers topped with mac & cheese and said it was amazing. Honestly, everything that comes out of the kitchen looks and smells fantastic. It's the kind of place where you find yourself eyeing up dishes as they pass by, wishing you had room to try more.

My friend and I popped in here having found it by chance. It is down an alleyway off the main road under an arch. Cool outside space with benchs and the food menu did look good. You do have to go inside to order and staff were friendly. Has a ballroom and music with some history around the bar which is interesting. Two double vodka and mixers were 25 quid. Definatly worth a visit

Good was ok, good macaroni and cheese with smoked mackerel, but burger wasn’t interesting. Staff was nice, ambiance was fun but so loud! It was very difficult to hear each other. Sound level wouldn’t make me go back unfortunately. Upstairs had beautiful architecture, worth looking. There was a show and we didn’t have tickets, but they were kind enough to let us have a peak!

Very good food, sharing plate great if you want to try different things. Pub feels oldschool and has very nice outside terrace.

Sloans hosted our wedding on Saturday 14th of June and we were delighted with how the day went. Jennifer and the team were terrific and looked after us well. The food was excellent and the service superb. Highly recommended.
