It's like a Dennys... don't come for anything but breakfast if you want quality food. I ordered the French dip and it was gross. The meat tasted .. "funny"?.. maybe close to being spoiled? But my kids loved their breakfasts. When I asked the manager where the bathroom was he replied twice that they didn't have a bathroom? Not so funny when you have a child who has to go... anyways... we won't likely be back. A lot of places have great breakfasts. And again if you want a decent lunch too... this is not the place.

Omg the food here is sooooo delicious, we were visiting Indio and got breakfast here we got crepes and a apple fresh toast ,everything was fresh, delicious and mouthwatering, plus the waitress was sweet and make us feel comfortable and welcomed

Google
This diner has excellent old-fashioned service with friendly staff and delicious food. Our coffee cups were never empty and the coffee was so good you could drink it without sugar. We definitely recommend this for a great breakfast.

Stopped in on our way to LA and wow, our server was wonderful! So rare to have such outstanding friendliness these days! I ordered the fajita salad and I could not even believe how much chicken was on this salad! I have never seen a salad with such generous portions. Ever. I could not even finish the salad- it looks like I hardly touched it but I am so full. My husband had a Reuben that was perfection. His fries were also perfectly done. The prices were very reasonable! Coming from Arizona we expected prices to be higher, but they are comparable to AZ but for far more food and way better service. Friendly, down-home environment. Feels like an authentic vibe - truly a rare experience anymore!

Google
The good: the service was fast and friendly. I got a hot chocolate and it was delicious. The bad: the food needed seasoning. The worse: I ordered a side salad to compliment my meal. The "salad" was just lettuce, onions, and croutons. This place seemed to be a great spot for breakfast but I would never eat dinner here again.

Google
Local spot that is usually busy but worth the wait. The service is friendly and prompt and the options are abundant! Was able to walk in on a Saturday morning for a party of 2 and had a delicious breakfast. They do serve lunch and dinner which I included menu pictures but can't speak to personally. The resturant is large and has both inside and outside seating which is a nice option. If you're in the area worth a stop!

A staple of Indio for over 45 plus years. The owner his staff his cooks are on point. What a great place to get just about anything. If you love a dinner than you will love Sloans. They literally have everything from breakfast lunch and dinner.

Google
I was out here visiting friends and need a place to reboot after a king night and this place did just that. Food was delish and made just right. Some of the best bacon I had in a while. A lot locals come here, so it does get busy be prepared to wait. Get the hash Browns and French toast.

Yelp
When ever my family want to come spoil ourselves for breakfast, we come here to Sloans in Indio. We've been coming here for as long as we can remember. Always amazing staff. We all always order the German Pancakes, personally my favorite pancakes anywhere. You have to come try this

Yelp
This place is straight out of small town 1980's family restaurant The good: - our server Maggie was helpful and patient - they allow dogs (under the table) - surprisingly good Old Fashioned - Herb biscuits with a bit of burnt cheese - fried pickles were lightly covered tempura with a good flavor and crispy - sweet potato fries The could be better: - ribs were fatty and uniform (kind of like chicken McNuggets). - processed ribs? - pub steak was "meh" - chipotle chicken sandwich was beaten thin with a huge red bell pepper - not spicy It was a fine experience, but not something I would plan to go to. I hear the breakfast is the star. Maybe I should have ordered that.

Yelp
Came this local little family breakfast spot along join some peaceful time in the desert. Just a heads up it does get busy on a Sunday morning as the usual for breakfast spots that are good. After about a 20 minute wait so we got our table we seated fast and our waitress was prompt to take our order and get us drinks to our table. Now onto the food. This is some good old American old-fashioned diner/restaurant quality food .. the omelettes were big and tasty, and there was a slight egg surcharge added to each one of these, which I guess is par for the course nowadays but I wish the restaurant would absorb some of these costs. The farmers omelette was a mix of all three meat, bacon, sausage, and ham. This thing was delicious and Phil and the hashbrowns were extra crispy which I love. My wife got the veggie omelette and she said that was pretty good also which came at Home style potatoes which were crispy crunchy and also delicious. The pancakes at this place were great too slightly yellow and color tasted like buttermilk, soft, fluffy and warm. Loved these things also. Great little breakfast spot reasonable pricing good service. What more can you ask for on a Sunday morning go give it a shot. It's worth it.

Yelp
Was in town with friends and came here for breakfast and we all really enjoyed the food. It's definitely a locals diner/restaurant vibe and despite being packed at 11am, they seated us right away. The food service was a bit slow but they were attentive and the portions were large which we appreciated as the price was a little steep. I got the gravy and sausage eggs Benedict and loved it. It was more so a biscuit, sausage and gravy muffin with the egg on top but it was so good. The gravy and what seemed like homemade biscuits were delish. By far one of my fav breakfasts I've ever had. My friends tried the crepes, chilaquiles and scramble and all really liked it. I also got the smaller Bloody Mary which was pretty cheap and decent. It was a good experience and I'll def be back when I'm in town!

Yelp
I was in the area and was in need of some delicious pancakes! I like pancakes that don't need syrup. This place gave me exactly that! My chicken fried steak was delicious. I will definitely be back when I'm in the area again.

Yelp
Sloan's slaps! I wish there was more Non-Chain diners in the world at least in California. Sloan's is great. They have everything, breakfast, lunch and dinner. You name it. They're going to have it. Service is always nice but on the weekends it gets slammed so be prepared. They also have a cool little bar in the back to watch football. Get your drink on. There's nothing like getting an omelette hash, browns toast and a screwdriver. Good times. You name it. This place has it! Give them a try, it's worth it!.

Yelp
Sloan's in Indio embodies the charm of a classic American diner. The menu offers a good selection of traditional diner favorites. I had the spicy bacon omelette substituted with egg whites. The omelette was packed with flavor, perfectly cooked, and the spicy kick added the right amount of zest. I wish the hash browns were cooked a bit more, however. The service was attentive and fairly friendly.
google avatar

Yelp
Sloan's is good considering the location, especially if you're looking for something that is not a chain. I was perfectly happy with my breakfast and my parents seemed content with theirs. The staff was good. You definitely get that comfortable local diner feel.
google avatar

Cynthia M.

Yelp
Lots of variety on their menu. Portions were more than generous. And the food was tasty. I would definitely recommend Sloane's.

Yelp
I love a breakfast diner! Everyone was so sweet, my server Letty was great. The biscuit and gravy was so good and the price was great. A must visit in Indio
google avatar

Yelp
Not gourmet by any stretch, but wholesome down home-style cooking served with huge portions and great service. Very reasonably priced.
google avatar

Tammy B.

Yelp
I really like this place. They are ALWAYS busy, have great food, lots of choices and many of the servers have been therefore a long time. They have an amazing $20 Bloody Mary that's also a meal. It takes 20-30 minutes to make so if you order it, be prepared to wait, especially if they're busy. It's totally worth the wait! I wish I could still drink Bloody Mary's! Slogans is a family restaurant so well behaved kids are welcome. Please don't bring screaming, messy brats in tho. No one likes that! Especially the people that have to wait on your table. Just sayin'.

Yelp
Popped in for taco Tuesday and had a great time! Great food, great service from Rose and really enjoyed the environment. We will definitely go back.

Yelp
Mom and I love Elmer's in Palm Springs and this place looks just like it and has almost the same menu. One of our favorite things there is the German pancake. This one looked the same and was prepared properly however it was dry , very flat on the bottom , and sadly tasteless. I read that this was Elmer's before Sloans took over. It's busy so I guess people like it here. The hash browns tasted like old grease. Fried nicely but not good. My girlfriend loves the banana nut and date pancakes. Those were good if you like your pancakes on the thick side. Bummer , we still have to drive from palm desert to Palm Springs if we want German pancakes.
google avatar

Yelp
What's not to love about this place? French toast made with real eggs. So many tater tots they should have their own Zip Code. Eggs done perfectly. Plus quick service and happy servers. This is our permanent stop when leaving Coachella.
google avatar

Yelp
Three of us dined for lunch today in the bar. Cozy and pleasant is how it felt. The server was great, the sandwiches were perfect for us--one Santa Fe Melt, one Patty Melt, and one open faced Chili Burger. They have a restaurant attached but it was big and comfortable--we peeked in. The bar has 2 TVs. Today featured a tennis match from the Boss Open in Stuttgart, Germany.

Yelp
Food, service & location all great. Wondering why we haven't been before, will certainly return. The menu is abundant with variety of choices, breakfast, lunch, & dinner. Home cooking at its best! Have said many times we have to try Sloan's & now we have & loved it!

Yelp
This was a treat to eat at Sloans in Indio. The line of people were out the door and we thought it would take forever to get a seat. We were called quickly. And it's a very nice looking restaurant.

Yelp
First of all walking in it kinda takes me back to like 70s cottage farm lol idk if that makes sense but all the staff here are so nice and accommodating I was a little weary of it all but as soon as I sat down right away I was asked if I needed coffee or water The menu:very simple but damn they have a lot of options I decided to go with the scramble skillet with potatoes eggs bacon ham and kalabasa my siblings got the chilaquiles omelette, biscuit and gravy, and pancakes THE SCRAMBLE was so good omg I love the potatoes and the flavor was really much there then the pancake was so fluffy and just melts in your mouth they even give you fluffy butter on top! This is my first time here in Indio and I'd definitely recommend this place it feels like a hole on the wall but everyone's so welcoming and the food tastes very homemade and delish!
google avatar

Yelp
This place has great customer service. The servers are so nice and the ambiance is your typical breakfast set up. The food, especially their Pancakes are so delicious. Not to mention the food comes out quick and hot.

Yelp
Wow! Great food and service!! Just walking into this place, it looks like a good place for breakfast (breakfast vibes). We were greeted and seated right away.. Friendly staff and special shout out to Veronica (great server). I had the bbq ribs with baked potato, baked beans and a biscuit. The ribs were cooked to perfection; great bbq sauce too. The baked potato was so tender and delicious. The baked bean stayed hot (temperature wise) the whole meal, tasty too. The biscuit was moist and full of flavor. Definitely coming back for more; especially breakfast now.

Yelp
Clearer signs outside would have helped us not walk through the bar connected to it. I thought that was pretty wild. 56$ for all those food seemed like a ripoff. This restaurant had a peculiar smell right off the bat and we should have turned around and left but we were hungry. Nothing had been cleaned - the menus, the sticky chair, the booths. It all needed a hot scrub. Maybe the smell stuck to the carpet and they just haven't replaced it since opening. The layout of restaurant was pretty questionable as well. You could tell they lacked structure right away. I think management needs to invest in some sort of new ways of doing things - habits, expectations, examples. It's like they could half butt it and get away with it which is what they are doing. Some plug in air fresheners would help! The waitress was nice and the Arnold Palmer and Strawberry milkshake were good, but the also *not pictured* cornbeef and hash looked crazy. It did not taste that great either but my partner was ok with it. Again we were just hungry. I would not come here again and I don't recommend this place for any of the major dishes. If you want something simple like pancakes this might be for you. I did see a lot of senior citizens here. I would not come here again.

Yelp
We decided on this place because the food looked good and reviews were descent. We walked in through the bar since the entrance is off the Main Street and there isn't really a sign for you to know that's where you walk in. Some local bar patrons said to go through the walkway and we would be in the restaurant but that the bar was more fun . We opted to go into the restaurant but, went back to the bar for a drink after and hopes to catch the dodger game but, it was delayed due to rain. I opted to get the prime stroganoff and it was really good and the prime rib was tender, the dinner biscuit it came with was like a red lobster biscuit on crack. SO GOOD. I also added a dinner salad to my meal for $4.99 but when the bill came it said $5.99. No big deal but, people might freak . The salad was mediocre, it came with onions and croutons which I love but the lettuce was kinda soggy, and the onions were huge rings and were dry. Pretty disappointing for $6. My wife got Their famous pork chop and really enjoyed it. Drinks were cheap and the food wasn't badly priced. All in all. We would come back next time we're in the area.

Yelp
We were in town visiting and saw 881 reviews and a four star on this restaurant had to try it. The food was absolutely horrible and the bill was over $48. My husband's eggs Benedict had two eggs that were like hard, boiled eggs, don't get me started on the gravy. I stuck my fork in it. It stood straight up. The biscuit was so dry. It was like it was dehydrated, and the bacon was so burnt to a crisp. It was hardly edible. If you don't believe me check out the pictures. And then the waitress didn't even offer a comp and saw that I barely ate any of the food. My egg was small as a a silver dollar I've never seen an egg that small in my life.

Yelp
Well me oh my, I'll be darned, and Lordy Lordy, did I just have one of the most amazing French toast concoctions! Got here fresh and early on my way to Quartzsite from my stay in Coachella and this was the earliest place open. This was not merely a French toast, this plate was a MOUNTAIN OF DECADENCE!!! The thickest French toast you could imagine, crispy on the outside and soft and supple on the inside. It is topped with a YUUUGE pile of syrupy fresh strawberries and that is topped with a sugary coated pecan crumble. If that is not enough, the French toast is filled with this gooey cream cheese cream/syrup that helps balance the sweetness but adds RICHNESS to the whole dish. A VERY memorable meal. Also: very sweet wait staff!! This is my find of the month to be sure!
google avatar

Laura G.

Yelp
This was a great place to stop on our way home from a trip to the desert. Lots of choices, breakfast served all day, and the food was very good. Wait staff was friendly and helpful, and prices were reasonable.
google avatar

Yelp
How have I never reviewed Sloan's? Best breakfast in the Valley. Omelettes are good, pancakes are good. Chicken & Waffles are still OK, but they haven't been able to fry their own chicken for a while, so using frozen strips. During the season, we give up on weekends, but can get in on weekdays. The staff are all friendly and efficient once you get seated. In the Summer, we'll go back to Sunday mornings.
google avatar

Yelp
My boyfriend has been coming here for years and this was my first time. It was an incredible brunch experience! The mimosas are huge! And you gotta try a Bloody Mary! They are famous for it! The Benedict's are amazing and the pancakes are a must! I'm looking forward to trying the French toast. The service was incredible! 10/10! Thank you!

Yelp
Loida- was amazing waitress. Food amazing!!! 1000% great This place can't be missed!! Ambiance was homey! German pancakes/ Regular Pancakes 1000% YUM!!

Yelp
We were in town while working a festival and were looking forward to eating breakfast after a long weekend, but were disappointed in our service. It took about an hour and 45 minutes to get our food. I understand it was busy, but tables at other sections arrived after us and were able to finish and leave before we even got our order taken. We were unsure who our server was since she never introduced herself or checked up on us at any point. My order ended up being completely wrong- had mushrooms which I can't eat and the wrong cheese in my omelette. Seemed like our server was having a long day.
google avatar

Marissa F.

Yelp
Went for breakfast the morning after a wedding. This was one of very few breakfast places I could find. It was busy for sure on a Sunday morning. Our waitress was busy and distracted and often times felt like she totally forgot we were there. My bacon was perfect, eggs were good and the gravy biscuit was decent. I think the chocolate chip pancake (besides the bacon) was the best part.

Anica A.

Yelp
I've been working the festivals bartending out here for three weeks straight, and only ate Sloans for breakfast. The best diner food! Literally get the chicken fried steak everytime and it's a beautiful thing. Crispy and with perfectly cooked oozy over medium eggs and bomb home fries. We always get here early because they get packed out but they get you in and out, service is great, food comes fast even when they're packed fugggg yeah shoutout to Kathy our server, she's the best!

Adell L.

Yelp
Good hearty breakfast food, generous portions. Waitress efficient, several other staff picked up plates, brought coffee, etc. Manager was excellent, knew immediately to bring us to the table where our friends were waiting. Waitress was efficient but mildly distracted...it was very busy and very noisy!
google avatar

Shell L.

Yelp
We eat breakfast here every time we are in the area. Food is solid and the service is excellent.
google avatar

Yelp
The food and service here is amazing and the staff is very helpful I've been to Sloans a lot and the food never disappoints.it will always be my go to and the ambiance is pretty solid. 10/10

Yelp
Came in for a crepe and chorizo Benedict and they were both delicious! The service was fast and the staff was kind. But this shout out is especially for Justin!!! He went above and beyond to deliver exceptional customer service. Give this guy a raise!!

Yelp
Great service, amazing staff, hospitality is always impeccable. Thank you Mr. Sloan you never disappoint MUCH RECOMMEND!!!

Yelp
If you are driving on Interstate 10 and are in the mood for good food, SLOANS is it!!! My daughters recommended it and thankfully we were able to enjoy it as well. It is a real treat! The restaurant is clean, and has a family oriented vibe with nice staff/waitress (Loida). She recommended a chorizo and egg plate for my wife and it was delicious. I ordered their Firehouse skillet and gotta say, it was fantastic! The coffee is good and strong. The house salsa was great and Loida put a on top of our experience by giving us one their famous buttermilk pancakes. Topped with whipped butter and their own original maple syrup. I'm telling you, it's delicious!!! We are going to be eating here whenever we come out to the casinos or visiting with friends. So treat yourself and family/friends to a great little gem of the Desert Valley and EAT AT SLOANS!!!

Yelp
Old school 'greasy spoon'. This spot used to be an Elmer's location. It serves breakfast (all day), lunch and dinner. The food is hearty and the service is good. We ordered the Old Fashion Corned Beef Hash with Pancakes. A good dish, served with eggs. The hash wasn't too salty and the syrup for the pancakes has a hint of molasses - very tasty. The Low Carb Grill (The High Fat Grill) is filling (Cheddar eggs, two slices of bacon, two sausage links, two slices of Canadian style bacon and sliced grilled tomatoes). Sloan's is a sold stop if you are in this neck of the woods (desert). There is also an old school lounge in the back. Good stuff!
google avatar

Yelp
Pancakes are amazing! The ambiance is chill, laidback. The service is top notch! Perfect breakfast place!

Yelp
Great service and good was amazing . We where a party of 13 and they sat us together and we where able to have three checks
google avatar

Yelp
Service was fine. Food is beyond yuck. Frozen fruit on the crepes, nothing to write home about . Save your hundred and go to McDonald's.
google avatar

Andy W.

Yelp
Wow! I've eaten breakfast all around the country and this experience was up there with the best of them. The decor was kinda rustic and there are lots of tables (so the noise was a little elevated), but that didn't detract from the main event - eating breakfast. It's a huge menu, serving everything from eggs and bacon to skillet breakfasts to pancakes to omelets to soups and salads and sandwiches to burgers to chicken pot pie to prime rib to steaks etc, etc, etc. And pretty much everything on the menu is served all day. I ordered the chicken fried steak breakfast with pancakes and biscuit and gravy as sides (ok, I was carb loading). Not only was everything delicious (the gravy was to die for), the portions were huge. My wife selected the Ranch House Scramble. See the photo below for details, but it was also excellent, and provided a second breakfast to boot. We'll definitely be back...
google avatar

Shanelle S.

Yelp
Homey restaurant with large portions. Came here with a group of nine and we had no reservations, but they were still able to seat us within 15-20 minutes on a Saturday around 11am. Free spacious parking lot. Credit cards accepted. Good for kids. They do serve alcohol and have a lunch special where you can get a beer and a burger. They still serve breakfast later in the day. Vegetarian options are available. Indoor dining only. The omelette were large and came with a choice of two sides, which I felt was pretty generously portioned. I got hash browns and a pancake for my side. I had enough food for a leftover breakfast the following day. Service was quick and efficient. Overall, a good choice for breakfast!
google avatar

Wendy B.

Yelp
Service was a little slow but worth the wait for this delicious Bloody Mary! It is a meal in its self. Would go back just for this!
google avatar

Sandra C.

Yelp
Sloan's is a solid breakfast place. I like that even when it's busy, I don't have to wait too long to get seated. They have a variety of standard breakfast options and there are also coffee refills. It's nothing fancy, but it's a perfect, no-frills place when you're looking for American breakfast foods. Even though the servers were running around, we received good service, our meals came out on time and still hot, and they were prompt with giving us takeout containers and the bill. Chances are very high that I will probably come here again for breakfast, likely several more times at least. It's also a 2 minute drive away from one of my favorite boba spots in the area, great for dessert after your meal.
google avatar

JR E.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place, come here with my wife all of the time! Would recommend everyone who is and isn't from the valley to check this place out!

Yelp
Was visiting from out of town and googled nesrby breakfast spots. This place looked nice so we stopped by. I was torn between the German Pancake and my usual go to, The Chicken Fried Steak. I went with the pancake. My friend got the Chicken steak so I got to try it to. EVERYTHING was amazing. This is probably one of my favorite breakfast experiences in a very long time. The waitress warned me that the german pancake could take up to 20 minutes to prepare. I was ok with that. She made sure that all our food came out at the same time. I wish I had gotten her name . She had short hair and was just awesome. Coffee was good and mugs were kept full :D I am going to make this a regular place when im in town. So so good!

Gina B.

Yelp
A great local, family run restaurant. Great service, great food, clean restaurant and no wait. Win-win on all accounts! Highly recommend.
