This is certainly an oasis for weary travelers. We were so comfortable in our beautiful rooms. It's private and quiet. Breakfast was absolutely delicious. Choco the Labrador welcomed us with tail wagging. Words cannot really describe how lovely, peaceful and comfortable our stay was. A definite do NOT miss.

We stayed here two nights, and we will definitely be back! The rooms were clean. The grounds are well cared for. Breakfast was made with love and was delicious. But the best part is the management. They are very friendly and attentive. We love Slot Canyons Inn.

Nice quiet place to stay. Beautiful views, the staff was amazing! Breakfast was more than we ever hoped for! We had a fresh homemade breakfast burrito with fresh fruit, really good homemade toast, a yogurt parfait, orange juice and coffee! It was a feast to say the least. The only small complaint is that if you're sensitive to high pitched sounds the wifi router makes a sound from hell. But we just unplugged it and all was good and the sound was gone! We plugged it back in when we left the room to leave in the morning. We wished we could have stayed more nights it was an really amazing one of a kind gem! Highly recommend!

The accommodations were top notch. The rental was actually a suite, not just a bed and bath. The owner was our host and very nice and informative. The breakfast was excellent and the property grounds were so pretty. I would definitely stay there again.

The inn is so nice! Joette ensures that all her guests are comfortable and happy. Everyone at the inn is so nice and welcoming! The creek in the back is so relaxing. Just watch out for the cows! The rooms are comfortable and always clean. It is just the best!!!

This B&B is truly a hidden gem. It is tucked 5 minutes outside of the town of Escalante convenient to the Grand Staircase and all the wonders it offers. Located up a short dirt road you have to keep your eyes peeled for, it is a rustic and beautiful setting like being on a farm nestled up to a rocky hill. Our room was quiet and comfy with a lovely gas fireplace and large soaking tub and dark at night. The only annoyance was a rooftop unit outside the window that came on occasionally for a short period of time making a humming sound. There were few fellow travelers there so I can't say what the noise level would be if the place were full. Breakfast was wonderful and the owner just a delightful woman who spun amazing stories and was a totally gracious host. She is retiring and handing the place over to another couple but she lives on the property and will keep her hand in the business no doubt. I fully expect the quality of service and comfort to stay the same under the new management. There is a guest refrigerator in the kitchen for you to use but no coffee maker in each room. Good coffee is available downstairs by 7 am at least when we were there. Pay close attention to the directions they give you, our Google Maps took us right to their driveway but apparently other software may not be so accurate. There are signs on the highway and you can see it from the highway but easy to miss if you are not careful. I would stay here again in a heartbeat! Oh one more thing, there are several decent places to eat in town, Outfitters had huge gourmet salads, excellent pizzas and huge delicious desserts!

Had a tremendously wonderful visit here. This place is a gem hidden in a beautiful overlooked area of Utah. The staff Caroline was an amazing hostess. Thanks to CJ for giving me a great welcome and wonderful information. Will definitely come here again. Food was awesome. They paid attention to every detail, especially preparing food for my daughter who has gluten issues.

Slot Canyon Inn is a true hidden gem that blends rustic elegance with heartfelt hospitality. Joette has created something truly special. Every detail of the inn reflects her thoughtful touch, from the locally crafted artisanal décor to the timeless, old-school charm that makes you feel instantly at home. The atmosphere is both refined and welcoming, with beautiful spaces that invite you to relax and savor the moment. Carolyn’s warmth and attentiveness added to the experience, and the food was absolutely delicious. It was fresh, thoughtfully prepared, and full of flavor. This is the kind of place you’ll want to return to again and again. 😊

Yelp
I spent one night here in October 21 on my way traveling through some national parks. This was my "nicer" stay for the trip as I was tent camping a lot of the time. I stayed here before a day trip into some slot canyons nearby. The property has a beautiful view and is well taken care of. The main building is clean and well taken care of. I really liked the dining room area. The breakfast that was provided was really good and plenty of food. My favorite part of it was the yogurt and granola and the muffin. I thought the staff and owner were very friendly and welcoming. I had a comfortable stay in a room a stones throw from the main inn. It was clean and comfortable. I'd be interested in a room in the main inn for my next stay. I appreciate the work done here and the care given for their guests. Great place to stay!

Yelp
Upon arrival, I felt like family. Absolutely stunning location with a laid back vibe. The rooms are beautiful including the lobby. Such amazing touches throughout. The location is perfect to take advantage of the plethora of activities near by. The attached restaurant North Creek Grill is worth a visit. Highly recommend, it's a gem of a location!

Yelp
This is a fabulous inn is on gorgeous property right near the jaw dropping slot canyons.. Joette, the lovely owner and host greets her guests each morning at breakfast, and she runs the classiest establishment ever for reasonable prices! Our huge spotlessly clean room had a gas fireplace, a jacuzzi, a huge outdoor deck, and sunrise views over the mountains....Candy the breakfast chef is phenonmenal, serving up special gluten free breakfasts for us with a warm smile and a big heart.. Her gluten free muffins with homemade plum preserves were especially spectacular...And i heard her regular muffins were to die for too! Chaco the dog is so friendly and funny... he loves moving boulders and rocks with his snout and paws...its pretty amazing... A fabulous stay... i would come back in a heartbeat!

Yelp
We stayed at the Issac Riddle Cabin over Easter weekend and absolutely loved it! The cabin sits up towards the top of a hill above the Slot Canyon Inn and just below the small rock cliffs. This place has all the character you expect of a cabin from 1899 with some nice modern touches added as it was moved and renovated in 1999. We thoroughly enjoyed the charm and character of this place. Every window is a stunning view. The deck that is covered out front and uncovered to the side, was a perfect place to sit and relax at the start and end of every day. Every morning I enjoyed coffee while watching the sun rise. The cats that are around the property (three of them that we noticed), would show up every morning a few minutes after I'd sit down. Rosco (owners dog?) would also stop by for a visit usually in the evening; though some times in the morning as well. He followed us on a couple of hikes around the property including when we walked down to check out the turkey farm, horses and some of the other sites around the property. The cabin is set back and up the private road about a hundred yards or so from the inn. It has it's own private parking. The feeling is one of being fairly secluded and private, yet it is convenient to the inn if you want or need anything. The beds were exceptionally comfortable. Showers and bathrooms were nothing like a 5 star hotel, but were certainly fine for us. The cabin is three levels, with small toilet closets (yes, very small) on each of the three levels. We will be staying at the Issac Riddle Cabin every time we are back in the Boulder / Escalante area -- absolutely love this place!

Yelp
We spent 2 nights for our 40th anniversary at the Slot Canyon Inn and it was a wonderful experience! The room was awesome, complete with canopy bed, claw foot tub and windows looking out on the deck that came off of our room. The view was beautiful pasture along with gorgeous rock formations and sky. The owner is the sweetest person and cooked us a fantastic breakfast each morning. We had just stayed at Ruby's Inn which felt like a box. This was a bit of paradise in the desert. Loved it!

Yelp
We spent three days at Slot Canyons Inn and had a great time. The place is immaculate and Mrs. Rex and her crew bend over backwards to feed everyone their individual food needs. Most nights of the week, they run the North Creek Grille from 6 o'clock to 9 PM. The food was very good--we ordered steak that came with a piece of lava rock hot off the grill that we could warm up our steaks. Delicious. Behind the inn there are pictographs and petroglyphs from the Fremont culture and later tribal art. Early pioneers scrawled their names as well, but the real find was discovered about 12 feet below the current surface, where artifacts and remains dated about 11,000 years old were found.

Yelp
We stayed at Slot Canyons for one night last week. We arrived at check in time and found our name and room key on the desk. We found our room and settled in. The room was clean, nicely furnished and large. There was 3 large windows looking out over a pasture full of cattle and horses. A door led to a spacious balcony with chairs and tables. There was a large bathroom with a a huge jetted tub and separate double shower. In the kitchen, we found coffee and snacks. For breakfast, there was a large buffet with muffins, fruit, juices, homemade granola, and a wonderful "scramble" containing eggs, cheese, potatoes and more. Breakfast was wonderful! We are looking forward to visiting again next year.

Yelp
We spent a night in the Anasazi room in May 2018 before moving on to some wilderness adventures. It was an incredibly comfortable and relaxing room. The hot tub was awesome and the outside patio offered an expansive view of the property as well as the Aquarius and Kaiprowitz plateaus. The entire property is clean and well decorated. The owner, Joette, has obviously put much work into the place and her effort really shows. I recommend dinner at the onsite Rock Creek Grille. The steak was great and I'm pretty sure I saw the cow it came from earlier in the afternoon! We would also like to commend LeeAnn (LeeAnne?) who provided us with a great morning breakfast and who was also very personable and great to talk with!

Kenton B.

Yelp
A wonderful B&B located just a stones throw from the town of Escalante. Great laid back ambience with very modern southwest decor located on a working ranch. Jolette, who runs the B&B is a wonderful host & very gracious! They serve a delicious hot breakfast that changes every day, including Crepes & Quiches that are to die for. The farming & ranch pastures around the B&B provide a very relaxing environment to blend into over a glass of Vino! When you get back from your day's adventures, they have a fantastic restaurant where they cook your meal over a wood fired grill. From Ribeye Steaks to Pizzas, it's the best meal you'll find within 50 miles. Kristin serves you up with an infectious smile & Mack cooks them up to perfection as you sit out on the patio under the stars! And you don't need an Uber or LYFT to take you home!!! You won't want to leave once you arrive.

Yelp
Amazing inn. Beautiful views, comfortable bed, deck for looking at the stars. Delicious breakfast and friendly staff. Can't wait to stay again.

Jason P.

Yelp
Joette is a truly kind and gracious host. The property is as beautiful as many national parks. It really makes you feel like you've stepped back in time to the old wild west. They've found a bunch of Native American archeological artifacts on the property. We love the architecture and how bright and comfortable the inn is. Joette also makes the most amazing breakfast. She made homemade granola, eggs, avocado toast, fruit, and this delicious baked apple crumble thing that was so good. If you ever visit Escalante or Bryce Canyon, you should do yourself a favor and stay with Joette at the Slot Canyons Inn. You will really enjoy your stay.

Mauritz N.

Yelp
We had dinner and it is a cozy little restaurant in their outdoor area. Very comfortable and staff very friendly. Everyone in Escalante is so friendly! The food was very good and fresh! We also had their desert and it was to die for... I will definitely go back if I am back in town!

Darren B.

Yelp
Awesome rooms, close to tons of great hikes, amazing staff! Couldn't be happier with this experience

Mike B.

Yelp
Best 5 star B&B in Utah. Very scenic and makes for a great base camp to explore the beauty of south central Utah. There is even an archeological site on the property. The rooms are very elegant and ours had a jetted tub and fireplace. We spent an anniversary here and are very happy with the experience. We look forward to coming back here again.

Yelp
Really nothing bad to say about this place, was very glad to have found it in beautiful but not very developed Escalante, UT (which I'm sure Escalante residents are happy about) Start the day with a very good well balanced breakfast, had eggs, pancakes, fruit, selection of breads, muffins/coffeecake. Great location between some of the sights and hikes of Grand Staircase Escalante Nat'l Monument and Bryce Canyon. We enjoyed both spots. Got helpful hints from the staff. Our room (we stayed in Dance Hall Rock) was very clean, cozy (but not small) and quite comfortable. Great bed too. 2 decks (one was shared with the next door room, other was private) Dinner at the on-site restaurant (North Creek Grill) was also very good and was convenient in that you don't need to leave to get something great to eat. Property was just gorgeous, great scenery just a couple of miles east of "downtown". Lots of animals on the property including 4 of the friendliest cats you'll ever meet and Roscoe the hound who was a nice guy tooo All in all if you are looking to stay in the area to explore you aren't going to do better. Would easily recommend this place to others without hesitation and if we ever go back I absolutely will stay here.

J B.

Yelp
We were there for a Wildland Trekking trip. Wonderful service and the rooms were very comfortable and modern. Highly recommend staying there! The food was also excellent.

Yelp
Just left Slot Canyons Inn B&B this morning and I already miss the barncats! They are so friendly and just hop right into your lap for some serious snuggle time. Roscoe, the sometimes in residence hound is also a big ball of mush! I also loved the manager, Jennifer, who tried to go out of her way to make sure every guest had everything that they needed for a pleasant stay while always keeping a cheerful attitude even though it seemed at times that she was the only person on staff. I did feel like the inn was quite understaffed... After our first night, housekeeping neglected to even touch one of our rooms and while the beds were made in the other room, only 2/4 trash cans were emptied, no toiletries were refilled, and the worst was that they didn't refill the toilet paper. I was the lucky one sitting on the throne calling for TP SOS. It was just awkward not asking for tissues because we didn't want to add to Jennifer's work load. The electricity went out for a few hours after a thunderstorm and they didn't have any supplies like candles or flashlights to help us see in the pitch black bathrooms trying to take hot showers after getting soaked on a hike. On the upside, the water was still hot. The majority of stores and restraunts in town also closed due to the power outage. IMO, if I lived in such a remote area, I'd get a couple generators. While breakfasts were hearty and pretty good, again, I felt like Jennifer was on her own trying to feed something like 20 hungry people. She is such a kind and sweet lady, I just wish it didn't seem like she was completely overburdened with everything she has to do! On the other hand, their restraunt seemed well staffed and the veggie pizza was good. My mom wasn't too thrilled with their meatloaf and was still hungry when she was finished. The spinach dip was actually kind of gross. We stayed three nights and only ate there the first night. Oh, and we could only connect to the wifi in the lobby...

Yelp
We wanted to stay in Escalante for the last night of our trip in AZ and UT to really enjoy the beauty of Scenic Byway Utah 12 and Grand Staircase Escalante. I found Slot Canyons through a Google search and quickly made a reservation and picked out a nice room with a view. The owner was super responsive and we were all set quickly. This was our first experience staying in a B&B and it was such a great first experience. The property was beautiful, the views were incredible, the room was nicely appointed and the breakfast was amazing - she really put out a great spread! An added bonus was that we got to play with the owner's granddog, Roscoe - what a sweetheart! I highly recommend visiting this B&B while enjoying the parks of Southern Utah!

Yelp
My husband and I are in LOVE with Slot Canyons Inn! We spent 1 night in the Moonrise room. One night was definitely not enough...we kinda wanted to just move in! The upstairs studio was adorable! The bed was SO COMFORTABLE! The sheets were soft and the mattress was perfect! We actually tried to look under the sheets to see what kind of mattress it was but we never found the tag. :-( The shower was great! The kitchen was a good size and had lots of essentials. We walked around the grounds and saw cows, horses and cats. One of the cats decided to take a little hike with us. The property is very quiet - no road noise which is great! The only sound we hear were the cows every now and then. We didn't eat breakfast in the morning, but we did have dinner at their restaurant, North Creek Grill, which was FANTASTIC!! Kristen, who is one of the owners, was also our server. Loved her! She was just so warm and welcoming. We DEFINITELY want to return!!

Ted H.

Yelp
Took me a while to review this place - we were here two Falls ago and could not have had a more perfect stay. The accommodations were great, the food outside was a satisfying end to a day out in the desert, and we felt very welcome and at ease. We came here for two nights to experience some slot canyon adventures and it was great to be able to unwind in the evenings and mornings. After coming back stinky and muddy, the hosts were gracious and invited us into their home with a smile. We met not only the hosts but some of the other guests and even ran into some of them later in our travels - it was a delight to stay here, for sure.

Yelp
I've literally NEVER written a good OR bad review on Yelp with regards to a hotel, inn or lodge, but my stay at the Slot Canyon Inn required one. The Slot Canyon Inn was a stellar bed and breakfast. The inn itself is recently remodeled and in terrific condition. It's located uniquely on it's own ranch a few miles from the town of Escalante. Just an amazing setting, with ranch animals and a terrific view of Escalante. The rooms were terrific. Our dinner was locally farmed beef and extremely well done. Our room was big enough to sleep four adults comfortably. Our breakfast the next morning was UNREAL. Just can't give this place enough praise. It might be more expensive than others in Escalante, but there's a big reason why. Night and day when you see your choices firsthand. Literally wouldn't stay anywhere else in Escalante. I recommend you don't either.

Salman M.

Yelp
5 stars. The inn is located in a ranch about 5 miles before the town of Escalate. It is a little hard to get to after dark - so plan on coming up early or understand the intricacies of the directions. The rooms are spacious and well priced for what you get. The vistas all around are splendid. The place is family owned and operated - there is breakfast in the morning that is freshly prepared. They also operate a restaurant which has patio seating - we ate dinner there on the patio - the setting was amazing. They have cats, a dog, and a couple of horses - a bonus. 5 stars.

Lara H.

Yelp
It's perfect for a combination of outdoor and elegance. Family owned and everyone is delightful. They have a great restaurant and outdoor kitchen on the property- by far the nicest restaurant within 100 miles of the location. It's on a property with the river, cows, and the beautiful rock mountain views. It has an archaeological site right behind it which is very interesting. At night you can see at least a billion stars in the sky. The atmosphere is soothing and healing. The woman who owns and runs Slot Canyon Inn, Joette, has a sweet and sophisticated elegance of her own. She is a wonderful person to get close to and know. The house has many beautiful sitting areas. It would be great for any season to stay here. The beautiful rock fireplace, the many outdoor porches on both the lower and upper decks have fantastic views.

Brian R.

Yelp
Slot Canyon Inn is a wonderful Bed & Breakfast located just five miles West of Escalante. The Inn was designed as a Bed and Breakfast from the ground up, and it shows! The architecture is wonderful, the rooms spacious and quiet, each designed as a separate suite. The Inn also includes a grill, available for dinner without reservation for guests, and the owner is friendly and helpful. If you are thinking of trying the place then I assume you know why you want to come here? Hiking, horseback riding, ATV trips, Bryce canon, Kodachrome canon, Petrified forest, slot canyons near Tropic, lakes, fishing, archaeology and beauty everywhere all within short driving distance. Should you wish to explore further afield, Zion national park is about 2.5 hours away -- close enough for an easy day trip. Why stay here instead of another B&B or a hotel? The home and site are gorgeous. You are located well back from Highway 12 in a serene pocket at the base of the hills. The summer sky and the skyline are amazing, the night sky and the stars well worth staying up for (each room has an outdoor deck). This is a very casual, family friendly place but sufficiently elegant and quiet to make a lovely and romantic getaway. You can stay as little as a day but that is such a waste with so much to do and see!

Carol M.

Yelp
This is the first Yelp review I have ever written. I felt this Inn was so remarkable that I had to complement them. My husband and I only spent one night there but agree that we want to return for a longer stay. Jennifer and Jared were particularly friendly and helpful. Jared showed us some wonderful pictographs we would not have found ourselves. We enjoyed our walk around the inn itself. Our room was very clean, comfortable, and attractive. The breakfast was delicious. The setting is beautiful. We loved having the cats around. The restaurant on the grounds had delicious food and friendly service. I feel we have discovered a gem in Utah and look forward to returning.

Sissie P.

Yelp
It does not get any better than this! We travel to this area almost every year. Never before have we stayed in the perfect place. The setting, decor, artwork, breakfast, friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, ample size and decor of the rooms, the comfort of the beds and quality of the bath -- EVERYTHING! And they have wi-fi that works! Not always the case out here. Slot Canyons Inn is officially my new favorite B&B -- for any place in the country! Every day breakfast was terrific and different. Always fresh fruit and juice, nice choice of the quick and simple things and great special dishes as well. We were here for 4 nights, hiking in the area. We were really fortunate that their wood-fired grill opened near the end of the stay -- also terrific. The location is great for hiking the Grand Staircase of the Escalante, Kodachrome Basin, Willis Creek and could even be used to venture further, like up to Capitol Reef or back to Bryce Canyon, although these are each about 1 1/2 hours away. We will be back!

Mike D.

Yelp
We just came back from a 3 night stay. Accommodations were excellent, the breakfasts were wonderful and the dinners quite good too. Convenient to Calf Creek Falls hike and Devil's Garden/Spooky & Peek-a-boo Canyons.

Tim B.

Yelp
A fantastic location and a equally awesome view from the patio area of our super cool room. The stars at night were out of this world! The breakfast was wonderful and the effort put out was heart felt for sure. Make sure to have your evening meal at the restaurant attached to the B & B. Was well worth it.

Rosalita N.

Yelp
This was a perfect way to end a day spent at Bryce. It was a bit of a drive from Bryce, because even though it's not a lot of miles, there was traffic leaving Bryce and the road through Escalante Grand Staircase Monument was not a straight path. It was, however, a breathtaking drive. So different from the landscape in Bryce. The inn itself is the perfect mix of simplicity and comfort. There were four of us, my husband and I and our two teenage boys. I loved that we were able to get a room with and adjoining room that had two beds. The bathroom had a jacuzzi, which really hit the spot after riding in Bryce. We had dinner there that night, and it was very good. The views from the deck were amazing. We left a bit early the next morning, so we weren't able to enjoy breakfast. I would definitely recommend to others if they are headed from Bryce north.

Burbalicious X.

Yelp
Wonderful! This is a new & modern B&B with tasteful southwest decor. The innkeeper, Joette, was so friendly and helpful. The inn is on 160 acres so it's fun to walk some of their trails, and we also enjoyed sitting out with a glass of wine on our private balcony. Breakfast was fabulous (scrambled egg pizza, yogurt and fruit with homemade granola, homemade muffins, etc). We were sorry we only got to stay one night, and will definitely stay here again if we return to Escalante.

Stanley M.

Yelp
We stayed at the Slot Canyons Inn during our spring Southwest roadtrip. A wonderful place. We'll spend more time here in the future and make it our base for more exploration in the Devil's Garden and the slot canyons.

Rick B.

Yelp
Slot Canyons Inn is a GREAT place to stay in Escalante. Joette is always friendly and accommodating. The property is in a beautiful location with great views. The rooms are very nice and comfortable. Breakfast is great and the meal loaf dinner was superb. My son and I have stayed at Slot Canyons Inn 3 times during our father/son outdoor Utah vacations and love it. We will be staying here again next week with my wife and mother in law staying for the first time. A must stay!
