Have you had breakfast pasta before? I went to Small Ace Kitchen in Brunswick and I am so glad I tried their famous breakfast pasta! It was so delish! I wanted to try their pistachio latte but they told me it’s very sweet so I hesitated in ordering that. But I really appreciate their honesty 💚

The Sicilian chilli scramble is by far one of the tastiest things I've eaten in a long time! 10/10!

What a gem - loved it! I met some friends for brunch. I ordered simple scrambled eggs with avocado and bacon 'steak'. It was all absolutely delicious. Staff were friendly and the iced coffee was amazing.

Small Axe Kitchen in the heart of Brunswick is a gem. Their meatballs are truly to die for, bursting with flavor and perfectly cooked. The ambiance is fantastic, offering a great vibe that's both friendly and cozy. But what truly sets them apart is their exceptional staff, who will go above and beyond to ensure a memorable dining experience. A must-visit for any food lover.

Excellent place for coffee and lunch. A lovely gem in Brunswick, Melbourne. Great outdoor seating area for summer. Warm and toasty inside on winter days.

Edit - have been back many many many times to Small Axe which is now decidedly one of my weekend brunch staples. My favourite dish is the chilli scramble eggs. Coffee is lush. And staff are beautifully friendly. Love this place! Nice experience at Small Axe Kitchen this weekend. Staff are vibrant and lovely. Menu is super innovative and exciting, you won't be disappointed with the variety of options. Tried the breakfast pasta which was a funky option at 9am 🍝 pasta was al dente and guanciale was perfectly cooked. Purely for my taste buds I found the sauce a touch citric, but it definitely was fresh. Meatballs were moorish and rich. My partner mentioned that for his palate they were a touch sweet, but everyone has their own preferences. I'll be back to try out some more options. Thanks for the innovation guys, love it 👍

Yelp
Breakfast pasta is that a thing? If it's not it should be. Small Axe's breakfast pasta is a salty rich delight. Micro herbs, homemade pasta, egg, parmesan, peas, ricotta and guanciale (similar to pancetta). This dish alone is worth a trip to this north side cafe. You can sit inside or out as well as out the back. There is a good neighbourhood vibe, staff are friendly if a bit casual. Coffee had a lovely flavour; smooth, rich with almond like notes. I do prefer it hotter but maybe that's just me .. and I was sitting outside on one of the colder days of the year. Food and coffee is good here, they just needs a bit more polish to take it to the next level. Music - interesting ambient tunes, easy to chat Newspapers - no ... I love to read the paper over a coffee, this is a bit of a deal breaker for me

Yelp
After hearing about this so called 'breakfast pasta' we had to give this place a try, and it was absolutely lovely on a sunny Sunday morning. Such a brilliant new spot in Brunswick. They're probably still finding their feet, so service was a bit slow to begin with (didn't help that there were plenty of people waiting for tables!) but once we got settled in and ordered food and coffee, it was a dream. The Code Black coffee was excellent, and the menu has a Sicilian influence with something to suit everyone! We went straight for the brekky pasta, and it was bloody good. Beautiful maccaruni pasta with guanciale (similar to pancetta if you haven't had it before), peas, mint, ricotta and the most perfect slow cooked egg. There's a great outdoor area which is probably best for those with prams, but otherwise there's some lovely bar space in the front windows, and some more intimate tables down the back. Will definitely be back soon to try some more of the menu!

Yelp
Great place with amazing coffee! I had their avo smash and it was delicious. The pomegranate, pepitas and fior de latte together with beautiful heirloom tomatoes - it all balanced perfectly. If I would live closer I would come here often, today it was the perfect place to kill some time while waiting for my Dejour jeans;)

Yelp
This is a great cafe with great food and delicious coffee. It's very chic and trendy. However the staff at the cafe are so busy talking to other staff and regular customers that the wait time for things (most especially coffee) is probably 3 times what it could and should be. There is a girl who is often on the coffee machine with a nose ring and shoulder length hair who is obviously incredibly good at her job and makes consistent top quality product, BUT SHE JUST DOESN'T STOP TALKING. I understand that you have to wait for a good coffee, but when you're by yourself on the machine and there are 5 people waiting for takeaways, your customers would appreciate you at least making it appear like you're going as quickly as you can. Stop talking about your week to everyone that'll listen, focus on your job and help us go about our day.
