Honestly i am overwhelmed after coming back from Myanmar. The country has probably the cheapest hotels which are over the top clean and have very good facilities.||||Same for this hotel. The location is alright . The hotel has a roof top restaurant with moderately priced menu. If you do not want to dine there you can always take a tuk tuk to the Chinese Night Market for food which is quite cheap. There is a small convenience stone nearby but nothing fancy.||||Coming back to the hotel. The staff is really nice perhaps the most friendly hotel staff among all the hotels I have stayed in Myanmar.||||The rooms are big. They have all modern facility . My room had a balcony which you can enjoy in the evening with a couple of drinks. The balcony is shared with another room. I had taken the club room , I suggest you take the club room since it is quite cheaply priced.||||The hotel provides free parking and free breakfast. The breakfast is quite big and elaborate considering the room prices. They had noodles, fried rice, pan cake, french toast / pan cake, few fruits , cereals and eggs to order. Only thing come for breakfast early and not during the last 15 minutes of the closing time.||||They have a room top balcony where you can enjoy nice view of the Mandalay Palace and enjoy complimentary cocktails which they offer during happy hours sometime.||||Overall a very good stay.

They charged INR 1500 for a clean room per night including next morning's elaborate breakfast for two. Yes, they provide excellent breakfast, their rooftop dining area is another attraction but the property needs to replace old looking carpets/towels, etc. ||||We booked two same category rooms, but they allotted different type of rooms in different floors, one quite spacious overlooking the road while another one (number 602) was really small. There was no hot water supply in room 602, and they couldn't fix it during our stay. ||||We stayed for two days, and are our dinner in the hotel itself. Really loved the grilled fish, served with lemon sauce. Also enjoyed stir fried mixed vegetables but on second occasion mushrooms and capsicums were missing. So some quality assurance is needed.... for example, tomato soup was more like a tomato gravy.||||Staffs need some training, specially in dining area. Must share our dinner time experience, like you may have to ask for plates and spoons once your food arrives. They take very long time to serve an ordered dish, fried rice reached the table after we could no longer wait but finished off stir fried vegetables. Kitchen is probably in the ground floor, hence food is not piping hot when they serve but food is freshly prepared and very tasty. ||||||||One very young and very thin boy in the reception was only person who could communicate well in English.

The hotel is well located with friendly staff members, especially at the restaurant on the rooftop. Even in the heat of May, the restaurant and reception areas were always kept cool and welcoming for the guests. The room was large and had a bathtub for a relaxing time.||The room has a table for working on the computer with and good internet. The power keeps going off in Mandalay but they turn on the generator often. Rooms are cleaned well every day. Overall a nice stay!

This hotel is very good value for money. However, it is very basic. The rooms are very compact but clean. Though we got upgraded to a superior twin we were in a small room with no window and you could hear the pigeons through the wall. For anyone looking for a cheap alternative, this is a good choice and the location is good. But if you are looking for any kind of comfort this isn't the place to stay.

If you are planning to be in Mandalay for only one night then this would be an ideal place to stay. The hotel is run down and the age shows in its carpeting or rather the lack of it. The bathroom had good supply of hot water but I wish hotels like this understood the importance of good ledging. ||||The breakfast was pretty basic and gets extra points for having an egg station. ||||Special mention to the front desk staffs Mr Tinn and Mr Sithu who had plenty of recommendations about local eateries and even arranged us a car for sightseeting.

We had a good stay in smart hotel. In my view this would have been a 4 star hotel 20 years ago. It's just an old classy hotel, but still with the facilities. Breakfast is good, free bike rental, friendly staff, water and toiletries are provided, it's just old fashioned. If you don't mind this, it's a great place to stay.

I have visited Mandalay many times now and always stay at this hotel, so I figured I would make a new review.||||Although the rooms are old, outdated and could use remodeling, they are comfortable and clean. Some rooms, like #405, are quite large and with fast W-Fi, and a strong air conditioner and refrigerator, makes this hotel a good choice for longer stays. ||||The price is another selling point for me as well: lately, I have been able to find rooms on booking.com for around $20 USD per night, no credit card info necessary. ||||I never eat breakfast, which is included free of charge, so I can't comment on it, but I do drink tea on the balcony outside of the restaurant in the morning.||||I also like the neighborhood which is very quiet at night. The hotel is within walking distance of a few of my favorite restaurants and beer stations. ||||There is also a very authentic morning market around the corner on 77th street that I often visit. I have never seen a fellow tourist there.

This has been a fantastic hotel. It is safe and trusted. Will keep the rooms very clean and I was very happy to find out that there was a bathtub and a real shower after so many places with just pouring a bucket over my head. It is priced perfectly right as well. There is a laundry service and restaurant on the penthouse. I highly recommend this location to anyone.
