My boyfriend and I stayed at the Smart Hotel for the first stop of our South America Journey. The duration of our stay was 4 nights.
Upon our arrival at 10 a.m. our room was not ready yet, but we were pleasently surprised to hear that our room would be prioritized and that we would be notified via whatsapp, should the room be ready early. We explored the city for a bit when we got the message about our room being ready 2 hours early. We also had the opportunity to change after our travel day before going out.
The room itself was spacious, with a double bed, a sofa and a desk-ish area with a TV. The Bathroom was decent. The big windows give the room an airy feel which is complimented by the great views on the rio de la plata as well as the Palacio Salvo.
The room was a bit dated and there were some spots on the walls and a crack in the ceiling above the shower. Though the room has many mirrors, they were all already corroding. For me the blanket was a negative. Essentially it is a blanket between two individual bedsheets, and if you move even a little bit it the bedding situation becomes really uncomfortable and chaotic.
The Hotel is located very central, so it can be rather loud outside at night, but it did not bother us too much. It is also important to note that the hotel is not soundproof.
We did not have the breakfast included but tried it once, since we had an early morning. For the rather steep price of 14 USD it was disapointing to say the least, so I would not recommend it.
Overall it is a nice hotel to stay in for a few days, with decent rooms, great staff and some room for improvement. It is located right in the city center and everything is reachable on foot easly, with the Rambla being 10 minutes away. You can reach the nearest beach within 50 minutes on foot.
The Staff is super nice and friendly and the 24h reception is a great Plus!
