One of the best places to swim with sea turtles in Turks and Caicos. The beach is nice and peaceful since it's not in the commercial area of the Island. Entry into water is rocky so water shoes are must. One of the best snorkeling spots on the island since the reef is close to the beach and don't have to swim very far to find plenty of fish and sea turtles.

Great place to snorkel. Easy to get to, well marked. Reef is super close to shore. Walk further down beach to get in and float, drift back towards marina. We saw several turtles, puffers, squid and barracuda. Beautiful beach, narrow during high tide but find a rock and place your belongings. Get out before jetty for easier return to shore.

Absolutely stunning! If you want to see sea turtles, we have seen them here 3 days in a row. We have also seen a ray, barracuda, tiny jellyfish (no one got stung and we swam with them for a while), a short nose bat fish (wild looking creature, google it) lobster and a ton of gorgeous fish. The reef is fairly close to shore and you can absolutely snorkel as a novice here. Pretty good size parking lot and one of the better roads that leads to a beach. Turtle harbor entrance/exit is here and the boats are very aware of snorkelers, they keep a good distance and I’ve felt safe snorkeling with my family here. There’s some shallow beaches for little ones in the inlet. This beach is a snorkeling and swimming beach, no surf.

Great place to snorkel for free. Other reviews talk about how good this place is but let me talk about who this place is not for. If you are not good with swimming in the ocean get a life jacket. There is no one to save you if something goes wrong. There are no people around. It’s pretty secluded. So this is not a place for amateurs. I am an amateur and that’s how i realized. If you have sensitive feet it will be hard to get into the water cause the coral when you enter the reef is sharp so get water shoes or fins. There is NO SHADE anywhere on the beach.

Small beach with great snorkeling, really only good for snorkeling and relaxing. Not for little kids just because there's so much rock and coral.

A little gem for some snorkeling off the proverbial beaten path. At the end of a dirt road located with a small parking lot right next to it. The reef basically starts at the beach thus entering is a bit treacherous but still easily doable without shoes. Note - there is no infrastructure there, i‘e no shower, umbrellas etc so come prepared.

Just back from Turks and Caicos. Highly recommend going to Smiths reef. We stayed at Port of Call a 10 min cab ride to Smiths Reef. CJ our driver took us there and brought us back a 12 dollar ride per person each way from our hotel. We stayed about five hours. The coral was beautiful and the fish plentiful. Swam with sea turtles. Saw many barracudas and loads of bright playful fish I recommend starting to the left of the reef and making your way to the red water markers to the right The current makes it easy About three reefs in total. We thought about doing a snorkelling tour but decided to go here first Never did the tour So glad we came here. Others out snorkeling but not over crowded
