Smokvica Dorćol (Belgrade, Serbia) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Is there anything better than the ease of heading upstairs to bed after a good meal? That’s the idea at Smokvica Dorćol, a comfortable B&B which sits above one of five Smokvica restaurants scattered across Belgrade. Both the restaurant and its upstairs rooms are housed in a historic building which is notable for not only being designed by Serbia’s first female architect, but also for being the home of famed sports journalist Marko Marković. Now a protected cultural monument, the property houses six double rooms and an outdoor terrace for summer breakfasts, and makes ideal Belgrade base just a few minutes’ walk from Republic Square and the popular Skadarlija Street." - Tablet Hotels

The food here is always lovely. We also had a pitcher of their apple lemonade with ginger and it was so refreshing. The service was a bit slow inside and the food arrived almost cold but we didn't mind since the outside part was very busy and we were seated inside. The choice of food is huge and everything is top notch. Always a big recommendation.

Absolutely delicious! Friendly service, great hospitality, and a cozy atmosphere. The food is always fresh and tasty. The shrimp risotto and lavender gin are simply the best!

When we came, the top floor (supposed to be smoke free area) was closed due the fact it's summer, outdoor seating takes more attention and they can't focus on both areas. So we had two options, to sit outside (at 36 degress Celsius) or be inside among smokers. The issue would not be good enough for me to write a review if not for a waiter who responded quite rudely when asked if we can sit upstairs (at the time we didn't know why it was empty). His answer was "It is not that smoked up in here that you can't take a seat" which rubbed me a wrong way.

Visited this restaurant during our visit to Belgrade (group of 6 people). What made our evening was outstanding service provided by waitress. She was suggesting dishes we can share without being pushy and we were all happy with the choice. Her service was a testament to what Serbia is known : hospitality and going extra mile to ensure guests feel welcome 👏👏

Love this place. Stayed for three nights. Room was spacious and bed was super comfy. Breakfast choice was great and the food was tasty. Had one evening meal here and it turned out to be the best one of the weekend. Staff were really nice and polite. They also had a half price cocktail evening after 6pm with the cocktails being well made and presented. Would definitely stay here again!

A Hidden Gem in the Heart of Old Belgrade – Smokvica Dorćol B&B Rating: 5/5 Tucked away on a quiet, leafy street in the soul of Dorćol, Smokvica Dorćol B&B is more than just a place to stay — it’s a feeling, a rhythm, a gentle exhale in the heart of Belgrade. From the moment you step through the charming courtyard, shaded by fig trees and ivy, you’re transported into a world where time slows down. The host is a true gem — warm, intuitive, and effortlessly kind — making you feel less like a guest and more like a cherished old friend returning home. The rooms are unexpectedly spacious, bathed in natural light, with soft linens, vintage details, and the calming scent of lavender that lingers in the air. Every corner whispers comfort and quiet elegance. There’s a feeling of serenity here, of thoughtful simplicity that embraces you the moment you close the door behind you. Breakfast is an affair to remember — freshly baked pastries, ripe fruit, eggs made just the way you love them, and fragrant coffee that seems to taste better in the morning sun streaming through the windows. Everything is prepared with love, plated like art, and served with a smile. And then there’s the location — perfection. Nestled in historic Dorćol, you’re just steps away from winding cobblestone streets, bohemian cafés, hidden galleries, and the murmurs of the Danube. At night, the soft glow of the lanterns and the hum of nearby jazz bars create a melody that lingers in your memory. Smokvica Dorćol is a place where stories begin — and where you’ll already be dreaming of your return before you’ve even left.

I hosted a jubilee birthday dinner at this beautiful restaurant in central Belgrade. In preparation for the event, the manager couldn't have been more helpful - he reacted swiflty to all my requests, far surpassing what is expected of professional service. All my special requests were fulfilled with such a degree of friendliness that I hadn't experienced before. The cocktails, food and atmosphere on the night were amazing. Top quality. I even asked for my favourite waitress and the manager arranged the rotas so that she could serve my foreign guests, who were extremely satisfied with everything. I can higly recommend this amazing place.
