This was our first time doing an alpine coaster and I had no idea what to expect. I knew its speeds could reach 30 mph, and it was on a mountain…but that was about it. So, it has a track that looks like a roller coaster, but the car you ride is more like a go kart. I rode with my 3 y/o in front of me, and it was comfortable for us both. We went after sunset, and the track was lit up. They also had seasonal decor - it happened to be fall, so there was some Halloween stuff, but it wasn’t too spooky.
The first part of the ride is it towing you up the mountain. You just sit there and relax. Maybe it’s better in daylight, but it was kinda anticlimactic in the dark. But don’t worry- it gets a lot better. Basically, once you reach the top, you have free rein to careen down the mountain as fast as you care to go. My little one has a need for speed, so we just went down full throttle. It was exhilarating and awesome- there were twists and turns and drops, but it was a pretty smooth ride. There were 7 of us in our group, and at the bottom, we unanimously agreed to go again, but my husband pointed out there was a coupon for another alpine coaster, so we actually drove across town to go to that one, which I’ve also reviewed. But- spoiler alert: this one is the best if you want a long downhill drop- and who doesn’t?!?
Oh, also of note- I got tickets with a Groupon, which is a good deal for adults, but if you have kids, their tickets are cheaper at the front desk.
