This Interactive Fall Foliage Map Will Tell You Exactly When and Where Leaves Will Peak in 2025

"I used SmokyMountains.com's detailed foliage map, released in late August, which relies on a refined data model combining historical and forecast temperature and precipitation, the dominant tree types, historical trends, and user-submitted real-time leaf reports (added in 2022); the team says they’re confident in the model but cautions that weather can always change. The interactive map lets you slide week to week to see where colors are green (not changing), bright (at peak), or brown (past peak), and the site also provides a scientific overview of why leaves change plus a handy list of the best leaf-peeping spots in all 50 states. Their forecast calls for cooler, drier conditions in the Northeast and Appalachians that could bring earlier, more vivid color—northern New England, the Adirondacks, and the Poconos may peak in late September to early October—while higher mountain terrain (the Rockies, the Cascades, the Smoky Mountains, and the Blue Ridge) is likely to peak well over a week earlier than lower elevations, creating layered spreads of color. The map projects Mid-Atlantic and Great Lakes peak in mid-October, the Mid-South and central U.S. in late October, and the Deep South, Southern Plains, and Florida not until early to mid-November; by contrast, the Pacific Northwest and Intermountain West are expected to be warmer and wetter (delaying and dulling color), and the Southeast and Deep South warmer and drier (also delaying and potentially subduing foliage). For specific state windows, they list Tennessee peaking Oct. 20–31, Vermont Sept. 29–Oct. 10, Washington Oct. 6–17, Upstate New York Oct. 6–17, and Colorado Oct. 13–17." - Stacey Leasca Stacey Leasca Stacey Leasca is an award-winning journalist and co-founder of Be a Travel Writer, an online course for the next generation of travel journalists. This Map Will Tell You When Your State Will Hit Peak Fall Foliage

"SmokyMountains.com is here to help with its annual Fall Foliage Map. The map uses an algorithm developed from tons of data — like historical temperatures and forecast precipitation from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration — to create a predictive map of when trees will reach peak viewing status around the country. The algorithm then produces a county-by-county breakdown of when colorful leaves are expected to peak that you can toggle through week-by-week. "Similar to any meteorological forecast, leaf predictions will never be 100% accurate," company founder and statistical expert David Angotti said in a statement shared with Travel + Leisure. "However, after publishing our predictive fall foliage map for nearly a decade, we are quite confident in our data sources, process, and algorithm." - Travel + Leisure Editors

Cancelled reservation not even 5min after booking & company refuse to return service fee. Every rental company I’ve evened worked with booking direct or through a third party has always offered free cancellation period of at least 24hrs. Will not recommend this company at all.

Total sham company. They are not a rental company they are just a pass-through company that steals your money for a "service fee" and then messes up all the information they pass on to the Real Rental company who then cancels your actual reservation because the credit card information is incorrect and cannot be charged. I just booked a week family vacation through this company but then a week later it was cancelled by some company named "Evolve", which turns out to be the company that Smoky Mountains refers you to for support and help with your reservations. My head is spinning from all the confusion and subterfuge of this entity and they say their service fees are non-refundable. So they obviously do this on purpose to get more money out of people. I will be filing a consumer complaint as well because this is theft. Take my advice and book direct with the real rental company (in this case Evolve) - saved me $500.

Cabin: Majestic View - The cleaning fees are half of the booking cost and when we got to the cabin there was rodent feces everywhere (carpets, beds, cabinets, and bathrooms). There were blood stains on the mattresses, dirty/rusty faucets, and no room in the game rooms. We called to complain and they said we would hear back within 24 hours, but it was only a 2 night stay. We took pictures to document everything (I have 30+ images/videos of unsanitary conditions), and then we had to clean the entire place, in order to feel the least bit comfortable. This was hardly the relaxation we were seeking. With thousands of cabins in the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area I see no reason that you shouldn't find an alternative booking option.

Review for: "Sherwood Splash Lodge" We were a family group of 20 adults (no kids). We stayed in this cabin/lodge about a month after construction was completed on it. Overall, it was a good experience and I would recommend it. With some minor modifications this facility could go from 4 stars to 5 stars. I'll start with the POSITIVES: - Huge, clean & spacious. Great floor plan! - Location, location, location. In between Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg & park entrance. Perfect. - Plenty of tables & seating for meals and games. - Wifi worked well. - Parking was plentiful and convenient for loading and unloading. Perfect. - Owner provided pictures & description were 100% accurate and honest. NEGATIVES: - No view (property description was honest and said woods view, but its still a negative) - Units near this cabin are still under construction. Not the best atmosphere. - No gas grills and only one oven. Try cooking for 20 people (or more) with one oven and no gas grills. It is NOT easy. Charcoal grilling for most meals is not practical. We made several runs to the store just for charcoal. The advertised check in time is 4 PM. We checked the rental calendar and noticed nobody was renting the cabin 2 1/2 days before we arrived. When we requested a 2 PM arrival for a few people in our group we were told it would be an additional $200!!! We had paid $7K+ for a 5 night rental and being "nickel and dimed" like this left us with a bad taste. We checked in at 4 PM. Overall, the positives outweighed the negatives and I would recommend this property. With some minor adjustments and some common sense in handling reasonable requests, this could be a 5 star property.

First off...bad things: Drive way was a little unlevel for low lying vehicles. (Rubbed the undercarriage) Not much room to side shoot for the pool table. Cable didn't work (but i didn't check to see if it was even included) Downstairs bed old and bowed in the middle. Now...the good things: Plenty of clean dishes Lots of fluffy towels(..shaped like swans!) Huge back deck Surprised with recently ultra clean hot tub! (Clear water, covered, and could smell the chlorine...I'm guessing they got it ready before we arrived!) Beautiful decor and polished wood fixtures. Lots of space Close to downtown Gatlinburg DEFINITELY STAYING @ "AMONG THE PINES" AGAIN!!

I am a single mom of 3 and usually can't afford to take my kids on vacation. This year I saved and went without and decided to take them to a cabin and spend spring break in Gatlinburg. Kids are excited and happy to be on vacation. Well unfortunately 3 days into our vacation I just received a call explaining that we had to leave because their are new owners that just purchased this cabin and the rental company that they are now using decided to book guest in the cabin I am renting. The new rental company is Smokie Cabin rentals. They have VIP guest that they need to get into the cabin that I rented in early February. Needless to say my kids are Upset and I am crushed because this was supposed to be special for our little family. I will never book thru Smokie mountain cabin rentals because you pretty much said that my kids and I don't matter. That we are not as important as your VIP guest and the normal little guy doesn't matter. You should have honored the booked rentals from the previous owners plain and simple or at least given notice and not in the middle of someone's vacation. It was the right thing to do. And you didn't do the right thing ......You should be ashamed of yourselves as well as the new owners. Evidently the almighty dollar is more important than honesty and honor.
