Smoo Lodge B&B

Absolutely gorgeous! Excellent host, and the room was top class. Everything about this Lodge was superb. No evening meals available, but the breakfast was simply stunning as was the tea and cake on arrival. Faultless!

This hotel is lovely, comfortable and warm. We passed it by road side when looking for accommodation. The host couldn't be more helpful. He ensured the room was nice and warm for us. The beds were very comfortable, the duvet was a little too heavy for myself (not a negative). Breakfast was nice and tasty set us up for the day of adventures. Shower as great as well. Not the cheapest of bnbs but unexpected derail for our anniversary made it worth the money.

What a great hotel! The location is perfect, beautiful view over the sea. Very friendly owner with a warm and personal welcome at a late hour, tea with home made cake. The rooms are really tastefully decorated and the beds with their super duvets sleep great. The breakfast is very varied. Absolutely recommend this hotel and would like to come back again.

This is a lovely old house full of charm and character and beautifully decorated.||We stayed here for 2 nights. Merlin, our host, gave us a very warm welcome serving us coffee and delicious homemade cappuccino cake upon arrival.||We had a bright spotlessly clean room with a very comfortable bed. A coffee maker and tea bags , coffee sachets and biscuits were all provided. The en-suite shower was great and I enjoyed using the Scottish Fine Soap toiletries provided.||Breakfast was excellent, with yogurts, fresh fruit, a cooked breakfast option , porridge and fresh croissants together with fruit juices and jams.||We ate each night at the Smoo Cave hotel just up the road, we didn’t need to book , the food was great and the staff were really polite helpful and efficient.||To everyone at Smoo Lodge a big thank you.

The lodge offers 4 individually designed rooms of very high standards in different sizes. The conditon of the estate is immaculate, the owners are running this place themselves and make sure, it stays this way. For example, you have to take off your shoes when entering. The wooden floors generate some muted noise.|Dining room and living room (with an active fireplace) are cozy and invite to relax. The service is very courteous and friendly, the breakfast individual, questions to "what's doing" are answered patiently. |The room rates are somewhat on the high side, but the money is well spent. Step in, if you want to have something special and your wallet cooperates.

We were welcomed by Merlin, the host, with tea and chocolates. From start to finish we felt very welcome and relaxed. There is a nice lounge, with a fire place and music, to read a book. An extremely comfortable bed, and delicious breakfast. It is not cheap, but worth every penny! We would definitely come back!

Kyunghee and Merlin were superb hosts, so kind and helpful. They communicated well from the time we contacted them about the booking. We were greeted with tea and chocolates and learned about the property and the area. Our room was absolutely beautiful, very clean and welcoming, we had everything we needed. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was a joy with a fabulous shower and a wonderful bath. |We had a great breakfast which set us up very well for a hill walk. |Overall we had a lovely stay in a beautiful and well appointed place, with wonderful hosts. We look forward to returning and highly recommend this hotel.

Our family had the pleasure of staying in two rooms for two nights in early July. We received a warm welcome and were treated so kindly by Merlin during our stay. Breakfast was incredible, rooms were comfortable and clean, location was perfect. Merlin even loaned us coins so I could do laundry across the road due to my luggage being lost by the airline and we didn’t have the currency needed. The kindness was so appreciated. These were the best accommodations we experienced on the NC 500.
