Smoo Lodge B&B

Smoo Lodge is an outstanding B&B that exceeded our already high expectations. Merlin and his wife provide an excellent service from top to bottom. The place is incredibly clean, noticeably so. The breakfast is complete and delicious. All of which is smoothed along by Merlin who is a helpful and polite host. I am confident this is one the best places to stay on the NC500.

Excellent place to stay. It didn't show the availability online so make sure to call or swing by. I drove past and stopped to see if they were serving food, and ended up getting a room, very glad I did. The B&B is immaculate and furnished with exceptional taste. Great owner who made me feel very welcome. It's definitely the nicest property in the Northern Highlands so if you are discerning I would highly recommend it.

The best place we stayed on our NC500 trip. Our hosts Kyunghee & Merlin were very accommodating and couldn’t be more helpful. The lodge was immaculately presented and absolutely spotless. Absolutely gorgeous! Excellent host, and the room was top class. Everything about this Lodge was superb. No evening meals available, but the breakfast was simply stunning as was the tea and cake on arrival. Faultless!

This hotel is lovely, comfortable and warm. We passed it by road side when looking for accommodation. The host couldn't be more helpful. He ensured the room was nice and warm for us. The beds were very comfortable, the duvet was a little too heavy for myself (not a negative). Breakfast was nice and tasty set us up for the day of adventures. Shower as great as well. Not the cheapest of bnbs but unexpected derail for our anniversary made it worth the money.

What a great hotel! The location is perfect, beautiful view over the sea. Very friendly owner with a warm and personal welcome at a late hour, tea with home made cake. The rooms are really tastefully decorated and the beds with their super duvets sleep great. The breakfast is very varied. Absolutely recommend this hotel and would like to come back again.

This is a lovely old house full of charm and character and beautifully decorated.||We stayed here for 2 nights. Merlin, our host, gave us a very warm welcome serving us coffee and delicious homemade cappuccino cake upon arrival.||We had a bright spotlessly clean room with a very comfortable bed. A coffee maker and tea bags , coffee sachets and biscuits were all provided. The en-suite shower was great and I enjoyed using the Scottish Fine Soap toiletries provided.||Breakfast was excellent, with yogurts, fresh fruit, a cooked breakfast option , porridge and fresh croissants together with fruit juices and jams.||We ate each night at the Smoo Cave hotel just up the road, we didn’t need to book , the food was great and the staff were really polite helpful and efficient.||To everyone at Smoo Lodge a big thank you.
