Delicious Gluten free options, dog friendly, great spot, super view, best monkfish and prawn ceasar salad I've ever eaten. The dressing was gorgeous too. Had sea food special for main, hake, John dory, prawn and scallops with a sauce I would get up in the middle of the night for. This was one of the best dishes I have ever tasted. The duck special was fab too and the sauce was to die for, they asked for more sauce which wasn't a problem. Bar man was lovely and friendly good chat with the owner which was nice, he took the time to chat to us. Highly recommend this spot for food and view. Wish we lived nearer because I think it would be a regular haunt of ours.

We were visiting Rossnowlagh and had seen Smugglers creek online however there were so many recent bad reviews we were going to give it a miss, however We thought we’d keep an open mind and give it a try! Well we were pleasantly surprised the view speaks for itself staff were friendly and welcoming service was quick and food was good, portions were a bit small but we just wanted a light lunch, prices for what we had were a little pricy but you are paying for the view, we arrived at 12.40 before the lunch rush we noticed as we were leaving the place was really filling up! Would we go back? Yes when up that direction however I would go at the less peak times to allow a smooth experience we also walked down to the beach for a paddle |All in all a great experience

Ordered seafood chowder with gluten free bread. Paid 10.95 for this small portion which arrived with one half of a bun. I requested the other half but the waitress returned and said she would have to charge more for the other half of the bun. Couldn't believe it...had never experienced anything like this before. Rang and spoke to Manageress who was quite rude and dismissive

Location beautiful....however kettle and cups in room but no tea or coffee! Mouldy toast for breakfast. Will not stay here again. We ate in restaurant the night we arrived. Food was ok but nothing special. Our room was above bar. Very noisy until well into the early hours so not much sleep.

Stay clear. Not family friendly. Bad food Very poor customer service. Basically non existent. Arrived and told to wait to be seated and then 10mins later had to ask could we site down. Asked a male member of staff where the baby changing area was and he said he didn’t know. It was in the toilet and it was wet and dirty. Food was no good. Childs portions for 18€ Never asked if we needed anything and charges 75€ for overpriced food. All frozen food. Nothing fresh.

We had a great stay! All of the staff were wonderful, especially Emily, who was delightful - felt like we were friends from the moment I booked the room over the phone till check out! Our room had gorgeous views of Rossnowlagh beach. The food was delicious. Would highly recommend the supreme of chicken and the penne pasta. We will be back again for some oysters :)

We got charged €5 for 2 pints of tap water with a dash of mi wadi. Absolutely scandalous. Even the waitress seemed embarrassed about it. Not sure who they’re trying to scam with that, majority of restaurants in Ireland won’t charge, and if they did, it might be 20 cent. Nowhere, not even in Dublin would a restaurant charge that. Going on previous reviews it seems that this is a theme of this restaurant. Won’t be back.

Yelp
Went here today for a bit of lunch as it was recommended by a few people. We arrived about 12.45pm which was not long after the restaurant opened. By about 1.15pm the place was packed. It's easy to see why....The view over Rossnowlagh beach is fantastic, we even managed to spot a few dolphins. Back to the food! I decided to go for the fresh local mussels and I was not disappointed, I was surprised by the portion size as it was huge and the white wine sauce was lovely. Also tried the bruschetta but this wasn't great, bit too greasy and the bread was a tad soggy. For my main I went for an open prawn sandwich on wheaten bread and a bit of salad on the side. Pleasantly stuffed! The staff were friendly and helpful.

Yelp
Spectacular setting and views across Rosnowlagh. Food is decent but not amazing although there is a great selection of seafood and fish which is great. Nice local craft beers too and plenty of outdoor covered seating is a nice touch.

Yelp
This is the place where you forget yourself and time means nothing. Got to be one of the best restaurants in Ireland, don't let outside appearances deceive you, it is weather beaten and careworn, small and a little rickety to get into around the winding path... But you gotta go, every morsel of food here is as fresh as it could possibly be, seafood chowder to die for, and no matter what your menu selection would be it will be fabulous. The view is outstanding, you are on the hill looking right out at the ocean, all you can see is water, peaceful and unhurried this place is a haven. You have not experienced fish until you eat here. It is my #1 place to eat

Yelp
We had been driving for a long time, got hungry and asked our GPS to find a restaurant. It brought us to this amazing place! First of all, the views are breathtaking! When we got there at 12:15, there was only one other couple in the place. We were told that the kitchen didn't open until 12:30 and were immediately offered drinks. I ordered the seafood chowder, which was filled with REAL and generous pieces of shrimp, shellfish, potatoes, etc. My husband ordered a burger, which appeared gigantic! Both were brought out fairly quickly considering the kitchen had just opened. During our meal, the waitresses didn't just stand around. They were obviously planning for a very busy night with few reservations available. When the server came back and saw that I was enjoying my chowder but not the dry bread that came with it, she offered to bring me regular bread. Four slices appeared impressively laid on a board! I could only eat 2 of them. Later, we asked if we could pay in pounds because we still had some--no problem!

Yelp
It's hard not to enjoy the Smugglers I'm not even a seafood fan which is their speciality but all the food is tasty, as a pub it's spot on and the scenery is astounding

Yelp
In the beautiful setting of Rossnowlagh, looking out over the bay you will be delighted with the exquisite tastes provided in this restaurant. Well worth a visit.

Yelp
What a wonderful suggestion from a local in Donegal-so glad we went! The food was delicious! I had the seafood chowder and the mussels for an entree. Absolutely Perfect! Wish I could have gone back to eat there again before we left. The view cant be beat either. They get busy so call ahead.
