Fantastic view over the beach.|Our friends had been for Sunday lunch and it was so full they had to eat outside. Booking for a Sunday would be essential.|With this in mind we arrived at 12.30 on a Saturday, and got a table straight away. It did fill up while we were there, mainly with families and children.|The service was good.|We enjoyed the food. Between us we had stir fry, chicken supreme and chicken goujons. Everyone was happy with their meals.

Amazing location but service lets the place down. Steak was great, same for chowder. Mussels werent cleaned and didn't get a bowl for shells. Piled them on a spare plate.

We had a great stay! All of the staff were wonderful, especially Emily, who was delightful - felt like we were friends from the moment I booked the room over the phone till check out! Our room had gorgeous views of Rossnowlagh beach. The food was delicious. Would highly recommend the supreme of chicken and the penne pasta. We will be back again for some oysters :)

Pitched up here after a day's traveling so pretty hungry. I was advised that fish was pretty good in these parts so opted for the standard fish and chips and some local ale. Looked like a child's portion of heavily battered fish with a few fries in a container with a miniscule bit of salad. Ale was good. In their defence, they squeezed me in as it was very busy as a Bank Holiday weekend. Wouldn't go back.

We ate in Smugglers and it was awful there were flies everywhere I do appreciate it’s the time of year and temperature but they were just too many everywhere. We came to trip down memory lane as food was always great, fresh and lots of fish, the entire menu was frozen / deep fired really really poor will never venture back.

Positives- The setting is lovely so wouldn't rule it out for a drink but the food and service were awful.||Firstly we asked the waitress if there were any oysters, as they are not always available. We were told that they're weren't. I wasn't convinced so when the waiter came to take our order we asked and there were lots of oysters. They arrived and were not cleaned well, lots of bits of broken shell. 45 Mins later our main courses arrived. ( Meanwhile lots of tables that arrived after us had ate) One was chicken supreme which was clearly sitting under a heat lamp for 45 mins with a side plate of cold mixed vegetables, a scampi and chips which was very average and a chicken pasta.|We called the waiter and let him know about the vegetables. He proceeded to check the temperature of the cold side vegetables by sticking his finger in them. The pasta was so over cooked the tubes were flat and a tasteless sauce and over cooked chicken accompanied it. Very dissapointed, such a shame as it has such a beautiful setting.

Food was fine however female staff member who appeared to be manager made overall experience appalling. She appeared to be doing the job of 5 people, leaving herself under immense pressure and in turn taking it out on the customers.

Google
Stunning views, staff very friendly, professional always attentive and helpful. Food of the highest standard and very good value. The Monkfish and Prawn caesar salad was excellent. The chowder was probably the best we've tried yet We've been there several times and haven't been disappointed at any time.

Yelp
Went here today for a bit of lunch as it was recommended by a few people. We arrived about 12.45pm which was not long after the restaurant opened. By about 1.15pm the place was packed. It's easy to see why....The view over Rossnowlagh beach is fantastic, we even managed to spot a few dolphins. Back to the food! I decided to go for the fresh local mussels and I was not disappointed, I was surprised by the portion size as it was huge and the white wine sauce was lovely. Also tried the bruschetta but this wasn't great, bit too greasy and the bread was a tad soggy. For my main I went for an open prawn sandwich on wheaten bread and a bit of salad on the side. Pleasantly stuffed! The staff were friendly and helpful.

Yelp
Spectacular setting and views across Rosnowlagh. Food is decent but not amazing although there is a great selection of seafood and fish which is great. Nice local craft beers too and plenty of outdoor covered seating is a nice touch.

Yelp
This is the place where you forget yourself and time means nothing. Got to be one of the best restaurants in Ireland, don't let outside appearances deceive you, it is weather beaten and careworn, small and a little rickety to get into around the winding path... But you gotta go, every morsel of food here is as fresh as it could possibly be, seafood chowder to die for, and no matter what your menu selection would be it will be fabulous. The view is outstanding, you are on the hill looking right out at the ocean, all you can see is water, peaceful and unhurried this place is a haven. You have not experienced fish until you eat here. It is my #1 place to eat

Yelp
We had been driving for a long time, got hungry and asked our GPS to find a restaurant. It brought us to this amazing place! First of all, the views are breathtaking! When we got there at 12:15, there was only one other couple in the place. We were told that the kitchen didn't open until 12:30 and were immediately offered drinks. I ordered the seafood chowder, which was filled with REAL and generous pieces of shrimp, shellfish, potatoes, etc. My husband ordered a burger, which appeared gigantic! Both were brought out fairly quickly considering the kitchen had just opened. During our meal, the waitresses didn't just stand around. They were obviously planning for a very busy night with few reservations available. When the server came back and saw that I was enjoying my chowder but not the dry bread that came with it, she offered to bring me regular bread. Four slices appeared impressively laid on a board! I could only eat 2 of them. Later, we asked if we could pay in pounds because we still had some--no problem!

Yelp
It's hard not to enjoy the Smugglers I'm not even a seafood fan which is their speciality but all the food is tasty, as a pub it's spot on and the scenery is astounding

Yelp
In the beautiful setting of Rossnowlagh, looking out over the bay you will be delighted with the exquisite tastes provided in this restaurant. Well worth a visit.

Yelp
What a wonderful suggestion from a local in Donegal-so glad we went! The food was delicious! I had the seafood chowder and the mussels for an entree. Absolutely Perfect! Wish I could have gone back to eat there again before we left. The view cant be beat either. They get busy so call ahead.
