Google
Excellent resort year round. The shops are always open along with the restaurants. There is alot of outdoor activities within the resort. All staff members I've had contact with were friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about the area. If you are wanting to visit the area I would recommend this resort. You should definitely check it out before deciding, plus the location is so beautiful in every season.

Google
Love that this resort has year round activities and lots of fun local places to explore. The food on site is around the same cost as off site and tastes good so I’d recommend trying it. The Fun Zone has plenty of activities for kids and some outdoor activities for adults to enjoy as well. Pools are pretty cool. Would definitely recommend.

Google
The rooms tend to be somewhat dated in the long-standing buildings. Facilities are generally well-kept and staff is friendly and helpful. This is great for family-friendly vacationing. The resort itself has a good variety of activities with various pools (some with slides), free mini golf, arcade, and indoor adventure area. The surrounding has tons to offer: bike rentals, full frisbee golf course, kayak/canoe rentals, and hiking galore. It's a family favorite for our "outside-y" bunch (that's a notch down from the full-on "outdoorsy" types).

Google
Smugglers Notch is a great place to go for a vacation. Visiting here feels like you’re back in the 90’s, but in a good way. From all of my experiences, it is pet and kid friendly and overall a great place to take a family vacation. My family has been coming up here for almost 40 years and we have never had a problem. The skiing is phenomenal, with a very wide variety of terrain and difficultly. One of the mountains is right next to the village. The only con about this resort is the lift speed. The lifts are slow, taking almost 15 minutes to get to the top of each mountain, though, the lifts rarely ever stops. The hiking is also very nice, with a wide variety of difficulty. Overall, if you have a family and want to go skiing, this is totally the place to hit.

Google
Perfect ski vacation. Good snow, lots of acreage. Something for all levels. Staff is very nice and friendly. Accommodations are cozy - warm fire after a day out skiing, yes please. Quiet atmosphere, safe to walk around at night and no chaos. The indoor play area has a ton of activities for teens/kids/ tots.

Google
Great place to bring your kids! Our unit only had 1 AC which was in the living room, so at night the bedrooms were a little hot but manageable. Overall a good experience and would come back again!

Google
The facilities were excellent. I loved painting on our deck with so many flowers and other views as inspiration. Many great restaurants in Jeffersonville and on Smuggs property. Loved visiting the art galleries and hiking the trails around the resort.

Google
Numerous activities to keep all happy. Just sitting on the deck and enjoying a brew and view is a great activity for me. The grandkids were active with camp and numerous pools to keep them happy. We have been coming for over 30 years and have always had a great experience.

Yelp
Great resort with phenomenal activities. Plenty of water options with pools and water slides. Good on premise food options . Enjoy traveling in resort on golf carts!

Yelp
Great place to stay In northern Vermont. There is a ton of stuff to do with kids especially in the summer. Rain? They have an indoor play place. Sun? They have like 8 outdoor pools. The dining can be a little limited but the on-site and nearby restaurants are pretty good!

Yelp
Stayed 9/20-9/27/23, beginnings of the fall color change. Stayed in a Tamaracks 3 bedroom deluxe. Very spacious and comfortable for the whole family. We plan to make reservations here every 2 years for family get together. On-site dining at the Hearth and Candle was very nice and convenient. Dined here twice. On site store has everything we drove into Jeffersonville for. Might be just a tad more expensive but worth it for convenience. Check in as Wyndham VIP owners was a breeze. We skipped the sales talk as we already been down that route several times....(haha). Property is beautiful and the grounds and our unit were well maintained and clean. No ice maker but there were two trays to make ice and an ice bucket to put the ice in. No kitchen sink strainer and no disposal but they can deal with that with a plumber. Large jacuzzi tub in the master bathroom. Nice stand up shower with a seat for the wife to shave her legs. Seating was standard and fairly comfortable. Beds were very comfortable and restful. Deck/porch was spacious and had a beautiful view of the mountains. On-site plex had everything teenagers could want and the upstairs was designed for 2 year old to about 6 year olds. Out 20 month grand daughter enjoyed it immensely. 2 nice 18 hole disk golf courses and lots of walking trails onsite. BBQ grills (charcoal) located behind the unit, along with a picnic table. We saw a shuttle bus but didn't use it. We looked at the heated pool area and it was nice and in use. One small hot tub next to it. Nice kids pools also. Will be back in 2 years.

Yelp
Smugglers' Notch ski resort is truly a gem nestled in the snowy mountains! It's not just a ski destination; it's a haven for families with teens. The resort offers a plethora of activities that kept our teenagers engaged and excited throughout our stay. From thrilling skiing adventures to fun-filled events, Smugglers' Notch knows how to cater to the younger crowd. For the adults, the resort doesn't fall short either. There are plenty of adult activities to enjoy, whether it's shopping in the village, savoring delicious meals at the on-site restaurants, or simply taking in the breathtaking views. The accommodations at the Mountain Laurels were top-notch, providing a cozy retreat after a day of outdoor adventures along with a heated outdoor pool surrounded by snowy views to help relax our minds. The services at Smugglers' Notch are impeccable. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience for guests. Whether it's assistance with equipment or recommendations for the best slopes, their friendly and knowledgeable team was always ready to help. And of course, let's not forget the skiing! The slopes were well-maintained, offering a fantastic skiing experience for all levels in our group. Whether a seasoned skier or a beginner, there was something for everyone. All in all, Smugglers' Notch is more than just a ski resort; it's a destination that caters to the diverse needs of all guests. We had a fantastic time, and I highly recommend this resort for an unforgettable winter getaway!

Yelp
So we went to smugglers notch for the 4th and that was great. The facilities have major issues. The restaurants are either closed or in some cases selling outdated food products or have no stock. The half of the pools are closed or not opened. The weather is great but the amenities are non existent. The condo we are staying in has a major any issue. They are everywhere. Oh and there appears to be a major bear issue, as areas are closed off and signs everywhere to be careful. Not exactly comforting with young kids around. I would not recommend going, the first time we went it was great this time not so much.

Yelp
Smugglers Notch is the smaller independent mountain next to Stowe. First do not let your GPS take you via Route 108. It's closed during the winter and you have to go around Stowe. This is truly a family resort. So much for kids & teens to do. The two main peaks are Madonna & Sterling. Both have some really nice runs for intermediate skiers. Plenty of challenging runs for experts. Madonna tends to be icier than Sterling. It was fun for a few days of skiing. They do have shuttles that run from village base to Madonna base. Most parking is at Madonna base. Not much food wise tends to be open on Sundays.

Yelp
3.5 stars Our trip Smugs started off on the wrong foot. Waze literally tried to send us over the mountain to the resort. After sorting that, we were anxious to get there because the lifts close at 4. The layout for getting sorted and getting on the slopes kind of sucks. Initially we turned and went left instead of right. After sorting that, we had to make 4 stops just to buy our lift tickets, each stop directing us to the next one. Once we did that, I rented skis only to find out the boot storage area involved another walk. By the time I popped my skis on, I was sweating. The resort seems to be laid out more for those staying there IMO. There are a good number of greens on the Morse side, but a few were closed when we stopped by. The lift we took leaves an option for hopping off midway and taking a shorter run. Going all of the way up is a decent length green run. The place bills itself as America's Family Resort and it seems to cater to families. Towards the end of the ski day they announced a whole series of activities for kids and others. As an mediocre skier, I liked the options available to be, but if I'm being honest it's not my favorite.

Yelp
I've been coming to Smuggs with my family for the past three years and have little if any complaints. Sure, the TVs and amenities are a little dated and the mountain doesn't offer as many trails as Stowe. But for everything you get - spacious rooms with full kitchens and multiple bedrooms / bathrooms, speedy shuttle service to anywhere you want to go within the resort, daily and nightly activities, a pool, Fun Zone and plenty of dining options, you really can't beat it. The on-site restaurant Hearth and Candle is some of the best food I've had anywhere (this coming from a snobby New Yorker), and everyone working here are extremely friendly and always in a good mood. If you're looking to take a family ski trip this is definitely the place!

Yelp
SMUGGS! My home away from home. We've been going here since before I could walk (and definitely before I could ski) for a beginner or a expert nothing beats Vermont snow and nothings beats Smuggs. There are three mountains and you take a shuttle to two of them if you're staying off property. Staying on property in some areas you can ski right from your room. Which is so freaking cool! The prices are high, but it's a resort, and it's way worth it to spend the money in Vermont with fresh powder, amazing hot chocolate and phenomenal instructors. This place will always be my home away from home and the reason I continue to ski to this day! Look into a time share and staying on the property, it's really worth it if you're into winter sports

Yelp
This place isn't very good, but great to f*** around with. With everything from "Water Bagging" off of the Oaks complex to prank phone calls to "1-800-BEATLES," to cursing and dancing on tables at karaoke, to sneaking into the petting zoo, to smoking weed and throwing group underage drinking parties. It's one of those resorts where it sucked when you were 5 but an amusement park by the time you were 19. And the staff retaliated as well. One time I recall they shut down and locked the library in daytime at the Norwegian-themed condo complex and I really had to take a dump. Guess what? I ended up doing it right outside and wiped my ass with a bunch of leaves and left. I think the night wrapped up with myself and buddies prank calling "The Funmiester" again. Lot's of good memories over the years. I still might go again, but it's like a 5+ hour flight from Austin, Texas and a pretty exhausting one via flying through Atlanta (last time I went a few years ago) plus the drive to get there once out of the BTV airport. One thing people also forget about flying into BTV is how short the runways are. Last time I flew in there from AUS via ATL was on a Delta 737-700 and we turned into it and almost seemed like we were going to crash into the ground -- yet that's just how it's more or less set up as an airport (P.O.S. runway but R.I.P. those planes were amazing.) Alas, they closed down the awesome Mexican restaurant across the street. Wyndham hasn't done shit to help the reputation of this place out. I wish it were taken over by Hilton instead *NOW THAT* would be spectacular...

Yelp
I must say this is a rare gem! I run a large vacation company and very rarely do you come across a property like this that has not been taken over by a major corporation! The family style resorts are a dying breed, you can feel it when you check-in. 3 mountains with just under 100 runs! We will definitely be a repeat offender to Smuggs! Thumbs up to ALL the staff you made our family feel welcome!!

Yelp
Man, that person who gave this place 1 star was having a rough day. Sure the rates here are high, but it's a nice resort. I'll admit though, i've been fortuneate to come each time (this is my third) within laws who have a time share. First time we stayed in Oaks and this one and lst time we've been in balsams. The grounds are great and the shuttle service from any of the condos to the village and Morse mountain is timely and everyone is so nice. Decent food too, which is great because man back in 2021 when Rigabellos was here, it was rough. Conditions on all 3 mountains are always great and while the lifts could be a smidge faster, the lines are never bad, even on busy wekends, even when they're long. They move efficiently. Love Smuggs.

Yelp
My review is based on being a Club Wyndham presidential owner - Never having been here, I had no idea which area to pick for our stay, and I would suggest Wyndham update the photos to help owners with this choice. Our three bedroom unit was in Tamarack and well used. Tons of stains on the carpet. Ripped wallpapered walls. No ice maker. Still, the inside was clean and large and after the initial disappointment in appearance, fine for our needs. The gas fireplace was awesome. The outdoor porch was filthy but pleasant for morning coffee and evening cocktails. The resort itself, and we were there in September before the leaves turned and tourists arrived, is dated. The grounds are well maintained and the views terrific, but the property restaurants need an overhaul. I used the SMUGGS app and found it lacking. We never found the signage for hike trails. The activities are few and pricey, and those free to owners lack appeal and excitement. We did not have youngsters with us, so can't speak to the kids zone. The surrounding area, however, is terrific. Tons of things to do and great restaurants. We never lacked for stuff to do or for places to visit--Stowe, Waterbury, Jeffersonville, Burlington, and Shelburne. In that respect, Smugglers Notch is a place to lay your head and use as a headquarters.

Ben E.

Yelp
Have not been here in 5 years, but I love it here. We would always go up with family/friends around the 4th of July and it's truly worth the experience. It's easy to navigate the place and the food is pretty solid.

Beth L.

Yelp
I am reviewing the base lodge facility at Smuggler's Notch, Madona Mountain. I frequent Smugglers Notch and enjoy the skiing. The personal have always been pleasant. Where I am dissatisfied is in the base lodge. We arrive early in the morning to hit the slopes, and consistently find the lodge dirty. Tables are not cleaned off and wiped down from the previous day, the floors are not mopped to start the day. When I visit the ladies' room not all the faucets work, soap is not in all of the dispensers, metal tissue boxes are not refilled, hanging open on the wall. If I was visiting for a vacation, I would be extremely disappointed. We do enjoy stopping into The Black Bear Tavern, which is neat and clean, with pleasant service. We enjoy skiing at Smuggs, just wish there was more pride in the lodge.

Yelp
My family comes here at least once every year and it is one of my favorite places in the world. In the winter the skiing is very good even when it's icy. In the summer the views are spectacular and there are so many activities you can do. If you are visiting Vermont, stay at Smuggs it is well worth your time. Here are some photos I have taken throughout the years at Smuggs and in the surrounding areas:

Heidi N.

Yelp
We had a great stay for thanksgiving, my only complaint is that most of the surrounding establishments were closed during our stay. Super clean and updated establishments! Pool was fun the cold!

Andrew E.

Yelp
This is our second summer in a row coming here and will be our last. The options for food here are not good and the hours worse than the food. Things close randomly, posted hours are not adhered to. Poolside cabana closed without any explanation. Staff clearly feels bad about it but that doesn't make me want to come back.

Yelp
Great location for skiing, decent resort but the sleeping amenities were tough. We signed the kiddos up for group and private lessons. Both were great. The kids got on the slopes a handful of times and was really confident by day one. We got the package deal for a 2 bedroom suite, which included a discount on lessons. So the adults got to sign up for novice to intermediate classes. The fun zone was great for the kids and I do like how the resort pass gets you in and out of places. Due to Covid, some of the places were closed and offered limited capacity. I am grateful they kept their guard up against Covid. So you have to plan ahead (weeks in advance for meals). The cuisine options around the area is very limited. Not sure if it's due to Covid or Winter road closures. The rooms are a bit dated but clean. Wished the fire place could be independently turned on/off instead of relying on the central thermostat. We had some squeaky beds and a tilted bed (missing legs). I recommend they update the room descriptions, fix a few things and organize the amenities list. Overall, I would go again but would do things differently.

Yelp
Staying at smugglers notch resort during off season can be a bit of a struggle trying to find stuff to do for kids. Thanks to fun zone, my kids had a blast! The best part, they were the only ones to use the entire area!! They have 3 main parts, Ozone, arcade games and Gozone. Ozone has giant inflatable slides, obstacle course, inflatable basketball, mini golf, table tennis, board games and few other interesting games. All day pass is $12. We bought all day pass for our kids and adults can hang out there without buying a pass. We didn't try Gozone but it has rock climbing, non inflatable obstacle course, more for older kids and adults. Cost was $25 for all day pass. They have a small cafe onsite too. The facility is very clean and staff is friendly.

Yelp
3 1/2 stars. Part of the Smuggler's Notch Resort, but you don't have to be staying at the resort to use the Fun Zone. The place can be a little hard to find as it is not at the main part of Smuggler's Notch. You have to pass the main parking area and it is in a small building on your right. There is mini-golf outside. Inside there is a Ninja Warrior course, rock wall, arcade games, and laser tag. You pay a small charge for a card and then load your card with tokens. My kids did the Ninja Warrior course which was okay. We all played laser tag which was a lot of fun. The place has a very small cafe. It's actually pretty small compared to some of the mega arcades we are used to but very nice for a hotel. I don't recall the exact prices but they were reasonable. I think we spent about an hour there. Nice diversion for a rainy day in Vermont.

Jared N.

Yelp
Lower your expectations. Ancient lifts, long lines, short runs, and they just jacked the rates for our group vacation for this year. For the money I can't fathom what they're spending it on. Go elsewhere.

Lauren M.

Yelp
We had a wonderful long weekend! Thursday night arrival. Nice people at the check in. Enjoyed the evening fireworks and the music of Jammin Sam and Good time Charlie. Friday night was fun with Jammin Sam running Jeopardy game for the crowd. We ate ate at the Morse mountain grill two days in a row and had a lovely server named Lyndsay. She even recognized us from the day before and looked genuinely excited to see us. That was so nice. Ann was our server when we warmed up at the Black Bear Tavern. The bloody Mary's were excellent. The snow was fresh, but we're used to groomed trails. We also enjoyed the tubing at the North Hill Community center, but would recommend the tubing at Sir Henry's if you don't want to walk back up the hill. The shuttle will take you anywhere you want to go, never a wait more than 10 minutes. Overall the people make this resort special. We love this place.

Yelp
Stayed July 15-19. Room had broken light hanging by a wire over the dining room table upon walking in. The light was removed and never replaced nor were we offered another room. The fun zone was packed as it rained much of our stay. One particular staff member was extremely rude. Shaking his head as if he were angry at everyone. The first floor is an arcade that you load a card to play. This is not included in the price. Sadly the prize room was empty. I mean empty. So these kids had all these tickets earned and were left with some candy to spend it all on. Not acceptable. It was empty the whole 5 days we were there. The food at the resort is awful. Which is unfortunate because there's not many dining choices in this neck of the woods. We ate off property for most of our meals. Slides are much more beat up than the photos you see on the advertising. Room was very dated. Like 90's. For $500 a night I expected more. I filled out the survey that they emailed me and I've heard nothing. So I won't be back. Nor would I recommend this resort.

Russ K.

Yelp
Two phone calls, two emails and a chat session and they still have not correctly updated my email information correctly and sent me a receipt for an online lift ticket purchase. The person who answered my last call transfer me to a voice mail about rental properties after she asked me to hold for a minute.

Yelp
This place leaves much to be desired. We were excited to try it out on our recent trip to Smuggs. We expected more from the resort pictures and the description. Small 6 hole mini golf, bounce house slide, table games upstairs. Small arcade downstairs. Maybe if it was closer to the Village Center it would be more appealing? But the special trip over there left us wanting more.

Yelp
This was our first experience at Smugglers' Notch Fun Zone. I recently reviewed Smugglers' Notch. The Smugglers Notch Fun Zone is part of resort. The buidling has two floors. It was explained that the activies on the first floor needed to be paid for and that the activities on the second floor included in a card we paid $31. The first floor had mountain climbing and we could not see any of the other activities but the rock climbing looked fun. The $31 day pass gave us access to the 2nd floor. The 2nd floor was heavily numbered with small children in a bouncy house among other kid friendly activities. It was hard to determine what adult activities were available. After asking the associate we were told adults could play table ping pong, miniture golf, as well as board games. We were disappointed and felt that we paid $31 for nothing. I think the Fun Zone is great for kids and maybe teenagers but not so much for adults.

Dan T.

Yelp
Extremely fun place for the whole family, offers a wide variety of different fun filled activity's such as trust fall, arcade, and even a ninja warrior course! If you come here guaranteed you will come out with a smile on your face.
