Snack Shack Turkish Kebabs

Decent Turkish restaurant. Food was good, though nothing incredible. Price was okay, if maybe a tad high (18 NZD for a kebab roll). Service was quick and the interior seating is limited (but there's a ton of potential seating around the area). Not sure that I would come back.

Not only are the kebabs delicious and packed with flavour, but they even added salad for me which made it even better. Such generous, kind service and truly the best kebabs around. If I could give more than 10 stars, I would. Highly recommend

Food was prepared pretty quick. Taste was good - nothing outrageous. Limited seating inside. Friendly customer service. Nice under tree seats available outside.

The chicken kebab is nice! Shop owner is quite passionate! The portion are large!! We order the kebab with only 19.5 nzd and yogurt garlic tastes good~

They are closed on Mondays (although Google Maps indicated that they were open). Got one lamb and one chicken kebab wrap. The lamb was ok but they were stingy with the meat. The choice of sauces play an important role in the taste of the kebab too. The chicken kebab was pretty disappointing. The meat was dry (full breast meat) and there wasn’t a lot of the meat to begin with. $17 for a regular kebab wrap of this portion is kinda pricey. It’s a pity there’s only one official halal eatery in Wanaka. You’d probably be better off preparing your own meals during your stay in Wanaka if you’re visiting. Just get some pasta, frozen prawns, and bring your own paste/spices or look for halal ones from New World/the Warehouse or improvise your meals with instant noodles, bread/eggs etc. If you’re not into cooking own meals then get the meat on chips. $20 can serve 2 pax. It’s the saving grace for this review. Have it while it’s piping hot (dine-in) for best experience.

The kebab was average. The vegetables were generally fresh, but the meat was a bit off… There are plenty of more interesting places nearby to get something good, so I won’t be going back 👎

Amazing food and a fantastic location. Car parking is available, with a perfect view and decent prices. The atmosphere is lovely, and the service is excellent. You should definitely try the kebab roll with mixed salad, it’s amazing!

tried their Mixed Meat on Chips - Regular size, it was superb! Great taste with huge portion, enough for 2. It's also Halal which makes it Muslim-friendly

Nice place to stop for a quick bite. Your choice of kebab meats (lamb, chicken, etc.) served in variety of ways: in a roll/wrap, with a salad, with rice, with fries, with falafel, etc. We tried the regular size chicken roll with the yogurt garlic and mild chili sauces. Cut in two, it was the perfect size for sharing. Delicious!!! The meat was flavorful and the slaw/salad (cabbage?) gave it a nice fresh crunch. Our girls tried the hot dog combo, but wound up only eating the fries. Don't blame them though, the "hot dog" is actually a corn dog (which they told us ahead of time) and the meat was wasn't an American style hot dog (not quite sure how to describe it - still processed meats, but different meat products). Oh well, stick to the kebabs here. They also sell ice cream for those with a sweet tooth. Inside seating available (counter and a few small tables).
