This was the classic bait and switch. I made the reservation based on the advertised vegan menu: NUT ROAST (lentils, brown rice, sweet potatoes, mushrooms, nuts), potato salad, sesame broccolini & gravy (v). Once we were seated in the basement—think mirrored tiles and newsprint wallpaper with no street view—we were told that instead the main course would be only ratatouille and that the price would still be $80 US per plate. The ratatouille was unseasoned and was more or less a stew of tomatoes, eggplant, and zucchini with a crown of rice on top. None of us had more than 4 or 5 bites. We had a rotating cast of servers whose only concern was to take plates away and bring the next plate out. We were never asked if we needed anything or how our meal was. This will go down as one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. If it hadn't been Christmas Eve, we would have gone somewhere else. Instead, all three of us feel that our Christmas Eve and $240 were stolen from us. Incidentally, our Christmas Day dinner at Kopar could not have been more amazing.
