Sncewips Heritage Museum and Gift Store

It's a beautiful place with very welcoming people. If you're interested in history or want to learn more about indigenous culture, there's plenty to see and learn here.

We had wonderful visit to this cultural centre. We joined a tour last minute and it was so incredible and inspiring. Beautiful artwork and heritage. Thank you so much for this wonderful experience. Interesting museum particularily the medicine showcase, but not very interactive. Good to learn a bit about the local history before settlement of Europeans, Asians and other foreigners, but would have liked to learn more about the local religions, customs etc.

Wow what a treasure trove of knowledge there is here, especially if you're lucky enough to learn from Coralee! We initially went to learn a little about Westbank First Nation and ended up staying half the day, reading the signs, watching the videos and learning so much from Coralee herself on syilx history/culture and the Westbank First Nation's long journey to self-governance. Must visit!

It is totally free to come, however, you shall donate some for the museum. Not very big place, around 10-15 minutes you could have a quick view of the history here, also you are able to stay and watch videos for more information. The front desk provided travel maps and more details. By the way, the guide is very helpful and super nice. She gave me some useful advice, also answered me couple questions about the museum and Kolowna. Enjoy this lovely museum!

Our college took our students to the Sncewips Heritage Museum. This allowed students to learn from Indigenous Peoples firsthand. Coralee was fantastic, very interactive and funny. We appreciated her knowledge and enthusiasm. This was an great experience for our students and myself. Thank you so much Coralee for teaching us all so much! You are such a wonderful person and I look forward to coming back with our next group of students. Thanks again to all the amazing staff for making our tour memorable.

I had the pleasure of attending a group tour to the Sncewips Heritage Museum, and I would highly recommend it! Coralee was an inspiring and wonderful storyteller; we learned about the history of the Syilx peoples, which was very eye-opening. I feel like everyone should visit this museum at least once in their life to better understand the atrocities of colonialism. Big thanks to the museum for accommodating our group of 25 - everyone thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon.
