Exquisite museum comprising 2 adjacent palatial homes from the 1600's. The art work is stellar - lots of Rubens, Bruegels etc - all of whom were friends/contemporaries of the two homeowners. Staff is very friendly and informative. This is a good museum to see in conjunction with the Plantin-Moretus museum - they cover the same time period and both were private homes.

I'm usually not a big museum fan but this one was different: the interior architecture is great, the interactive app on the iPad that they give you for the tour is really well done and useful, not crap like usually when they tell you useless stuff about the food that the painter ate the day he started this painting. The woman at the entrance is really kind and helpful. The garden is small but cute. You can spend between 30 minutes and two hours in this museum.

Snijders & Rockoxhuis is a hidden gem in Antwerp! While it might get overlooked for the bigger museums, it's absolutely worth a visit. The collection of works by Snijders and Rockox is truly amazing and breathtaking to see in person. My one frustration, however, is the lack of information tags for the paintings. You have to use a cumbersome iPad-like guide to get any details, which means you're constantly looking at a screen instead of the art itself. It really takes away from the experience—I'm here to see the art, not stare at a screen! I ended up putting the device back and just enjoying the art without the context, which was a shame.

An absolutely delightful museum. It was very quiet when we visited, on a Tuesday, which was our luck. Wonderful masterpieces, beautifully restored and displayed in clutter free spaces. Each room has comfortable stools. The gallery provides, at no extra cost, a tablet that is simple to use and gives you information on almost all the artwork in the gallery. Gallery staff are approachable and a font of extra knowledge.

It is so nice to see so many old paintings and other forms of art in a house what used to be somebody’s home once centuries ago. Beautiful setting, nice atmosphere (seeing youngsters in art classes analyzing the paintings). Definitely worthwhile the visit!

Best museum experience! (that I've ever had globally). In addition to some audio clips, the museum gives an iPad which provides illuminating and interesting information about every single piece of art they have (vs other house museums that barely provide info). The art is beautiful! Plenty of comfy places to sit, absorb and enjoy. The guards are quiet which makes for better enjoyment and they are knowledgeable about the paintings. Beautiful music playing throughout at a non-disruptive volume. Very warmly recommend.

Yelp
What a lovely house museum! The historic details that have been preserved here are amazing and well worth checking out. The museum also is not that huge, so this is the sort of place that feels memorable and special, yet you will not need to be there for hours to see everything. Definitely worth visiting on a trip to Antwerp!

Yelp
Lots of paintings depicting dead, gutted, bloody animals either getting ready to be eaten, butchered or cooked up. Not my taste but I can appreciate it was the popular theme of the times
