Snowman Lodge & Spa

Our room was so small yet packed full of furniture, we had nowhere to put our bags. The room was dusty, and had cobwebs and spiders in the corners. Not to mention there was hair that was definitely not ours all over the place, including in the bed and the shower. Needs a better, more thorough clean. Didn’t have great facilities, the shower didn’t drain well, and the hand soap was really watered down and smelled unpleasant.

Just overall not a great experience. Handy location, but unenthusiastic staff, lots of mistakes and errors with our meals at the restaurant - one person’s basic meal was forgotten until everyone else in our small party had virtually finished, a random chocolate dessert was served before entrees instead of a salted caramel martini and this when it wasn’t busy - we were the only ones in the restaurant. Our superior room was basic, bunks were SO terrifyingly squeaky and didn’t feel safe when anyone even thought to breathe, let alone roll over. No fan in the bathroom, no smoke alarm in our room which was at the end of the building and no other exit except back up the shared corridor which is a scary thought in the event of an emergency. Bathroom sink didn’t drain. Staff weren’t overly polite - it felt like our presence was a nuisance.

Only rating the massage as we didn’t stay here. We had an incredibly positive experience at Snowman Spa & Lodge. We originally booked a couples massage, but due to a last-minute change in plans when our babysitter canceled, we reached out to see if we could bring our young son along. The team was incredibly understanding and accommodating they kindly allowed him to sit quietly in the room while we had our massage, and they treated us with warmth and care throughout. On top of that, we had to reschedule our massage time more than once, and they were very flexible, adjusting our booking without any extra charge or hassle. The massage itself was relaxing and professional, and the entire experience felt welcoming and stress-free despite our unexpected circumstances. Highly recommend Snowman Spa & Lodge not only for their high-quality service, but also for their genuine kindness and customer care.

Found dead blowfly and rubbish on windowsill. No tea or coffee facilities in room. Bunk bed is horrendous. Made of metal and extremely noisy when either top or bottom bunk sleeper moves in the slightest. Very rickety too. The bunk beds have no top sheet so we were sleeping against a horrible synthetic quilt that hasn't been washed in ages. It had that stale sleep smell from lots of other people sleeping against it. This room cost us $180 and was called the superior suite. Not impressed. Had a very very bad yucky sleep. The stale sleep smell was disgusting. The same smell as when someone sleeps for days in their clothes without washing. I do not recommend this place.

Nice stay overall. The room was fine and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was good too. The kitchen was very clean and well-equipped, which was great. You can also book the hot tub for a good price — a nice bonus!

Great location but the place was rundown and lots of things weren't really up to standard. The oven in the communal area didn't work. There was no soap or shampoo in the shower dispensers, we booked for four people but there were only three towels so we had to request another. Wouldn't book to stay again.

Amanorat was my masseuse (I hope I spelt her name right) She was very professional and I loved my body massage and head and facial. It was a cold day and the massage bed was warm and had a cozy blanket. The negatives are small but important, waiting lounge was cold dark and uninviting and shower/toilet where i got changed was cold. Having said that I would certainly go again.

Was really looking forward to our stay here, it looked really nice online. We stayed in cabin 2. Was great that there was a kitchen and hang out area for everyone to use. The room was nice to start out with, we only stayed one night thankfully, we found the slider door and drapes were covered in mold (not really what you want when pregnant!). It obviously hadn't been cleaned in a while. The reply we got back via email (as reception wasn't open when we checked out at 9am) was disappointing, was essentially 'sorry, we'll fix it now'. For what we paid, we were not happy to find it moldy.
