So Young Hostel

Very friendly and familiar staff, self critical and also helpful and the place is tip-top! I've been in the hostel for two consecutive nights, I've arrived late and they were there for me, they helped me with the parking, and the facilities are very clean, the bunker bed room is spacious in comparison to other hostels, and everything was clean and you could see the regularity it was being cleaned leaves no space for mess! Bathrooms, kitchen, and a very nice and quiet terrace, I could work without annoying anyone and without being annoyed... Was just ideal!

My stay here was great! The lockers in the room were large enough to hold my large backpack. Showers were very clean. Rooftop bar was great for meeting people. Great kitchen space, large fridge provided. Conveniently located near many things, there’s a nice cafe right across the street for food and drinks. Staff was so helpful and friendly! Will absolutely stay here when I come back to Crete!

I stayed for one night in November in the private double room on my first visit to Heraklion. The airport transfer that the hostel organized for me was affordable and very reliable. The hostel is super clean and in a perfect central location but without traffic noise. The roof terrace offers a nice place to hangout with other guests. Finally the staff were super helpful. Need to rent a modern car for a good price? Yorgos knows the right person. Recommendations on where to stay in Crete? Yorgos patiently listened to my very rough plans that I made through researching on the web and readily shared his input with me. I would definitely stay here again when in Heraklion.

*Honestly, one of the best places I’ve ever stayed at!* The cleanliness is impeccable, and the rooms are exceptionally comfortable. The staff is professional and incredibly friendly, making you feel completely at home. The location is ideal and close to everything you might need, and the beds are so comfortable you won’t want to leave them. The overall atmosphere is warm and peaceful, and the decorative touches give the place a unique and special character. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a stay that combines comfort, style, and attention to detail.

Had a great stay at So Young Hostel! The female dorm was very nice and even had a balcony which was really nice. The staff was super friendly as well, especially Zsanett, Matilde and Maju, the volunteers. The rooftop was very cozy and even had a bar! That was perfect for a chill evening

This was my very first time in Greece, and So Young Hostel made it unforgettable. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, always happy to help with tips on where to go and what to see. The atmosphere was relaxed and social, making it easy to meet other travelers. The location is perfect — right in the heart of Heraklion, so you can walk to cafes, shops, and historical sites in minutes. The place was clean, comfortable, and felt safe at all times. Amazing people, great vibes, and the perfect base for exploring Crete. I’ll definitely be back!

Everybody was being very friendly from the staff to the guests themselves, chitchatted with some people, had some lovely interactions ! :) The front desk lady was easy-going and kind, she explained everything well :) I just wish there was put effort into helping people connect together! Maybe organizing a simple trip for a small charge, or maybe even for free having a poll to see who's interested in traveling spontaneously and then assigning a group :) Only for whoever is interested of course!

Typical hostel. Private toilet bathrooms but coed/ mixed showers. The showers are really nice and have doors that you can’t see anyone but weird to have a man showering in the same room. Bathrooms were the cleanest. Air conditioning was okay. Pretty hot at night. Felt like a safe area. Bring your own lock and towel and shower shoes. Very friendly staff and rooftop bar to get to know people.
