This place went down the drain years ago. As a kid, I remember them adding something special and unique every few years and then they just got cheap and lazy. Cedar Fairs made it even worse if that was even possible. Now Six Flags owns it and you would assume there would be an over night improvement but a year and a half later, nada and next year sounds the same other than a partial change to the water park that will probably be more of a liquor lounge instead of family rides from what I've read.

We reserved a cabana here for $200. After a friendly check in we were told a person would bring a flag and a menu. Over the course of an hour and a half, as well as speaking with 3 different people nobody took our drink order. If they are short staffed they should just say so. Can't really say anything about the food or drinks we never got any.

It was ok. Too many people though, didn't know how to behave without bothering others near by.

kids loved it, but the water was nasty!

Yelp
Always a good time at Valley Fair! Opening weekend and it was busy with school field trips, but that will lessen over the next week or two. The Snoopy world is perfect for my 4 year old and timid 7 year old and my 9 year old goes on all the rides! Such an easy way to entertain your kids. Might as well buy the pass if you're local to get the free parking and I think it's only 2 visits to break even!

Yelp
I always coming to Valleyfair every summer! I am a rollercoaster fanatic. I recommend buying your tickets ahead of time since it is cheaper online and recommend buying the parking pass online too. I recommend carpooling if possible too. There's plenty of parking and you honestly don't need the preferred parking. As far as rides here is what I recommend to go to right away: 1. Wild Thing 2. Renegade - this is very fast and loud so do not recommend for little kids. 3. Steelvenom 4. Corkscrew Rides that can visited throughout the day 1. Excalibur - its in the back of the park so it does get miss 2. High roller - line is always long but it's not worth the wait if the line is very long but it is family friendly. 3. Xtreme swing When it comes to the waterpark, there are lockers there if you want a place to secure your wallet, phones, keys, etc. The locker room is spacious but not the cleanest so recommend wearing your swimsuit before you get there. 1. For rides at the waterpark I highly recommend hurricane falls and it can fit up to 4 people so great for groups. It's really fun but can only have one group go at a time so the line moves slow! Otherwise there's a variety of waterslides, the wave pool, raging rapids. For food there's a variety of foods, there's more variety at the front by the entrance! It's very fun and love visiting every time!

Yelp
There are some great rides here. Overall, we had fun. Some rides run really fast with engaged crew that fill open spots and hustle to check safety measures. Some rides were really slow (two were training new people and aren't considered in this review). The food is still expensive and terrible. Almost all food and beverage locations were closed. I had heard they were going to focus on the culinary experience this year, I didn't see that. I saw the same Really bad pizza.

Yelp
I love ValleyFair. My kids always have a great time. They have all the attractions and the water park. 2x1. I went for the corn fest last weekend and they have delicious food. Me encanta Valleyfair. Mis hijos siempre la pasan bien y tienen un parque de diversiones y parque de agua. Yo fui al festival del maíz y la comida es deliciosa.

Yelp
We love Valleyfair! Season passes are a must - it pays itself off in less than two visits! Free parking (normally $25) for pass holders and a ton of discounts offered all season long on merch and food/drinks. We purchased the season long refillable drink cup and were hydrated all day at the parks with free refills every 15 minutes. The water park is so refreshing on those hot summer days, plenty of seating can be found throughout the water park as well as a ton of food and drink options (including adult beverages!) many days were spent this summer enjoying live music and cooling off on the wave pool. I cannot say enough good things about the park, new security measures and curfew/chaperone policies were put into place this year and our family felt safe and had a great time all summer long. We also went to their Halloween tricks and treats event with the passes, highly recommend that if you have little ones. Trick or treat trail, crafting stations, live shows, and a costume contest- It was a great time!

Yelp
Valley fair is a great place to spend your hot summer days. They have a nice selection of food, drinks, rides and waterslides to choose from. Security is quick and understanding. My party was being harassed by this group of teenage boys. I didn't even report them to security or an employee but when I got off the ride security was there and asked me questions about them. Some of the employees are really observant and understanding. I never caught his name but this past summer there was a black male who had to be 17-25. He was super hype and fun. He got everyone on the rollercoaster cheering and chanting and had so much energy! Everytime I saw him he was working at the renegade. I loved him so much he deserves a raise for his hard work! On the other hand some of the employees aren't. My friends and I left to eat our late lunch/dinner in my car and we went back in after. There is a new age policy that I like to keep the pre-teens out without parent supervision after a certain point. But because my friends and look young and we forgot about this rule we got asked for our ID. But this man was extremely rude. Raising his voice at us and when one of my friends didn't have his ID on him he got very aggressive with us. I understand the need for our ID but the aggressive nature of this employee was absolutely unnecessary. There are some other employees that have gotten passive aggressive comments and eye rolls.

Yelp
With a couple of hockey games cancelled during my vacation thanks to the scariness that is the Omicron variant, I had to find some things to do that were safe. I went on my Groupon app and found Christmas in Color, a drive-thru festive lights show. Perfect! Tickets were originally $40. Groupon had tickets at $29 with an additional discount. I ended up paying $22. Yay! I redeemed my Groupon online on the Christmas in Color site. I got an online ticket with a QR code. I had a 6 pm entrance time. I had no problem taking my time driving over to Valleyfair, which is an amusement park. I had never been here, so it was nice to check out a different look and feel to the place. The park is usually open in the summertime. I pulled up to the window and got a helpful man. He scanned my QR code and gave me a red package. I thanked him and began my drive-thru tour. This lights show was amazing. Christmas music was synchronized with the light displays to create such a fun experience. It was impressive! It was recommended that you set your car's FM channel to 87.9. If your FM reception was shot, you could hear the music through the speakers scattered around Valleyfair. I went on a fairly warm evening for Shakopee. It was 5°C. I had no issues having the window down to take photos. The characters were cute and enjoyable. From sweet gingerbread folks, to penguins and polar bears, you saw the enormous effort and thought made strategically placing them around the drive-thru path. The tunnels were fun to drive through, too. If you're sensitive to blinking or flashing lights, you may want to avoid this event. Otherwise, this tour was a ton of fun while keeping you safe during a pandemic. This tour took me 45 minutes to get through everything. None of us were going at a crazy pace. I was happy paying what I did for this tour. I didn't open the red package while taking this tour. When I got back to my hotel room, I took a look at it. The man gave me the VIP package. I had ordered the regular one. Maybe the place needed to get rid of them. The package contained 3D glasses, reindeer noses, candy cane-like lights, Hershey Kisses and mints, a car air freshener, and string Christmas lights that you wear around your neck. I am glad that I didn't put on a pair of paper 3D glasses while driving because they were flimsy. I couldn't figure out how to get the reindeer noses to light up. There wasn't a button or a way to switch them on, which was puzzling. I did manage to bring the air freshener, and candy cane and string lights home. They work and are fun! Christmas in Color was highly enjoyable. I'd do it again if I'm in town during the Christmas holidays again. (20)

Yelp
Week days are the best to go to avoid lines and parking delays. However, my son and I bought the refillable cups and could not use them at any restaurant because of all the bees inside and out of every drinking fountain or buisness we went to. We are very allergic and they are everywhere. So we only got about five rides in and had to leave because of having nothing to drink. I saw plenty of people brave the bees to get their soda or water, but it can not be sanitary to have them flying in and out of the soda lines.

Yelp
I have 3 kids under 6, so we mostly stick to the toddler / small kids area and the wave pool. We have season passes. I've always been super impressed with everything. The halloween special was very nice ... amazing how many decorations went into it. A couple months ago, they had a monster truck event, which was super cool as well. I'm pretty shocked at the low rating Yelp has for Valley Fair, but think it's due to a couple things that don't impact us: 1.) must be long lines outside of the little kid area (little kid areas does not have long lines). 2.) expensive if you're not a season ticket holder and just wNt to go for 1 day. The bad: the food is horrible and stupidly overpriced.

Yelp
Super fun, thrilling and exciting! Great place to spend time with friends or family. I have been to many theme parks and Valleyfair is one of my favourite parks!

Yelp
I hadn't been to Valleyfair since the early auts, but my son loves rides and is is fearless. Now that I am older, I am a little more apprehensive to do the big ones, but it's still fun. Even though it's a hike from where we live, I purchased the 2022 season pass which pretty much pays for itself in two visits. The season pass was a steal in price and it was good until the end of October and all of next year with free parking and bring a friend tickets at a reduced price and discounts and then add- ons if you choose. It includes the waterpark, ValleyScare, Peanuts Halloween. The park is really decorated and done up for Halloween. Great photo opportunities. Bonus at the end of the season is that it's really not packed. Rarely have we had to wait very long for a ride. Rides have changed a bit since I was there, but most of the familiar ones are still running. Wild Thing, High Roller, Antique Cars, etc. The entire park is cashless, so bring a debit card or be prepared to turn your cash into a card to pay. The concession prices are ridiculous, but I expected them to be. $17.00 for 3 medium pops. Really? Glad you can bring in a water bottle. Staff has always been helpful at the front gate and online. Can bring in a backpack which is nice and they search it which is fine.

Yelp
Took the family to Valleyfair today. For a family of 5 it's not an inexpensive day. The weather was rainy earlier in the day so we waited a little longer knowing the forecast was showing things would clear up. Sure enough as expected the sun came out and the temps increased. To our surprise Valleyfair announced they would be closing for inclement weather. They close early when the weather was just getting nice. So disappointing to venture here and spend the money we did for Valleyfair to decide their profitability that day was more important than paying guests. At least cut the prices & $25 parking in half for guests in situations like this.

Yelp
Valley fair is so fun and the rides are bussin most of the food is mid except for subway and the food is always over priced and don't even get me started on Panda Express the chicken is hard and the rice is harder .a also to is very expensive to get in.

Yelp
It's really nice to have time away with the family. Valleyfair is the cornerstone in minnesota since 76. Bringing joy and fun to all families that want a good thrill. And if you are not up to the challenge of a good thrill then spend your time on the lazy river like I do at their wonderful Waterpark. Or go on their adventurous water slides, or even their wave pool. Me personally, enjoy having a nice cold $14 beer on a hot day. Will I come back....of course I will.

Yelp
Hooray! We were so excited to visit the park for the first time since the pandemic. This review deserves at least four stars considering how well ValleyFair was prepared on its second day of operations. It was a great start to summer fun. They did a great job getting the park ready, cleaned and sanitized. Hand sanitizer stations throughout the park. Landscaping looked awesome and so welcoming. Staff did a great job and we just loved the reservation system set up to control the crowd capacities. Job well done. We will be back several times this summer. 2018 review- three stars We moved to Minnesota after being spoiled living next to Kings Island in Mason, Ohio. Our family grew up loving Kings Island so Valleyfair can be disappointing in comparison. Valleyfair is 1/3 the size of Kings Island and its roller coasters are disappointing. It's nice for Minnesota families. Ohio has nothing else to do so it needs major amusement parks and roller coasters to enjoy (such as Cedar Point and Kings Island).

Yelp
Took my family here the first week of September. And half of everything was closed. 75% of fountain pop was out, soveneir cups were out. What a joke. When did all the games start charging sales tax. Same priced admission, though. The whole state of Minnesota is just a corrupt taxation of everything. Save your money and go somewhere better. Preferably where they don't tax you and charge extra on everything.

Yelp
I let my 18 year old take his brother and a friend for there for the first time alone for a birthday. They went at about 3. They went to eat in the parking lot and tried to get back in since they went through the proper protocol to leave and were told they can't get back in because of a new age policy. It's really frustrating that this new age policy isn't posted (or at least very visibly) at the exit. I would have went with or had them do things differently if I knew about this policy. It was a lot of money for just a couple of hours.

Yelp
Super fun with family and friends. They definitely improved as the years went by. The workers were also friendly and funny.

Yelp
Its 12am and they only have 4 people cleaning at valley fair. ONLY FOUR WORKERS CLEANING MAKING THEM STAY OUT THIS LATE. I WANT MY BF HOME. he was off at 11-11:30. Also when I was at valley fair my group and this other group were arguing saying stuff back and forth and only we're hard on my group and the other group got to enjoy rides while we got kicked out

Yelp
If you read most of these exaggerated reviews no one would go to this place. Lets start with the admission price. Be smart folks, if you walk up to the ticket gate without checking other options then you deserve to pay the $54 gate charge. A simple visit to the Valleyfair website will yield you a $39.99 admission ticket with all the Coke products you can drink all day 10-10! As for the parking...same thing $12 on-line. I chuckled at the review where a person was upset because she was only walking around and still had to pay full price. I suppose they could give everyone a wristband that would ride (because if you gave it to the non-rider they could just rip it off....like I do at the ballpark when getting my FREE soda for being a designated driver) but the first visit the Wave or Thunder Canyon would wash them off. As for the lines at the soda fountain, I do agree they could do better. How come they don't just give you a band at the admission gate? It pops up on their screen. This is certainly an area for growth! Speaking of lines, Sunday morning is by far the BEST time to go. No lines at all!! We continued to ride the same rides without waiting more than a couple minutes. The people started a steady flow in after noon. By the 4pm discount time, people were piling in! We left! I have been coming to this place since it opened in 1976. It seemed a lot bigger when I was younger but still a great place to spend the day. Our grandson loved the place! Still very clean and well kept. Food is reasonable for a theme park. We ate at Coasters and had a cinnamon roll at Cinnabon. The chicken strips were very large and the portions were plenty. The bacon cheese burger was nothing special but took care of my hunger. Cinnabon...need I say more? The new swing ride was cool but the I miss the enterprise! All and all...worth the money if you shop wisely!

Yelp
I was at Valleyfair a week ago. I have been to Valleyfair many times, starting when I was in college and taking my kids there when they were growing up so was looking forward to taking my niece there when she was visiting. Unfortunately, this was not the park I remember. When we arrived, the good things were that there was no line to get in and the park was not busy, so there were not lines to get on many of the rides. My niece enjoyed meeting the characters - Snoopy, Lucy, Charlie Brown, and Linus. This is where the positives end. Many of the rides were run down. We went on the Wave to cool down as it was a hot day. On impact of the descent of this ride, my rib hit the lap bar so hard that the foam detached from the metal bar. I told the attendant about this and they just responded "oh." I initially thought I had just knocked the wind out of me but the pain progressed and I ended up going to urgent care where I was diagnosed with a fractured rib. I decided to contact Valleyfair to file an incident report. It has now been a week and I have been unsuccessful in talking to anyone. The phone rings and rings with no one answering. I filed an email and received an automated response that someone would get back to me and no one has. I finally reached a live person by calling group reservations and they transferred me to guest services. They told me they talked to their manager and safety manage and that someone would get back to me. No one has. Overall, the customer services is terrible and despite having a person that is in the role of safety manager, it does not feel that safety is a priority or a concern. I will not go back.

Yelp
The older I get the less rides I enjoy, the more expensive it gets. Parking is $17 alone. Carpool for sure! Admission is around $55 per adult. You can find coupons or if you buy online there's an discount but then there's also a processing fee. After a certain time (I believe 5 pm) the price drops a little bit (& the lines get A LOT longer) I used to always get the Gold season pass, which includes admission, parking & small percentage discount on merch & food around the park (there's more perks but these are the most important to me). You usually get your money's worth after 2 visits. It's worth it if you plan on going a lot or like I said at least 2 times. Includes admission to Valleyscare as well. I feel as if the rides are declining, needs an update on rides. I feel like there's not enough high thrill rides. The Wild thing has been around my whole young life & I've probably been on over a million times & I think it's the highest roller coaster here. I only ride 7-8 rides per visit. Usually; Steel Venom, Wild Thing, Renegade, XTreme Swing, Excalibur, Power Tower & maybe a small "carnival" style ride here & there. The water park was updated with new water slides & a giant wave pool a few years ago. It's a lot of fun when it's not too packed. I like the giant slide you can go on with a group also the lazy river (also when kids aren't trying to swim in it). The food here is also expensive, you do not get your money's worth anywhere. Similar to movie concession prices. You can't bring outside food in but you can picnic in the parking lot, which is nice & can save you money if you have a larger group. No lids for drinks. I can think of many reasons why they don't offer them (reducing waste as one) but there's way too many bugs, flies & mosquitoes you have to defend your $6-8 fountain drink from. The bathroom floors even when you aren't near a water ride are always covered in water/liquid & are in horrible shape. I like that they added shade spots, for the bag holders in your group that don't get on rides. Also the flowers around the park are always very beautiful & well taken care of!! Looking to visit some of the other Cedar Point Parks.

Micheal H.

Yelp
The water park is closed and if you click the link for hours it displays hours of 9:30 to 5:30pm with soak city on top of page. Guest services have been absolutely rude and uncommunicative when I reached out via phone and also through email. The entire family came for water park and only to find it closed and valley fair not offering any kind of apology.

Anthony D.

Yelp
I loved Valleyfair as a kid. I still remember being ~7 years old, and talking with my dad about the Corkscrew before my first ride in an upside-down rollercoaster. "Are you sure we won't fall out?". However, by the time I finished high school in the late 90's Valleyfair was feeling a bit run down. It had been over 20 years since I'd been to Valleyfair, but I just visited with the kids (7 & 10), and my cautious optimism/nostalgia seeking was very well rewarded. The park was super clean, the staff was friendly and engaging with the kids, and there were tons of family friendly rides. Our kids had an absolute blast. We also saw (but didn't experience), that the water park is huge now, and there are a couple of newer thrill rides for older park goers/thrill seekers. Looking forward to those when the kiddos get a bit older! Certainly the icing on the cake during the trip: I stood outside the Corkscrew with my 7 year old, talking about his fear of an upside-down coaster. "Are you sure we won't fall out?". I told him about talking to "Papa" about that same coaster when I was a kid, and he plucked up his courage and climbed aboard for is first ride in an upside-down rollercoaster. Honestly, how do you beat that!

Yelp
We have been to Valleyfair many times since moving to MN in 1979. They continually change and update the rides and attractions. They try to keep it fresh. They DO charge for parking here. I am not sure what they do if you are simply dropping off kids to play at the park. Did you know they have season passes? They do and they are discounted before the year begins most of the time and you can start to buy the passes in October for the next year. They offer some good discounts if you buy early. I also believe that you get a parking pass if you are a season ticket holder. In October they have an all age Halloween attraction that features several haunted houses and other things like they turn an area of the walkway into a spooky graveyard where characters pop out from dimly lit areas to try to startle you. I also enjoy scaring the people unexpectedly in the party of people that I am with. It is too easy! LOL They also have some nice water slides and lazy river that used to be a separate charge to go into but now it is added to the regular admission. If you are going to these attractions, bring your suit. You can freely go between the park and your car throughout the day/night so you can pack food in your car or make food in the small campground area in the back.

Yelp
Went here on 10/26/19 for the Valley Scare. The park was packed. The prices seemed reasonable. They also have a military discount. The staff were friendly and polite. They had numerous haunted houses and a few rides open. They also had people dressed up walking around to scare people. There were also fog machines and props to make it a little scary for kids. The down side was the wait time for the rides due to a lot of the roller coasters being closed. It would have been nice to have more rides to go on. I would go again.

Yelp
My wife had a cool deal where they rented out the Theme Park for the day trough Optum. We arrived with our free parking and we hit Wild Thing quickly. Good ride, but pretty tame. Fun though. We also did Corkscrew, High Roller, Mouse coaster, and my favorite, Renegade. Super fast and lots of twists and turns. They have a ton of rides here, but I don't think I need to come back in the next 10 years. A fun day with my brother and soon to be sister-in-law.

Yelp
Finally got a chance to head to Valleyfair this year on Saturday and it started out great but as the day goes by..it was packed. Rides were great...there were several that weren't open and the Dinosaur walk around part is gone. The sad part to see is that almost 90% of people there weren't masked or social distancing. I was sad to see that Pete N Chick's area where they have Crab fries with the dip is gone and replaced with Stadium Grill Stadium. Gonna miss those deliciously seasoned fries with cheese dip. The selection for food choices especially for those that purchased the Dining plan is disappointing. The food place choices are almost the same with "whatever" in a basket...chicken tender basket/cheeseburger basket/hot dog basket. The roasted corn booth isn't open but thank goodness we were able to get corn over the Northwood Grills. Was going to get turkey leg but the wait to get corn is painfully long. It was 45minutes approximately just to get food. You can tell by everyone's frustration because they did not have a good system there after you ordered your meal...some people were getting their orders before others. The wait for turkey leg were too long so we got roasted corn and Juicy Lucy burger basket. The first couple of bites was good except for the raw patty mostly so decided to take that home. It's the second week of Valleyfair and maybe they didn't have it down yet considering they didn't open last year due to the unfortunate pandemic and they might be short staffed now. However to get our All Season drink refill was tough too because of the queue and not all drink stations were open. Hopefully things will get better as the season goes on.

Yelp
At Valleyfair on Labor Day and it's almost criminal they let us in. Less than half the rides are open. Same story on food stands - nothing open. Absolutely ridiculous to pay money for this.

Julie T.

Yelp
Came here to see if others also think the "Fast Lane" passes are horrible. "Fast Lane" passes have created two parks--one for the 'haves,' and one for the 'have-nots.' The 'haves' pay an extra $60 per person so they can force the rest of us slobs to stand in line for an extra 45 minutes per ride--while one after another of the Fast Lane 'haves' literally walk right up and get on the ride--no waiting. What a disgusting program. Fast Lane has ruined this park. *Also, I see that Valleyfair has removed reviews from their Facebook page. (I guess that's one way to deal with bad reviews; another might have been to make positive changes.) They can't get honest Yelp reviews removed, so that's why you're seeing this. Would love to see others let ValleyFair know they do not like the "Fast Lane" program--let's get ValleyFair back to the great park it used to be!

Yelp
This used to be a field trip destination and now is a family day destination. One thing that never changes is that you can easily spend a whole day here no matter what you desire to do. The price might be a shocker at first but there is a lot to do here and you can easily get your money's worth. You can ride thrill rides like Wild Thing, Steel Venom, or Power Tower or take a dip or slide at their water park. Honestly, if you live close I would suggest getting a season pass to save a good amount of money. I also enjoy the Dinosaur Park and my kids love Snoopy World. You can easily spend a whole day here with something to do for everyone. Special events like Valley Scare also add to the options that your family can choose from.

Kristy N.

Yelp
Fast Pass has ruined this park. I grew up going to Valley Fair and was excited to take my kids for the first time as they are finally old enough to ride all of the rides. We waited for almost an hour per ride - even Thunder Canyon. The most frustrating part was realizing we were waiting that long because people kept coming up with their Fast Pass making us wait even longer. At times and entire ride filled up with "fast passers." We are a family of 5. We paid $192 to get into the park. We would have had to pay another $300 to get the Fast Pass. Absolutely ridiculous. We also paid for food. What family can afford almost $600 for a day at an amusement park?? We had to make a reservation and I'm questioning why as the park was extremely crowded. Why force reservations when you are going to let everyone in who wants to be there? We will not be back and that is so disappointing.

Dan B.

Yelp
Not the the same as it used to be. I understand we are in the time of COVID and staffing shortages; however, simply not worth it. 45-60 minute wait. Numerous rides closed. Completely agree with previous reviews regarding the "Fast Pass" - such a cash grab and ruining the experience for so many. I'd rather they just charge $50 per person. Limited capacity? Lines were long and most were not masked. Due to reduced hours it took an extra 30 minutes just to park and get into the park. I. won't be returning. Loved it as a kid but won't put my kids through that again.

Kang Y.

Yelp
Breakers Bay Cabana service sucks. Took us 3 hours to get our food we ordered through the waiter. Multiple times we flagged him/them down and was told 5 mins at least 3 times. We get it, it's busy so we tried being patient. Finally my husband went to the restaurant and asked where our food was and said he will wait for it. Nope! Said they will bring it in 5 mins as it's being cooked "right now." An hour later still nothing. He went back and said stop with the BS. He said "if you haven't cooked my order, cancel it or I am waiting for it." Finally gave him the very expensive tender platter we ordered for our very hangry kiddos who have been waiting around for food. Granted, we went and ordered fries and burgers in the mean time to tie them over. Poor service from staff all around. No offense but it's just young kids who are working seasonally with no customer service experience. Unsatisfied season pass holders. Do not recommend.

Yelp
I'm a sucker for a good amusement park with some decent roller coasters and thrill rides. Valleyfair is by no means a world class park and I wouldn't have visited it if I wasn't in the Twin Cities area but I was and I'm glad I did. Valleyfair kind of has the vibes of late 80s Cedar Point, only smaller and not surrounded by water. The employees were friendly, goofy and helpful, though I feel like they were perhaps on the pink cloud of a new season beginning as we went on opening weekend. (There was one ride op on Wild Thing who was like a young jock version of Dwight Schrute but I'll take a kid who's an anal retentive hardass about his job over some of the DGAF types I've encountered at SFGA and Cedar Point.) Ride ops made sure trains were full and cracked jokes. A bored skill game worker helped me find High Roller. Wild Thing and Renegade are 2 don't miss coasters and with a light mist coming down on a brisk Minnesota Saturday crowds were light and my friends and I rode them 4 times apiece. Steel Venom isn't a full circuit coaster, but it's a blast of adrenaline and rerideable, too. The drop tower and giant swing rides are fun, too. Both my friends groused about the price, but $40 tickets (if purchased online) could have been worse. The water park is included but it was too chilly for that or any other water ride and they aren't much my thing anyway. $17 for parking, urgh, and the overpriced chicken strips at the Coasters diner were meh, and Ely said the same of the Burger. Nowhere to find energy drinks, either! I could usually really go for one of those late in the afternoon at an amusement park. At Cedar Point and SFGA they practically pour that stuff down your throat! Valleyfair has a very family friendly atmosphere. Ely kept looking for Juggalos or church groups but couldn't find either. Just lots of teens, tweens, tykes and parents. Thank God for the lone guy with scraggly white hair and a bushy beard riding Wild Thing. He was about the only other adult coaster junkie we saw! Valleyfair isn't the easiest park to navigate, despite it's smaller size. There's this access road that cuts right through the middle of the park and forces you into a tunnel with low clearance to pass it. And it's easy to run into a dead end in the middle of the park where they plopped down Xtreme Swing and Power Tower. Some signage there would help. We got stuck on Delirious, the new looping ride. Fortunately it was after we rode. They succeeded in releasing us after ten minutes, and as it was near closing time we made a beeline for Renegade, the best ride at VF. We got on in the nick of time and they even gave us last callers a retire! They had no idea about the Delirious snafu but in my mind it cancelled it out. This park could definitely use another big coaster and some tweaking of the layout but overall is a winner in my book. Less big league attractions but way less waiting isn't the worst trade off. I'll get back to Cedar Point eventually...

Yelp
For years every year the family would go on a trip to Valleyfair and each year it seems like the place "loses something". We went this year on a Saturday (July 10th) and it may be our last annual trip. First, the good.... All of the staff was really nice and pleasant to interact with. Us adults were sitting by a bench when they were changing garbage and the staff came to us just to apologize for the smell, which wasn't even that noticeable. For the bad.... First, due to covid there are no walk-ins. Tickets for this date had to be pre-purchased online and the messaging online stated that while the park is open, it was a limited capacity. Well, getting there at noon'ish comparing to years' past, it totally didn't appear to be limited capacity. Just like previous years the average wait for a ride was 30-45 mins. This wouldn't be an issue if they didn't advertise that the park was operating at limited capacity. What WAS limited capacity were the food options. Understanding there is likely a staffing shortage just like with many entry level businesses, it was a sad surprise to see how many concessions were closed. The worst was somehow none of the concessions sold Mini-doughnuts. Well, technically one stand was open when we got there but the other stands were closed. Once we got back around to the one open stand a couple hours later, that stand was closed for the day because according to the staff the machine broke. The other bad was the concession pricing was/is just insane. For four people we bought two orders of French fries, a small cheese curds, and two bottles of water and the cost was just over $45.00!! I had to make the joke that the "limited capacity" was there is limited capacity for money to remain in your wallet with these prices. Again, hats off to the staff. They were nice. It was everything else that is why we will likely next year find another lower cost activity for the family to do on our trip to the Twin Cities.

Yelp
I was told I would have access to all rides and water park as a season pass holder. The first time I went I was turned away from the Ferris wheel as I was by myself but there was no signage that said no single riders. Also many of the summer dates I wanted to go the park is now closed. They will not let me stop payments on my season pass. Ridiculous! Never again!! I will invest my money in business that actually value their customers.

Yelp
Overpriced and long lines. After september they close half the rides and that makes all the others have longer lines. The valleys are mazes are terrible had a dude literally blowing his breath in my face my wife was disgusted by it. The music is absolutely terrible during the summer and trust me they will not change it nobody how much your complain. Literally the only good thing about this place is the water park and a few of the coasters if they are open. Overpriced as hell parking cost 17 dollars 20 ounce coke is 4 dollars 20 ounce Powerade is 5 dollars. Minimum price for a meal with drink is 16 dollars without drink is 12. The food is also terrible. Mall of America is better

Yelp
Do not get the dine and snack pass. You literally get one snack for the day and you can get food every 90 minutes. It's not an issue IF you're standing in line for food all day. The lines for rides averaged about 40 minutes. We rose only about 6 rides all day, and we stayed a little passed closing time. We always make sure to ride the wild thing and renegade. We were not able to ride the steel venom this time but I would recommend that ride as well. The water park lines were also long but the wave is always fun for the kids. It's hard to find an open chair anywhere though.

Yelp
ValleyFair was great. Loved how there was a lot of kiddie rides for my 6 and 3 years old. They had a blast.

Yelp
I took my husband here for his birthday this year, and it was a total blast! We got there a little later than anticipated (had hoped to arrive around 10:30-11... it was closer to noon) so we, unfortunately, couldn't claim a spot at the water park. Ended up leaving the towel in the car for one less thing to lug around. The rides were fun and the lines were short enough. I'm glad we didn't pay for the front of the line passes, since I don't think it would've done much good. Plus, from what I've heard, they only apply to some of the rides and maybe only once. Overall very clean and everything seemed to be operational. I wish the prices would be a little more reasonable though. One day here is pretty pricey, and they will nickel and dime at EVERY opportunity. We paid $15 to rent a locker, which is absolutely absurd. We did have a good time, but I just don't see the draw to go back constantly and continue to pay such an outrageous price.

Yelp
Such a fun amusement park I loved going here growing up and now I get to take my soon to be child here one day! I'm excited for them to experience what I did as a child I loved the Halloween themed valley scare the did each year it is a bit expensive but it's expected since it's a business just be prepared for that and you'll have a great day! Lots of places to sit and eat or go to the bathroom when you need to. Definitely family friendly environment for water activities or just roller coaster rides! They also have a child section in the park for more friendly child rides

Yelp
Took my boys here for their birthdays. We order tickets online because its cheaper than buying at gate. I would recommend purchasing all ticket ONLINE. For example, entrance and parking ticket along with buying all day dining online would save you $5 each. If your family is like mines, eating everything. Family of four, buy two all day dining therefore you could eat every 90 mins. Its worth it if your like me, who did not ride and eat often. I ate everything that they offered with all day dine pass. Bad thing about the all day dine, you only get one smack. I only wished more snack like cheese curd, dipping dots, and mini doughnuts. Although, pizza from one of the food stand was horrible. Tasted like cardboard. Seriously, we ordered two cheese and tossed it out. Turkey leg was okay but kind of on the dry side. China express was good and chicken fingers with home fries were good too. I like how the rides aren't too far distant from each therefore you're not too overwhelmed. Especially Snoopy planet its great for the little ones.

Yelp
So I got a caricature done while I was there yesterday. It was pretty good too! But the person doing it ended up dropping a paint bottle on the drawing and making a drop underneath the eye. My mother was a little upset, so she said "why dont you try making it into a heart? or a star?" But the artist used the airbrush tool. And airbrushs aren't exactly precision tools. So the heart the artist drew ended up being bigger then the mistake they made in the first place! And I know, mistakes happen. But they could have used the pencil they used in the first place. Anyway, just sharing my experience.

Yelp
I used to love going here but recently it seems like a horror fest. Not a single bathroom had soap in the dispensers, and most were out of paper towels. Not to mention the family rooms near the pool had human feces on the ground. It was disgusting. The food options were not much better either. All the pop machines were out of ice or the soda was flat. When you let an employee know, they looked baffled like they had no idea how to fix it. I even told them the CO2 was out, and they looked like I was speaking a foreign language. The diner was run horribly. They ran out of burgers but had plenty of tenders. However the employees literally just stood there while waiting for the burgers instead of taking chicken tender orders. It was embarrassing to watch. All while the lobby was so messy and the straws were out. These teens seemed to not know what cleaning was and there was no adult in sight. You could see 3 of them in the back just goofing off. All the food stalls also closed before the park so my meal plan became Useless. AND DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE PRICING!!!! They are no longer affordable. Food costs an arm and a leg. Parking is also more than half the ticket price. Pack a lunch in your car if you still want to go. With the lines for food, it would be faster....... Speaking of fast, the lines everywhere are run by sloths. The only efficient ride that had a good loading, and unloading time was the Wild thing, which they stopped taking pictures for randomly and we could get ours..... JUST DONT GO Don't fund this poor management. Not only have they cancelled the best part, Valley Scare, but they run a park with no care in the world.

Yelp
Good family activity with kids. Once a year is enough. If not every other year. Fun for kids, not that exciting for adults. It would be nice if there were more dining options, non-ride activities, etc.

Yelp
Do not buy a season pass. They did not offer full refunds for those who wouldn't utilize passes in 2021. Poor customer service. Can't call because no one picks up.
