The design of this place is Gaudi-esque. The rooms by the water above the beach are divine. But. No hot shower or bath. That was a big turnoff for me especially when so many of the roads are dusty dirt roads. ||Also, there is almost no internet. There are no sites close to the hotel. And the area is wretched. The beach is littered with garbage and no one from the hotel bothers to pick any of it up. I lugged 4 car tires up the stairs and dumped them. I'm guessing they'll be back. ||The people are very friendly staff are wonderfully accommodating. The Muslims are ruining beyond the hotel. All they care about is roping in other suckers and collecting the money. ||The food is good. Prices fairly good. The place is getting rundown but is still a wow when seeing it for the first time. But In 20 years because of erosion, this hotel and other building will tumble into the ocean. The locals have no idea about what is to come, carelessly building right on the beach embankments. Architecture? What architecture? The hotel is the best thing in the area. ||And good luck getting to some of the sites. It is nightmarish to travel on the roads... ie: dirt.

It's a fantastic place where to relax, enjoy chats with local people and mostly to experience true senegalais art. With my friend we did the dance class, the djembé, the pottery and the batik. All teachers are great professionals really happy to share with tourists their culture and show their country through art. Food is simple and nice, and the views on the ocean are top. We met and hired our guide Ibrahima while having our first meal. All the staff is very friendly and always wanting to help. Really recommended! PS: If you have the chance to explore Toubab Dialaw, go to L'école des sables, you will never regret seeing people dance in there

The cultural workshops, especially the batik and the drumming were appreciated by my family, but also by a group of American teachers of French visiting from the USA. The batik was a nice calming activity. We appreciated the hands-on aspect of the drumming lesson, and made a fair amount of progress, and had a lot of fun in an hour! The location is ideal for relaxing, with beautiful courtyards and terraces, some overlooking the ocean. On a clear day, you can see the Dakar skyline, looking back towards the peninsula. The beach here is small and rocky, but the sunsets are amazing.

Quirky place for sure, but has character and the staff are nice and helpful.|The food and drinks were great.|Location on the beach amazing.|Cool african drumming sessions some evenings.|Rooms are rustic/basic, but nice. Views from the upper rooms over the beach are amazing.|Wifi is off/on but you get by.

Review on behalf of my client. They said they loved their stay. Affordable. Food was good. Rooms was exactly as described. Beach access was plus. Beautiful scenery, especially at sunset. Cons: wifi is questionable and the hotel is too close to locals. Locals are too noisy at night and didnt allow us to have good rest some night. They celebrate and its too loud. Would love for some sound proofing of the rooms atleast on the side facing the locals. Other than they got the bang for their buck. Little annoyances but overall good value and quality

Great hotel. Built in 1970 by an architect from Haiti this is a really beatiful hotel and art centre. Its an oasis of peace in Toubab Dialauw where male (and even more female) tourist are constantly being hussled by (mostly men). Its a common thing there. Sobo Bade is peaceful with beautiful views.
