a great get away location if you want peace and quiet. the rooms are very nice although we all found it strange that there was no door on the bathroom/toilet to separate it from the room. its a little annoying that you have to tell the hotel what time you want breakfast the next day as they have limited space and staff, the same with the evening meal if you wish to eat in the restaurant. we found it quite annoying that when the kids requested drinks or snacks next to the pool area that they were told the staff were on break and would serve them in 30 minutes although when us adults requested something for the kids they attended to it straight away realising that they could not fob off the adults. a really lovely place, have stayed there in the rooms and also in the villas (the villas have doors on the bathrooms LOL

The service was bad, there was mould in the rooms, etc. I don't even know where to start, but this was the worst hotel experience we've had in a long time. We booked two rooms for two adults and two children under 10, and asked if they could be next to each other. They told us that they would do it. Upon arrival, however, the rooms were far apart. When we entered the room, it smelled of mould. I asked the staff if we could change rooms because of the mould, but they said there wasn't any. Well, there was – see my pictures of the wardrobe. The service was pretty bad. We wanted to sit outside, but we had to carry everything outside ourselves, even though the staff were watching. This was not the only issue with the service. We felt that the staff just didn't care about anything. The kids' playground is falling apart. You have to reserve a table for dinner at a certain time, starting at 9 pm, but honestly, my kids are almost asleep by then. We always ate dinner in nearby restaurants, which were fantastic. Coming back to the service, when I checked out, I wasn't even asked how our stay was. Had they asked, I would have told them. Almost forgot that you can hear everything from your neighbors, the walls are very thin

Interesting, modern, built. Rooms were very clean and set up in a private kind of rustic architecture. The Luso-Brazilian Personal/Staff we’re very much kind and caring. As we check out and must leave before the breakfast time, early in the morning, the staff made a nice packed lunch.

The hotel is in the middle of nowhere which is great if you are looking for peace and quiet but sadly a long way from the nearest restaurant.  The 3 bed villa was nicely decorated but the gardens were a mess and full of weeds and long grass.  The villa smelt damp and unlived in.   I was told before I booked it that there was a washing machine but was told on arrival I could not use it as it was the owners.  I would not have booked had I known this

We stayed at one of the villas, which are time share properties rented and managed by the hotel. Service is minimal but you should go with that expectation. I would have liked eg black teabags in the rooms. Breakfast is basic. Lunch menu is limited.

💳 A weird hotel check-in experience — and a reminder to always question things||||I recently checked into a hotel in Portugal — reservation was fully prepaid via my travel agency, no surprises expected.||||But at the front desk, after showing my ID, they also asked for:||||My email address||||My phone number||||And… my credit card details, including the CVV.||||I did ask why, since the room was already paid. I got a vague answer (“just procedure...”); I did see the receptionist type the CVV into their computer. I later spoke with another receptionist, who did delete the CVV from their computer after I insisted, but let’s be honest — it’s just 3 digits. It could’ve easily been memorized or written down.||||I wasn’t comfortable with the whole situation.||||So I:||||Monitored my credit card in real time through my banking app.||||Made sure every online payment needs my manual approval||||Called the bank to flag what happened||||Decided to replace the card after my trip, just to be safe||||🔐 Lesson learned: even in professional settings like hotels, don’t be afraid to politely push back when something feels off — especially when it involves your financial data.

The property, while quite isolated, is in a pleasant elevated position giving nice country views from the rooms and pool/main terrace, and the architecture is simple, but modern and quite attractive. Unfortunately that's where the positives end. This property has two main problems. The materials used (especially in the guest rooms) are of a very poor quality, and terrible maintenance has given the whole property a very run down feeling. Outside, signs and lights are broken, the building needs painting, and litter can be found in the grounds. Lots of the outside paving is stained and the general cleaning of the common areas is very poor (scuffed walls and skirting, and filthy door mats are just two examples). The pool and surrounding area is too small in my opinion for a property of this size. Breakfast was OK but quite basic. Yes, we stayed in peak season, but with a cost of Euro 330 per night for a double, the standard fell way, way below our expectations. This property can no longer trade on its travel awards from 2015-17 and needs serious investment and attention to bring it back up to an acceptable standard..

One of the worst experiences I have EVER had. First of all there is nothing Luxury or Boutique about this experience. We had to 'upgrade' to a villa to accommodate the 4 of us (couple and 2 small children) but the hotel doesn't tell you it's more of a time share, owned by someone else that they don't control. The villa itself sits on the hotel property but was unfinished outside and very poorly finished inside, with handles coming off. Everything was so cheap - the pillows and covers were polyester and lumpy and terrible. There was a massive ant problem so we couldn't use the kithchen. Basic condiments like coffee/ tea / olive oil/ salt / pepper weren't supplied so even though cooking could have been an option it was too difficult unless you bought or brought every little thing. We opted to eat at the hotel, which was a mistake. The staff, though pleasant were unprofessional and overwhelmed. It was like they hadn't been trained. The food was a distgrace, the environment to eat in was awful with bright lights, views into fire safety cabinets. Breakfast was the same. We told the reception that my husband is gluten free. We booked breakfast for 9 AM and when we arrived they forgot and we had to wait for the bread to be 'defrosted' before it came - 45 min later. The establishment could be pretty but it is unloved, uncared for, poorly managed and quite frankly a disgrace. On top of it all there was a water outage and so we didn't have running water for 3 hours - wonderful for a 'luxury boutique experience'. Of our 13 hotels this summer, this was the most overvalued, underdelivered and worst experience. I would not recommend to anyone.
