As a solo traveller, this is probably not the best choice if you stay multiple nights. - Most people are in bigger groups (and book private rooms). - Not really a social vibe in general. All tables are spread out. There is activities that are promoted, but during 4 days I never saw one of those actually happening? (Maybe because they are all comparably rather expensive?) - They advertise a coworking space, but you need to pay 40q for it - Beds in dorms are super shaky + no space to leave your stuff if you are on the upper bed. - 1 Toilet/shower in the dorm + toilet that can be used by all guests. - restaurant prices are okay, brrakfast is really good. Unfortunately, I got a food poisioning after eating dinner here. + Good location right next to the pier. Side note: I used to stay in different Selina Hostels 4 years ago and always enjoyed my stays. Now after the acquisition through Socialtel I feel like they shifted their audience to people that are rather on a short vacation and are willing to spend money, not backpackers anymore.

I wasn’t sure what to expect with this hotel that was pleasantly surprise. It definitely has a social vibe to it. They definitely promote their activity and such but it wasn’t over the top. We had a private double bed room with our own bathroom. Room was clean. And they had housekeeping every day. The bathroom was a little dated, but I got the job done. I will say my only complaint is the shower. The water was very temperamental. It was either scolding hot or ice cold. This hotel room was simple. But I did like that. There was a mirror outside of the bathroom. That’s always a plus. The beds were comfortable and clean. We felt secure. We thought it was a great location as well. You are very close to the City Center Street and the public water taxi docks. There’s also a variety of places right nearby. I thought the location was excellent! We even had to leave the hotel at 3:30 AM but the security guard let us out that was nice. We did pay to add breakfast when we initially booked. And I would say breakfast was very good. We were able to pick one thing off the breakfast menu and coffee was included. I don’t know if it would be cheaper just to buy there as you need but it was nice that breakfast was already covered and we didn’t have to make a decision and find somewhere else. I thought breakfast was enjoyable. There was a AC unit in the room that weekend nice to have that, but it was a little loud, but I think that’s everywhere in Guatemala.

We booked a private room with private bathroom (paid extra to have a private bathroom). When we arrived our water wasn’t working …. Shower wouldn’t run, and when it did there was no hot water. Asked for maintenance to fix it at 3 pm day 1, no one came. Asked again at 8pm and a security guard came and jiggled a knob and fixed nothing. Next day we asked for a new room and they begrudgingly gave us the room late in the day. We also asked for a discount just to the price of a room with a shared bathroom, since that’s essentially what we were getting at that point, and they told us they could get it but spent the rest of the time avoiding us. Manager Told us they had to give the refund in cash and we set a specific time to meet him days in advance that he confirmed (since we were no longer staying there). On that day and time we show up only to find it’s his scheduled day off…. Said he’d put it back on our card but refuses to send any sort of confirmation still a week later. Terrible customer service. Would not recommend. Also bathrooms (private) were super dirty

This is more of a hostel/hotel hybrid. Not fully a hostel, not fully a hotel. I really liked it. It feels kinda corporate, but the grounds are beautiful and the 4 person dormitory was REALLY nice. Spacious room, huge bathrooms. It is much nicer than the Antigua location of this chain. The only thing that really sucked is there is no kitchen or even a kitchenette for guests. I get that they want you to order from the onsite restaurant but it would be nice to have access to the basics - a fridge, microwave, and sink. For example, I stayed for 4 days but never was able to wash my reusable water bottle so I had a dirty water bottle the whole time. I couldn't have a simple pleasure like enjoying my favorite tea at night. There was no freezer to get ice for my injury (you have to ask the bartenders every single time for everything). Also many guests go from hostel to hostel - I had a ton of refrigerated food from my last hostel, and I had to throw everything away when I arrived. It felt like a waste. So overall - nice place. But please make a small kitchen for guests.

This is definitely the place to stay at. I am so glad that I picked this place. Everything was great. Rooms are very clean. The staff members are amazing and so helpful. All the activities that they have are great. I definitely recommend staying. The only downside which isn’t a big deal is that their beach area is only opened from Thursday to Saturday from 5pm to 1am. other than that, it was amazing.

Had some bus issues an ended up not arriving to town till 11pm luckily we made it here just in time with a last second booking! We got a private room which was really spacious and well maintained. Loved the breakfast options as well all fresh and beautiful. Great looking location, pool, dining area. I’m a fan and it wasn’t part of our original plan!

the manager here is an awful person. you can stay here if you want the worst hotel experience of your life. the reception does not care about your quality of stay and the rooms are decrepit. bathrooms are gross. the photos are fraudulent and look nothing like this place does in real life. the bathrooms do not drain and the music is super loud. avoid staying here at ALL COSTS.

This place is awful. Room is so small and very different from the pictures, bathroom is horrible without proper draining, amenities are scarse and low quality, you have to pay additionally to use co-working space which was not mentioned, manager was not responsive nor responsible at all when I tried to cancel the rest of the stay. Actually he was super rude. This place seems to have been re-branded because the previous hotel had such a poor rating. If you want to enjoy the stay in Atitlan, never book this hotel. This is an overpriced low-quality hotel.
