One of the worst hotels in the world not only in Brazil. Room is fine. BUT windows don’t close and very old and dusty. They have a whats app number which answers after 10-15 minutes for any questions. They have a stupid music playing very very very high all day all night. You cannot do anything from the sound. Don’t get the breakfast included because you will not find food-everyone will eat before you and then they pay so you go check first if there’s food and then eat and pay, but don’t pay upfront. If you asked for lowering the music no one will pay attention to you. Restaurant at night if you ordered food they will you baby portions for a-lot of money.. Not to talk about the worst location ever and the smell coming from the streets in front of the hotel and unsafe it is

In the heart of Lapa this hotel fits right in. You are 2 min walk from the famous stairs, and 10 min walk from all the bars and clubs. The metro is a 5 min walk. Breakfast has great options but too many fruit flies around the food. You get a welcome drink which you can claim at the roof top bar. They also host so many activities everyday like Karaoke, free walking tours etc. You can eat lunch and dinner there out of your own pocket and I recommend it. Reviews say the area is dangerous and I didn’t find it to be the case entirely. There are plenty of homeless around so if you go out at night stay in lit areas and don’t go alone to feel extra safe. The room is very nice but wish it came with a TV. Too many fruit flies around breakfast time.

The hotel left the best impressions. The staff is responsive, cleanliness and order in the hotel are maintained at the proper level, and fresh products are always served for breakfast. However, the area in which it is located may cause very ambiguous emotions.

This place tried to charge me over 20 times the original cost of my stay just one day before arrival—with no explanation. In person, they dodged responsibility and blamed a previous management company, but still refused a refund. I had to dispute the charge through my bank to get my money back. The vibe is completely gone—no events, poor maintenance, and dirty rooms. If you’re booking for the Selina experience, don’t be fooled. It’s not what it used to be.

Everything was great, unfortunately my room had a water leak in the bathroom, but apart from that, great

Very good environment, excellent breakfast. Close to the main points in city center. Sta Teresa Hills, Lapa, Selaron Steps. Staff team are very friendly. Especial thanks to the receptionist Tainá who is super attentious and kind. I'd definitely recommend this place.

Stayed in a private room. Checked in but the sheets were dirty and there was hair in the bathroom sink. The front desk staff spoke english which was very helpful. Breakfast was good. Rooftop was nice. There was a lot of street noise from the hotel room but its near a lot of major sites

For anyone coming here - this is NO LONGER coworking friendly!! We were only able to find this out after we booked and paid. The website and Google both still mentioned an open cowork space. Since the rebrand from Selina, the coworking space has been removed and turned in to office space for the staff. The WiFi is poor and inconsistent, there are no events for the people staying there, and the ‘traveler vibes’ are missing. It’s more of a hotel at this point with hostel type rooms. The AC and food are decent.
