Sofitel Athens Airport

What a great surprise and experience. Beautiful interior design, great reception staff and a wonderful and quiet room. The BIG surprise was the rooftop restaurant. Exceptionally designed interior space and wonderful roof terrace. The food was outstanding, as was the service. I noticed while dining that there were local Greeks meeting there to dine and thought this to be extraordinary for an airport hotel. Absolutely a 5 Star experience overall.

I had a very pleasant stay at Sofitel Athens Airport. The location is absolutely unbeatable – right across from the main terminal, which makes it ideal for early departures or late arrivals. Despite being so close to the airport, the room was completely quiet thanks to excellent soundproofing. The room itself was modern, clean, and comfortable. The bed was very cozy, and the bathroom was spacious and well-equipped with high-quality toiletries. Check-in and check-out were quick and efficient. The staff was professional, friendly, and helpful – exactly what you’d expect from a Sofitel hotel. The restaurant and breakfast service were also impressive. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of fresh and delicious options, including both international and Greek specialties. I especially enjoyed the view from the upper-level restaurant – you can overlook the entire airport area while dining. In summary: a great hotel for a relaxing and convenient night before or after a flight. The price is on the higher side, but totally justified given the location, comfort, and service. I would absolutely stay here again.

Sofitel is conveniently located across the terminal access road, easy to walk across. The hotel is large & well air conditioned, important in peak summer Greece months. The indoor rooftop pool is not heated & so is not refreshing for swimming & the spa personnel makes it seem even less inviting. Our early flight did not permit us to enjoy their allegedly great breakfast buffet but it does have earlier hours than many hotels, so no comment there. There are no ice machines on the floors & we had to call twice & wait over an hour for a small ice bucket to arrive. Overall I would stay there again if I had an early flight, but if my flight didn’t leave till Noon, I would get a nearby hotel with a pool & airport transfer.

Excellent airport hotel. Just walk across the street and you’re in the terminal. Good for a 0530 flight. Room, bedding, and shower were all perfect. A room can be pricey during peek travel season and there aren’t many choices for food if you don’t want to eat at the hotel. Airport has some ground side options that are reasonable.

We were staying at another "nice" hotel that had roaches in the room. We moved at the last minute to the Sofitel, and everything about it was great. The manager welcomed us, the rooms were very clean, and they offer 24-hour room service. The food was also very good. We were flying out the next morning, and it was so nice to walk across the street to our terminal. It could not have been any more convenient! I highly recommend the Athens Airport Sofitel!

Let me preface by stating that I stayed here with my husband because we had a 06:00 flight in the morning, needed to check bags, and weren’t familiar with ATH departures. I’ve stayed at a lot of airport hotels, most of which are just a place to rest your head and nothing more. I’ve also stayed at the Sofitel at LHR, which is a disappointment. Needless to say, my expectations were low. Although pricey, it was well worth the convenience. Beautifully equipped, clean, excellent staff, spa, and 2 restaurants on premises that stay open late. The rooftop bar and restaurant was a wonderful surprise. Well prepared drinks with tasty food and a spectacular view. Our room was thoughtfully composed, clean and equipped with all the amenities needed. And the bed. The bed was so comfortable. The pillows, just right. I wish we could’ve stayed longer. It was the perfect ending to a wonderful holiday.

We had a 6am flight out of Athens. Tue hotel was super nice. The checkin was easy. The room was basic but the options near the airport are very limited. A quick 3 minute walk to the departure area was super easy and we had peace of mind we were making our flight.

Athens Airport is efficient, modern, and easy to navigate. Security and passport control are usually quick, and signage is clear in multiple languages. There’s a good range of shops, restaurants, and clean facilities. Transport links to the city are excellent via metro, bus, or taxi. Overall, a smooth and pleasant experience for both arrivals and departures.
