Sofitel Beijing Central (Opening April 2019)

Not close to 5 star .. Not Close to Sofitel Rank.. With Accor loyalty, Pattinum member, I could say the service is not close to 5 star. Club millesime food and Beverage choice are limited. The funny part is there are no wine glass for the wine. We need to use water glasses instade.. when we asked the staff, he said he can wash the used one for us 🥂 .. Receptionist - Feeloling cold, lack.of hospitality .. especially morning one, when i have to return key and leave thd lugg6whild waiting for 2night room ...Hotel cant help to manage to send luggage to the room as we book 2 different type on 2 night. Concierge - just ok. I booked for 2 night with different room type. 1st might in suite room - assigned to 920. Room is looks good but on the lower floor without view. Mood and tone can adjust ambient lamp .. that's cool .. 2nd night with King Lux room - not sure we receive ny upgrade as receptionist did not tell me anything when received the new room key. Room size is good with Lavin amenity Location : 7 ins walk from subway station but better for didi. No plus side for this hotel .. Service should be better ...

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Sofitel Beijing Central Hotel from January 24th to 26th, 2026, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I arrived, the service was exceptional. Wendy Cao, who hosted my dining experience, went above and beyond to ensure my stay was memorable. Her attention to detail and warm hospitality made me feel welcomed and valued. She provided insightful recommendations and was genuinely enthusiastic about sharing the culinary delights of the hotel. One of the highlights of my stay was the incredible crispy duck meal. The dish was expertly prepared, with perfectly crispy skin and tender meat that practically melted in my mouth. The accompanying sauces and sides complemented the duck beautifully, creating a perfect harmony of flavors. It was truly a culinary masterpiece that reflects the high standards of the Sofitel brand. The hotel itself is stunning, with elegant decor and a sophisticated ambiance. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, offering a peaceful retreat after a day of exploring Beijing. The location is also ideal, making it easy to access various attractions. Overall, my experience at the Sofitel Beijing Central Hotel was nothing short of fantastic. The combination of outstanding service from Wendy, the exquisite dining options, and the luxurious accommodations made for a perfect getaway. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Beijing and look forward to returning in the future!

We had a great experience during our stay at Sofitel Beijing. The staffs are very helpful and almost all of them can speak English, especially thanks to Candy. She is very nice and helpful. The room is spacious, clean and very comfortable. Also, they keep my taobao packages before my check in date. We will surely will comeback again

Very poor experience. Should have trusted the negative review. At most 3 stars hotel. The room was old which is not really a problem if it is maintained well. But this is not the case, bed was sunken, thermostat was so warm causing the room 27 deg C. Asked for fan, they said all fans were sent out so no more available. As an elite Accor Plus member, this is really falling short of the experience and standard.

We stayed at this hotel with my girlfriend for about five days while visiting Beijing. Overall, it’s a good hotel with very spacious rooms. The layout was a bit unusual, with a bathtub placed in the middle of the room, but it didn’t really bother us. The main downside was the service, especially at reception. The staff spoke very little English and were not very helpful, which was quite disappointing for a hotel of this level. This was clearly the weakest point of our stay. On the positive side, the room was comfortable, with good lighting, large closets, and decent space overall. However, there were not many towels provided, and the toilet privacy was poor, with only a glass door not ideal at all. The location is okay but requires using a cab, which is very cheap and easy in Beijing. There’s a McDonald’s, a convenience store, and some local Chinese restaurants nearby, so it’s convenient enough. Overall, a decent stay, but it could definitely have been better with improved service and a bit more attention to comfort details.

I stayed at Sofitel Beijing Central and unfortunately this was nothing like the Sofitel experience I am used to. The service level was far below expectations and felt closer to a 3 star hotel rather than a luxury brand. From the moment of check in, the experience was cold and uninviting. No one to assist with the bags from the taxi coming from the airport. Staff did not smile, were not welcoming, and did not demonstrate the service awareness or professionalism typically associated with Sofitel. I had to take my own bags to the room as there was no one to assist with this. Service throughout the stay was slow and many staff members struggled to communicate in English, which made even basic requests more difficult than necessary. The room looks nice and glitzy in photos, but the reality did not live up to the presentation. There were multiple issues, including a constant squeaky noise from the shower and a shower head that was not working properly. The lighting controls were also frustrating. Lighting felt like an all or nothing setup, and if you wanted to control it properly you had to turn off individual switches in different parts of the room, which was inconvenient and poorly designed. The WiFi was also problematic. I had ongoing issues connecting using my Accor account, which made accessing the internet unnecessarily difficult. Breakfast was another disappointment. The buffet area felt closed off, lacked warmth, and offered limited variety compared to what is normally expected from a Sofitel property. The atmosphere was dull and not inviting. After a few days the food got boring that we stopped going after the 3rd day. It is also worth noting for anyone staying in Beijing during winter that most hotels do not run air conditioning in colder months. If your room does not have a window that can be opened, the room can become extremely hot, especially on higher floors, which affects overall comfort and sleep quality. Overall, this is the worst Sofitel I have ever stayed at. I would not return and would instead opt for the Fairmont next time.

Centrally located location to go around the various tourist sites and CBD through car/ehailing. Fast access point to the airport, which only takes 30mins. The hotel room rate is very affordable compared to other 5 star hotels in Beijing. Thank Linda Li for the hospitality services and also the free room upgrade that makes the stay more relaxing for my family.

Excellent services from front desk, porters to maintaining and cleaning our room. Must mention the receptionist-Xiao Tian, Jenson Wang and David Zhu from the Concierge, Xu Yu Mei and Pang Jun for their friendly professional services. Great breakfast catering for all needs and demands. Spacious rooms by Beijing standards. Know where to stay for our next trip to Beijing!
