Sofitel İstanbul Taksim

We had a family vacation in the Sofitel Taksim Istanbul. We had a beautiful suite with the exception of one day in which we had to move to another room. The video from the veranda Otto the Bosporus was magnificient. The personal in the hotel was extremely helpful. Great compliments to - Erkan Karaça, who was always helpful to make the suite most comfortable - Gülmiza, who cleaned our suite perfectly and was helpul when water , soap or anything else was needed - Utku and Tibet, who were very attentative in caring for us having suite 1703 again after we had to move out of the suite for one day - John Mustafa, who is a perfect receptionist. He made it possible, that we were assigned to suite 1703. Thank you very much! - Ida Bagus, who made a wonderful job in the Club Milessime and who was always very kind to us.

Great location at Taksim square. Good breakfast! Staff are really helpful and super quick! In our room the safe was not working even after multiple attempts from hotel staff to fix it AC really takes a super long time to reach desired temperature. If you're located in underground floors (B1-B3) you will not have good views and you will not have much privacy if you opened the curtains. Gym is really poor for a hotel of this size!

This hotel is pretty good, but I wouldn’t classify it as exceptional. There are much better hotels around Istanbul that fuel more luxurious and authentically Turkish. The staff are genuinely kind and will go out of their way to help you, which was really wonderful, especially because my mother was having mobility issues at the time. This really stuck out to me. The breakfast buffet is truly wonderful. They have a French pastry chef and the croissants rival some of my favorites in Paris. The only room for improvement is that staff does not monitor the buffet when there are children around and so you have to be careful that you are not picking up food that has been touched or sneezed on. The room was very clean but it felt dark. Our room key kept on deactivating as well, which was annoying because we had to walk quite far to get to our room and as I mentioned, my mom had mobility issues and there was no place for her to sit down and wait for me as I dealt with the room key issue. The other thing worth mentioning is that the restaurant, airport transfer, and spa service prices are exorbitant. Feeling like I’m getting ripped off and I felt that way at many points in this day. For example, my mother paid around $120 for a one-way airport transfer which is absurd because the standard rate in Istanbul is around $40.

Sofitel Istanbul Taksim never stops bringing me pure joy and comfort, it has truly become my second home, and the incredible team there, my second family. They go above and beyond, celebrating my birthdays with genuine warmth and always taking such care of me and my loved ones during our stays. This time, they completely melted my heart by surprising me with a stunning room that offered one of the most breathtaking views imaginable. It felt like a dream! I’m overflowing with gratitude, happiness, and love for the extraordinary Sofitel team. Their kindness, talent, and heartfelt hospitality make every moment magical. Can’t wait to come back again, I feel so blessed to know them, they are truly one of a kind.

This is the place to stay in Istanbul. The rooms are luxurious and spacious. It truly felt like home. The Bosporus view is incredible. The staff were attentive, polite and cared about us. Even when there was a misunderstanding (entirely caused by us), they were respectful the entire time. They quickly called us after we left to let us know that we forgot our wallet and money in the room. They went above and beyond for us. We are forever grateful to this excellent 5 star treatment and rooms.

A beautiful hotel in a prime location—right in one of Istanbul’s busiest areas with 24/7 food, endless cafés, shops, most important Baklava and a metro station just 5 minutes away. As a first-time visitor, this spot couldn’t have been more convenient! Rooms were clean and spacious, staff warm and welcoming, and we loved Sofi the hotel cat—just give her time to warm up. Unfortunately, our stay took a hit due to a power outage that left us without AC from 2–6am. After a full day out with a toddler, this was rough. Staff refused our request for a fan, and the upgrade offered didn’t help—surprisingly poor response from Sofitel. We appreciated the complimentary breakfast, though only the cheese stood out. Incredible location and great potential, but the AC issue is something future guests should be aware of.

I had a wonderful experience thanks to the amazing restaurant staff and the hotel manager. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and truly dedicated to making guests feel welcome. A special thanks to the manager — she is a genuinely kind and caring person who goes above and beyond to ensure that everyone is comfortable and well taken care of. Her attention to detail and warm hospitality made a real difference in our stay. Highly recommended!

It was total perfection. To come off a long-haul flight to this hotel was just incredible. The room is stunning (and huge), we got upgraded to the Bosphorus view (highly recommend), the bed is the most comfortable (to the point that my partner never felt me move at night - amazing), the pillows were fluffy (maybe too much so), the gym was awesome and had everything you needed (plus an amazing steam room and sauna), the breakfast was insane with so many options (we didn’t need to eat for the rest of the day), the staff were so accommodating including letting us check in 5 hours early (unheard of), and my personal favourite was the pool area which had the best music and an amazing view. Also a shout out to the wonderful cleaning staff who gave us heaps of water and were so so so kind. It was just such a privilege to stay here. A massive thank you to Candan and her team. We loved every moment. The short of it - don’t stay here if you actually want to see Istanbul, you won’t want to leave ever! We will always stay here.
