Sofitel review…
After a red-eye flight, the warm greeting at the entrance and front desk of this perfectly-located Sofitel combined made us feel as if we picked the ideal hotel. We were proven right.
This hotel on the Avenue de Liberdade is an ideal location to wander the various historical attractions, and is surrounded by loads of high-end shops and dining options, and really close to all the tourist areas down by the river.
Our first visit was for four nights before heading to the Algarve, after which we returned for a two-night stay. On both visits, we were treated so wonderfully by Helder and Eric, who made sure we were comfortable while we awaited our rooms. Helder and Eric are highly professional, informative and efficient. While awaiting our room, we enjoyed the hospitality of Walter, who shared his knowledge of the city.
The rooms are comfortable and the hotel is surprisingly quiet given its location. The rooms have Diptyque soaps and lotions, which were a lovely treat.
At our included breakfast each morning, we were greeted by the gracious and always smiling Halana. The Sofitel has the perfect buffet breakfast area to start your day with a nice offering of eggs, meats, cheeses and various bakery items. While the food is really good, the service is what makes the hotel worth the visit. The staff truly demonstrate a passion for hospitality, combining excellent service with delicious food. We ate lunch and dinner in the restaurant where breakfast is served and the meals were really good.
Checking out of the hotel was made so efficient by Pedro on the two mornings. Like all our experiences, Pedro demonstrated why someone should choose the Sofitel. The staff are outstanding.
All in all a great stay and we look forward to another visit to this top notch and perfectly located property in the future.
