Staying here was extremely relaxing! The staff is GREAT & service is impeccable! The building is gorgeous! Our room next to the pool had ample space for storing luggage after unpacking. Double sinks in the bathroom with counter running the entire length of the wall is a welcoming feature in this time of tight bathrooms. Footed tub and a spacious glass enclosure for shower! COMFIEST king size canopy bed BUT older electrical fixtures and noisy airconditioning. The room has a large attached grassy patio with a covered wooden deck with a soaking tub. The spa lists some great massage choices. On the down side the place has only one restaurant with very limited & very expensive menu compared to the wide choice of restaurants just minutes away. Oh! And did I mention that the staff is GREAT!

This hotel is awesome. Staff are extremely helpful and warm, and conversant. Can’t say enough about team members Te, Vard, Leung, Noudny, Yai (among others) who made my stay super comfortable. Not sure I’ve ever experienced the level of service in any other hotel. ||The property, which used to be a prison, is absolutely lovely. Great pool and layout of the courtyard is perfect. My room was spacious, well-equipped with an outside tub and sitting area. ||Food was incredible - really great breakfast and the dinner menu hugely varied and of top quality. ||If i am fortunate enough to return to Luang Prabang i will absolutely stay here again!

From the moment you step into Sofitel Luang Prabang, you are enveloped in an atmosphere of tranquil elegance. The hotel perfectly captures the essence of Luang Prabang, blending traditional Lao architecture with modern comforts. Nestled amidst lush gardens, it offers a peaceful retreat from the bustling energy of the town. The garden includes a huge pool area perfect for relaxation. The staff, lead by Te - is smiling and attentive - you simply feel welcomed in every way.

It starts with the staff--they all are really proud of the hotel and their enthusiasm and willingness to make things happen for starts at the top. The gong announcing an arrival, and a thorough briefing by the very helpful and polished Vard sets a high standard everyone lives up to. The 'smallest Sofitel' delivers big-time in amenities, ability to make it comfortable to see Luang Prabang in all its glory. Easy transfers to downtown and using the complimentary bikes made getting around a snap. Add on an extra day in town just to enjoy the spot. The private garden and outdoor soaking tub adjacent to the large bathroom are plusses, as is the superb omelettes in the morning.

I spent a week at this hotel to celebrate both the Lunar New Year and my birthday. Drawn by its rich history, stunning architecture, and Sofitel’s high-level service, I arrived with high expectations—and the experience exceeded them. From the moment I stepped inside, the hotel exuded luxury, relaxation, and quality. The blend of Lao-French architecture is not only elegant but also thoughtfully designed to harmonize with the environment. With just 25 rooms, the hotel never feels crowded. The on-site restaurant, Governor's Grill, serves exquisite cuisine from morning to evening. One detail I particularly appreciated was the serene breakfast buffet—never overcrowded, allowing me to select my meal without having to squeeze past other guests. The pool area is a perfect retreat for reading and relaxation, though the water was a bit chilly in January. A delightful surprise was the presence of rabbits roaming freely around the property, adding a charming and unique touch to the atmosphere. The hotel offers a variety of tours and activities, two of which I experienced: a visit to Kuang Si Falls—breathtaking and absolutely worth it—and “The Legend of the Lost Treasure.” The latter was an interactive adventure involving a map and a diary filled with clues leading to the lost treasure of Luang Prabang. It was both educational and fun, though I found it somewhat challenging. At one point, my slower progress led Leng from the hotel to check in on me, ensuring everything was okay. With a little assistance, I eventually solved the mystery and was warmly greeted at the final location by the ever-cheerful Ms. Tou, who shared intriguing insights and helped me complete my quest. It was a memorable experience. My birthday celebration was something I will never forget. The hotel manager, Andrew, along with a few staff members, arrived at my door with a birthday cake, singing "Happy Birthday." It was a wonderful surprise, made even more special by a thoughtful gift and an artfully arranged message on my bed. Now that I’m home, I already find myself longing to return—and I'm already planning my next visit.

The Sofitel Luang Prabang is a beautiful hotel, stunning grounds gardens & pool.|The rooms we stayed in were very generous & very clean.|An easy walk to the centre & complimentary transfers in if preferred.|The breakfast at the restuarant overlooking the gardens was fabulous - great chefs cooking to.order. Excellent dinners and a very very good Negroni in the afternoon. |The hotel is gorgeous but really makes the experience oustanding is the service.||In particular Breakfast team Bath,Vandyke, & Keo. |Likewise Front Desk - Te, Vard, Leng, Loudly & Yai who couldn't do enough to ensure we had a grest stay.

I wanted to take a moment to thank the senior on-site management for personally helping our family with a few issues like laundry and going above and beyond to help us during a long trip through Asia. The front desk and restaurant staff were attentive and accommodating, and we appreciated the management's focus on guest satisfaction. Of course, the property and grounds are lovely, the rooms spacious, and the bunnies charming, but the generous, patient and can-do staff and management will remain with me, especially the front-of-the-house manager's goodwill gesture. Thank you!

If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway, the Sofitel in Luang Prabang is the perfect choice.||The place is absolutely stunning—a gorgeous colonial-style mansion with a peaceful garden where you might even spot some rabbits roaming around. The pool is amazing, just what you need to chill after a day of exploring the city. The rooms are super spacious and come with their own private garden, so you’ve got plenty of privacy when you want it.||And let’s talk about the breakfast—it was the best we had in Laos and honestly better than most European hotels we’ve stayed at. There was a huge variety, and a lot of it was freshly made by the chef, which made it even more special.||But what really makes this hotel stand out is the staff. Huge thanks to Te, Vard, Leng, Noudny, and Yai for being so friendly and helpful—they made our stay unforgettable.||Next time I’m in Luang Prabang, I know exactly where I’m staying!
