Sofitel Noosa Pacific Resort|We had such a lovely stay in Noosa at the Sofitel. The hotel is going through a major refurbishment this year and with a name change to the Elysium to what will no doubt be a very luxurious experience. We were advised that there may be some disruption with the main restaurant being closed during our stay. Having enjoyed a restful holiday here four years ago we were still wishing to spend a few days in the sunshine. ||It should be noted that we had also chosen the busiest time of the year to visit with the triathlon being held over the weekend of our stay and some 8000 plus competitors and 40 000 visitors in attendance. A test for any hotel one would imagine. Here is my honest impressions of the Sofitel in what was a very busy time to be visiting Noosa.||We had a lovely welcome at reception with Janice, who made sure we were very well looked after. We were offered one of the newly refurbished rooms as an upgrade on level four. On entering our room, 408, everything looked and felt brand new. We may well have been the first couple to stay in this room. ||Although building and room refurbishments were still taking place with just over sixty rooms in the hotel in operation during our stay, we were not effected by the building activities taking place. Management were extremely careful about informing us of any interruptions if there were to be any, which we appreciated.||Our room was spacious with an extremely comfortable bed, lots of storage space, tea and coffee making facilities and one of the best stocked mini bars we have seen for quite some time. The bathroom was large and had both a walk in shower and a spa bath.||The Riviera Bar on the ground floor near reception was a comfortable nook to enjoy an evening drink before heading out to Hastings Street for dinner each night. Ella in the bar was particularly accommodating and kind on each of the evenings we visited. She made us feel very welcome and was very attentive.||In fact all the staff at the hotel were wonderful! From the concierge team who helped with bags and umbrellas, to Janice in reception and the fabulous pool staff, Sophie and Joanna who also cared for us at breakfast. We couldn’t have felt better looked after. Also looking after us at the pool was Tora and Lena who always checked on us. Thank you!||Breakfast each morning was on the undercover lily pond patio. Rani, Donna, Stevie, Mohammad and all those whose names we did not learn were so professional and welcoming. Breakfasts were a daily highlight during our stay. Coffee was excellent!| |A big thank you to Jamaica who went out of her way to assist us with our washing when we were seeking advice on the location of the nearest laundromat. Jamaica insisted on having the hotel laundry do our washing which was so kind and greatly appreciated. Thank you also to Joanna and Lilah at reception who assisted with a printing request so patiently and with a smile.||To Madi and the other tireless housekeepers whom we met, Kristina and Bella who along with the team maintained our room during our stay, thank you! To the attendants who maintained the gym which was very well set up and the staff at the Aqua Spa, thank you. I enjoyed a daily visit to the gym and my wife loved her spa treatment.||As you might have guessed, we had a wonderful five night stay at the Sofitel. A hotel undergoing a major refresh and one that we will be returning to soon. We sometimes read reviews that are somewhat critical during our search for accommodation when travelling. ||This hotel is worthy of all the other positive reviews and everyone who works there should feel particularly proud of what they have already achieved and what is to come. Thank you to the General Manager, Mark Wilkinson and his team whose welcome letter and daily notices kept us informed on the activities around the hotel.||On a side note, I only write reviews that offer praise where deserved. One comment I received from an earlier review was that it had been generated using AI, this is not nor has it ever been the case with my reviews. I am just another traveller who is grateful and appreciative of the opportunities my wife and I have to travel as we do, now that we have retired. ||I will leave critical reviews of hotel stays for others.
