Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra

"Situated in the city's elegant Old Quarter district with nicely landscaped gardens, the Sofitel is both relaxed and sophisticated. Its 201 rooms in a colonial-style building have views of either the Mekong or Bassac rivers. No one can fault its location: Key city attractions including the Royal Palace, the National Museum, and Sisowath Quay are steps away. Understated pastel-colored decor includes a few Khmer architectural touches like delicate lintels, French-style furniture, and velvety brown wood floors (for a true splurge, try the 1,600 square-foot Opera Suite with Hermès amenities). The diversity of choices in the hotel’s roster of restaurants will remind you that travelers come from all corners of the world: There’s La Coupole, with Western and Asian specialties; the rustic Italian Do Forni; and Hachi, a Japanese restaurant with six private tatami rooms. If all the decision-making about where to dine is tiring, get a spa treatment that blends French influences (you are at the Sofitel, after all) with traditional touches, like the Mandarin Crumble Scrub or a no-oil Khmer massage that uses deft finger pressure for muscular stretching."

This was our 2nd time for us to stay at Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra and it was, again, a most pleasant experience. The location is just perfect. Everything, from the airport pick-up/send-off to the welcome drink/check-in and throughout the the entire stay, the dedicated and well trained team paid utmost attention to detail to ensure that things went very well for us. The breakfast is easily one of the very best anywhere in the world, in fact, absolutely overwhelming, offering only prime quality foods such as the top of the range cold cuts, smoked fish, local and international delicatessen, the best imaginable selection of French breads and pastries along with great coffee and freshly pressed juices of the season. The Japanese and Italian restaurants which we visited, too, serve only excellent selections prepared in a perfect way. And there is always that extra kindness and attention by the hot staff with a smile which make you truly feel at home. And I surely don't want to forget to mention Lionel the Hotel Parrot, who is definitely another integral and highly popular part of the hotel, always ready to have a bird's chat with interested visitors, especially the female ones. Thank you very much for yet another super experience at the beautifully designed hotel.

The overall hotel experience received at the Sofitel Phnom Penh was one of the most amazing and well run hotels that we've ever been to around the world - and we've stayed at some very nice hotels in different parts of the globe. From the moment we were picked up by the hotel car at the airport, to when we arrived where we were met at the door and quickly taken to the club lounge for a private check-in with refreshments and afternoon tea. The room itself is what you'd expect of a Sofitel, but for us the highlight was always the service from the hotel staff - this was amazing. Everyone from the General Manager down made sure that we were having an enjoyable stay and that everything was in place. The friendly approaches from hotel staff was excellent. The little touches such as cupcakes being delivered to our room for my 8 year old son make a difference. |The hotel is next to a very large shopping centre, so any shopping needs are easily met, and was easy to get Tuk Tuks, Cars to the sites around Phnom Penh. The hotel is on a large area of land, so acted as a nice sanctuary from all the noise/business in the streets. |I only wish we could have stayed a bit longer.

From check-in right to check-out, the service was impeccable. This is my 3rd stay at Sofitel Phnom Penh and will be coming back again next week for another stay from 27 Feb to 3 Mar. The room is very comfortable. I love the complimentary bar and the breakfast. The staff are polite and respectful. If there is just one observation is that because of the developments around the hotel, the roads get a bit busy and the view is not great even on the high floors due to the obstructions from the new buildings around the hotel.

We spent 4 nights in this beautiful hotel. It has a very grand foyer and lovely grounds. We were upgraded to a large room with a balcony looking out over the river. Housekeeping were exceptional, love the turn down service. We really enjoyed the breakfast, didn't eat in the hotel restaurant as we ate in the club lounge each evening and the staff there couldn't do enough for us. The bar area in the foyer had live music most evenings and was a lovely space to sit and relax with a drink. We would definitely stay there again if we were in Cambodia. ||All the staff we encountered were genuinely interested in making sure you had an enjoyabe stay. The linen and towels were very high quality

The hotel is really amazing. Rooms are nice and spacious with a traditional wood decor that makes you feel really relaxed. Let’s talk about Le Bar, the creative cocktails and amazing service of the staff. I would like to mention specially Mr. Thy who happens to be a friendly bartender and very competent. The cocktails on the 1st page of the menu are amazing. Also the selection of champagne bottles and by the glass. Music is fun, seats very comfortable.

We spent 6 nights in this hotel to enjoy our French friends set in Phnom Penh. Our was was upgraded. We were very happy to use the Club Millesime, in which the service is great. The managing Director stoppes 3 times at the Club to welcome all guests présent at the Time but not us (We guessed that 6 nights stay as Platinum is not enough). Nevertheless, the comfort of this hotel is really great. The swimming pool for membres is beautiful even if it is beside the road, so a bit noisy. It does not prevent you from having a nap. One of the most incredible thing We experienced at Sofitel Phnom Penh is the Breakfast !!! Between a great number of hotels we had the opportunity to stay, this one has one the greatest breakfast, including the high rank baguette, croissant, pain au chocolat, pain perdu, the choice of égos and of course, asian dishes. We were so happy to sit at our breakfast table every day that we invited our friends to experience it. You can rely on a nice, friendly but always professional service. We were served by the same lady at every breakfast. She had to cope with my specific requirements, and was the only one to be successful!!! She provided a great image of this Sofitel. We tried the food of Room Service, and, again, it was really really delicious! We tried the massage, twice, and again, it was great. At the Club Millesime, the food displayed, the red wine are at the level of the 5 stars. Finally, We used the airport transfer of the Sofitel, as high as the other services mentioned. For sure, and regarding all services experienced in a considerable length oh stay (6 nights), I deeply recommend this hotel with confidence.

Wonderful stay. Le Bar was really nice. Sak makes an outstanding mojito and both Sak and Thy were very warm and friendly and the live music (piano and vocalist) very enjoyable. Also, enjoyed the very friendly pool service at the huge, quiet and peaceful pool and Srey in the Hachi Restaurant (which was our favorite) was delightful. Breakfasts were very good and plentiful. Staff is without exception friendly, warm and smiling and that is even with the Prime Minister in the Hotel.

absolute must)||On the property they have many different restaurants: Italian, Japanese, and Chinese. I tried the Dim Sum Brunch at the Fu Lu Zu restaurant and I couldn’t recommend it more! ||I also had a sushi and sashimi platter at the Habachi (Japanese restaurant) on their first floor, which was soooo good! ||The pool and tennis courts are great places to relax and they even have a complimentary golf cart that takes you to the mall next door! ||For breakfast they have both an Asian and a western breakfast option… to be honest I only tried western, as I love my eggs and bacon in the morning! ||I also very much recommend visiting their spa! It is top notch and the ambience is guaranteed to leave feeling relaxed! ||In the evenings they also have live music for cocktail hour at the bar! That is a must and the Bartender Thy, is an absolute legend with the cocktails!
